  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm a 35-year-old man from India

Hi, I'm a 35-year-old Indian man who isn't religious. My parents are Christians, and I attended church until I was 13. I stopped because I found church boring, and once I learned about evolution, I lost any faith I may have had before.

I suffer from a lot of mental health problems that prevent me from working. Thankfully, my parents support me. I am looking for community, not faith, and will not try to de-convert you guys. And trying to convert me to Christianity will likely be futile as well.

Be filled with the Spirit

Ephesians 5:

18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
be filled
πληροῦσθε (plērousthe)
Verb - Present Imperative Middle or Passive - 2nd Person Plural
Strong's 4137: From pleres; to make replete, i.e. to cram, level up, or to furnish, satisfy, execute, finish, verify, etc.

The present tense means "Be filled" repeatedly. This is not a one-time event.

The human spirit animates a person. The Holy Spirit empowers a person to act according to the Spirit.

The filling with the Spirit is sometimes associated with prophesying. Acts 2:

4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
How to get filled?

Paul lists some pointers in 1 Thessalonians 5:

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies, 21 but test everything; hold fast what is good. 22Abstain from every form of evil.

Pop star Katy Perry released an edited, pro-gay version on Sunday of Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker's viral commencement address at Benedictine College last month.

"Fixed this for my girls, my graduates, and my gays — you can do anything, congratulations and happy pride," Perry wrote in an Instagram post that cut up Butker's remarks to make him say things such as "Happy Pride Month."

Perry's version of Butker's speech removed the portions of his remarks that emphasized the importance of motherhood and family for many women, which stoked a firestorm of backlash from many who accused him of misogyny for his traditional Catholic worldview.

Praise Be Told

Jesus Christ, God the Son, came to earth, took on human flesh, suffered as we suffer, and was tempted as we are tempted, yet without sin. He was despised, rejected, persecuted, abandoned, denied, betrayed, beaten, mocked, and killed, although he had done no wrong.

God made him who knew no sin to be sin for us so that we might be saved from sin and have eternal life with Him in glory. Jesus was crucified on a cross, and he buried our sin with him, and then he rose from the dead in victory over Satan, death, hell and sin. He did this so that you and I might be free from slavery to sin, spiritually healed, freed to walk in his holiness and righteousness, and freed from eternal punishment in hell.

Yet, we can do nothing to earn or to deserve such a great salvation. It is a free gift to us by God’s grace through our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives (Ephesians 2:8-10). Yet, he did this so that we might die to our sin and live for his righteousness (Romans 6:1-23). For the grace of God teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age (Titus 2:11-14).

So Jesus Christ, by His Spirit within us, will counsel, direct, guide and instruct us in the way of Christ’s righteousness, as well as he will empower and equip us, and he will give us all we need to live upright and godly lives. Also, because he loves us, he regularly disciplines us for our good, to mature us in our walks of faith, to teach us perseverance, and to draw us close to him. Yet he will also heal us. Amen!

Praise Be Told!

An Original Work / December 28, 2013
Based off Various Scriptures

He was pierced for our transgressions.
He was crushed for all our sin.
Our chastisement was upon Him.
By His stripes, we now are healed.

He has witnessed all our trials,
And the sins we choose to wear.
Yet, while we were dead in our sin,
Jesus died, our sins to bear.

He himself bore all of our sins
In His body on a cross,
So that we might die to our sin,
And live for His righteousness.

By faith in the pow’r of Jesus
And His blood shed for our sins,
We can be forgiven our sin,
And have life with God in heav’n.

He will lead us and He’ll guide us
In the way that we should go.
He will comfort and protect us,
Because Jesus, we do know.

Though He disciplines for our good,
He will heal us – Praise be told!
Do not fear, your Lord is with you.
Just have faith in Christ your Lord.

Bureaucrat attacking prolife centers takes hit in court fight

A state bureaucrat orchestrating an attack on pro-life centers has taken a hit on her campaign in court.

Thomas More Society officials say a court has rejected a demand from New York Attorney General Letitia James to move litigation against her into her back yard.

Peter Breen, the head of litigation for the society, explained, "For the past month, Letitia James has tried to illegally frighten and harass New York’s pregnancy help organizations into silence, threatening them with lawsuits if they keep speaking their truthful message about Abortion Pill Reversal. We brought suit in Rochester, near to where most of the organizations are headquartered and work.

"Instead of agreeing to a convenient venue, James then sued these charitable organizations in Manhattan, despite the fact that not a single one of the organizations is located there. We are pleased that the court in Monroe County agreed that the cases should be consolidated together and heard in Rochester, the 'most fair, appropriate and logistically convenient venue,' and not in Manhattan, which has no connection to the case."

Thank you

Thank you for this forum. My name is Christine but I use Rota for personal reasons so either is fine. I am a wife and a mother and I live in the UK. I have joined these forums to connect with other Christians.

I am initially looking for some simple daily prayers for a variety of situations. Hope, thanks etc, a morning prayer/evening prayer.

I say the Lord's Prayer often but it would also be nice to have others so I can maintain that connection with God throughout the day.

By simple I suppose I mean uncomplicated - I am Catholic by upbringing but over the years find myself drawn more and more to a simpler form of worship.

The Anointing That You Received

“I write these things to you about those who are trying to deceive you. But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.
“And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming. If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him.” (1 John 2:26-29 ESV)

“The anointing” is not something talked about much these days, at least not that I am aware of. So I looked the word up in a Greek interlinear, and I learned that the word “anointing” refers “to the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit, guiding the receptive believer into fullness of God’s preferred-will. This anointing functions through faith (pístis), i.e. God inwardly persuading the believer of His preferences.” And what God prefers is all that is holy, righteous, godly, morally pure, honest, faithful, and obedient to him.

For, when we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ to be Lord and Savior of our lives, and we are crucified with Christ in death to sin, and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin, but as slaves to righteousness, the Holy Spirit of God comes to live within us and to guide us into all truth, and to teach, encourage, warn, counsel, empower, and instruct us in the ways of righteousness and in holy living. Now God, in the person of the Holy Spirit, dwells within those of us of true faith in Christ.

[Mk 13:11; Lu 2:26; Lu 4:18-19; Lu 10:21; Lu 12:11-12; Jn 14:26; Jn 15:26; Jn 16:13; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:17-18; Acts 11:12; Acts 13:2; Acts 20:23; Rom 8:9,14; 1 Co 2:14-16; 1 Co 6:19-20; 1 Co 12:1-31; Rom 12:1-8; Eph 4:1-16, etc.]

Yet, when this says that, since the anointing that we received from him abides in us, that we have no need that anyone should teach us, this is not doing away with the spiritual gift of teaching or the need for us, as the body of Christ, to instruct and to teach one another. Otherwise we would not be given those gifts of the Spirit, and we would not be instructed in the Scriptures that we are to instruct and encourage and exhort one another, and that we are to speak the truth in love, one to the other, too.

[Romans 12:1-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; Galatians 6:1; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:1-16; Ephesians 5:15-21; Philippians 2:1-8; Colossians 3:16; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:13; Hebrews 10:23-25; James 5:19-20]

What I believe this is teaching us is that we now have the Holy Spirit living within us teaching us, if we are willing to be taught by him, and if we will listen to him and obey him. For we now have the Word dwelling within us. But we must still test whatever we hear against the Scriptures, in their full context, to make certain that “the spirit” that we are listening to is the Holy Spirit and not another spirit which may be trying to influence us in any particular direction. But it is the Holy Spirit who enlightens us to all truth.

And in order that we not be deceived by other human beings who are trying to teach us the Word of God, we must be listening to the Holy Spirit, and we must test all that we hear or read against the teachings of the Scriptures in their full context. For many false teachers are among us who take Scriptures out of context, and who twist them to make them say what they do not say if taught in their appropriate context. And this is trickery that is widely being used today in order to deceive those who are lacking in biblical knowledge.

And now, we who believe in Jesus Christ with God-persuaded faith in him must abide in him. And to abide in Christ is to live in him, and him in us, and it is to continue in him, and to keep on walking in obedience to his commands, and to keep on in holy living, and in denying self and dying daily to sin. And it is for us to surrender our lives and our wills to the will of God for our lives, and to submit to God’s will and purpose for our lives in walks of obedience to his commands in holy living, by the grace of God.

For the grace of God, which is bringing us salvation, is training us to renounce (say “No!” to) ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives while we await our Lord’s return. For Jesus Christ gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works, the good works which God prepared in advance that we should walk in them as his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works (Titus 2:11-14; Ephesians 2:8-10).

So, faith in Jesus Christ, that is genuine God-persuaded faith, denies self, dies daily to sin, and follows Jesus Christ in obedience to his commands in practice, though not necessarily in absolute perfection. For if we hold on to our old lives of living in sin and for self, we will lose them for eternity. But if for Jesus’ sake we deny self, die daily to sin, and follow him in obedience, then we have the hope of salvation from sin and of eternal life with God. For if sin is what we practice, we will die in our sins (Luke 9:23-26).

[Matt 7:21-23; Lu 9:23-26; John 1:12-13; John 6:44; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14; Rom 12:1-2; 1 Co 6:9-10,19-20; 1 Co 10:1-22; 2 Co 5:10,15,21; Gal 5:16-24; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 2:8-10; Eph 4:17-32; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:1-17; Titus 2:11-14; 1 Jn 1:5-10; 1 Jn 2:3-6,24-25; 1 Jn 3:4-10; 1 Peter 1:15; 1 Pet 2:24; Heb 3:1-19; Heb 4:1-13; Heb 10:23-31; Hebrews 12:1-2; Rev 21:8,27; Rev 22:14-15]

Only in Him

An Original Work / February 19, 2014
Based off Isaiah 30

Woe to those who look to man’s help;
Who turn away from Jesus Christ;
Forming an alliance not in step with God;
Making their own plans, and praying not.

Willing not to listen to truth,
They close their ears to what is right.
Pleasing words are all that they’ll hear;
Feel good messages that bring cheer.

Trust in your Lord; turn from your sin.
Put your faith now ONLY IN HIM.
Do not turn to idols. They’ll not satisfy.
Jesus will save you. That’s why He died.

Your Lord will be gracious to you.
He cares all about you, ‘tis true.
He forgives you all of your sin
When you give your life up to Him.

Oh, how truly gracious He’ll be
When you bow to Him on your knees;
Turning now from your sin; walking in his ways.
He’ll lead and guide you all of your days.

Now you will sing praises to Him.
He delivered you from your sin.
You’ll tell others now of His grace,
So they may see Christ face-to-face.

Can Christians Still Support Trump after the Guilty Verdict?

How can you follow Jesus and Donald Trump?” Many are not following a man, they are shaping a movement. A better, biblical question to be asking is, What direction is the country heading?

The short answer to the question is absolutely, especially after a sham trial that resembles Venezuela more than America.

Confrontation Over Character
If a leader lacks Christian character but is pointing the nation back to God, is that a bad thing? If they are being a terror to terrorists and making America secure, is that a bad thing?

If they are honoring hard work and minimizing free handouts, is that a bad thing? If they are fighting the global agenda to enslave America, is that a bad thing?

God doesn’t judge a nation based on the character of one man; He judges it based on the spiritual health of her people—from corrupt Ballam to ungodly kings in the Old Testament—if they direct the people back to God it can be a good thing.

A Reality Check
Not voting for Trump is a vote against what needs to happen in this nation. We can’t allow “personal” pain or “flawed” character to have national consequences.

We’re not playing games anymore—serious things are on the line that have massive consequences. We need to wake up. There is no Plan B. I don’t believe that any other candidate could carry his momentum.

Eating Sacrifices Made Unto Idols

Revelation 2:20 But I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel,
who calls herself a prophetess, and by her teaching deceives my servants
to commit sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols.

What deception is involved with eating food sacrificed to idols?
Is it saying “take and eat, enjoy this kosher meat”, and then afterwards
saying “haha” you just ate meat sacrificed to idols, you are in big trouble now!
Or is this deception: to convince some that they should eat something because
it was sacrificed to an idol-god, and that by eating there is a benefit?

Paul is making this very clear :
1 Corinthians 8:7
Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge:
for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing

offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.

If you eat with a conscience toward an idol, you are anticipating some advantage
beyond the simple benefit of having something to eat, and being thankful.
This deception is played out today and has been throughout my life, some new
super food that is going to change my life, if I can afford it.
If something is hyped beyond its true benefit, that is lying.
If the cost is exorbitant based on that exaggeration, that is stealing.

Paul goes into more detail in chapter 10.

1 Corinthians 10:

19 What am I saying then? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything?
20 Rather, the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God,
and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.
21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s
table and of the table of demons.
22 Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?

So we can clearly see, food advertised as having been sacrificed
to idols as if an idol is anything, or that the meat is anything.
No, this is deception, and all deception is demonic.
To eat meat with anticipation of a benefit resulting
from it being a sacrifice is demonic.
You cannot seriously expect to eat with thanksgiving to the Lord,
and expect a bonus from a god that is no god!
Continuing,

25 Eat whatever is sold in the meat market,
asking no questions for conscience’ sake;
26 for “the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.”
27 If any of those who do not believe invites you to dinner,
and you desire to go, eat whatever is set before you,
asking no question for conscience’ sake.
28 But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,”
do not eat it for the sake of the one who told you,
and for conscience’ sake; for “the earth is the Lord’s,
and all its fullness.
29 Conscience,” I say, not your own, but that of the other.
For why is my liberty judged by another man’s conscience?
30 But if I partake with thanks, why am I evil spoken of for

the food over which I give thanks?

So, the right comprehension is that meat is meat,
eat with thanksgiving unto God and your conscience will be clear.
If someone is advertising that you should eat something

and for example, sexual performance will improve,
decline as a testimony against their deception.

CNN: Biden pulls from Trump’s immigration playbook in election-year twist

President Joe Biden is pulling from former President Donald Trump’s immigration playbook as he tries to stop a flow of asylum-seekers from around the world who are crossing into the US at the border with Mexico.

Unveiled at the White House on Tuesday, Biden’s new plan to all but shut down the US border to asylum-seekers who cross the border illegally uses executive authority Trump once used to bar people from mostly-Muslim countries from entering the US in 2017 and also to bar most asylum-seekers in 2018 – days after Republicans suffered huge setbacks in midterm elections that year.

It’s an odd, election-year twist, since Biden actually ran his 2020 campaign in part on a promise to revoke those actions, which he did in the months after taking office. Trump’s asylum policy was also blocked by federal courts before Biden revoked it.

In addition to slowing the flow of asylum-seekers, Biden’s action could have the political effect of chipping away at Trump’s lead on the immigration issue and triangulating some middle-ground support, even if it leaves progressives angry.

It would seem as if this could put some staunch Biden supporters in a bit of an "explain yourself" type of pickle with regards to this topic.

While the narrative has often been "Republicans just want to block these types of border measures because they know that if Biden gets tougher on the border, it'll pull the rug out from under the GOP on this issue"...that very sentiment is basically an admission that the GOP's stance on it maybe had a little more popularity than they'd originally thought.

The "Trump is just telling GOP puppets to block Biden's border measures because if he can't campaign on that issue anymore, he may lose" is an acknowledgement of the disconnect between where a portion of the independents and moderates are vs. where the the DNC "conventional wisdom" was on this issue.

Or, to put it more succinctly...if you have to "get tougher on the border" in order to pull the rug out from underneath your opponent because that could be a winning issue for them...perhaps that's a bit telling.

I want to date and marry, but I'm an "effeminate" Christian man. What do I do?

I'm an egalitarian Christian. Non-denominational, although I may join Grace Communion International. And as the title of the post implies, I'm the kind of Christian man that complementarian pastors on Twitter (I refuse to call that site X) complain about--unmasculine. No, I don't have long hair, but I don't play sports, I can be risk-averse, I'm physically weak, and I lack drive to be a leader or to compete. I'm not a masculine man. And honestly? This even extends to my dating preferences.

For the most part, masculine traits in women are more attractive than femininity to me. Being a tomboy in general, but also physical strength, courage, bravery, risk-taking, rationale, heroism (being willing to risk her life and limb for others),willingness to hunt or fight, even leadership. I even kind of appreciate boyishly short hair, especially when combined with an athletic body and a small/flat chest (I realized this when reading the manwha "The Knight and Her Emperor"). A woman who could be pass for a knight or a modern-day Jeanne D'Arc makes my heart sing.

Dating-wise, I absolutely NEED masculine energy to feel attraction. I NEED male energy. Which kind of sucks when femininity is so common in my sisters in Christ. I'm not starved for a feminine wife and mother at all; I'm starved for one who's "one of the guys". Is this a problem? Are my desires sinful? What advice do you have for me, as a brother or sister in Christ?

Catholic Priests Are the Sleeper Cells in Rome’s Homosexual Revolution

New book concludes that protagonists of the gay revolution in the Church of Rome are almost exclusively Catholic priests.

The protagonists of the homosexual revolution in the Church of Rome are almost exclusively Catholic priests. This is the alarming conclusion drawn in the book The Breached Dam: The Fiducia Supplicans Surrender to the Homosexual Movement released last Monday in Rome by the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property, a traditionalist Catholic society.

José Antonio Ureta and Julio Loredo, the authors of the 132-page book, identify what they call the “fifth column” that is “led chiefly by priests and nuns to promote the homosexual cause within the Church under the pretext of pastoral care for same-sex pairs.”

LGBT-affirming church vandalized with Leviticus 18:22

Police in Mitchell, South Dakota, are investigating after Congregational United Church of Christ, an LGBT-affirming congregation planning to host a gay pride event this month, was vandalized with Scripture on Thursday night.

The church's vandalism was first noticed around 8 a.m. last Friday morning by individuals from law offices across the street from the church, according to Dakota News Now. The vandals spray painted Leviticus 18:22 on the walls and sidewalk of the church in red multiple times. They also urged the congregants to “repent” in their message.

Leviticus 18:22, which condemns same-sex relationships, states: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

Wisconsin AG charges three Trump allies charged with forgery in fake elector scheme

The Wisconsin attorney general on Tuesday filed charges against three allies of Donald Trump accused of taking part in the effort to put forth a slate of fake electors and usurp the 2020 presidential election, according to online court records.

The men – Kenneth Chesebro, a right-wing attorney who helped devise the fake elector plot; Jim Troupis, a former Trump lawyer; and Michael Roman, a former Trump campaign official – are each facing a single forgery charge.

CNN previously reported that Chesebro was helping investigators in at least four states, including Wisconsin, who were looking into the fake electors scheme. Chesebro’s lawyers had believed that his cooperation would be enough for him to stave off charges.

Last year, the 10 fake electors from Wisconsin disavowed their attempt to overturn Trump’s defeat in 2020, recognized the legitimacy of President Joe Biden’s victory, and pledged not to serve as real electors in 2024 or any election when Trump is on the ballot – or to act as sham electors in any future election, as part of a civil lawsuit settlement.

Troupis was involved in slipping the fakes to Senator Ron Johnson (to slip to Pence).

Roman and Chesebro are also indicted in Georgia.

Refuse to Certify

Arizona election officials who refused to certify 2022 results charged with conspiracy

There's also a Rolling Stone story about an election official who's suing for the ability to NOT certify results.

Why is it that whenever there is talk about people's votes NOT being properly counted, it's almost always Republicans? Folks claim it's hyperbole that Republicans are trying to end democracy....and yet there are all these very real examples of HUGE swaths of voters ACTUALLY not having their vote counted.

Not play make believe versions of this like those associated with last election. ACTUAL events that occurred.

Scripture Suggestions for a problem

Praise be to God for his goodness and love.

I have harbored in my mind for many decades and fed this lie that God, while he is a maker of great and wonderful promises, is not a God who delivers. He delivers for everyone else but for myself.

It is my desire to surrender so that Jesus, through his spirit may break this Gate of Bronze in my mind so that I may be a sheep who hears his voice and follows him through the gate to be led to still waters and layed down in green pastures.

Can some of you, my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ offer scripture that I can use to counter this lie of God's character, and that he IS a rewarder of those that seek him in truth.

Thank you.

Science and the Bible

I constantly get asked about this. The general opinion is that science does not need the Bible and the Bible does not need science. That is not true. Science and the Bible are like our left and are right hand and they should fit together like a glove fits our hand. Science needs the Bible the most. Because everything is in the Bible, so we can verify the truth of what we believe with the Bible.

So the real question is: Does the Bible need science. Paul tells us that God has revealed Himself in HIs Creation. Science is the study of God's creation. God gives us lots of artifacts and lots of natural evidence like fossils. Through Science and the Study of God's creation, we come to know our Creator. God wants us to know what He is doing so that is why there is so much for us to study in Creation using Science and the evidence Science has gathered for us.

We need to do a study on what wisdom, knowledge and understanding is. Proverbs is loaded with teaching on this. For example Proverbs 1:7 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction."

A better and updated SCOTUS

Each year, SCOTUS receives about 7,000 to 8,000 petitions for writs of certiorari. The Court usually accepts about 80 for hearings. There have to be cases where a SCOTUS opinion would be important and set nationwide precedents. But here we are in the 21st century, while the highest court in the land only has 9 Justices--a number that hasn't changed since 1869. Here's a suggestion to modernize the Court, so more cases can be heard:

1) Add 5 more Justices, to make a total of 14. Then divide the Court into 2 panels of 7 Justices each. Panel A would be presided over by the Chief Justice. Panel B would be headed by the most senior associate Justice. This will immediately double the number of cases that can be heard.

2) Both panels will jointly review writs. This way, cases with similar issues won't be adjudicated by both panels. And if 3 Justices from a panel agree the case has merit, then the writ will be accepted.

3) Each panel will hear its chosen cases by digital communication. SCOTUS only deal with laws. It decides if a law was properly followed, or if a law is unconstitutional. Arguments are made by attorneys, there are no witnesses, and no physical evidence is introduced. Each panel will hear arguments electronically. There will be no need to travel to Washington, DC. This will greatly improve efficiency and reduce costs.

4) Each panel will deliberate after the case is heard. Just like the Court does now. 4 votes, either for or against, will be decisive.

This won't require a Constitutional amendment. It only needs majorities in both the House and Senate, and the President's signature. The President will still appoint Justices when there's a vacancy. And the Congress will still need a simple majority to ratify the appointment. And as I posted in a different thread, each Justice will serve until s(he) decides to retire, or until the Justice reaches the age of 80. This will also require an act of Congress.
