Where does the Bible say that Adam ever received the Ten Commandments?

Ge 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Ge 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Not only did God BLESS His Sabbath day--but it says HE SANCTIFIED it the same day. IOW-the Sabbath was immediately set aside for special use--THAT VERY DAY! Not some 2,000 yrs in the future--but THAT VERY DAY.

I don't have to speculate that at that very same time that God forbid murder, stealing, baring false witness, idol worship or SABBATH breaking. These principles have been God's standards from day one. To imagine that these laws didn't come about for thousands of years after the creation are unreasonable and unbiblical.

As RND has pointed out-when did Abraham receive all those laws we are told he obeyed? When did Joseph understand that to have sex with another man's wife was a sin against God? We are not told these things, but because of those little tell-tale texts that Inspiration has placed 'here a little' and 'there a little'--we can ascertain that indeed they KNEW of God's laws way before Sinai.

The fact that the Bible called God's rest on the seventh-day a sabbath by using the hebrew word shabath is all the prove I need.

Also, the Paul said that Adam "sinned."

Rom 5:12 ¶ Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Rom 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no l

Rom 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.


The Bible says that "sin" is transgressing God's law.

1Jo 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.


Lastly, the Bible says that where there is law there is sin and where there isn't law there is no sin.

Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.


If we honestly add all this up that 1) Adam sinned + 2) He transgressed the law + 3) had knowledge of sin then we can only logically conclude that Adam knew the law of God.

Give it up RND. Until you come to the truth that you are running on conjecture and opinions not supported by the bible, you will never grow into the truth. The Holy Spirit of God only accompanies the truth of the gospel.

It has been ABUNDANTLY CLEAR to me over the past 35 almost 40 years that the SABBATH is at the heart of the SDA gospel. It doesn't take a 'non-SDA' rocket scientist to figure that out! So I'm not sure why YOU or the OTHER PERSON who reported my post would find that OFFENSIVE, or why it would be in need of ANY apology!

When the true GOSPEL is presented without JESUS CHRIST at its very CENTER, I'M OFFNDED! I shoud be the one receiving an apology! Shame on those who pose as being 'christians' who do NOT represent CHRISTIANITY well by presenting 'another gospel'!

JESUS is the point of the Gospel, not the sign of the old covenant! Get it straight!

Not at all (although I would disagree with your accusation of Jesus being 'proud'!). He clearly established that he had authority EVEN OVER THE SABBATH, A DAY WHICH MANY WORSHIP TODAY, INSTEAD OF THE CHRIST!

No, I'm simply suggesting that adam was never considered a Father of Israel. Abraham is considered the Father of Israel. That why he is called Father Abraham in scripture, and not Father Adam.

Give it up RND. Until you come to the truth that you are running on conjecture and opinions not supported by the bible, you will never grow into the truth. The Holy Spirit of God only accompanies the truth of the gospel.

It seems that you are the one AT giving up. I continue to use the Bible and solid verses to indicate clearly that God expressed (at least verbally) His laws to Adam and to each decendant thereof.

How did Cain know murder was wrong?

What laws, stautes and commandments did Abraham keep?

What laws did God use to determine the antediluvian people's transgression thus justfying their destruction?

How did Joseph know that adultery was "sin?"

Your suggestion and conclusion that the sabbath is at the center of my individual gospel was unnecessary, rude and completely uncalled for. You are making assumptions that are neither true nor fair to make considering the stands I have taken for the Gospel on this board.
