  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Stealing from God's glory? I wanted to be famous for God.

In 1989, I went off to college at Liberty University to become a young champion for Christ. What I didn’t realize then that I realize now as a 54-year-old man is that my ambition may have been more selfish than noble. My goal was more misguided than godly. Truth be told, I wanted to be great for God for my own sake. I didn’t really want to magnify God’s greatness to the world.

I recently began this new Bible reading plan and came across Genesis 11:

“Then they said, ‘Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.’ And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of man had built. And the Lord said, ‘Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another's speech.’ So the Lord dispersed them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city. Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth. And from there the Lord dispersed them over the face of all the earth.”
Toward the beginning of time, humanity wanted to make a name for itself. If the truth be told, when I went off to college, I wanted to make a name for myself. I wanted to be famous for God. But did I want God to be famous in me?

Certainly, there are worse things to be famous for. But I have learned along the way that my desire to make a name for myself is futile, vain, and unproductive to the advancement of God’s Kingdom on earth. In Genesis 11, we see God sending a spirit of confusion over their lives so that they were dispersed and unable to do what they wanted to do. They wanted to make a name for themselves.

11 indicted in Chinese marriage fraud scam to gain US citizenship China used scheme to gain unauthorized access to military installations

Eleven individuals have been indicted in Florida for their alleged involvement in a conspiracy to arrange fraudulent marriages between U.S. citizens and Chinese nationals in order to obtain legal immigration status, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The indictment, unsealed this week, accuses the defendants of recruiting Americans, especially U.S. military personnel, to participate in staged marriages with Chinese nationals in exchange for cash payments.

The scheme allegedly ran from March 2024 through February 2025 and involved activity across several states, including Florida, New York, Connecticut and Nevada.

According to the indictment, one of the primary defendants, Anny Chen, 54, of New York, worked with others to recruit service members for sham marriages and helped coordinate photo sessions to create the appearance of genuine relationships.

Lawmakers gather for prayer, repentance in DC amid deep divisions: 'Holy desperation'

WASHINGTON — Lawmakers, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, joined Christians from around the country earlier this week at the Museum of the Bible for a national day of repentance, while highlighting the plight of persecuted Christians worldwide.

Speakers at the four-hour 2026 National Gathering for Prayer and Repentance, which was hosted by the Family Research Council (FRC) on Wednesday, also urged listeners to remember the Christian heritage of the United States and to return to God as the nation celebrates its 250th anniversary this year.

The View set to be investigated by FCC over 'bias' after hosting Democrat candidate

Talarico is running against another Democrat, so how is this a matter of "equal time"? The Fairness Doctrine has to do with matters of public debate. Talarico mostly speaks as a public intellectual, political strategist, and public theologian, not a debater.

The administration no doubt finds a man of faith that they can't buy to be threatening. He speaks with a moral clarity that the evangelical establishment in the US abandoned a long time ago.

Being Double-Minded

“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:5-8 NASB1995)

What is wisdom? It isn’t just knowledge, for there are a lot of people who have heads full of knowledge who do not exercise wisdom. For me, wisdom has always been applied knowledge, i.e. putting the head knowledge we have into practice, but the right kind of knowledge. So wisdom is exercising common sense and good judgment. And it is not just speaking the truth, but it is applying the truth to our daily lives. And it is seeking the counsel of God to make good, sound, and right decisions, which are well prayed over.

So, if we are lacking in wisdom, and so we ask God for wisdom, we need to mean it. We need to be sincere in our requests. And we should not be asking God for wisdom and then wait for him to respond before we decide whether or not we will accept his counsel. And asking God for wisdom is not to be some ritual we go through to give an appearance of seeking after God if we are not going to listen to what God has to say anyway. And there are people who do that, who say they prayed, but who then reject God’s counsel.

And that is called being “double-minded.” And that is like being on both sides of opposite ends of a see-saw (teeter-totter) going up and down in thought or belief or opinion. For to teeter is to stagger, to wobble, to waver, to sway, to falter, to vacillate, and/or to hesitate. And to totter is to falter, to stumble, and to flounder. And from a spiritual perspective that can mean to sin. For it has to do with not being steady in faith or in practice, but with vacillating back and forth between living for sin and for self and claiming faith in Jesus.

What this passage teaches us is that if we are those who “teeter-totter” as a matter of practice, and so we vacillate in belief and practice on a habitual basis, and so we pray for God’s counsel, but while we may decide not to take God’s counsel, that we are the double-minded, unstable in all our ways, who will not receive anything from the Lord. And I believe this includes salvation from sin and eternal life with God, too. For the double-minded are of two minds going back and forth between God and their sin, which is not of God.

For Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

For by God-gifted faith in Jesus Christ, which is not of our own doing, we are crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as slaves to righteousness in walks of obedience to God’s commands. We are no longer to permit sin to reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its desires. For if sin is what we obey, it results in death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it results in sanctification, and its end is eternal life with God (see Romans 6:1-23).

[Matthew 7:13-14,21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Romans 1:18-32; Romans 2:5-10; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; Romans 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10,19-20; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; 2 Corinthians 5:10,15,21; Galatians 5:16-24; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:17-32; Ephesians 5:3-6; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13; Hebrews 10:19-39; Hebrews 12:1-2; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 1:1-10; 1 John 2:3-6; 1 John 3:4-10; Revelation 2:1-29; Revelation 3:1-22]

So, don’t take God’s grace for granted. Don’t see God as a Genie in the sky just there to grant you your every request, regardless of how you treat him. Believe God and what he teaches us that faith which comes from God will result in us denying self, dying to sin, and following our Lord in obedience to his commands, in practice, or it is not biblical faith which saves. This does not make us perfect (1 John 2:1-2), but if sin is our practice, and not obedience to God, we do not have the hope of eternal life with God.

Broken Cord

Christ’s Free Servant, Sue J Love

Your bond is broken with your Lord and Savior
And your testimony is separate from Him.
Your words not matching your actions today.
Repent of your sin and bow down and pray.
Live what you testify in truth always.

Purity’s lacking in your life and witness,
For you profess one thing, but other you do.
Not moral, spiritual. Still of the flesh.
Not living in truth to what you confess.
Lying about it puts you in a mess.

Living a lie is your practice, ‘tis true of you.
Masquerade righteousness – none of it true.
Your heart is not given to your Lord God.
Because of how you live, you are a fraud.
Turn from your sin and give your life to God.

Asking for Wisdom is not efficient to what
We should expect.
Its not as if we have to find the right combination to attain it, when Gods Word
Tells us that Fear is the beginning of Wisdom.

People might wonder what does fear and God
Have in common, when it has everything to
Do with our faith, our belief in God, what He
Tells us we must do and not do, in all of our choices, in every decision, every friendship,
In our speech, in what we allow our eyes to
See, and to know the difference in what we
Dont.
There is nothing in our lives that is suppose to lack wisdom, because it governs everything.

We cant buy wisdom, we cant expect God
To give it to us just for the asking, why, because its there without our having to earn it, its there for the asking in the sense that
Its just there.

The problem of why people think they
Need to ask for it shows that they dont
Have the ability (yet) to find it, since
They dont realize how fear of God as
The way to attain it, its foreign to them
With that understanding.

Without a belief that God even exists, wisdom
Is unattainable, thats why without a true belief, what God says do or dont do wont even
Matter.

Please hold him and bless him today with healing. Please hear a mother's prayer. Please let me hear him laugh. He needs You. Please please help him. I ask in the name of Jesus. In money-based appointment, Trump taps GOP megadonor and art collector John Phelan, a man with no military experience to head up US Navy

Exclusive: Navy secretary John Phelan listed as passenger on Jeffrey Epstein’s private plane in 2006
The manifest lists Phelan alongside 12 other passengers including Epstein and apparently Jean-Luc Brunel, a French modeling agent and close associate of Epstein who was facing charges of sexual assault and rape of a minor when he was found dead in his prison cell in 2022. Brunel’s name appears to have been misspelled as “Jean Luk Brunnel” on the manifest.

Six names on the list are redacted. The flight left London traveling to New York on the afternoon of March 3, 2006.

A close friend of Phelan’s confirmed that Phelan was on board the flight, but emphasized it was the only time Phelan interacted with Epstein and that he was invited to fly by Bear Stearns CEO Jimmy Cayne, who died in 2021.
from the link:

Phelan, who was working in the financial sector at the time, did not know they’d be riding on Epstein’s plane until they arrived, Phelan’s friend told CNN. During the flight, Epstein pitched the other financiers on a tax concept that Phelan “had no interest in,” the friend said, and Phelan never spoke or interacted with Epstein again.

'Does DHS ever not lie?' Firestorm ignites as FBI blows apart ICE shooting narrative

The inconsistency was flagged by Cato Institute immigration expert David J. Bier, who told his followers on X that the affidavit shows an ICE agent shot a man while he was fleeing – not acting in self-defense – as DHS initially claimed.

“An FBI affidavit admits that an ICE agent shot a man while he was fleeing from 10 feet away, not--as DHS claimed--while the agent was being beaten with a shovel,” Bier wrote.

“This is part of a pattern where DHS's initial account of any controversy includes many inaccuracies,” he added in a follow-up post.

The revelation quickly sparked sharp criticism online.

“Does DHS ever not lie?” conservative analyst Bill Kristol wrote on social media Friday.

'White saviors'' use of whistles causes bitter internal rift inside anti-ICE movement

Organizations from Seattle to Maryland tell predominantly white activists to quit 'White Savior' behavior during ICE operations

Immigrant groups have a message for their mostly White allies: Quit blowing the whistle on ICE.

Fox News Digital has reviewed days of messages inside Signal chat rooms that reveal that a new internal feud has erupted inside the anti-ICE protest industry, pitting immigrant-led organizations against predominately White "rapid response" networks that have made whistle-blowing a dramatic part of anti-ICE protests.

In one dismissal, a "rapid responder" in Seattle reported back that "immigrant networks are being weird."

Groups from Seattle to Montgomery County, Md., are telling mostly White "rapid responders" to back off a dynamic described by activists as "White Savior," reminding them they are not cameo actors in an "action movie" against ICE.

Deity of Christ

Jesus is God the Son, the second person of our triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit

This is God speaking: Hebrews 1:8-9: But of the Son He says,

“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,
And the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom.
“You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness above Your companions.”

Jesus is called God.

John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:18 - No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.

John 8:24: Therefore I said unto you that ye shall die in your sins, for if ye do not believe that I AM, ye shall die in your sins.

John 8:58: "Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.'"

John 10:30-33: "I and the Father are one." 31 The Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32 Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?" 33 The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God."

Col. 2:9: "For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form."

Titus 2:13 - waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ

2 Peter 1:1 - Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ

Romans 9:5 - To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.

John 20:28-29 - Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Jesus Christ is God. He is the second person of our triune God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Even God the Father called him God (Heb 1:8-9). The Jews killed him because he claimed to be God.

In
December 2021, Mahmoud Mardani-Karaji and his brother Mansour were arrested by plainclothes officials, during a Christmas celebration at a house-church in Fooladshahr, Isfahan. They were later released on bail.

On 16 January 2025, Mahmoud and his brother Mansour were each sentenced to four years in prison, two years in exile, fined, and deprived of social rights for five years on charges of “propaganda against the Islamic Republic through promoting Christianity”.

Mahmoud began serving his sentence on the 16 December, 2025.

Prison Address:

Dastgerd Prison
Isfahan City,
Isfahan Province
Iran

If writing to a Prisoner of faith:

Please DO

  • Write in English and write as neatly as you are able to. Your letter must be legible to be translated (Many people study English, so there will often be someone to translate your letter).
  • Express your Christian love and tell them that you are praying for them (then do!) They, in turn, will be praying for you!
  • Keep your letter brief and loving – one page is enough.
  • Include Bible verses.
  • Hand write the address on envelopes accurately and mark it AIRMAIL; make sure the postage is correct.
  • You may include a snapshot of yourself, your family or your prayer group if you want to make your letter even more personal and special.

Please DON'T

  • Do not write about politics or criticise the government.
  • Never mention the source of your information or the name of any organisation such as Voice of the Martyrs. It is not dangerous for a prisoner to receive letters from an individual, but if an organisation is mentioned, they may be accused of links with “foreign organisations” and receive even harsher sentences.
  • Use words that might imply some kind of hidden activity e.g. “thank you for the Christian work that you have done in Vietnam” might imply that the prisoner had done some covert work for a foreign organisation to subvert the government.
  • Build up hopes and expectations of prisoners – and likewise, don’t make any offer of help unless you intend to act on it!
  • Use religious jargon, sermonize, or be presumptuous about the prisoner’s situation, needs or feelings.
  • Quote verses which refer to war, fighting, armour, weapons (eg ‘the sword of the spirit’, ‘fighting the good fight of faith’, ‘the armour of God’ etc).

Thursday 5 February 2026 – Iraq

Pray for Christian internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees in camps in Kurdistan and across northern Iraq who fled ISIS or the Syrian war a decade ago. Many were dependent upon US-funded aid which was cut abruptly and now have nothing and nowhere else to go. Pray too for those trying to help them, often volunteers with limited resources.

#48 in Christian persecution, Chad.

What does persecution look like in Chad?

In Chad’s unstable and increasingly authoritarian context, Christians – especially converts – face layered forms of persecution. Christians are subject to surveillance, harassment and arbitrary repression. Conflict in the southwest has stoked intercommunal tensions. Violence between Christian and non-Christian communities has resulted in displacement, property destruction and cycles of retaliation.

Islamic extremist groups, including Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), remain active around the Lake Chad Basin. These groups continue to attack Christian villages, burn churches and abduct believers, particularly in rural zones with limited state protection. Their actions contribute to insecurity and religious polarisation.

Additionally, authoritarian policies add additional pressure, and several factors like corruption and crime have made the rule of law less trustworthy.

Christian converts in Muslim-majority regions face threats, beatings and forced concealment. Even private worship can trigger punishment.

Who is most vulnerable to persecution?

In Chad’s border regions around Lake Chad, Islamic extremists, including Boko Haram, continue to operate, with foreign fighters expanding their reach. In central Chad, churches encounter opposition from followers of traditional African religions, who resist Christian outreach. Religious identity closely follows political geography: the north remains predominantly Muslim, while the south is mostly Christian. Muslim-background converts in eastern and northern Chad must worship in secret to avoid persecution and rejection by their families. Converts from traditional religions in the south face significant pressure to participate in non-Christian rituals.

Meet IDPs in Chad, worshipping after an attack

"For me as a Christian, the earth is an exile. But everything is good. We must walk from peril to peril."
IDPS IN CHAD AFTER AN ATTACK THAT LEFT 30 CHRISTIANS DEAD.

What has changed this year?

Chad climbed one place on this year’s World Watch List, as its persecution score rose slightly. Chad’s legal and political environment continues to be highly repressive, marked by hostility, restrictions on free expression and assembly, and widespread nepotism. In June 2025, several street evangelists were arrested and accused of espionage. Poverty is acute, and the country remains highly vulnerable to natural disasters and regional instability.

Although Chad is constitutionally secular, Islam is the dominant religion and permeates social and political life. Christians, who are often viewed as outsiders or aligned with foreign agendas, face hostility. In this climate, believers – especially converts from Islam – are subject to increasing pressure, including social ostracism, threats or physical attacks. Churches report tight surveillance, and evangelical communities often encounter barriers to registration. In the south west, tensions between Christian and Muslim communities have escalated into violence, contributing to broader insecurity and deepening mistrust. This year alone, there were several attacks and conflicts.

What does Open Doors do to help Christians in Chad?

Open Doors works through local churches in Chad to offer persecution-preparedness training, economic empowerment programmes and other support to help Christians understand persecution and remain resilient.

How can you pray for Chad?

  • Believers who follow Jesus in regions where Islamic extremists are active can be targeted for violence. Pray that God will change the hearts of these militants and that His people will be protected.
  • Christians in some parts of Chad who convert from Islam can face heavy pressure from their families and communities. Ask God to give these believers hope and peace.
  • Chad experiences instability in part because its neighbouring countries face violence and displacement crises. Pray that God’s hand will be on this part of sub-Saharan Africa, that His peace that passes understanding will help the church in Chad remain strong and show Christ’s hope to the whole nation.

Hope for the Image Making Golden Era

I'm an Adobe PS (Photoshop) and AI (Adobe Illustrator) free-user (20-plus Year Old Versions) software holder. Still functioning to grind-out whenever I choose to, by old-school and generate from what I consider, a time-honored workflow of my own sideline interest. With the advent of TI (technological integration) for your later, paid-subscriber releases, a whole new world of generating images for lack of a better word, puts to shame some of us of the outdated crowd. That being, older versions that aren't designed to accommodate today's TI. Yet, not entirely. I would suggest your chosen software's fundamental framework is essentially the same. You might ask, what scaled-back options do I have to avail some of TI tools in a limited capacity? For us free-user Photoshoppers (unconfirmed) is as follows,

Gemini - "While Photoshop 7.0.1 cannot run AI tools natively, its support for industry-standard file formats (like JPG, PNG, and PSD) allows you to use Google's tools as an external "AI lab" for your workflow.

Options for Limited Use
  • Manual External Generation: Use the Google Gemini web app or ImageFX to generate high-resolution images. Download these and open them in Photoshop 7.0.1 for manual compositing, color correction, or masking.
  • Vertex AI Studio (Web UI): Use Vertex AI Studio (Pay-per-use $0.02 to $0.04 per image) in a browser. It provides a simple user interface to generate, edit, and upscale images. Download the results and use them in the older software.
  • AI-Enhanced Upscaling: Use Google's Magic Editor or Google Photos AI tools to unblur or enhance a photo before importing it into Photoshop for fine-tuning.
  • Google Ads Asset Studio: If using Google Ads, use their Image Editor with Google AI to generate and edit background visuals which can then be exported for use in any version of Photoshop.
Workflow for Photoshop 7.0.1
  1. Generate: Create the base image or specific object (e.g., "a 3D golden trophy") in ImageFX.
  2. Export: Download the image as a high-quality PNG or JPG.
  3. Import: In Photoshop 7.0.1, use File > Open to bring the AI-generated asset into your project.
  4. Edit: Use the classic Magnetic Lasso or Magic Wand tools to isolate the AI subject from its background, as modern "one-click" subject selection is not available in your version"
With the glut of things offered today, it is wise to ask if there are financial requirements with any of your provider's options?

Ezekiel 23 and the NIRV Bible for Kids

People question the Song of Songs.
  • It is openly romantic and poetic
  • God is not mentioned by name
  • It reads like love poetry rather than law, prophecy, or doctrine
These features made some ancient readers uncomfortable, just as they do today.

The Song of Solomon actually isn't religious literature at all in the usual sense.

The king of Persia, likely Cyrus, wanted some explanation of what the Hebrew people were, that were his subjects, and the scribes in Babylon gathered the texts the had; the Song of Solomon was probably included simply because it was popular courtly literature among the aristocracy and elites taken into exile (much of Daniel is also court literature).
