CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, I suspect the Acts verse was referencing one of the books of the Torah.
That said, such vague "prophecies" are hardly impressive. I mean..."a prophet like me"? If that's a reference to Jesus, then it's fairly obtuse, seeing as Jesus was the incarnation of a deity. Bit different.

If one can't make a different choice, how is that choice? Chopice means there are multiple options, but if God knows I will choose one option and only that one option, then I can't choose a different option, hence there is no choice involved. It may seem to me that I am making a choice, but ultimately I could not have made any other choice. That's the illusion of choice.

An Omniscient God knowing the choice we will make does not mean we cannot make a different choice. It means the Omniscient God knows all the possible choices we can make.

You're not logically drawing this out. If a god exists, and he created us, and he knows what choices we'll make, ... then we don't have a choice, do we?
Put another way, no matter what we choose, god knows we'll choose it, because he created us.
If you can't see this, then well. Carry on.

I don't believe in a supernatural creator being. People of faith do. This whole business of "free choice" is nothing but. You believe that a supernatural being created you, and that he knows what it is that you will choose, that is to say, he created you knowing what it is you will choose. This is anything but "free." It is an ad hoc illusory concept that people of faith need to justify their belief construct. Nothing more.

God knows, doesn't force.
If my 9 year old son asks for a snack and I put on the table a brownie and a plate of spinach and give him the choice between the two, I know he'll choose the brownie, doesn't mean he doesn't have the choice.

Is knowledge the antithesis of freewill? I trow not.
If I pop in a video of Gone with the Wind and watch it a thousand times, so that I end up knowing who is going to speak, when they are going to speak, what they are going to say, where they are going, what their plans are, etc.; does that mean they didn't have freewill in movement when the movie was made?
What if I go back to the year just before the movie was made and take that knowledge with me?
If I'm sitting on the set while the movie is being made, does my presence deny them freewill?
By the same token, does their freewill prevent my existence?

That's just it, you don't know. How could you possible know, beyond a shadow of a doubt he'll take it? You can't. It's impossible to know his choice beforehand. Obviously, you have a relationship with your son, and you assume he will take the brownie. I don't know your son, but I would assume he'd take the brownie. Kids love sweets! You're simply playing the odds. Closer to your analogy would be: set two brand new dollar bills side by side, tell him he can choose just one, which one does he take? This is a little harder to predict, and impossible to know.
