Not to mention omnipotent, so there is always another way than simply genociding an entire civ's worth of babies. Humans operating under their own strength don't have that option.

It's simply remarkable how many people explain away God's atrocities with the equivalent of a "well, what else could he have done?"

The only issue with this line of reasoning I have is that, when you get right down to it, if theists are right then God kills everyone. Unless any of you have a mate who has been hanging around for the last 30,000 years or so?

They are because we have already addressed that point. The answer is, no, God can not be infinitely loving and kill that person.

Especially since God made the person that way. He was just carrying out God's plan, right?

I think when you say "can't touch him" isn't how I'd put it. When looking from the lens of Love ...especially "Godly Love", there's not much room in that kind of Love for hate and anger because that space that is God is being totally filled with Love and Forgiveness and Compassion for His Creation.

What he's doing is comparing a dictator to a God. He's asking why it is okay for God to commit genocide. He's asking how that is loving.

I'm also a Lover of God...I totally get what your saying here.

But from the on going discussion of this thread, I think you can see how many might be turned off by the image of God that they see coming out of the Old Testament with Christian theology.
