I find it beyond disgusting that one would use a word from the Lord to make money. This man may have had a true revelation; maybe he did. If that is the case, the irony is that one of the many reasons for God's judgment coming on this nation is the very thing he is doing; loving money more than ministering to those who can't afford it!

Keith Green was a worship leader who gave worship concerts for free because at one point in his walk he felt deep conviction from the Holy Spirit. He said that nobody should ever have to pay for ministry; EVER. Sadly he was killed when he was still young but his legacy lives on. He was a man with a passion for holiness. Far be it from him to make money off of ministry! It'd be nice if more people thought like that today.

That would be many right here in America.

People have the right to choose to put it in the form of a book. They sell it to get it into the hands of more people that way. He can't preach to everyone! There is nothing disgusting about it, except what critical people harbour between their ears.

Being critical of people like this is simply irrational.

So did anyone happen to buy that word? I don't think God would mind if you posted it for all to read for FREE. I'm pretty sure God owns the copyright if it's a valid word, not John Kilpatrick.

I am convinced enough of the integrity of the author to part with a few dollars for his ministry in exchange for the book so I can know for myself. Finding out can only enhance my own ministry.

No it is not. This is not a book this is an announcement of impending doom. A prophet of God spoke the word to the people. He didn't charge them for it.

That's right. I am sure that Mr. Kilpatrick has spoken countless times to people of what the Lord has given him. Now he has a chance to get it to millions...through the wonderful invention called a book.

We buy bibles, don't we?

And that's fine if he wants to include divine revelation in books. But why not also put this word online for free? A word of this importance should not be limited to what people can buy.

Yeah, right. Only the critical would read it and start demeaning threads and write disgusting blogs about it.

Those with an openness and a right spirit will not think twice about purchasing the book he spent much time putting together. Begrudging a person honest pay for diligent work is not Christ-like.

I don't know how you can assume that. Sure the scoffers will scoff, but there are a great many including myself who believe you should not have to pay money to hear a word of the Lord. These are the ones who won't hear it if he makes you pay first.

I have to agree. I am no huge fan of Kilpatrick or Steve Hill anymore, but I would not be critical of them just because they wrote a book and were selling it. However, when they insist on it being directly from God I think that is...well...self serving.

Not saying he is lying, but it just does not come across to me as completely genuine. (genuine as being genuinely from God)

again though...no offense

Every book I own contains a word from the Lord and I bought every one. Every author I have bought a book from deserves my money, and I am happy to give it. It is a more than fair exchange!

My own mother was given a major and unusual teaching from the Lord that helps many come to wholeness from childhood sexual abuse and incest. She conducted seminars on the subject and many people were helped, and bought her book, called, "Elizabeth's Legacy".

She died in 2004 and left us with hundreds of books. I sell them, but mostly I give them away for free to those who reveal a true need for deliverance in this area.

Should my widowed mother have given all her books away? NO. The Lord gave her something special and He gave her at the same time a way to earn a living while in ministry.

I agree and so does Scripture. You do not muzzle the ox that treads out the corn.

Like I said in my previous post, I'm not against selling books with divine inspiration in them. But I don't think she made sure everyone who heard what was in those books or seminars paid first. She probably shared some of it with friends and relatives who didn't pay a dime for it. Do you see the difference?
If John Kilpatrick truly wants this to go out into the body of Messiah, then he will post the word online for free or at least hand out free booklets wherever he goes.

Where in Scripture do you see a prophet charging for the word of the Lord?

Usually a book is ministry as in the case of your mother. It is akin to teaching from the pulpit and I certainly have no issue with a paid clergy. I do not think this is what we are concerned about here. This man claims to have a prophetic word that if true will have dire consequences to thousands of Americans. Does he not have concern for these people? Just a side thought, If he does not get the word to them and the prophecy is fulfilled is he liable for their doom and their suffering? This is an urgent word he says so. This is not some nice teaching that can be read and assimilated in the long term of our christian walk.
That is why I object to the price tag. He does have a right to have his needs provided for just like anyone else in minisry, He also has a right to ask us to support him in any missionary endeavor he cares to relate to us. It is between us and God whether we want to partner with him or not.

I will not comment on this video, or whether I think it is valid or not.

All I will say is that I am praying about it. God often gives warnings so we will know what to pray against. When a word comes forth, it is not always God saying "thus and such will happen, end of story" but he is giving us the chance to deal with it through prayer.

All that being said ...

I was an another forum some years ago, where a brother named ChuckH posted a warning about an earthquake, which he said the Lord showed him. I found myself thinking back to that warning, and went and found it in my files. I remembered that John Kilpatrick said the earthquake would occur along the New Madrid fault, and that Chuck had said the same thing.

I am not giving credence to the prophecy, only stating that this is interesting...

... there will be a massive earthquake on the New Madrid fault in the area of southeast Missouri. This is an area known as the "bootheel". The quake will register approximately 8.8 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the quake wil be near Portageville, Missouri. The following areas of the United States will be especially directly affected by this quake:

The extreme southern tip of Illinois near Cairo and Mound City; The western counties of Kentucky beyond Land Between the Lakes; The northeast counties of Arkansas along the Mississippi River; The northwest corner of Tennessee along the Mississippi River; Southeast Missouri including the "bootheel" and areas close by.

The worse potential damage will be within a radius of 60-65 miles of the epicenter. Paducah Kentucky is on the edge of this radius. We here in Louisville may feel the quake but we will not be in an area of heavy damage. The wisdom of God is to prepare prayerfully fo rthis day. If I lived in the areas close to the projected epicenter, I would at least pray over my belongings, turn off the gas to my home, and get away from the quake area before the day of the quake. This quake will make 9-11 seem small in comparison and will bring a change in the mentality of Americans. People will become more concerned about earthquakes than terrorism. False prophets will arise to confuse, but the true prophets of god will rebuke and refute the error of those who prophesy in a spirit of error.

It costs quite a bit to print and distribute a book.
It costs nothing but bandwidth and labor to publish an ebook.

If he really wanted to get the message out to a lot of people, as a Jonah-like prophet (okay, not Jonah), then YouTube would reach people the fastest. Viral marketing would reach them faster. Requesting a guest visit on an existing TV show would be free to cable viewers.

A man needs to be paid for his time, but it seems a prophetic word should be treated differently than a weekly sermon. There were kings who "kept" prophets. But no record of them paying per pop.

If we believe a prophesy is a direct and possibly urgent Word from God, then it should not limit access to people who cannot afford purchasing each message.

Publishing a book requires a lot of time, organization, layout, editing and proofreading, negotiating with printer and distributor, scheduling, warehousing, postage, advertising... it is a big chunk of time and money for whoever pursues it. The book needs a price, but did he need a book?

Maybe he just wasn't aware of the comparisons.
