  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When I put our bathroom back together, I was inspired to clean and reorganize a lot of things...I threw away a lot, filled a big recycle bin up to the brim one day. I still have some smaller areas that need work, but the major shelves and closets are very nice...oooh, it feels good to do this once in a while.

It does :)
We need to get into the cellar storage now.
It WAS neat until my mother and Jim's father died a WEEK APART :swoon:
In cleaning out THEIR homes to sell, we acquired a lot of THEIR belongings that need to be sorted through still.
2+ years later, it is all still sitting there

My place is small... my parents place WAS QUITE LARGE. they downsized and moved to Florida just before their marriage fell apart. I got a lot of furniture that was too big for my home, then mom died and dad brought ALLLL OF HER STUFF TO ME. and i have some stuff that belongs to my son who lives more than a thousand miles away. i shipped some of it to him but it was quite expensive. add that to no hot water heater and other plumbing problems and my new avon business and you can only imagine the mess I was living in. I still have my mom's stuff and I'm going to package up matt's stuff and put it out in the shed (after I clean the shed).. then there is the roof that needs tending to this year..I also don't have a dryer so I must line dry all of my cloths, quite often in doors. I have two portable racks I use for that. I can take them down and put them away when nothing is on them. I'm afraid a garden is out of the question for me this year. I have an asparagus bed started, some strawberries and some blackberries but those things are already new. i just don't have time for anything else. :)

I'm still living in a bit of a mess but at least it is manageable

Oh my...what a full plate she has :(

In spite of all her trials you still DO have the right to set your limits for YOUR health of body, mind, and spirit, precisely because YOU must care for yourself, and etch out a living!
I know it doesn't come without turmoil and guilt, but must be done if YOU are to survive; you couldn't help her at all if you don't.

She will be in my prayers...and you....for your direction, strength, and peace in this difficult situation; God bless your dear hearts

I feel bad that I can't help her but I told her she was making a mistake several months ago. She either wasn't too smart to begin with or the stroke has dumbed her down a bit. (I know that sounds harsh but she's old enough to know better) I'm really not sure. she has made a series of mistakes that I cannot take ownership of... I can pray for her and I can lead her in a direction but I cannot do it for her. She still spends money like there is no tomorrow. my goodness, she went bankrupt right before she got married. I seriously think she thought she would get to keep the house if she divorced him. He lives with his brother now and is just waiting for her to get out.
I love her to pieces because she has a really sweet personality but sometimes her thinking is just off. So, no Gail, there isn't much I can do but be her friend and pray. I give small bits of advice like, you need to live ON A BUS LINE JUST IN CASE YOU CANNOT DRIVE ANYMORE OR JUST IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS TO YOUR CAR. Her brother has offered to buy or help her buy a house. I think that she should let him... She was about to rent because she cannot buy anything one because of money and two the bankruptcy...

It does take time, but those are traumatic life events and maybe the delay will be a blessing in the long run.
We have projects to do around here, but we are no where close to being hoarders...just regular living folks I think.
We are planning to get to it soon, and family is just now getting anxious to go through pictures etc.
All is well...just a big mess to sort through :p
Little things like this are BIGGIES to me...makes me smile...PTL!

I finally got most of my mess cleaned up. my house was sooooo out of control. I was about to shut the door behind me and just move. :) lol... I can stand to live here again.. PRAISE GOD. I still have a few things to throw out and the office to clean.

Got an email from avon yesterday. she wants me to hold tight on my business plan. She is going to a conference on May 2 and wants me to give her a chance to do some digging. I certainly will do that. May 2 is right around the corner. Meanwhile I am looking into other ventures that I may like to do. I pray that God blesses my efforts and causes me to pick the right opportunity.

I join you in these prayers. May God lead and guide you.

Thanks Gail...I get very discouraged and unsure of my photos and editing...all the time. If it makes people happy or encourages them, that is my goal.
Oh goodness...you sound like my hubby with his painting
Your work is beautiful!
I think too much to be spontaneous and creative like that :sorry:

I do sort of "fly by the seat of my pants"...but most of the time I have fun with photography.
