So I'm 49 years old. And let's just say I have a lot of mental health issues. I have hard time controlling my emotions. I feel constant stress and anxiety and fear and lonelyness, constant state of doom, depression, sadness. A sense of wanting to die....in short I'm a mess.

My position on Jesus started to soften after watching Choosen but even then I still wasn't ready. Then recently I hit rock bottom.

A women who was married that I've had a relationship with for 10 years or so ( yes I know it's wrong and I'm far from proud of it.). Well she and I got in to a fight and we haven't talked sense.

After our fight I feel in to a state of depression that lasted for 4 days. I couldn't get out bed. It aggravated and made thing worse for me. I just hit Rock bottom. I turned to God. Asked for forgiveness.

My intent was to get therapy and medicine to help me control my emotions better and get God to help fix me spiritual. But I found out I can't afford the therapy and psychiatrist. So now God is my only hope and find some measure of peace.

I won't lie I'm struggling. Some of you may understand how mental health issues is not so easy to over come and it does not help with hibitual sin. I feel like I'm fighting a battle for my soul. There times when my mental health just hits me and I fall apart and just cry because I want all the crap in my head to be silent.

Imagine feeling alone all the time. Imagine you feel like your life is about to fall apart a sense of dread and doom. Some times is loud and clear other times it's a buzz but it's always their. Imagine being constantly afraid of various things. Or have constant self doubt. Imagine feeling anxiety and stress. Imagine that constantly some times it's loud and clear and other times it's a dull buzz but it's there. Imagine you have no control over it. If you can even remotely imagine how that would feel and how that would impact your life and your ability to exist in this world and have friends and relationships then you can kind of understand me.

I have come to learn that God loves me. That I need to develope a relationship with him. And instead of relying on myself to rely on him. To learn to let him dictate my actions and not my emotions. That is not easy when your like me.

For me this is a war for my soul and all I can do is fight as hard as I can and not give up even if I stumble and fall. But I'm not alone on this.

Right now I'm so utterly alone in this world but I think this is were God wants me. He wants me alone so he can rebuild me. To learn how to follow Jesus and put my faith on him. While I say I'm alone I know I'm not cause he with me. I am nothing with out him.

I just want to make him proud of me. I don't want him to make me rich or solve my human problems. I want a relationship with him. I want him to show me how to follow Jesus. One thing I've recently come to understand is some people treat God like he some sort of Genie. He not; he our father. Like any parent we should not seek a relationship with him so he can do things for us but because we actually want one. Part of having that relationship is following his rules and obey him.

I wish I could say that Jesus appeared to me and I had some instinstant conversion but I didn't. Maybe he will appear to me but it will he by his choice not by mine. For me this is gone he a fight a war a struggle. I'm gone fail again and again but I'm gone keep trying till I get right finally or I die.

Remember guys, Jesus did not eat with sinners and tax collectors because He wanted to appear tolerant of sins...He ate with them to call them all to repentance. Now, if someone wants to be a gay atheist, go right ahead (as long as that person does not force his/her private life onto society). Lately when I try to fall asleep, sometimes I feel the sensation of someone touching my forehead. There's nothing there when I open my eyes, and of course if I rub my forehead the sensation disappears. But also.. if I turn over to my other side, the sensation disappears but might start again shortly after, and oddly enough I experimented last night, I waved my hand in front of my forehead like 6 inches in front of my head and that also "interrupted" the sensation of being touched, like I swatted away an invisible thing that was touching my head, and it didn't come back for minutes, so it's not like an air current or anything like that. Simply waking up but remaining still I still feel the sensation, of something pressing so it's not like a hypnogogic dream where when you wake up all the dream sensations cease.

It's the weirdest thing and I have no explanation, and I don't know if it's connected but I've been having a lot of nightmares recently as well, and just trouble sleeping in general.

I can't tell if it's related to MS and just nerve damage (but why does waving my hand inches in front of my face 'interrupt" it? why does turning over "interrupt" it? I do have odd sensations of being touched on my back but changing position or moving my hand in the air around my back doesn't stop it not even touching the area on my back stops it, that one is for sure just.. part of the nerve damage from MS), spiritual attack or just.. all in my head.

God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Donald Trump’s evangelical base does not appear to know this.

How much easier can it get when people are coming here to escape oppression. Yes, better monitoring is needed at our borders, because we must protect our land. But if we’re not going to them, God is bringing them to us because we know about Him, and they need to know about His son, Jesus, and the importance of what he did on the cross to bring us into the body of Christ.

Yes, we live in our beautiful communities and enjoy the blessings of prosperity, but what do you think is more important to God? Our isolation from those we perceive as less than us, or the work He has commissioned us to do?

My ex and I were together for a year until we broke up recently. He broke up with me due to moving back home for a few months and the fact that he was in the media for a while and going from having a lot of attention on him to just having the attention of family and friends was a lot on his mind. During our year together we had many conversations with eachother, friends, family, and God about our love for one another and the fact that we wanted to have a long future ahead of us. We talked about marriage, kids, values, religion, etc. We shared our conversations with our family and friends to make it known the intentions we have for eachother. Just days before we broke up he told me we was so excited to buy my engagement ring someday and that the day he does will be the happiest day of his life. I love and miss him so much. He was the first person I’ve met that opened my eyes to the power of love, and that love is enough, that love can overcome anything. I feel in my gut that our relationship isn’t over and that we are meant to be together. Please pray that during this time my ex is able to see past the infatuation of attention from others. Please pray for my ex to be led back to me. In Jesus’s name please pray for the reconciliation of our relationship. In Jesus’s name please pray for God to reach him and guide him. With him in my life I don’t feel the desire to need superficial or material things, his love is one of the greatest things I’ve come by. I truly feel in my heart and soul that we are meant for one another and that God put this love and desire in my heart for a reason. Please pray for us.

I apologize if a topic already exists on this subject somewhere I did a search for the subject and couldn't find a topic with the title that was recently created. My question is simple. According to Jewish history Adam and Eve and thus the universe were created 5,784 years ago. Modern Creation science dates the Earth somewhere between 6,000 and 10,000 years old, just how close is the Jewish Calandar to actual biblical truth?

In the hierarchy of this established universe, there are 5 levels of participation.

#1-Father
#2-Son
#3-Servant
#4-Slave
#5-Prop

Since, the Father is always on the throne, and the throne is reserved for him; all other participants in this universe can only be 2, 3, 4 or 5.
However, since the Son has already been declared, his seat is also reserved; therefore all other participants in this universe can only be 3, 4, or 5.

Now what is the difference between 3, & 4, (Servant and Slave)? The main difference between Servant and Slave, is diet.
Adam and Eve were created to be servants. As they were given commands. One of the few commands were of what to eat, Note the word shall! This is not voluntary to servants.

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed,
which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree,
in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Genesis 1:29

After the flood, God gave forewarning and told Noah if he eats any meat with lifeblood in it, he will die; Note the word shall again..
But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

Noah passed with time, and so did all those in the Bible except for three men. Enoch, Elijah and Yeshua.
These 3 men escaped death and were taken up. John 18:36

Out of these 3 men were 2 servants (Elijah, Enoch) and a Son (Yeshua). Everyone else is/was a slave and prop.

That is the key difference.

Now, since all true servants know this hierarchy, they can teach slaves who want to be servants, how it works.
It is very simple, as it is wired into us by our creator/master.

Deny the Father, and one will deny the Son,
Deny the Son, and one will deny the servant.
Deny the Servant, and one will become a slave.
Deny being a slave, and one will become a prop.



Therefore, when we accept Jesus Christ as the Son, and Alpha and Omega as the Father, we can position ourselves accordingly. However this positioning does not come with free choice into what we can consume. We are still servants and are still held accountable to God's commandments, not Noahs, or Moses. The Sons two Commandments were Love thy neighbour and love thy God. In order to love God, we must love him like before the fall, not after. This requires us to follow before fall commandments. Which there are also 2.

Hence, true servants remember the Father, the Son, and the Holy spirit, which is the servant and inside of all God's chosen.

I started this thread maybe last cycle or cycle before ( been here a LONG time) Anyway many feel we should drop the EC in favor of a popular vote. What if instead we kept the EC, but every state work it like ME and NE. This way everyone could still have a vote while still allowing smaller areas to not be ruled by the larger areas. This may serve to get more people out to vote and would be fairer than the current winner take all system while still allowig people in rural areas to have more of a vioce than a regular popular vote would.

Matthew 24 shows us that our Lord Jesus Christ expects us to be keeping the Sabbath up to His second coming. So why are you not keeping it?

There are three questions asked by the Apostles in verse 3. First is when shall the Temple be destroyed. The second is when shall be the sign of Jesus' coming. And the third is when shall be the end of the world.

Matt 24:2,3

All three questions are answered as one. Everything Jesus says is connected to what is previously stated by the use of particles, conjunctive particles and adverbs. These conjunctive particles are "and" which is copulative and sometimes cumulative in nature. "For", which assigns a reason to what was previously stated. "But" which is adversative or continuative in nature.

Verse 9 starts with the adverb then. Everything previously stated leads up to this point by the use of the particles, for in verse 5 and in verse 6, and for in verse 7. And all this is said in direct context to verse 6 in respect to the end being not yet.


Matt 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
Matt 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Matt 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Matt 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Matt 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Matt 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

But that is not the end of it. Jesus continues in verses 10-14 with the conjunctive particle and, and, and, but respectively. Which means he is continuing, adding on to what He had already said. It is all the same context tied together through the syntax.

In this respect he continues to tie everything he is about to say to what was previously stated in verse 6, that the end not yet. There is not a break. It is the same context. And that context is in respect the end not yet being.


Matt 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
Matt 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Matt 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Matt 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Matt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Verses 15-20 are a little different in the words being used. Verse 15 starts off with two conjunctive particles. These words as you can see are when and therefore. THESE words are continuative in nature.
And the word "see" in verse 15 is being said in the second person. So we get, "when you therefore see". The words "when ye therefore" tie into what Jesus already said, to what he is about to say. Because the word therefore assigns a reason or consequence to what was previously stated. So the proceeding text adds to what was said in respect to what will occur before the end that is not yet. And it says when you shall see the abomination of desolations spoken by Daniel standing in the Holy Place.

The abomination of desolation mentioned is the culmination of the signs in which we will see in relation to the question as to when the end is in verse 3. Verses 6,13 and 14 solidify this context in that they mention the end. When we see the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place we are instructed, if in Judea to flee into the Mountains quickly. And to pray that our flight not be in the winter nor on the Sabbath Day. Since we see that this prophecy is about when the end is, we see that this is speaking of the time right before Jesus, coming and the end of this world. As was said, verses 6 and 13 have set the context to which Jesus is speaking. And the context is the answer as to when the end would be. Keep in mind Jesus is talking to His Apostles, the first Christians. Therefore He is speaking to us through them.

Matt 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand
Matt 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Matt 24:17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Matt 24:18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
Matt 24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
Matt 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

As you can see in respect to when the end shall be, our Lord and Savior councils us in verse 20 to flee when we see the abomination of desolation standing in the Holy Place, and to pray that our flight not be in the winter nor on the Sabbath Day. Which means prior to the end Jesus expected His followers, us to be resting on the Sabbath and keeping the day Holy. The fact that Judea is mentioned means that the abomination of desolation standing in the Holy Place is tied to that region. Whether it is being said in respect to the destruction of the Temple or something else is subject to debate. Most believe it is. We would teach the abomination of desolation would be the building of it in the name of our God and Father rather than the destruction if anything. Even the very site in which it was is nothing since we are now the Temple and God's Spirit dwells in us through Christ. A building of a third Temple would be a direct affront unto our God and all He did for us in Christ.

As He continues, He tells us why we should flee by using the word "for" in verse 21. He says, for then, during the abomination of desolation. There shall be a great tribulation, as never was.

And as He proceeds He uses the word "and" connecting what is about to be said to what was previously stated in relation to when the end would be because He is continuing in the same context. The use of the word "and" proves this. He says unless this tribulation be shorten there would be none of us left. And at this time when He explains the tribulation is shortened, He uses the word then. Which connects what is about to be said to what was already stated as to when shall the end be. He says in relation to the end of this tribulation, then at this moment, many false Christs shall arrive showing great signs and wonders. And if it were possible they would deceive the very elect, us. He says Believe it not. For behold as I have told you before. As lighten cometh out of the east and shineth even unto the west so also shall be the coming of the Son of man be.

Matt 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Matt 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Matt 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
Matt 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Matt 24:25 Behold, I have told you before.
Matt 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
Matt 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

So with that, what we see so far is the signs as to when the end will be close. And as we see these signs we are called to flee and hope that are flight not be in the winter neither on the Sabbath day. In the mention of the Sabbath we see that Jesus expects His follows to still be resting on the Sabbath Day and keeping it Holy. So with that stated they, we will be caught off guard and consequently it will be harder on us.

And at this moment that we are fleeing there shall be tribulation as there has never been before. And after this tribulation is shortened for our sake we shall also start seeing incredible, miraculous signs and wonders being done by those whom profess to be Christ. Saying He is here and there. Believe it not Jesus says, For as lightening cometh from the east and shineth even unto the west even so shall the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcass is due to the tribulation that is shortened, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Then immediately after these days of tribulation that are shortened, the sun shall be darkened, the moon shall not give her light, the stars shall fall from heaven and the very powers of heaven shall be shaken. All this is closely connected in time according the context. We know this because He uses the word "then" He says, then shall appear the Son of man in Heaven after the signs in heaven just mentioned. Which are Immediately after the tribulation that is after the abomination of desolation. Everything is closely connected. And as you can see during the time that Jesus returns because it is closely connect to the abomination of desolation Jesus expected His followers to be keeping the Sabbath. Because He said to His Apostles, who where the leaders in the church and would not be around but would teach Jesus' prophecy here to pray that our flight not be in the winter nor on the Sabbath Day.

As Jesus continues He says, And all the tribes of the earth shall mourn as they see the Son of man coming in the clouds of Heaven with power and great Glory. And at this time He says He shall send His Angels with the sound of a great Trumpet. And they shall gather together the elect who were not deceived. From one end of heaven unto another.


This is speaking of the final judgment. ALL the tribes on earth have not mourned because of seeing the Son of Man coming in the clouds. And the Trumpet has not sounded, and Angels have not been sent to gather the elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. This without a doubt is speaking of the End of our time, generation in general and the final judgment.

Matt 24:28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
Matt 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Matt 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Matt 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.



The clause in verse 33, "All these things" includes everything mentioned from verses 5-31. Due to the fact that they connect in context by the grammar and syntax as shown above.

Matt 24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
Matt 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

To even further the general context is speaking of His 2nd coming and judgment. He begins to compare His coming in the clouds with the angel to gather the elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven unto the other to Noah and the flood.

Matt 24:36-42

Then He compares being ready for His coming in the clouds with the angel to gather the elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven unto the other to someone having their house broken into. And if they would have been paying attention to the signs they would have been ready and would not have suffered their house to be broken into. Being caught unaware when He comes in the clouds with His Angels to gather the elect



Matt 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
Matt 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Then He speaks of rewards to the faithful and wise servant whom is ready when He comes. But the evil servant whom is not ready but says our Lord delays He shall cut asunder and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matt 24:45-51

And that is not it. Still in the same context He continues but adds something to His coming in the clouds to gather the elect. He calls us who are waiting the Kingdom of Heaven. And in this compares us to virgins who are awaiting the bride-groom and need to be wise and make sure we our Lamps are trimmed and full so that we are able to see our Lord when He comes to take us to be His wife. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh to gather His Bride, the elect.

Matt 25:1-13

And if that were not enough, He continues with the same premise of His coming in the clouds with His angels to gather the elect and the passing of Judgement. And as He continues he goes on to call us His servants the Kingdom of Heaven and say we His servant have received talents, goods and that when He comes back he expects to see that there has been an increase to what He has given us. And if there is no increase we will be cast out unto utter darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matt 25:14-30

Then Jesus speaks more bluntly. He says directly that when He comes in his glory with the Angels He shall sit in the throne of judgement and gather ALL nations before Him. And He shall divide the sheep from the goats. The sheep to the right, the goats unto the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. But unto the left, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Matt 25:31-46

So, in closing all this has not been fulfilled because Jesus has not come in the clouds to gather the elect for the final judgment. And as was shown above all this is connected closely in time. SO the abomination of desolation and great tribulation has not happened yet. Nor has the Sun been darkened in respect to this prophecy as well as the stars falling and the moon not giving her light anymore. All these things are closely connected in time. And when it starts we shal know His second coming and judgment is close. And the end of this age is near.

So pray as our Lord Jesus Christ instructed that when the great tribulation starts right after the abomination of desolation, that our flight from it not be in the winter nor the Sabbath Day. The winter because it will make our journey even more difficult. And the Sabbath because on the Seventh Day we will be resting from our secular labors and in keeping the Day Holy we will be caught up in worship and what not and will be caught off guard.

We, as followers of Christ, should make all our plans lightly. Well, first of all we should pray and make certain that what we plan to do is not contrary to the will of God for our lives, and that it aligns with the teachings of the Scriptures, and/or that it is God’s specific will for us at that moment in time. But whatever we plan to do, which we believe aligns with the will of God, according to the Scriptures, we should always leave room for the Lord to make changes to our plans at any moment that he deems necessary.

Now, this obviously does not include us planning to obey the Lord in a specific area and then us retreating from obedience and then blaming it on God as though it was somehow not his will that we obey him. And I have to say stuff like this, because so many people today are twisting the truths of the Scriptures so many different directions in order to justify doing what they know is wrong and that is evil in the eyes of the Lord. And some of them will blame God if they are not resisting Satan and fleeing temptation.

Anyway, our plans need to align with God’s plans for our lives and they should not be outside the will of God in any respect. But all plans are still subject to the will of God for our lives at any moment in time, and so he has the full authority to interrupt any of our plans if it suits his purposes and if it accomplishes his will in a different direction. For we can be doing good in the eyes of the Lord, and not evil, but he may send us a different direction than what we had in mind, because his plans are greater than our plans.

Let me give a personal example of this. Back in 2004 my husband and I were “church planters.” He was going for his ordination and I was going for my consecration, and we were both headed in the direction of moving our ministry to college age adults into a “church plant” under a specific church denomination. We both had planned to attend our denomination’s district prayer conference for all official workers within our specific area, but my husband injured his back, so I went alone to represent our ministry.

From the moment I arrived at the conference the Lord Jesus began speaking to me through the messages that were being presented there. The primary messages which were jumping out at me were:


By the end of the conference it became abundantly clear to me that the direction I was headed was not the direction that the Lord had planned for my life, but truly he had other plans for me which he then began to unfold before my eyes through the Scriptures, and partially from my grandmother’s journals, which then culminated in the Lord calling me to this ministry of writing down what he teaches me from his word each day and to place these writings on the internet so that a herald (the internet) could “Run With It.”

So, don’t get set on what you think is the direction for your life. Definitely do not head in the direction that is contrary to God’s expressed will for all of our lives. But always leave the door open to hear from the Lord if he decides it is time to send you a different direction, none of which will ever be contrary to what the Scriptures teach are God’s will and purpose for our lives. And realize that even what we might consider a bad thing, when plans get cancelled, might be an open door for the Lord to use you in a different way.

We, as Christians, are not to fight and quarrel with each other in heated arguments and debates. We especially are not to contend with one another over matters of differences of opinion and that which is not critical to us understanding and receiving the truth of the gospel message. We may challenge a fellow Christian over doctrine if we believe that Christian is going the wrong direction, but we should be decent with one another and not nasty, and not hateful, but with a heart of love and concern for each other.

For, as fellow believers in Christ, we are to be those who are speaking the truth to one another, in love, and who are exhorting and encouraging and urging one another in walks of holiness and in righteousness. This is so that we are not led astray by the deceit of liars in their cunning and craftiness who are leading many to follow after false gospels of men, and so that we aren’t led astray by the deceitfulness of sin, but so that we deny self, die daily to sin, and now walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands.

But we are not to be selfish greedy people who just want their own way despite who it hurts in the process. And so they fight and they quarrel over what is meaningless and that which produces only evil, and not good. And it appears that some of them took it so far as to murder one another in order to get what they wanted. Wow! And murder, hate, and selfishness all come from what is stored up in the human heart. But we are to be seekers of truth and righteousness whose desire is to serve and to obey our Lord.

If a man or a woman cheats on their respective spouses via any type of sexual immoral behavior, or via romantic and/or flirtatious relationships with others not their spouses, or via lusting after others or fantasizing over having improper relations with others not their spouse, this is adultery in the eyes of the Lord. But this is speaking of spiritual adultery which is cheating on the Lord via the idols and the cravings of the flesh and via sinning against the Lord who delivered us out of bondage to sin so we would be faithful.

And so what is this letting us know? If we are in friendly relations with the world and the things of the world – the desires of the flesh and of the eyes and the pride of life – this is enmity with God. So if we decide to be on friendly terms with the world of sin, we make ourselves enemies of God. For that is not of God but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. Therefore, God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (cf. 1 John 2:15-17).

And do you understand what that is saying? We cannot live for the flesh and for God, too. We cannot walk in sin and in holiness at the same time. We will do one or the other. We cannot desire God and desire the lusts of the flesh, too. The two don’t mix. So if we claim to be in fellowship with God, but while we walk (in conduct) in sin (in practice), we are liars. And if we claim to know God but while we do not obey his commandments, in practice, then we are liars. For if sin is what it obey, it leads to death. Obedience to God is what ends in eternal life with God (1 John 1:5-10; 1 John 2:3-6).

So, this is the solution to it all! This is the remedy. If we are to be genuine believers in and followers of Jesus Christ, we must submit ourselves to God to do his will. We must resist the devil, and we must flee temptation to give into sinful behaviors. For Jesus said that if anyone would come after him, he must deny self, take up his cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to sin, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, and obey our Lord, we have eternal life in him.
