NoIs it possible for me to pick a choice other than what this deity KNOWS I WILL PICK?
Since you don't believe God exists, what difference could it possibly make to you?
AV may drive me nuts with his fundamentalism but at the same time, his (usually) consistently unabashed and unapologetic belief makes him a little more pleasant to debate with (mostly.)
He knows what you're going to choose. He's not making you choose anything. So, you answer one question but not this one? Not surprising.
So, I ask again, is it possible for me to pick a choice other than what this deity KNOWS I WILL PICK?
AV may drive me nuts with his fundamentalism but at the same time, his (usually) consistently unabashed and unapologetic belief makes him a little more pleasant to debate with (mostly.)
Now, the question is this: If you cannot select a choice other than the one you will pick, how do you have a real choice?
He knows what you're going to choose. He's not making you choose anything.
Of course you have a choice. You choose what you are going to do. You choose what you want, or you choose something else. He knows, that doesn't mean you don't have a choice. He created you, He knows you better than you know yourself. Of course He knows what you're going to pick.
If you choose to have something else, He knew you were going to do that.If we truly have a choice, then God cannot know what we will choose. If He does know, then we do not have a choice.
If God knows what I am going to have for dinner, can I choose to have something else?

From that perspective, you don't; but if you want to look at it that way, then what you are actually saying is that you have no choice but to be able to select a choice. Now, the question is this: If you cannot select a choice other than the one you will pick, how do you have a real choice?
No -- from God's perspective, you already had it.If God knows what I am going to have for dinner, can I choose to have something else?

Isaiah 46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Yes, it is. But it's a logical opinion. We might expect an omniscient being to know all that can possibly be known, including all our possible choices. That's your opinion.
Yes, we do - the "choices we'll make".You're not logically drawing this out. If a god exists, and he created us, and he knows what choices we'll make, ... then we don't have a choice, do we?
But we did "choose it".Put another way, no matter what we choose, god knows we'll choose it, because he created us.
What I am seeing is that no matter how you try to swing it we still "choose it" and the "choices we'll make" are optional. If you can't see this, then well. Carry on.
"I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?" - Jer 32:27.set two brand new dollar bills side by side, tell him he can choose just one, which one does he take? This is a little harder to predict, and impossible to know.
This logic is so flawed it's embarrassing. What I am saying is that choice only exists when you CAN select ANY of the choices available to you. If you cannot, then it's not a choice. If I cannot select something other than what he knows I WILL pick, then I have no choice in the matter.
Why not?If we truly have a choice, then God cannot know what we will choose. If He does know, then we do not have a choice.
Yes you can, you can choose something else He knows you will choose. You have options, therefore choices. If God knows what I am going to have for dinner, can I choose to have something else?
