  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Mike Winger Offers $100K To Investigate Faith Healer Todd White

I've watched Mike Winger's apologetic and Bible teaching sermons for years and gained the upmost respect for his Biblically sound teaching/preaching. I've also watched his videos over the past few years on Benny Hinn, Todd White, Rob The Poligamy Guy, Brandon Biggs, Micah Turnbo, Bill Johnson, Shawn Bolz, and Bethel Church in general. I think his exposure of these frauds. is thorough, sound, and a necessary check upon the leaders of our Christian faith.

Most people won't have the patience or interest to delve into the cases YouTubers detail about false preacher/teachers of our day, but I'd encourage all believers to start paying more attention - particularly to any on the hit list influencing your faith personally. In other words, if you're one of the misguided sheep attending the wrong church, as millions are, you need to wake up and start being more discerning about what leader you're following. It's not hard finding the evil ones if you just care enough to look.

Kudos to Mike Winger and his good work.

Trump federalizing DC police, deploying National Guard in capital crime crackdown

D.C. went three weeks in 2026 without a homicide as violent crime drops
The president, police chief and D.C. Council members all say they played a role in reducing crime in the city. The reversal is in line with national trends.

There is no question that the crime drop has been dramatic in large cities that have fully cooperated with the Trump administration, such as Memphis and New Orleans.
It being the dead of winter didn’t have nothing to do with this stat?

Worlds Last Chance (group)

I visited their site quite often when I was finding my way back to faith, around 2016. I was trying to understand where Flat Earthers were coming from.

In those days they ran "courses" - series of articles with a quiz at the end. They were useful for gathering all the biblical "FE evidence" together. I remember there being courses on prophesy - Revelation, Daniel, and other topics. They were very keen on home churches, the writings of Ellen G. White, and something they called the Creator's Calendar - for calculating a Sabbath that reset every lunar month. I don't remember anything about Jesus not being God, that might have spooked me.

Most of their stuff didn’t take root with me, but my Faith in Christ strengthened, Glory to God.

I seem to remember there being some connection to an Asian businessman. Not Kim Dot Com, but I don’t remember a name. Critics at the time were saying the site was bankrolled by him as some kind of retaliation against the SDA. I don't know the truth there.
Thank you. It almost sounds cult like to me. I’m just glad there are those out there that know more of the background to this group. I had never heard of them before.

Protestant pastor expelled for refusing to participate in Catholic ritual in Mexico

Again, according to you; the Amish believe that even photographs of people are violations of the commandment against images. How could you justify your preferred kinds of images to them as not being condemned by this commandment? There's no record in the Bible of God commanding the creation of the likeness of a person. One could then argue that generic images of angels or plants might not be idols, but a picture of a specific person would still be condemned.

The point here is not to get into the weeds about arguing against a hypothetical strict Amish iconoclast, but to show that your definition of "idol" is arbitrary, or more specifically, circular, because you start with the assumption that images of saints are condemned by this commandment and then use the part about bowing down as your rule for what is and isn't an idol, so that what you want to be condemned is condemned, and what you want to be allowed is allowed.
The amish have it wrong, as do you.
And no, my definition comes from the context of scripture, which I can see you are unfamiliar with.
I'm merely applying the scripture and its meaning, as did the man they persecuted.

He wasn't born into a Christian family like I was, and for me, that does not compute

My parents were professing Christians but they didn't go to church and didn't live Godly lives.

I went to church by myself as a child. Other people lead me to the Lord. I have maintained my faith without my family.

God pursues people regardless of what their family does. Each person is responsible for their own decisions and we are all to work out our own salvation. That applies whether or not our parents raise us in church.

Is it easier? Maybe. As far as teaching and encouragement, it can be. Or if done in a bad way or a way the kid can't perceive what is meant, it might do more harm than good. I've known plenty of people who came to know the Lord or claim their faith as their own after leaving their family of origin or not having a Christian upbringing.

New believer looking for more of Christ!

My advice. try not to get too bogged down with 'theology'.....try to have an active relatinship with god, as opposed to following the law/theology.
The law killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

These are the commandments jesus says to do. you do this, and you will follow the 10 commandments.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
This is great advice!!! From the wise words of Jesus himself. :)
I appreciate your response and pray that you have a blessed evening. I will keep your words in mind and spirit as I continue on my journey with the Lord!

What am I doing wrong?

Is belief not a work?

Can satan believe? If so, is belief still sufficient?

It seems that there is more to a relationship with Jesus than just believing. The acts and submission that should follow, I would think, are more indicative of the relationship and salvation than belief.

Struggle feeling like a fake christian

Those things were just getting in your way. Blocking you. It’s a quick solution, but sometimes we need help. Forgive him, thank, it’s over. You not fake just following as best you can. The past is done when we repent.
Yeah it was a major block

The SSPX, the Truth, and Charity

In any event, after poring over thousands and thousands of pages and documents on the subject, I can confidently say that, generally speaking, the conclusion one comes to regarding the Society has, ultimately, little or nothing to do with Canon Law or the historical facts.

The Bell of San Remo

Growing up as a boy in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, there were nine Latin and three Eastern Rite parishes in our town. Most had bells, which meant they rang the Angelus at 6 a.m., noon, and 6 p.m. Every December 31, at midnight, they pealed to welcome the new year. And there was one other custom that involved bells: the passing bell.

3 Principles for Interpreting Scripture

The Catechism, following Dei Verbum, lays out three principles for reading the Scriptures “in the same Spirit by whom they were written” (CCC 111-14). Because these three principles immediately precede the account of the three spiritual senses (CCC 115-18), we ought to let them govern our use of the spiritual senses and act as a guard against whimsical or arbitrary interpretations, thereby keeping us within the richness of the Word.

Proposed 'Arc D. Trump' Monument Next to Lincoln Memorial Seen in White House Photos

A model on President Trump’s desk showing a new monument across the Potomac River from the Lincoln Memorial was photographed on Thursdayduring a meeting in the Oval Office with Finnish Prime Minister Alexander Stubb.

The arch bared a resemblance to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, which was built to commemorate French military victories and those killed in French military service.

According to the AFP news agency, the model was “virtually identical” to a design shared in the ‘Donald Trump for President’ Facebook page in September. The Facebook page suggested the monument could be built to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, which takes place in 2026.

State Department will memory hole X posts from before Trump returned to office; FOIA will be required to access them

The State Department is removing all posts on its public accounts on the social media platform X made before President Trump returned to office on Jan. 20, 2025.

The posts will be internally archived but will no longer be on public view, the State Department confirmed to NPR. Staff members were told that anyone wanting to see older posts will have to file a Freedom of Information Act request, according to a State Department employee who asked to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation by the Trump administration.

Accounts for embassies, ambassadors, bureaus affected

The State Department directive applies to all the department's active official X accounts, including accounts for U.S. embassies and missions, ambassadors and department bureaus and programs, according to screenshots of internal guidance seen by NPR. The department has used its posts on X and other social media sites for years to share everything from policy announcements and speeches by the secretary of state and ambassadors, to fact sheets for travelers and images from around the world.

'Marco Rubio has always been Secretary of State.'

Health and Fitness Goals

Egg bites or sheet pan eggs with cottage cheese. You can blend it and add it to pancakes/waffles as well or make your own protein powder to have on hand. There's recipes for online.

~bella
I do egg bites by whipping the eggs and adding my seasonings and cottage cheese and stuff, then putting it into a greased brownie pan.

Pentagon says it’s cutting ties with ‘woke’ Harvard, discontinuing military training, fellowships

A good move. Harvard has not had the best and the brightest for a long time.
It’s very nice to see that the Administration is open about its on-going viewpoint discrimination policies.

I need counsel

I need counsel. I have a husband in Texas. Our relationship is rocky and has caused me great harm. We had decided on divorce but never got the papers signed in time. It is important that we get divorced. He has cheated on me and I don't want to be in the relationship. I have a mother who lives in Missouri who I can stay with, although it's in a really remote area and she is pretty controlling. She is in need of deliverance, and I am too. The devil has been attacking my life through this marriage and it's gotten to the point where I have a bad gut feeling pretty much all the time. It's been this way for over a year, where I just have a bad gut feeling. My husband has been talking about not wanting to be alive and I'm worried he will harm himself. I know his life is unhappy because we are in a toxic marriage right now and it will get happy again. I am from Colorado and want to live there again, but I don't have much money right now. Should I move to Colorado and trust God to provide, should I move to my mom's where she can help me out, or should I be in Texas and maybe find an inpatient counseling center or mental hospital? I hear voices and know I have some demons. I cant live with my husband, I have tried that before but he has repeatedly kicked me out every time I tried. I am currently staying at the Dallas airport (I flew in from Missouri because I was staying at my mom's. I flew down because my husband lost his job and I was trying to help but I realized it's not a good thing for me to do given my own situation and having an unsteady job). The police have noticed that I've been here a few days and are threatening to arrest me if i don't leave. I'm not sure if I should stay here or go to my mom's or go to Colorado. My life has not been this messed up since I married this man. I've always had a place to live, a job, a car, no legal trouble, no big finance trouble. My life has been hell since being in this marriage.
You might be asking the wrong people.

Ask God.

God is the most wonderful Father that loves his children more than any earthly father can. Take time to get away and pray by yourself. Don't stop, pray every chance that you can, until you get an answer.

Not With Superiority of Speech

“For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Do not compare your gifts with Paul or feel inadequate. The Word teaches us that anything that shames does not come from God. If you speak half as well as you write, then you’re doing great. Your words are a good departure of what I typically see. You are correct, we are to be kind, not nice. Meek, not soft; humble, not weak. The truth is firm, & the wicked hate it, because God is the truth.

As far as improving your communication skills, there are some rules that I set for myself that have worked for me. Firstly, start with removing all vocal disfluencies or “filled pauses”; the um’s & uh’s. Better to let silence fill the space - gives the impression that your thoughts are impactful rather than scattered. Secondly, try not to use repetitive language. Find synonyms, be creative, & broaden your vocabulary. This alone will turn you into someone worth listening too. Lastly, it’s about rapport, if your goal is to be the best communicator one can be - there is one rule you must learn: people do not care how much you know until they know how much you care. Listen, then speak. Godspeed brother.

Hierarchy in truths censored

The bible calls four things truth, God the Father, God, the son, God the Holy Spirit, and the word of God.

Satan runs this world for now (Eph 2:2). Since he is the father of lies, one would expect the world to be filled with every imaginable deception. Most deceptions are designed to appeal to the flesh (greed, pride, fear, laziness, etc.)

The path to grow closer to truth lies in transitioning from the flesh to the Spirit
God alone is truth; sin is anything that contradicts God. Why separate the truth into four parts? There is only one truth because there is only one God.

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭6‬:‭4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
‭‭John‬ ‭17‬:‭17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I find this comforting because God alone is the substance of truth; everything else is true only insofar as it aligns with Him. Anything contrary to Him is by definition false.

I have a question... What do you guys think about the late Michael Heiser's work?

I used to look at his website and read his book "The FAcade" and also "The Portent" which both dealt with the UFO phenomenon. His opinion was UFO"S and their occupants were interdimensional and demonic and any physical aspects were black ops/secret human technology. The two working together. Interesting and his Divine Council was interesting.

Stealing from God's glory? I wanted to be famous for God.

In 1989, I went off to college at Liberty University to become a young champion for Christ. What I didn’t realize then that I realize now as a 54-year-old man is that my ambition may have been more selfish than noble. My goal was more misguided than godly. Truth be told, I wanted to be great for God for my own sake. I didn’t really want to magnify God’s greatness to the world.

I recently began this new Bible reading plan and came across Genesis 11:

“Then they said, ‘Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.’ And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of man had built. And the Lord said, ‘Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another's speech.’ So the Lord dispersed them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city. Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth. And from there the Lord dispersed them over the face of all the earth.”
Toward the beginning of time, humanity wanted to make a name for itself. If the truth be told, when I went off to college, I wanted to make a name for myself. I wanted to be famous for God. But did I want God to be famous in me?

Certainly, there are worse things to be famous for. But I have learned along the way that my desire to make a name for myself is futile, vain, and unproductive to the advancement of God’s Kingdom on earth. In Genesis 11, we see God sending a spirit of confusion over their lives so that they were dispersed and unable to do what they wanted to do. They wanted to make a name for themselves.
