They Have Forsaken the Lord

“Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth;
for the Lord has spoken:
‘Children have I reared and brought up,
but they have rebelled against me.
The ox knows its owner,
and the donkey its master's crib,
but Israel does not know,
my people do not understand.’
“Ah, sinful nation,
a people laden with iniquity,
offspring of evildoers,
children who deal corruptly!
They have forsaken the Lord,
they have despised the Holy One of Israel,
they are utterly estranged.” (Isaiah 1:2-4 ESV)

The children of Israel were in a unique situation unlike we who believe in Jesus Christ are today. For they were God’s chosen people by physical birth as physical descendants of Abraham and Sarah. But this did not mean that all of them believed in the Lord with genuine faith, and it did not mean that all of them followed the Lord in righteousness and in holy living and in obedience to the Lord and to his commands. And that was evident, too, during the time that they wandered in the wilderness for forty years.

Now we are God’s chosen people only by genuine faith in Jesus Christ, a faith which is evidenced by us dying with Christ to sin and us living to God and to his righteousness. But it is possible for a true believer in Christ, at some time in his life, to wander and to need to be brought back into fellowship with the Lord. And we do have many professers of faith in Jesus Christ, too, who give lip service to him only, but who have never died to sin and who have not, thus, been born again to new life in Christ.

So, presently within the gatherings of the church we have those giving lip service only to the Lord but whose lives have never surrendered to Jesus Christ. And we have those whose lives are committed to the Lord to walking in faithfulness to God and in holy living. And we have those who once walked with the Lord in holy living but who have fallen back into sin and who are presently wandering like many did in the wilderness. And then among us are also those who have never made a profession of faith in the Lord.

But the people being spoken of here, in today’s world, are those who have knowledge of God and of his word and of what he expects of us who profess him as Lord and Savior. They are not the spiritually ignorant, but they are the spiritually void of genuine faith and/or of walks of obedient faith in the Lord Jesus in holy living. Many of them are wandering. Some of them make strides towards obedience to the Lord, but in the flesh, and so they always fail. They always come up short because they are not yielded to God.

So these are people like the Israelites who wandered in the wilderness for forty years, who did not obey the Lord but who went their own way, instead. They know the truth, but they are avoiding having to obey the truth. For they are those who, even though they know the right way, have chosen to go the wrong way, for they are those who desire evil and not God, and not his righteousness and holiness. For they are the sexually immoral, the idolaters, the revelers, the worldly, and the rebellious who go their own way.

But they are also the unsettled, always looking for something that will satisfy the deep longings of their souls, but who are looking for fulfillment and peace and satisfaction in all the wrong places. They know the right way, and they know what they need to do to walk in the ways of the Lord, but they continue to go the wrong way, instead, for that is what their flesh craves. That is what their hearts really desire. And they don’t follow the Lord because they know that means giving up their sins. So they don’t.

“Why will you still be struck down?
Why will you continue to rebel?
The whole head is sick,
and the whole heart faint.
From the sole of the foot even to the head,
there is no soundness in it,
but bruises and sores
and raw wounds;
they are not pressed out or bound up
or softened with oil.
“Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
cease to do evil,
learn to do good;
seek justice,
correct oppression;
bring justice to the fatherless,
plead the widow's cause.” (Isaiah 1:5-6,16-17 ESV)

Those who know the way of righteousness but who refuse it are miserable people. They are the wanderers in the wilderness who know there is a promised land on the other side, who can see it, and who sometimes make strides that direction, but who ultimately fail because they are still walking in the flesh, still trying the “my do it” approach that never produces anything good. And it is because they don’t want to let go of their pride and their lusts and their sinful practices. But we cannot live in both worlds.

So they are not at peace. They are unsettled in heart and mind. They are the angry, the resentful, the bitter, the unforgiving who hate what they cannot achieve themselves in the flesh. And so they hate those who are walking in holiness and in righteousness and in obedience to the Lord. For the truly righteous are an offense to them. For the truly righteous are always a reminder to them of where they should be but are not. And that bitterness comes out in how they may treat those who are walking in faith.

And so the counsel here to these wanderers is to wash themselves, not physically, but spiritually, and not in their own strength and power, but by yielding control of their lives over to the Lord to now submit to his will and purposes and to walk in his ways and in obedience to his commands. But this involves them first dying with Christ to sin so that they can be reborn of his Spirit to new lives in Christ. And then they can walk in his ways in his power by the grace of God in the strength of the Lord.

Seek the Lord

An Original Work / July 20, 2012
Based off Isaiah 55

“Come to Me all you who thirst; come to waters.
Listen to Me, and eat what’s good today,
And your soul will delight in richest of fare.
Give ear to Me, and you will live.
I have made an eternal covenant with you.
Wash in the blood of the Lamb.”

Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him.
Let the wicked forsake his way, in truth.
Let him turn to the Lord, and he will receive mercy.
Freely, God pardons him.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,”
declares the Lord, our God.

“My word that goes out of My mouth is truthful.
It will not return to Me unfulfilled.
My word will accomplish all that I desire,
And achieve the goal I intend.
You will go in joy and be led forth in peace.
The mountains will burst into song… before you,
And all of the trees clap their hands.”

Hunger and Homelessness

I am bothered by the hunger and homelessness in America. I believe part of the problem is the Federal reserve's monetary policy from the GFC. They kept interest rates low which allowed corporations and investors to buy up assets thus creating inflation. Home prices has risen thus causing property taxes and insurance to increase thus hurting people who were living paycheck to paycheck. Then we had COVID.

"One out of every five children in the U.S. does not have enough food to eat, but the reality of the suffering that is now taking place just isn’t sinking in for many of those that are still living the high life.

Meanwhile, homelessness in the U.S. is increasing at the fastest rate ever recorded…"

Practical First John 3:1-10

Let's discuss this the practical good points of these verses for Christ's coming.
First enjoy the reading of section.

Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and we are. Because of this the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

1J 3:2Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been manifested what we will be. We know that if He is manifested, we will be like Him because we will see Him even as He is.

1J 3:3And everyone who has this hope set on Him purifies himself, even as He is pure.

1J 3:4Everyone who practices sin practices lawlessness also, and sin is lawlessness.

1J 3:5And you know that He was manifested that He might take away sins; and sin is not in Him.

1J 3:6Everyone who abides in Him does not sin; everyone who sins has not seen Him or known Him.

1J 3:7Little children, let no one lead you astray; he who practices righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous;

1J 3:8He who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

1J 3:9Everyone who has been begotten of God does not practice sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been begotten of God.

1J 3:10In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest. Everyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, neither he who does not love his brother.

Prayers for Wisdom with my Wealth

So I'm at that noble "young adult" stage, just getting set with a good job, but my expenses are still really low. So I don't have terribly much money, but I'm making more than I spend...so in the grand scheme of things, I'm filthy rich.

So I ask for prayers...for myself, and for all others who are rich in our own ways. Wealth can do weird things to people, and I seek wisdom to make good use of what God has brought me. It'll be a bit trickier to do generous things, as I've recently been scammed by someone I thought I could trust...but God makes the sun shine on the just & the unjust, and I don't want a prolonged encounter with evil to conquer the good that lives in my soul.

Thank you all

Why did God Punish Snakes Instead of Satan?

Genesis says that the snake, or serpent, was an animal. It was smarter than other animals, but still an animal.

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild
animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman,
“Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the
garden’?
Genesis 3:1 NIV

Yes, it says the serpent was a wild animal. If I say that the snake in the Garden of Eden story is an animal many people think I an introducing some kind of newfangled revisionism. They have been told that the serpent is the Devil, Satan. At the end of the same chapter, God pronounces punishment on the serpent, to be borne by all other serpent until the end of time.

So the LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have
done this, “Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the
wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat
dust all the days of your life.”
Genesis 3:14 NIV

At the end of Genesis 3, the serpent is still a wild animal. The serpent is cursed to lose its legs, and crawl on the ground.

Everyone tells me that the Devil tempted Eve. I’m not sure if the Devil turned himself into a snake, or if he possessed the snake and spoke through the snake. Either way, this poses a question. If it was the Devil who tempted Eve, why did God punish the serpent?

Are you in an Anti-Free speech state?

For years, we have discussed the alarming shift in the Democratic party on free speech with candidates running on pledges to censor opposing views and politicians supporting blacklisting and censorship on social media. Many citizens oppose such efforts to restrict their rights under the First Amendment, but are unaware of the work of their representatives to limit free speech. Now, a filing in the Supreme Court supporting censorship efforts by the Biden Administration has supplied a handy list of the anti-free speech states for citizens.

The 5th Circuit previously ruled in Missouri v. Biden that administration officials “likely violated” the First Amendment and issued a preliminary injunction banning the government from communicating with social media companies to limit speech.

Not surprisingly, the state of California is leading the effort to get the Supreme Court to reverse a decision enjoining the government from censorship efforts. California has long sought to impose speech limits on doctors, businesses, and citizens to silence opposing viewpoints.

However, 23 Democrat-led states joined this ignoble effort in signing on to the brief of California Attorney General Rob Bonta. The brief lauds past efforts of these states to combat “harmful content” on the Internet and to protect the public from “misleading information” through partnerships with social media companies.

So here is the list to see if you are residing in an anti-free speech state:

Kentucky man arrested after allegedly strangling priest during church service

WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man was arrested after he allegedly walked into Saint Michael's Parish Catholic Church in Sebree, Kentucky, and strangled the priest.

According to an arrest citation, on December 23, Steven Sargent walked into the church only wearing a t-shirt and underwear.

When arriving on the scene, officers say Sargent was yelling, causing several children to cry.

The priest told officers that "Sargent walked into the church and began yelling and saying disrespectful things about the religion." He says that he approached Sargent and told him to leave. According to the arrest citation, Sargent then "hit the priest in the chest and put both hands around his neck and began strangling him."

The arrest citation states that three men in the church restrained Sargent until police arrived.

Preamble to Decoding the Word of God from Nature

I decided to expand the reach following the request of members to do so, especially the science-based sections of our Forum.

Trinitarian Doctrine

Trinitarian Doctrine is the format of the Word of God used to make the elements of nature across the universe. It occupies the apex level of the Word of God. This is because its teaching mainly by Jesus Christ Himself is about the Life of God the Holy Trinity. It was mainly and directly used by God to construct all the elements of nature.

The Holy Trinity employed the Trinitarian Doctrine to construct different dimensions of the universe as the building blocks of creation. For instance, the Atom is the building block of nonliving things; the DNA is the building block of living things; the Solar System, a stellar system, is the building block of the galaxy; the Family Unit is the building block of society; and the Human Spirit is the cell of the spiritual realm.

Preamble to Decoding: What are the Parts of the Life of God Exposed by Science?

The Life of God the Holy Trinity imprinted in nature is in two parts. Part One is the internal Divinity of God the Holy Trinity, and Part Two is the external Mission Activity of the three Divine Persons. These two aspects of their Life are beautifully structured by them in the image and used in constructing all the building blocks of nature across the universe. Such can be decoded from nature.

Overview of Scientific Aspect of the Process of God’s Creation of the Universe

By facts of science, God is the Creator of all that exists so long as it is made up of the Atom or the DNA. Now, a common question – why is there something rather than nothing? Did the cosmos spring itself out of nothing? These unsettling questions demand answers.

To create or manufacture, there has to be “conception”, "construction" and "presentation" of a model as reflecting the idea of the maker. This is how God's image is reflected in the micro or macro of all that exists.

The Conception of God's Image in Nature

There is a need to pose guides in the mystery of creation:

1. Except for the eternal, anything else to exist ought to carry the image of only what already exists.

2. The unique image of a known person seen cast into nature confirms such as existing already.

3. God's unique signature found in all creation presupposes His having made them.

Construction of God’s Image into Nature

Starting from the Bible, God said, “Let there be…”; “Let us make…” (Gen. Chapt.1). That is the collective voice of three Divine Persons in operation.

They constructed nature. Its facts are now seen all over the universe.

Presentation of God’s Image as Reflected from Nature – Findings in Subjects

Five Trinitarian building blocks of creation now reflect God's decoded image. They are the Atom for nonliving things under Chemistry; the DNA, for living things under Biology, the Star – a stellar system like our Solar System for the galaxy under Physics; the Family Unit, for society under Sociology; and the Human Spirit, a spiritual cell for the spiritual universe under Art - Christianity.

Other Trinitarian Doctrine subjects include: To determine different aspects of the Divine nature, we use Mathematics; to access Divine digital codes in biological cells, it is treated under Information Technology; and to determine the Divine Personality features and His language structure, it comes under Psychology; to carry out Scientific Research on Jesus Christ, His past and activities in the Church, it is treated under Scientific Christology and History, and then the host of all the subjects stands as Trinitarian Doctrine under Christianity.

The next post will be crucial. The core of the Holy Word as a format used in constructing the building blocks of nature will be presented. We must pay attention to it and learn it. It is the summary of God’s Life.

The structures of the Doctrine of the Life of God the Holy Trinity used in the construction of everything in nature will be delivered. The core of the Doctrine will form the doctrinal structures. Such will be drawn into a Table that will be used to dissect the Atom which will also be summarized into a Table.

The logical problem with Calvin and Calvinism

350 BCE, Aristotle discovered logical syllogism.

1854, George Boole published "An Investigation of the Laws of Thought" and started Boolean propositional logic.

1879, Gottlob Frege laid the groundwork for First-Order Logic. FOL underpins all modern science and mathematics.

1559, John Calvin finalized and published his Institutes. At best, in terms of logical reasoning, he could only analyze the scriptures using Aristotelian logic and contemporary scholastic rhetoric, which lacked the formal precision endowed in FOL. His systematic theology lacked the rigor and precision afforded by the modern axiomatic argumentation system. People often conflate logic and rhetoric.

E.g., Institutes, Book II, Chapter 1, Section 8:

Original sin, therefore, seems to be a hereditary depravity and corruption of our nature.
Calvin did not use "therefore" in the first-order logical sense. The words "therefore" and "seems" do not go together in their FOL senses. The word "seem" carries subjective evaluation. FOL's "therefore" carries objective precision. He did not think according to the precise syntax of FOL. No one did in the 16th century.

An example of such Calvinism logical flaw is double predestination. Try to prove that double predestination is true strictly by FOL and you will see.

Similarly, since the time of Frege, many theologians have not been trained in FOL. They suffer the same handicap. Aristotelian syllogism is a primitive precursor of FOL. (See appendix below.) There is now a more articulate and comprehensive logical system.

John Calvin used Aristotle's logical system, which was okay. I prefer the more up-to-date First-Order Logical system when I argue. Simpler logical systems are fine when I am not engaging in argumentation.

Appendix: Reformulate a syllogism into FOL
All humans are mortal.
Socrates is a human.

Using Aristotelian syllogism, we can draw the following conclusion:

Socrates is mortal.

Now, let's rewrite the above using the FOL syntax.

∀x (Human(x) → Mortal(x))
Human(Socrates)

From these statements in FOL, one can logically infer:

Mortal(Socrates)

Thinking about going to church

So, I used to go to church almost every week when I lived with my mom. I moved out years ago, and my church attendance has decreased. Nowadays, I only go to church whenever I happen to be visiting my mom. I want to change this.

The problem is, I have pretty bad anxiety. It's mostly generalized anxiety, but social anxiety is the main problem. The thought of showing up at a new church out of the blue is daunting to me. I know that most churches are welcoming of newcomers, but I still can't shake the anxiety.

I'm Baptist, but I'm not going to rule out Wesleyan-Holiness denominations as well. While I am a credobaptist and Congregationalist, they aren't hills I am dying on. The only issue I have with Holiness dominations is that allow ordained femal clergy.

Democratic mayors renew pleas for federal help and coordination with Texas over migrant crisis

So let me get this straight. Liberal democrats want more immigration, but when they get it, they complain and ask for assistance from the federal government. But they want more illegal immigration anyway, despite the fact that the issues with unfettered immigration are obvious and they acknowledge them. Someone explain their brains to me.

CHICAGO (AP) — The mayors of Chicago, New York City and Denver renewed pleas Wednesday for more federal help and coordination with Texas over the growing number of asylum-seekers arriving in their cities by bus and plane.

The mayors’ requests come as U.S. cities have struggled to manage the increasing number of migrants sent from Texas and other states. Republican Gov. Greg Abbott’s busing operation has transported more than 80,000 migrants to Democratic-led cities since last year. His administration recently stepped up the practice with chartered planes.

The mayors sharply criticized Abbott and the effort, saying buses arrive at all hours and outside designated drop-off zones with no details on who is aboard.

“We cannot allow buses with people needing our help to arrive without warning at any hour of day and night,” New York City Mayor Eric Adams said at a virtual news conference with the other mayors. “This not only prevents us from providing assistance in an orderly way, it puts those who have already suffered in so much in danger.”

Chicago has cracked down on so-called “rogue” buses, with lawsuits, fines and tickets. In recent weeks, buses have tried to avoid penalties by making unscheduled drop-offs in the suburbs, forcing local officials and authorities to step in. Recently, one bus unloaded migrants overnight at a gas station in Kankakee, roughly 70 miles (110 kilometers) from Chicago.

“The lack of care that has been on display for the last year and a half has created an incredible amount of chaos,” said Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson. More than 26,000 migrants have arrived in the city since last year.

Adams said New York City would put similar rules in place as Chicago and announced an executive order Wednesday requesting buses arrive only between 8:30 a.m. and noon on weekdays at a single drop-off site, or face fines, lawsuits or buses being impounded. Denver has similar rules on weekday drop-offs during specified hours.

In New York, more than 161,000 migrants have arrived and sought city aid since spring 2022, including 4,000 just last week, Adams and other officials said earlier in the week...... continued

Ohio governor Mike DeWine (R) vetoes ban on gender-affirming care for minors

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) struck down a bill that would have banned gender-affirming care for minors, preserving such care for residents beyond his state as well, because families of transgender youths who live in states with bans have been traveling to Ohio for treatment.

Republicans, who have a supermajority in the legislature, could override DeWine’s veto and are expected to push back.

“These are gut-wrenching decisions that should be made by parents and should be informed by teams of doctors who are advising them,” DeWine continued. “Were I to sign House Bill 68, or were House Bill 68 to become law, Ohio would be saying that the state, that the government knows better what is medically best for a child than the two people who love that child the most: The parents.”

Painting Sunflowers for the Ukrainian People

Bright yellow sunflowers set against a blue sky is one of many new murals blossoming on the Arkansas River Levee in Pueblo. It’s a mural dedicated to the people of Ukraine.

“I don't know if that does anything to the universe, but I hope so,” said Shannon Powers. “You know, just the feeling that there are people out there that care about you when you're suffering, I think is important.”

Powers is among the handful of artists working on the sunflowers. Longtime Pueblo Levee Mural coordinator Cynthia Ramu organized this group effort.

With so much controversial news about Ukraine and much of it not very supportive I found this to be a bit of encouragement and comfort.

today's slavery vs slavery of the 1800s

If people have so much issues with the slaves of yesyear and the way they were treated ( not saying that slavery was right, but clearly there were many of slaves that were provided for and even chose to stay with their masters once freed.

This being the case why is it that today's slaves (in a sense in a much worse spot because they are often not provided for and there is more slaves now than there has EVER been number two ( along with the fact that there are more of them which tells me in ad of itself that either people do not care or for slavery to be illegal they are AWFUL are enforcing it ( in terms of the owners) The real kicker though is depending on where you are today's slaves actually have to prove that they are slaves so that THEY will not face legal charges ( that depends on location and the age of the person, but still for people to say that slavery is SO wrong ( not saying it is not but for people to assert that it is so wrong and is illegal they surely have done a VERY poor job of ridding the world of it.

In short why do people have such a problem with the slavery of yesterday and yet there are more slaves now than ever and some of the laws actually STILL favor the owners why does it seem to matter what "kind" of slaves they were sex slaves as opposed to working slaves.

In fact, the human "black market" that is the slave market ( trafficing humans is I believe the largest black market in the world. For people to be so up in arms about the slavery of 100s of years ago it sure seems like the only thing that has really changed is what the slaves are expected to do and if anything they are treated worse now ( on the whole than they were then what gives?

Leftist violence is not symbolic: Today’s America parallels 1930s Germany

Mr. Biden is also an old, weak and doddering man who refuses to control or even denounce the antisemitic liberals in his party for fear of losing the support of leftist organizations such as Black Lives Matter, which is funding antisemitic groups.
History does often repeat itself, unfortunately. The same dynamics which led to the rise of antisemitism in Nazi Germany in the early 1930s are happening again, only in America.
We must ensure that Democrats do not take Trump off of the ballot and that the American people are allowed to vote for the candidate of their choice.

Secular dating easier than Christian dating due to no hang-ups

As unusual as the title may sound, I was doing a Google search on this topic, and had come across message boards of Christian singles suffering the same plight. "I'm Frustrated Trying To Date Christian Women"

The whole "I'm dating Jesus" thing or "I think of you as a brother in Christ" excuses.

It appears when though a guy is looking for a Christian woman to date, there is never really what appears to be honest communication from the Christian, and they hide behind their faith as a reason to side-step their real answers. Where as secular types tend to be more candid if things aren't working out.

There are concerns about even if you did get into a dating relationship with a Christian woman (or man), that everything would have to be so legalistic. This is where people lose sight of dating and the getting to know you process. It's rather unnatural.

An excerpt:

I'll set aside the 'unequally yoked' speech (which I'm sure you'll get from half the comments here) and risk the downvotes by saying that I don't blame you. There's following God and there's religion, and religious people can be the worst. It can be refreshing to just hang with people who don't carry the baggage of years of repression and judgment and insipid rules (like how quick you can kiss or how fast you're going to hell if your divorce wasn't exactly in line with the sometimes vague language in the Bible).

Also:

I think when people note the steep dropoff of younger people who identify as religious/churchgoers, that culture is largely responsible. Millennials and younger generations want realness, and it can be hard to find there.

The link to the post is up top (right), there's a good amount of insight, and it definitely resonates with me.

It's ironic, that even though unequally yoked, that you can connect and be compatible in every other way with a secular person, if you set religion/faith aside. This is how frustrating it can be.

I've been talking to a Christian woman that is this way, and she's told me she's been on very few dates, and the dates she had been on, she did meet in church, but apparently, she didn't think they thirst for Christ as much as she did....like...they weren't at her level....regardless of their faith. And they're all Christian across the board, just didn't share the same "thirst" for it as she did.

If These Were Silent

“As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying, ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!’ And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, ‘Teacher, rebuke your disciples.’ He answered, ‘I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.’
“And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, saying, ‘Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.’
“And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold, saying to them, ‘It is written, “My house shall be a house of prayer,” but you have made it a den of robbers.’
“And he was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people were seeking to destroy him, but they did not find anything they could do, for all the people were hanging on his words.” (Luke 19:37-48 ESV)

I live in the United States of America, a nation which is touted as a “Christian” nation, “one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.” For “Christianity” is the number one religion in the USA, but on a fairly worldly scale overall, based upon what the Scriptures teach. For it appears that the majority of professers of faith in Jesus Christ in America are following more after the teachings of humans than they are following after the teachings of Christ and of his NT apostles, in full context.

The masses appear to have largely accepted an altered and diluted gospel message created in the minds of human beings which does not require death to sin and walks of obedience to the Lord and to his commands. And it promises its adherents that if they just profess faith in Jesus Christ that now all their sins are forgiven (past, present, and future), that heaven is now guaranteed them, that nothing can take it away from them, and that they can sin as much as they want and still go to heaven when they die, basically.

So, many of those followers of Christ who are still holding to the tenets of the faith, as taught by Jesus and by his NT apostles, in full context, who are openly and publicly sharing the truths of the Scriptures, are largely being ignored or rebuked or silenced, and are being called “legalists” and teachers of “works salvation” and “negative,” and thus to be cast out and aside and treated as though we are the enemy. I had one pastor tell me he was warned about people like me, people with “strong convictions.”

But Jesus says, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”

And so Jesus weeps over the USA, too, because so many who profess his name are blinded from seeing the truth and are following after the lies, instead. Those who are still teaching the truth of the gospel don’t normally have large followings, though some do. But those who are teaching what people’s itching ears want to hear have people flocking to them by the hundreds of thousands and perhaps millions, for they are teaching what the people like to hear, not what they need to hear.

And although I do believe that my nation is under the judgment of God, and that one day our physical enemies are going to come against us to destroy us as a nation, right now we are being destroyed from within by the many wolves in sheep’s clothing (charlatans) among us who have deceived the minds and hearts of so many people. And they aren’t all preachers, but many of them are politicians and our government heads, too. They are the enemies within who are killing our nation from within its own borders.

They are the ones who are tearing us down to the ground because they have been able to deceive the masses into following them and believing in their lies. And they are the ones who have obliterated, not only the truth of the gospel, but the character of Almighty God and the true meaning of “church.” For they have turned the gatherings of what are called “churches” into businesses of men, being marketed to the world just like any other businesses. And thus they alter what is of God to make it likeable to man.

But Jesus says, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers” (or into a marketplace).

And “his house”, i.e. the church, is not a building, and it is not a church denomination, and it is not a corporation under the state, and it is not a social club or a civic center, and it is not a house of entertainment, and it is not a business to be marketed to the world, although this is what it has been made into. But “his house” is his body, the body of Christ comprised of all who are of genuine faith in Jesus Christ who are denying self, dying daily to sin, and who are following the Lord Jesus in obedience to his commands.

So, if we are out there teaching the truth that Jesus and his NT apostles taught, in context, and if we are sharing the truth of the gospel, and the truth about who the church really is, and how she is supposed to function biblically, and if we are refuting the lies of the enemy coming against us, then we are going to have people who are out to destroy us and to silence us and who will try to keep others from hearing our messages because they don’t want the people to hear the truth. They want them believing the lies.

Hear my Voice

An Original Work / July 9, 2012
Based off Psalm 27

The Lord is my great salvation.
He’s the stronghold of my life.
When my enemies attack me,
My heart will not fear at all.
Though a war break out against me,
Confident in Christ I’ll be.
Of the Lord, I ask that I may
Live with Him eternally.

Hear my voice, Lord, when I call you.
Merciful to me You’ll be.
Though my relatives forsake me,
My Lord God will receive me.
Teach me Your way, O my Jesus.
Lead me in Your righteousness.
I will sacrifice to my Lord.
I will sing with joyfulness.

I am confident that I will
See the goodness of the Lord.
All the richness of His blessings,
My Lord has for me in store.
He asks me to be of courage;
To be strong and to take heart,
Patiently as I wait for Him,
And from Him to ne’er depart.

Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world. While freedom of religion is guaranteed in the constitution, Muslims generally receive preferential treatment from the government. In order to establish and operate places of worship, permits are officially required; yet, in practise, only non-Muslims must comply. These permits are very difficult for churches to obtain. To be granted an official permit, each congregation must be comprised of a minimum of 90 members and needs authorization from at least 60 non-Christian residents in the area.
Conflicts about worship services dominate many of the reports coming from Indonesia. Because of the restrictive nature of the permit process, churches will frequently gather without a permit, which can bring about conflict with opposing neighbours. Even for small groups of believers gathering in a home – something that is officially permitted by the government – there may be demands placed upon them to obtain a permit.
In an incident that took place this February, a local village official violently demanded that a church service stop, claiming that the congregation did not have a permit. Due to the nature of the attack, the official was charged and convicted for his assault, and the church was issued a temporary permit while working through the arduous process of obtaining permanent governmental approval.
For the Yasmin Church in Bogor, the permit process was a long time coming. Initially approved in 2006, the church encountered numerous delays due to opposition from some of the Muslim residents. Although the permit took more than 15 years to obtain, along with a forced relocation, the church finally opened on Easter Sunday with several politicians in attendance.
Various levels of government have tried to change the image of the country. In 2022, when the country's Muslim president attended a Christmas Day service, he called for peace between religions. Additionally, the mayor of Bogor took part in the inauguration of the Yasmin Church, despite years of opposition from locals officials. While these political leaders' actions can be viewed as examples of religious tolerance, the ongoing opposition of others at the local level continues to impede any progress towards religious freedom. For more details on these reports, and others relating to Indonesia, go to our country report.
Prayerfully remember Indonesian Christians who continue to gather together for worship, despite the opposition they encounter from disagreeing local officials. Pray that these believers will receive the Lord's wisdom, direction and favour as they determine how to best navigate through the confusing and obstructive regulations in order to obtain permanent permits. In the midst of the political challenges, and opposition from community members, may Christians throughout this Southeast Asian country serve as examples of God's love and saving grace to their neighbours, so many more names may be added to the Lamb's "Book of Life."

INDIA

This year started and ended with reports about Christians who were detained in the state of Uttar Pradesh due to its anti-conversion legislation. This is one of the 12 Indian states that has laws regulating religious conversions, with increasing political pressure being placed on the country's government to enact the legislation nationally. While regulations protecting people from religious conversions by force or deception may be beneficial, the regulations are often misused by individuals and officials as a way of stopping any religious activity they personally oppose.
On January 2nd, accusations of coercion led to a violent confrontation at a Catholic church in Chahattisgarh. Significant damage was made to the church building, and several police officers were injured while attempting to intervene. Christians have also been accused when conducting small gatherings in their homes. In early June, a group of militants disrupted a family gathering, resulting in the arrests of five Christians. Thankfully, those who had been arrested were eventually released on bail.
In a positive development, following elections that took place in the state of Karnataka this past May, action has begun to repeal the state's anti-conversion laws. This move has been strongly opposed by the BJP – a political party with strong Hindu-nationalist leanings. Even so, a recently made court ruling in the state of Uttar Pradesh may help to further mitigate the effects of the state's future laws. The judge ruled that "accusations of alluring people to convert" can only be filed by the person being allegedly targeted or by a family member of that person. He also provided some legal guidelines on what constitutes "allurement." For more details about this court ruling, go to this page.
Known as the most populous nation in the world, India is officially a secular country guided by a constitution that guarantees religious freedom. However, the process of ensuring that this freedom is respected has proven to be a difficult task in a country where there is strong pressure to establish India officially as a Hindu nation. For more reports on India, and/or to view podcasts addressing Christian persecution in this country, go to our country report.
Prayerfully uphold the many Christians in India who are facing serious threats to their freedoms, securities and safeties because of their faith in Christ. May believers throughout this nation receive the spiritual strength required to stand firm in the midst of extreme opposition and brightly shine His light in the darkness. Please also remember the ongoing ministry work of those who are boldly reaching out to others with the "Good News" of Jesus. May any further threats from their opponents not stop the proclamation of the Gospel, but rather serve as the catalyst for leading many more to faith in the "Prince of Peace."

Shall Christians beat their swords into plough blades?

Isaiah 2:4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Micah 4:3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Is this a call to Christians today, or is it history that Christians need not practice?

Scary coincodences.

I have had ocd all my life. In many different ways. But recently its gotten REALLY freaky. Super weird coincidences are happening and making me so afraid. For example, ill think "if X is real, make it so (person) reaches out to me in the next 2 days" or whatever. AND THEY DO! These are people who I havent talked to in over a YEAR and here they are crawling out of the wood work. Another example was "if X will happen make it so my hotel room number is 123" (I was soon to go on vacation) sure enough my hotel room ended up being room 123. These are not coincidences. I have seen a lot of coincidences as my ocd makes me notice them but these are too direct. What in the fresh hell are these, i am terrified. I almost wonder if Satan is making these come true cause he knows it would derail me.
