  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Heresies that were otherwise orthodox

I'm kind of curious because the eastern version of iconoclasm during the 700-800s was otherwise orthodox. As I recall, one of their objections was that the church had the ultimate icon of Christ in the Eucharist, and that other icons weren't needed. For example, was Origen otherwise orthodox except for his universalist leanings?

(SDB) Seventh-day Baptist vs (SDA) Seventh-day Adventist vs (SEA) Seventh-day Evangelical Adventist vs (COG7) Seventh-day Church of God.

I have been thinking about becoming a Seventh-day Baptist. Recently Tall73 pointed out that the SDB do not have an official statement on Eternal Torment. This was the main thing keeping me from becoming an SDB. I thought they did. Now I am wondering if I should attempt to stay in the SDA church and make it SEA or just become SDB? what are the pro's and con's

Has another branch of the Human Tree been found?

"A fossilized jawbone discovered in a cave in eastern China bears a curious mix of ancient and modern features, according to a detailed analysis that compares it with dozens of other human specimens. The finding, published in the Journal of Human Evolution, indicates that the 300,000-year-old bone could have belonged to an as-yet undescribed species of archaic human".

Children’s book author who is charged with killing her husband now accused of witness tampering

Kouri Richins, the Utah widow accused of killing her husband with a fentanyl overdose and then writing a children’s book about grief, is accused of witness tampering, according to court documents obtained by CNN.

Richins faces murder and drug charges for allegedly poisoning Eric Richins with an overdose of fentanyl given to him in a drink the night he died. She has not yet entered a plea in the case and remains in custody, CNN previously reported.

On September 14, authorities searched her jail cell and discovered a six-page handwritten letter to her mother, Lisa Darden, with instructions for her brother to “testify falsely,” according to a motion for no contact order filed in a Utah court.

Whoever Follows Jesus Christ

John 8:12 ESV

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”

When we think of light in contrast to darkness, what do we envision? Most of us don’t see well in the dark, do we? We might run into things, trip over things, step on poisonous spiders, fall down stairs, walk in the wrong room, and go in the wrong direction, etc. And depending on where we are, we might get totally lost and may never find our way back home.

So, what does the light help us to do? It helps us to see so that, hopefully, we don’t face any of those catastrophes or uncomfortable and/or painful situations. The light helps us to see where we are going so that we don’t fall, and so that we don’t go in the wrong direction, and so that we don’t trip, and so that we don’t step on poisonous spiders, hopefully.

And I am speaking metaphorically here. And who or what else did Jesus say he was? He said that he was The Way, The Truth, and The Life. And he said that no one comes to the Father except through him (John 14:6). So the light is truth, and the light in the only way to God and to heaven, and the light is the life that God gives us and that only comes from him.

And the darkness is often used in Scripture to describe sin, wickedness, evil, hatred, violence, moral filth, disobedience, lying, cheating and stealing, etc. And the light is opposite of the darkness, right? So the light is all that is morally pure, upright, godly, righteous, honest, faithful, and obedient to our Lord and to his word. And the darkness opposes the light.

So, if we follow the light, we will not walk in darkness. And to follow Jesus is to walk the same road as him, to conform to his example, and to do what he says to do, i.e. to obey him. So this means that we will forsake our sins, leave them behind us, and now live morally pure, upright, honest, and faithful lives, in his power and strength, and as a matter of daily practice.

And if that is how we are living, by his grace, and in his power, then we are not going to walk in the darkness. We are not going to do deliberately and habitually and premeditatedly what we know is wrong, and is evil, and is hateful, and what we know is harmful to others, according to the word of God. And if sin is what we practice, it ends in death, not life eternal.

But if we walk (in conduct, in practice) in that light, in truth and godliness and righteousness and in moral purity and honesty, etc., in obedience to our Lord, in his power, by his grace, and in following him in the way that he leads us, then we have eternal life in him. We will not walk in sin. Sin will no longer be our practice. And so we will not perish in our sins.

But this doesn’t make us perfect people, for not one of us will be perfect until Jesus returns and he takes his bride to be with him for eternity, which is when our salvation will be complete, and providing that we are walking in the light and not in the darkness. For lack of perfection is never to be used as an excuse for deliberate and habitual sin against God and against our fellow humans. We must live holy lives in obedience to our Lord.

My Sheep

An Original Work / June 24, 2012
Based off John 10:1-18 NIV

My sheep hear me. They know me.
They listen to my voice and obey.
I call them and lead them.
They know my voice, so they follow me.
They will never follow strangers.
They will run away from them.
The voice of a stranger they know not;
They do not follow him.

So, I tell you the truth that
I am the gate, so you enter in.
Whoever does enter
Will find forgiveness and will be saved.
Nonetheless whoever enters
Not by the gate; other way,
He is the thief and a robber.
Listen not, the sheep to him.

Oh, I am the Good Shepherd,
Who laid his own life down for the sheep.
I know them. They know me.
They will live with me eternally.
The thief only comes to steal and
Kill and to destroy the church.
I have come to give you life that
You may have it to the full…

They know my voice, so they follow me.

Trump wrote to-do lists for assistant on White House documents marked classified: Sources

wow

As described to ABC News, the aide, Molly Michael, told investigators that -- more than once -- she received requests or taskings from Trump that were written on the back of notecards, and she later recognized those notecards as sensitive White House materials -- with visible classification markings -- used to brief Trump while he was still in office about phone calls with foreign leaders or other international-related matters.
notecards with classification markings were at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate when FBI agents searched the property on Aug. 8, 2022 -- but the materials were not taken by the FBI, according to sources familiar with what Michael told investigators.
When Michael, who was not present for the search, returned to Mar-a-Lago the next day to clean up her office space, she found the documents underneath a drawer organizer and helped transfer them to the FBI that same day, sources told ABC News......
Sources said that after Trump heard the FBI wanted to interview Michael last year, Trump allegedly told her, "You don't know anything about the boxes."....
Speaking to federal investigators, Michael recounted how, by late 2021, as many as 90 boxes of materials from Trump's time as president were moved into a basement storage room at Mar-a-Lago, and how -- as pressure from the National Archives mounted -- she and Trump aide Walt Nauta would bring boxes to Trump's residence for him to review.....
But then, according to what she told investigators, around the same time that the National Archives found nearly 200 classified documents in the 15 boxes and referred the matter to the FBI, Trump began to seem more reluctant to cooperate with the agency, and he asked Michael to help spread a message that no more boxes existed, sources said she recounted.
That's when Michael became concerned, knowing that scores more boxes were in the storage room, sources said. And as Trump continued to claim that there were no more boxes, Michael even pointed out to him that many people, including maintenance workers, knew otherwise because they had all seen that there were many more than 15 boxes, sources said she told investigators.
Smith's indictment against Trump alleges that Trump asked one of his attorneys at the time, "Wouldn't it be better if we just told them we don't have anything here?"

In other words, can't we just lie to them?

I think things are worse for him.

Is Pornography Really Wrong?
When it comes to porn, the question facing many men and women is simple: is it really wrong? Is it really that big of a deal? I mean, it’s just an image on a screen. It’s not someone I know, or someone I’m having an actual affair with, so I’m still faithful to my future (or current) wife. It’s just sexual release, like masturbation, and we all know that masturbation is not condemned in the Bible. It’s not even mentioned.
And isn’t sex a good thing, so what’s wrong in watching it happen? I’m just admiring beauty. And besides, I’m single, so what do you expect me to do with all this pent-up sexual energy? It seems like a safe release until I am married.
I’ve heard all of this, and more.
So, is it really that big of a deal?
Yes, and here’s why:
是的,我来告诉你为什么:
It is sexual sin. Jesus made it clear that when we give in to lust, it is akin to the act itself. It makes no difference whether you know the person or not; lust is not tied to relationship.
It is addictive. The ubiquitous nature of porn is new to our culture, and to human sexuality, but it is becoming increasingly clear that it is highly addictive in nature. As a result, it can not only begin to dominate a life, but can demand ever-increasing levels of exposure and ever-increasing degrees of experience to continue to stimulate.
It is degrading to women. In pornography, women are treated as objects. They are not fulfilling God’s dream for their life as His precious daughter, nor are they fulfilling His design for sexual expression and fulfilment. You are watching a woman who is being sinned against, treated in a way that is contemptible to her heavenly Father (whether she sees it or not – and the fact that many may not only adds to its tragic nature). And if you are a woman watching it for the men, it is equally degrading to them.
It leads to other sins. Studies are beginning to show that the effects of porn on men are more than temporary sexual stimulation: as they see women treated as objects, they begin to treat women that way. They become more sexually aggressive, leading to date rapes and expected “hook-ups.”
It harms your relationship with your current, or future, spouse. It is absolutely ridiculous to say that watching porn enhances a sexual life. Instead, it cheapens it. Those caught in its web testify to how porn quickly becomes a substitute for sexual intimacy with your spouse.
It desensitizes your soul. Sin of any kind desensitizes your spiritual life. Continued exposure to a sin such as pornography is like shooting novocaine into your soul. It deadens you and grieves the Holy Spirit in your life, forcing Him to withdraw His utmost filling in a way that diminishes His power and presence in your life.
It distorts sex. Nothing reduces sex to lust more than pornography. Yielding to such images is overwhelmingly addictive, like a narcotic that delivers a quick hit to the emotions or senses, but ravages you from within. It destroys real relationships, real intimacy, real sexuality.
I’m a missionary.
I talk with men who are dealing with the spiritual torment and guilt of engaging in pornography while trying to rationalize it away;
I talk with men who are having to fight it as an addiction;
I talk with men who are finding it is leading them to a warped view of women;
I talk with men who are experiencing its direct path to other sins;
I talk with men who are seeing its assault on their marriage;
I talk with men who are trying to awaken their souls from its deadening grip;
I talk with men who have distorted views of what sex is about.
I also talk to the wives of these men – I’ve seen the hurt, the betrayal, the wounding to intimacy, trust and self-esteem. And increasingly, I am having the same conversations with women who have become caught in its snare.
There is little doubt to those of us who work with people, and those who are themselves caught in its web, how pornography is destroying the sanctity of sex and the glory of marriage.
And we haven’t even broached what it is doing to the coming generation of men and women who have been exposed to it at the earliest of ages over multiple years.
So, is pornography really wrong?
IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY!
Blessings,

Romney is having his say....

He has a book out.

Almost every Republican shared his disgust with Trump.

Publicly, Mr. Romney has long been on an island in a party subsumed by Trumpism. Privately, he reveals, many of his colleagues, including Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the longtime Rep,,,ublican leader, are actually on the same page when it comes to his dim view of Donald J. Trump.
“Almost without exception,” Mr. Romney told Mr. Coppins, “they shared my view of the president.”
Mr. Romney kept a tally of his colleagues who approached him to privately express solidarity when he publicly criticized Mr. Trump, often saying they envied his ability to air his views. At one point, he told his staff, the list reached more than a dozen.
Mr. Romney also recalled a 2019 visit Mr. Trump made to the weekly Senate Republican lunch in the Capitol. The senators gave the president a standing ovation and were attentive and encouraging during his remarks about what he called the “Russia hoax.” They nodded when he said the G.O.P. would be known as “the party of health care” after they moved on from impeachment. But as soon as Mr. Trump left the room, the senators all burst out laughing......

Mr. Romney warned Mr. McConnell that their lives were in danger on Jan. 6.

In the days leading up to the riot, Mr. Romney received a warning about potential violence at the Capitol. He was concerned enough to text Mr. McConnell and share his fears.
“In case you have not heard this, I just got a call from Angus King, who said that he had spoken with a senior official at the Pentagon who reports that they are seeing very disturbing social media traffic regarding the protests planned on the 6th,” Mr. Romney wrote. “There are calls to burn down your home, Mitch; to smuggle guns into DC, and to storm the Capitol. I hope that sufficient security plans are in place, but I am concerned that the instigator — the President — is the one who commands the reinforcements the DC and Capitol police might require.”
Mr. McConnell never responded to the text.

He doesn't have a high opinion of J.D. Vance or of Pence.

What are the different branches Major Branches in Adventism

3. Evangelical Seventh Day Adventist (SEA)
  1. This is the branch of the Church that traces its roots back to the Seventh-day Baptist Church and the Convocation of Nov 1, 1843. When the SDB church fasted and prayed for the resurrection of the Sabbath in Christianity. Rachel Oaks, Fredrick Wheeler, Thomas Prebble, the Farnsworth Brothers, J.N. Andrews, & Joseph Bates, J.H. Waggoner. founded the Sabbatarian Adventist Movement.
  2. Evangelicals believe the SDA church was hijacked by James & Ellen White and advocate for the removal of Ellen White as any kind of Authority in the SDA church and the Free study of the bible without consulting EGW. The Messenger Party, The Marion Party. 1888 conflict & the King of the North & King of the South confusion, were all divisions because of Ellen G. White.
  3. Major advocates: Most of the Theology professors in the SDA colleges & universities are in some way Evangelical. Desmond Ford and Robert Brimsmead, openly Challenged the traditional views. They would be welcome in this branch.
  4. Major Publication & Media - Adventist Theological Society, Perspectives magazine.
  5. Major Theological Issues:
I. The Removal of EGW as a prophet and theological Authority.
II. Sabbath as a sign of the 1000 years of Christ's reign on earth in Jerusalem.
III. Return of Isreal as a sign of the End time and Christ's Return.
IV.the Lord’s Day is an additional festival, established by the Apostles to define the difference between Jew & Christian. We advocate for this as the major day of evangelism for the church. As Sunday day evangelism day.
V. Solomon as a type of Christ & Anti-Christ. 666. Roman Catholic Church and Church/State Alliance with Rome fulfillment.
VI. Satan in the pit, chamber of Darkness for 1000 years
VII. Soul Sleep - You have a soul that will die and be asleep until Jesus comes unless you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, then It will go to heaven upon Death.
VIII. Holy Health Care - We Advocate for Holy Health Care, the blessing of a healthy lifestyle, and a health care plan that focuses on healthy living. 3 John 1:2
IX. Prosparity - God has always wanted us to be “fruitful and multiply” which is the biblical expression for prosperity.
X. Evangelical View of the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is a model of God’s original plan for humanity. The Holy Place is a model of the Garden of Eden on Earth. The Most Holy Place is a model of the Throne of God in Heaven. When Christ went to heaven, he instituted a new sanctuary, with the church being the New Holy Place, which makes the Church the New Garden of Eden on Earth. This shows that Christ, as the New Adam, is restoring What was lost at the fall of the First Adam.

C. Major Advocates: John McLarty, Andy Nash, & J. David Newman.
D. Major Publication: Adventist Forums, Spectrum Magazine, Adventist Today (AT):

Adventist Today
Spectrum Magazine

Note: AT is a News Magazine. It appears liberal because of its broad reporting on events inside the SDA church from a neutral standpoint. That is not an indication of its theological viewpoint.

Note: A liberal may not exhibit all of these characteristics at the same time. To be considered Liberal, you need at least one or more.

Note: Liberal/Progressive: Liberal/Progressive SDA labels have undergone a revolution and swapped places. What was once considered liberal is now progressive and what is considered progressive is now considered liberal. This is primarily due to the lgbtq+ movement in Advent

6. Progressive Seventh-day Adventist - Progressive
  1. This branch is the newest. It follows the LGBTQ+ issues and the Social Justice issues of mainstream society.

Many of the issues that were considered Progressive are Evangelical, Such as the use of Contemporary Christian Music, Leading with the Gospel, the use of the bible only in worship, and Systematic Preaching.

Note: Liberal/Progressive: Liberal/Progressive SDA labels have undergone a revolution and swapped places. What was once considered liberal is now progressive and what is considered progressive is now considered liberal. This is primarily due to the lgbtq+ movement in Adventism

Letter from a prisoner

prison1.jpg

Got a letter from a prisoner

One of my faults in writing letters is that I tend to wait for a while before I write back. I was having a problem reaching a prisoner because they kept moving him, and so I got back three letters that were not forwarded. I kind of gave up, thinking, hopefully, that he was finally released. It turned out I was right. However, I did not find out in a happy way. He told me that he was ‘back’ in prison, this time for two years, which does not sound like a long time, but being locked up, I think it probably is.

I do not know how many times he has been locked up, but I think this his second time, if it was his third I believe the sentence can be much longer, and even for life. I do not know his crime, hardly look that up. I have only done it twice because it was something I needed to do.

I do believe that he is serious about turning his life around, but as some of the men I write to have told me, that they have serious impulse problems. I guess we all struggle with that but perhaps for some, it is a real problem.

Many of the men I write to come across as very intelligent, and some do indeed turn their lives around and never go back to jail. I believe that around 60 percent never return to prison.

I have an aspect of my interior that could be called lawless, and I guess that is one reason that I understand the need for discipline in my interior life, as well as for my dealings with those around me. Not sure we can get away from that need. Freedom is always doing what one wants. Compulsion plays a large role in our everyday lives, more perhaps that many would like not to think about. The road to freedom is a long one.

To love as Jesus loves, means that there is a need for self-knowledge, and inner strength to fight against our tendency to be self-centered and only concerned with those we know and love and forget the rest. Many would deny this, and if they do, I hope that they are right. However, I am not one of those good souls.

I believe that all those who seek to live a life seeking to help and serve others are responding to God’s grace. They are seekers, and Jesus promised that those who seek will find. A seeker will rejoice to learn the truth, those who do not seek, may hate the truth when presented to them. In the end we either bend our knee to truth in joy, or by necessity even if that truth is hated.

God’s grace keeps us from closing in on ourselves to the exclusion of others. Grace also puts a void into our hearts that won’t go away until we experience what is the only thing that can fill that void. That is the Infinite love of God, as shown to us by Christ Jesus.

There are two gates that we must enter. One is the gate of mercy, healing, and salvation, the other is the gate of justice. Mercy and justice are not opposed, but in the end, we choose one or the other.

When we pray, each time we open our hearts, our ability to love God and others grows, slowly perhaps, but grow it does. So, pray, open your hearts, and move forward in faith hope and love, watered by trust.-Br.MD

Regarding faith and neuroscience

I’ve seen plenty of atheist opinions on this, so I’m curious: what are some other perspectives on this because it can be used to back up ID but can also be used to back up materialism

Is it strange that Fox News and the Daily wire say Hunter is the son of the president?

I find it strange that Fox News still mention Hunter is the son of the president even though they mention his name multiple times a day

It is sort of like saying Hunter Biden is the son of the president of the United States of America a country mainly in North America with 50 States

Constitutionality of Biden's Impeachment

So something occurred to me. Most of the talk about impeaching Biden is around his supposed actions as Vice President right? But he's no longer Vice President. And many Republicans claimed during Trump's second impeachment that he couldn't be impeached or tried because he was no longer in office. So doesn't that mean that Biden can't be impeached for anything that may have happened when he was VP?

Encountering God in a backyard garden: I’m worthwhile to Him

All the time, the pruning, and effort -- God thinks we are so worthwhile. Are we going to let God take care of us in His garden today?

The smell of chili spice wafted through the garden as I collected Sunday’s harvest into the upturned bottom half of my oversized shirt. I tiptoed around my backyard, feeling the cool earth between my toes as the morning sun kissed my face. In the kitchen, I peeled tomatillo husks and diced cherry bomb peppers as I looked out the window to the rest of the ripening patch. While the garden was once nothing more than a menagerie of seeds planted haphazardly in tilled soil, it is now where my labor was coming to fruition, literally. I was making my first “garden to table” recipe: a humble bowl of salsa.

Please pray

Please pray that I make the right decision about keeping a car appointment for brake repair and other issues in a couple of hours. My wife has a dental appointment tomorrow and has been blaming me in part for dizziness and vertigo she has been experiencing and will probably cancel that appointment. It seems that she likely does not want me keep my car appointment which is critical and not easily rescheduled because she wants me around because of her symptoms. However I think she will be fine. She is sleeping and normally wakes in the early afternoon and I must leave at 1PM. Pray that I make the correct decision. I realize that this request is probably confusing but please pray.

In the NT, Slavery is broadly condemned.

Slavery is condemned broadly under commandment "Thou shall not steal." All Christians are not to take our neighbors person, property or money by force or dishonest dealings, but help him keep his own individual life, and protect his property and business.

Secondly, Christians are forbidden to be apart of the slave trade. The Biblical term for this is "men stealing" ἀνδραποδιστής in 1 Timothy 1:10.

And thirdly in James 5:1-6, slavery is condemned as "theft of labor." "Theft of labor" is one of two sins that cry out to God. (The other is murder in Gen. 4). It is a grievous sin. Why? It destroys human creativity. Each person is uniquely created by God with specialized gifts in intellect, talents and abilities. A slave is forced to give up what God has uniquely gifted him/her for his slave master. Freedom allows mankind to live as God intended and gifted them to live.

What is "Faith"?

Faith Part 1

Basic Form
Negative Form
Noun
πιστ-ις: “confidence”, “trust”, “faith”
α-πιστ-ια: “unfaithfulness”, “distrust”, “doubt”
Verb
πιστ-ευω: “to trust”, “to rely on”, “to believe”
α-πιστ-εω: “to refuse to believe”, “to be distrustful”, “to be unbelieving”
Adjective
πιστ-ος: “trusting”, “faithful”, “trustworthy”
α-πιστ-ος: “distrustful”, “unfaithful”, “unreliable”

Let’s consider the Greek word in the New Testament that we translate faith. That word is πιστις. Don’t worry if you can’t read it. Just look at the first four letters, πιστ-. This is the stem, and it carries the meaning of the word. In this case, the stem means “faith”. The last two letters, -ις, form the ending. Greek endings differentiate parts of speech. In this case, the ending tells us that Πιστις is a noun. The same stem with the ending, -ευω, is a verb. With -ος as its ending, it is an adjective. In Greek, to form the negative of a word they may add an alpha-prefix (α-). This is like our word atypical, which means “not typical.”

Look at the noun, verb, and adjectival forms of the Greek word for faith in the table above.https://www.christianforums.com/#_edn1 Notice that the stem (πιστ-) is the same in each instance, and that the negative forms all have the alpha-prefix (α-).

I am showing this table, in spite of the fact that most readers probably do not know the Greek language, in order to help clarify the meaning of faith. Faith can be mysterious and hard to understand, or twisted, and made even harder to understand. But this table makes it clear that if a person has faith, it simply means that he has confidence or trust in someone or something. To be without faith means that he lacks confidence or that he refuses to believe. And a faithful person is someone who trusts someone or something, or one who is trustworthy. He is the opposite of one who is distrustful or unreliable.

As faith relates to our interaction with God, it means that we trust Him, rely on Him, and have confidence in Him. Faith towards God does not start with us, but always starts with Him. He communicates with us (and on our behalf to the Father) in words that defy speech (Rom. 8:26), and He lets us decide how we respond to Him. If we receive and believe what He says, then we respond in faith. If we reject what He says or refuse to believe, then we respond in unbelief. Therefore, faith is not mysterious or hard to understand. Faith simply means that we believe God when He communicates with us.

Hunter Biden sues the IRS, alleging agents illegally released his tax information

CNN —
Hunter Biden sued the Internal Revenue Service on Monday, alleging its agents illegally released his tax information and that the agency failed to protect his private records.

President Joe Biden’s son alleges the IRS unlawfully disclosed his tax return information and did not establish safeguards to ensure the confidentiality of his records. He is seeking, among other things, all documents involving the disclosure of the tax information, $1,000 for each unauthorized disclosure and attorneys fees.

This one has the potential to create some odd allegiances and strange bedfellows situations. We know some folks on the right don't like Hunter, but they also don't like the IRS.

Liberal Thinkers

One of the definitions of liberal in the Webster's Dictionary reads:
One who is open-minded or not strict in the observance of orthodox, traditional, or established forms or ways

I believe this might be a good general definition of what liberal means. However, in the last few years, it seems that with this we might tack on some other things such as "trust the government/science" and being "tolerant" of different ideas (as long as you don't disagree with them).

There are some major problems I see with being a liberal thinker. The problem is not exclusively being "loose on crime." Rather, it is a mindset that seems to just swallow the pills of whatever it is the current culture is jamming down our throats. It's a very "progressive" type of mindset, meaning, they think there is this kind of progress that is made with humanity especially relating to morality. This is a huge blindspot for them IMO. People are as wicked today as they were at the time of Christ, if not more. Perhaps they are not as violent in the Western world (though sports like UFC would probably like to have a word about this), but they make up for it with gross amounts of hedonism, entitlement, arrogance, disrespect, callousness, and recklessness (2 Timothy 3:1-5). In short, it's all about me to them. Gen Z is probably the most selfish generation ever to walk the face of the earth. Constraints are good and right. Not "Law" but self-control. IMO, we should blame the internet. While the internet can be a great good, I sometimes wonder if my life would be better without it. Social media seems to reward this selfish behavior.

So I ask: what can we do about this? Does anyone have any ideas?
