  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What a deal! :)

Momma dragged me out of bed this morning at 0600 to go to a garage sale in Whitehall. A small thrift store was going out of business, and there were supposed to be bargains galore.

It frosted here last night (yay--die, mosquitoes!) because I could see it all over the garage roof when I got up. It was still only about 38° when we got there, with a small, but potent breeze blowing. All I had on was a short-sleeved shirt with a thin insulated shirt over the top of that.....I was freezing, to say the least.

One of the tables had hunting gear spread all over it. It was all pretty neat stuff, but I only found one item that fit me (and it fit me perfectly, too---almost like it was custom made for me!), which was a vintage Walls hunting parka, an obsolete Realtree camo pattern with knit cuffs and an attached snap-on hood. I asked the lady, "How much for the hunting coat?" She said "$10.00." I countered with $5.00. She said "How about $8.00?" I said "How about $6.50?" She said "$7.00." I said "Sold!!!" I immediately put the parka on, and I was warm as toast for the rest of the morning.

It looks exactly like the one below, except, as I said, mine has a hood.

There was also a pawn shop going out of business nearby; we went in there and I got a bunch of DVD movies; Momma got some nice jewelry for cheap. The kids got some stuff for themselves, and by then it was getting on towards 1030, so we headed home. We all got something to eat and then took long naps.

I looked up the same parka that I bought on-line, and one like it goes for anywhere from $35.00 to $60.00 on ebay or amazon; I'm pretty pleased that I only paid $7.00 for the one I got. Plus it kept me from getting chilblains.

59% want FBI agents charged

A majority of likely voters say FBI officials who promoted claims linking former President Donald Trump to Russia should be criminally prosecuted, according to a new Rasmussen poll.

The poll, released Friday, found that 59% of respondents say those inside the FBI who pushed the narrative that Mr. Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia colluded to sway that year’s presidential election should face criminal charges.

Shia LaBeouf: ‘I fell in love with Christ’ to portray Padre Pio on screen

(OSV News) — A film making its U.S. debut recounts the life of a beloved 20th-century saint — and the movie’s star told OSV News he “fell in love with Christ” to prepare for the part.

Actor Shia LaBeouf portrays St. Pio of Pietrelcina in the new drama “Padre Pio,” which premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival and will be released in U.S. theaters and on demand June 2.

Directed by Abel Ferrara, the movie traces a pivotal period in the life of St. (Padre) Pio, when the 33-year-old Capuchin Franciscan priest — bearing the stigmata, the visible wounds of Christ — begins what would become his lifelong his ministry in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy, just after World War I. (The Capuchin himself had served as a private in the Italian army’s medical corps during the conflict.)

LaBeouf said he “wasn’t even trying to make movies” when Ferrara approached him about the role.

The acclaimed 36-year-old actor — whose Emmy-winning career as a kid on the Disney Channel blossomed into big-screen success — found himself “totally lost” after his inner demons led to partying, work conflicts and run-ins with the law.

“I was wandering around, living in my truck,” he said. “I wasn’t interested in acting anymore.”

As LaBeouf began confronting his personal issues, Ferrara tapped him for “Padre Pio,” a saint to whom the Bronx-born director — best known for his gritty cinematic takes on the underworld — felt himself “drawn.”

Simple Prayers To Jesus For Help With Mental Health Problems | Meditations On The Love Of Jesus Christ

This is become something of a running theme with me.

I wrote some more prayers long and short for help with mental health problems - incluing issues of addiction.

I don't really want to go into the ins and outs of my own situation.

Maybe suffice it to say: too much attempt at self-reliance for too long.

Here are 2 I wrote:

Pray For Healing From Past Traumas And Emotional Wounds

Dear Jesus, I seek healing from the pain of past traumas and emotional wounds. Please touch my heart and bring restoration. Heal the hurt and scars that have affected me deeply. I trust in your power to mend and bring wholeness. Amen.

‘He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.’ (Psalm 147:3)

Dear Jesus, I carry the burdens of past traumas and emotional wounds that have left deep scars within me. I acknowledge that these experiences have caused me pain, and I long for your healing touch to bring restoration to my wounded soul.

I lay before you the memories and emotions that still haunt me, asking for your divine intervention to mend the broken pieces within. I invite you into the depths of my heart, where the wounds reside, and I ask that you apply your healing balm to every hurt and every scar.

Please bring forth your divine love and compassion to soothe the pain and bring comfort to my inner being. Allow your divine light to shine upon the darkness that lingers, dispelling the shadows of my past and filling me with renewed hope.

I surrender my pain and bitterness to you, knowing that you are the ultimate healer. Strengthen me, dear Jesus, as I embark on this journey of healing, granting me the courage to face the past and embrace the path of forgiveness and wholeness.

Help me to release the weight of the past and embrace the freedom that comes from your transformative love. May the wounds of my past be transformed into a testimony of your grace and redemption.

Thank you, Lord, for your promise of healing and restoration. I trust in your power and mercy to bring complete healing to my heart, mind, and spirit. In your loving and compassionate name, I pray. Amen.

And:

Pray For Healing From Addiction And Destructive Patterns Of Behaviour

Dear Jesus, I need your help. Please heal me from addiction and the bad things I keep doing. Set me free and give me strength to make better choices. Thank you for your love and care. Amen

‘If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.’ (John 8:36)

Dear Jesus, I need your help. I’ve been struggling with addiction and doing things that I know are harmful to myself and others. I feel trapped and helpless.

But I believe in your power to bring healing and freedom. Please remove this addiction from my life and help me break free from these destructive patterns. Give me the strength and courage to make better choices each day.

I know that I can’t do this alone, so I ask for your guidance and support. Surround me with people who will encourage me and help me stay on the right path. Give me the wisdom to seek help and the humility to admit when I need it.

Jesus, I long for a fresh start and a new life. Help me to rebuild what has been broken and damaged by my actions. Restore my relationships and give me the opportunity to make amends where I’ve hurt others.

I’m grateful for your love and care, Jesus. Thank you for always being there for me, even when I’ve made mistakes. I trust in your power to heal me and guide me towards a healthier and happier life. In your name, I pray. Amen.

Maybe it would be nice to talk with other Christians who have been in a similar place.

I can't be the only one.

I think it does take a lot to give up on trying to look strong.

I hope this message might make a difference to maybe even just one person feeling weak too - and a little ashamed of that.

Two Steps Forward, Three Steps Back

Two Steps Forward, Three Steps Back

December 4—“When you have entered into light, you will comprehend. Until then, you will just feel your way in truth:
you will be able to take love only little by little; otherwise your mortal eyes would be wounded.
But when the eye of your inner vision looks deep into the infinite, you will discover your poverty
and you will be overwhelmed with gratitude to God for having stooped down to your nothingness.”

Bossis, Gabrielle. He and I (Kindle Locations 3076-3079). Pauline Books and Media. Kindle Edition.

One of the frustrations of living the interior life is that slowly, over time, one after the other, the masks that are put on that we wear to hide from others, as well as ourselves, are taken away, and sometimes, actually ripped off. The process even though for most of us is very gradual, the experience is most of the time a shock. It is easy to see into others, but for ourselves, for me, it can be difficult to see through the veil that is constructed to keep out the truth.

At the beginning of one’s conversion, there can be feelings of joy and consolation that can help us get over the hurdles we must face as we begin the process of growing into becoming one with Jesus Christ. Yet soon, the real journey begins.

The Holy Spirit wishes us to come to the truth that will set us free. Our blind spots, wounds, and the many addictions that can be acquired as we age have to be faced. There will be many false starts and failures. These are important for one of the hardest lessons to learn is our need for God’s grace in our lives.

The human condition is in many ways, tragic. Freedom is hard won, and often in small steps. The old saying, “Two steps forward, three steps back” is a lived experience, one that allows us to grow in trust in God’s fidelity, even when we can feel that we have very little ourselves. Humility is hard-earned.

The deeper in we go, the worse we may think we are becoming. Yet, in actuality, we are simply seeing deeper into our souls, which is a healing grace.

Without self-knowledge spiritual growth is not possible. The only way we can be healed of negative and self-destructive cycles is to learn through experience that we do bear quite a bit of responsibility for many of our problems. An often hard pill to swallow.

One of the most painful aspects of spiritual growth is the actual knowledge of how hard it is for us to love. God, as well as others. We love out of need, which can take many turns, most of them leading to more pain. Once we learn about our need for conversion, we can stop blaming others for our problems, let go of the past, and forgive those who have harmed us. None of it is easy. The emotional after-effect can last for a long time even after forgiveness is given. Yes, the process can be exhausting.

It is this experience of inner poverty that leads us to a deeper trust in the love of God as shown to us by the revelation of Jesus Christ. We come to understand that our poverty, our wounds, and our sins, are not a obstacle to God’s love. It is our refusal to trust, grow, and let go of blame that keeps us captive in our self-created hells, and purgatories.

Trust is a choice, to seek joy is a choice as well, to embrace self-knowledge and to let go of sell-pity are also choices. The more we choose in the midst of inner suffering and turmoil to trust, the deeper in we go. It is suffering that brings us to the fork in the road, the goad is necessary.

One of the greatest temptations of the inner life is to give in to bitterness, to become cynical. Because of our tragic human state, this is a very easy condition to fall into. When we fight these temptations, it leads us to a different image of God. Our images of God, if we allow grace to work, will change as we experience life with all of its joys, and yes, sufferings.

Love of God, others, and self, is an absolute necessity if we wish to make the interior journey of faith that leads in the end to union with God. This union starts with the first step, with each new step we go deeper in. A journey that is eternal.-Br.MD

John Durham to testify before House Judiciary Committee after releasing scathing report

This information in part triggered and sustained Crossfire Hurricane and contributed to the subsequent need for Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation," the report said. "In particular, there was significant reliance on investigative leads provided or funded (directly or indirectly) by Trump's political opponents."

"The Department did not adequately examine or question these materials and the motivations of those providing them, even when at about the same time the Director of the FBI and others learned of significant and potentially contrary intelligence," the report said.
The public has been misinformed my the major media on the severity of the wrongdoing spelled out in the Durham report, and so these public hearings are crucial to the nation. We cannot have one political party feeding fake information to the government and have the government ignore contrary intelligence. Neither the FBI nor the Justice Department have demonstrated they can police themselves, and it seems like defunding, partially or fully, is the only way things will change.

IRS removes entire team investigating Hunter Biden

WASHINGTON – A whistleblower at the Internal Revenue Service, which is investigating Hunter Biden for potential tax violations, told lawmakers Monday his entire team was removed from the probe, according to a letter from his lawyers obtained by USA TODAY.

The letter said the IRS criminal supervisory special agent "was informed that he and his entire investigative team are being removed from the ongoing and sensitive investigation of the high-profile, controversial subject about which our client sought to make whistleblower disclosures to Congress." The Justice Department informed the whistleblower about the change.

Is this a replay of Ukraine and then VP Biden?

Open an investigation and the investigators are removed.

I remember you from the now defunct forum, ClubAdventist and speaking about God giving you the victory over your drinking problem. So, you don't think of it in terms if RxF or sanctification by faith alone, but you have experienced it in your life. I know never did as I had never heard of the term when God first gave me the victory over my drinking and drug habits in my mid twenties.

Because of the abuse I went through as a kid and on into my adult life from my family my addiction was really severe. I deliberately tried to destroy myself with drugs. I wanted all the pain to just go away and not be able to remember it anymore.

God used a friend of mine who had a real drinking problem to make a major change in me. He was busted for drunk driving and as part of his sentence he had to go to NA as part of his treatment program. He invited me to a meeting on a Friday night and I went just to be polite. This was after falling and failing several times after God had first given me the victory. I went into that meeting and it was like coming home. I had always felt completely alone before but that meeting showed me that there were other people who had the same experiences I did. I never used drugs again. Ironically my friend died of his alcoholism. He literally drank himself to death.

I tell you this, not to brag, but to give you more hope.

Compassion, poverty, and charity.

Jesus told a story about a Samaritan who helped a man who had been beaten and robbed on a road, probably the man was a Jew, and there was a long standing intolerance between Jews and Samaritans back then. The man was passed by a Levite and a Priest neither took pity and neither helped him. Only the Samaritan showed pity and compassion for him, helped him, and made sure he would be cared for until the Samaritan returned. There's a lesson here, Christians ought to see it easily. Why then is it so hard for Christians to acknowledge that the poor, disabled, and refugees in our times may need compassion and pity?

The Rich Merchants in the True Structuring of the Revelation

In “Exposing the Seven Heads of Revelation”Christian Forums it was confirmed that in Revelation 17 the scarlet beast “was” before the sixth king and revives fully as the eighth.

And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. (Revelation 17:9-11)

The proper reading of the passage undermines the preterist and futurist’s interpretation of Revelation. In the preterists’ rendering, it cannot be reasonably held that in John’s time, history confirms one emperor preceded a sixth one and ended up living again as the eighth. In the futurist’s reading, the antichrist or eighth king cannot have existed before the Roman Empire, which is the king that “is” in their view.

The passage from Revelation is a conundrum that is only solved by grasping that the Spirit took John to the future to witness the judgment of the harlot Babylon and the kings are kingdoms commencing with ancient Babylon. From this perspective, the king that “is” represents an entity of our time (the beast rising out of the earth, and the seventh is the image that it forms). From this perspective, the kings of the earth are already in bed with the harlot, and the earth’s inhabitants are already intoxicated by her doctrines, which is her “wine” (Jeremiah 51:7; Revelation 18:3).

And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great harlot that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. (Revelation 17:1-2)

The reason for the woman's condemnation is a matter of debate. Some argue that it is because she was unfaithful to God, as mentioned in Jeremiah 3:1-3, while others believe it is due to her corrupt nature, as described in Nahum 3:1-5 when referring to Nineveh. The first viewpoint suggests that she broke her covenant with God and its judgment time, while the latter implies that she was wicked from the start. The solution to this dilemma is revealed in the next chapter,

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. (Revelation 18:2)

Egeneto, translated “is become,” signifies a change in condition, which substantiates Babylon in Revelation 17 is judged for her infidelity to God, her fallen state, as in Jeremiah 3:1-3. Jeremiah 5:27 also supports this rendering in the example where the prophet wrote, “as a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore, they are become great, and waxen rich,” concerning covenant violations. And the NT is not silent about a great falling away before Christ’s return (Matthew 5:13, 24:12; 2 Thessalonians 2:1–12; 1 Timothy 4:1–3; Romans 14:10; 2 Corinthians 5:10). Furthermore, the seventh and final church in Laodicea, is judged for just such a fallen condition,

And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. (Revelation 3:14-17)

The state of being rich and increased with goods and yet being wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked is a significant reason God’s people were judged in the past, as witnessed in Jeremiah. This prodigal state is also linked to a market-driven society in which the merchants achieve an elevated status that is facilitated by the harlot Babylon,

For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. (Revelation 18:3)

The consequences of these links to past covenantal violations and the harlot Babylon undermine the preterist and futurist’s renderings. Preterists maintain the harlot represents the great city of Rome or the ancient city of Jerusalem. Yet, pagan Rome did not “become” the habitation of devils; inherently, it was pagan; they worshiped gods and goddesses. And the partnership of the Church, God’s people, with the wealthy merchants of the earth is a contemporary story, not a past one. The Jews in Christ’s time could not be regarded as enriching the earth’s merchants; the Roman Empire had enriched them. And feudalism destroyed the status of the merchants when Rome fell. As for futurism, the enrichment of the merchants, for the most part, has been ongoing for over two hundred years; it is not some future phenomenon. The most extraordinary rise of the merchants is a contemporary phenomenon commencing with the late eighteenth century that continues to this day.

With the rise of the papacy and feudalism, the merchants of the earth suffered a societal downfall. Before feudalism, the merchants of the Mediterranean region had attained great status through the Roman Empire. A secularist, lawyer, law professor, and author Michael Tigar wrote a book concerning the rise of capitalism in which he comments,

To regard Roman legal concepts as applicable to “all peoples” was not so formidable a conceit. Between 280 B.C. and the destruction of Carthage in the Third Punic War in 146 B.C., Rome had forcibly conquered most of the lands bordering on the Mediterranean. A village-based agricultural economy was rapidly being replaced by the class structure of the Empire, in which the dominant figures were traders, bankers, merchants, landowners, and the military power which protected their interests. The labor force which fueled this system was slave or half-free, recruited mainly from the conquered and colonized peoples. The power of the ruling class could commit the Roman state to the enforcement of a commercial law which permitted trade.[ii]

(It must be noted here that all past empires, such as the Babylonian, Persian, and Greek, were obtained through religion, raising the status of the merchants, and facilitating war.[iii]) With the fall of Rome, the Western dominion became feudal. It returned to a village-based agricultural economy in which the merchants became social outcasts, which was upheld by the papacy. “Profit-taking was considered a form of usury, and the merchant’s soul was thought to be in jeopardy.”[iv] As this stage developed the merchants, ultimately identified as the “bourgeois” for city dweller, were not content with their status but continually fomented rebellion to improve their status again,

merchants, town dwellers, or bourgeois— call them what you will— were advancing by open revolution, subversion, and economic chicanery ill-understood by their “betters.” All four groups were either outside the law or against it.[v]

This essay will focus on the role of merchants as an antagonist in the narrative of Revelation, particularly their association with the harlot. While the history of their rise since the fall of Rome is not within the scope of this essay, a market-driven society is a crucial part of the narration of Revelation. In this story, the rich merchants and the harlot Babylon play a significant role as antagonists at the return of Christ. Tigar's work sheds light on these merchants’ modern rise to power,

Finally, there are the laws that the merchants made for themselves, the legal system they fashioned to serve their own interests. First they set up tribunals to settle disputes among themselves, then wrested or cajoled concessions from spiritual and temporal princes in order to establish zones of free commerce, and finally— over a period of centuries— swept to power over nations.[vi]

Under feudalism, the papacy struggled with the merchants. In modern times the Protestants secularized society, which enriched the merchants. Sociologist George M. Thomas writes of this phenomenon,

The Protestant Reformation in addressing specifically religious issues raised by the nature of the feudal church articulated a rational cosmos… Ecclesiastical bureaucracy was delegitimated at several levels, resulting in a transfer of authority to the secular state and local institutions… The reformation found its first alliance with the territorial prince, partly because of a mutual interest in undermining imperial church authority, but basically because of a similar ontology based on rationalizing principles and common acceptance of a rational central authority. The spread of the Reformation throughout the town councils must be interpreted in the larger political contexts of its isomorphism with the prince as well as with the town’s increasing dependence on the incorporation into the central authority.[vii]

Prayer for me to have a deep effective relationship with God

I don’t like to go by what others tell me I just do out of fear but I want to actually experience Christ for myself on a deeper level that I may begin to walk on the path that leads to kingdom on death to repent of all sins. I would like an experience to know what I preach is true so I don’t fear. It has been a long time since I felt Christ presence and felt He was hearing my prayers to show me where to serve and be used to serve Him and walking with Him. I have not read His word much as before for I have thought I would not hear from Him and would be discouraged from difficult words if He does not show how He wants me to apply them.

Question about loss of salvation

I've been reading an article online, and it has got me thinking, particularly some of the comments on the article.

The basic argument is that we don't make a decision for Christ, that being in Christ is not something that happens based on a decision we make. Regeneration happens first, followed by faith. However there seems to be a requirement to abide (remain) in Christ, so what I am wondering is if someone fails to remain in Christ, is there any hope for that person? I mean can they get back into Christ?

Why protect the institution of the Church instead of letting God protect the church?

I ask because it seems churches want to protect themselves. We have seen it with the Catholic church, the Southern Baptist Conventions is now trying to deal with it and now the Assembly of God Chi Alpha has been accused covering up sexual abuse sandals. Are they afraid, if so of what?

Is atheism such an original thought?

Psalm 52: (Greek numbering)
1 (To the choir-master. The Melody, Mahalat. A maskil. Of David.✻ )
There is no God above us, is the fond thought of reckless hearts.
vv. 1-7. See notes on Ps. 13. In the part common to the two psalms, this one uses ‘God’ where the earlier psalm uses ‘the Lord’, but otherwise there is no substantial variation except in verse 6.
2 Warped natures everywhere and hateful lives, there is not an innocent man among them.
3 God looks down from heaven at the race of men, to find one soul that reflects, and goes in search of him;
4 but no, all have missed the mark and rebelled against him; an innocent man is nowhere to be found.
5 What, can they learn nothing, all these traffickers in iniquity, who feed themselves fat on this people of mine, as if it were bread for their eating,
6 and never invoke God’s name? What wonder if fear unmans them, where they have no cause for fear? Where are the foes that hemmed thee round?✻ God has scattered their bones far and wide, forgotten as his enemies must ever be.
Some think that this verse was inserted to celebrate the destruction of Sennacherib’s army (IV Kg. 19.35).
7 Oh, may Sion bring deliverance to Israel! Day of gladness for Jacob, day of Israel’s triumph, when God restores the fortunes of his own people.

Don't Take Time for Granted

Acts 20:28-32 ESV

“Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood. I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish every one with tears. And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”

The apostle Paul was speaking here to the elders of the church in Ephesus. For he was on his way to Jerusalem, knowing full well that imprisonment, afflictions, and most probably death awaited him there. For he told them that he knew that none of them would ever see his face again. And now he was giving them instructions, as well as warnings, that they were to heed.

Now, not all of us are overseers of church congregations, and we shouldn’t be if we are female, except in cases where there are no qualified men to do the job. But all of us who are part of the body of Christ are to care for one another. We are all to watch out for one another. And we are to exhort, encourage, urge, comfort, admonish, instruct, and support one another in our walks of faith and obedience to our Lord, and in our walks of holiness and righteousness, for the glory of God, and in his power and strength.

And this includes warning one another against these “fierce wolves” in sheep’s clothing who have come in among us and who are not sparing the flock. And this includes warning one another about these men (and women) among us who have risen and who are speaking twisted things, and who are drawing many disciples after themselves. For so many of them are teaching that a mere one-time profession of faith in Jesus Christ is enough to secure for them heaven and forgiveness of all sins, regardless of how they live.

But it isn’t just that. Some are teaching that we do not have to repent of our sins, and we do not have to obey the Lord, and that no works at all are required of us, but that Jesus does it all. And we just get to reap all the benefits because of what he did for us, while we go about living our lives the way we want. And some are teaching that, once we make that profession of faith, God can’t even see when we sin anymore, but that when he looks at us, all he sees is Jesus. And all that is contrary to the Word of God.

And not all of the deception is that open and blatant, either. A lot of it is hidden inside of what is truth where they are blending truth and lies together. But the lies are more suggestive and hinted at than declared openly. For the way they cleverly blend truth and lies together, it engages what is called misimpressions, i.e. faulty or incorrect impressions. So, they don’t come right out and tell you a lie, but they mislead you into believing a lie by leaving you with wrong impressions, on purpose.

And so we have many people professing faith in Jesus Christ, convinced that all their sins are forgiven (past, present, and future), and that they can never be held against them, and that heaven is guaranteed them when they die, merely on a once in a lifetime profession of faith in Jesus Christ, but regardless of how they live. And so many of them are still living in sin and for self, denying the Lord by their actions, living worldly and ungodly lives, but claiming Jesus as Lord and heaven as their eternal destiny.

So, we need to be alert, and we need to be watching for these things, and we need to be praying for discernment, and we need to be testing the spirits to see which ones are of God or not, according to the teachings of the Scriptures under the New Covenant, but in full context. For you can teach just about anything if you pull certain Scriptures out of their context and therefore you make them say what you want them to say to fit with your own lifestyle of choice. And many are doing exactly that!

And those of us who are following the Lord Jesus, in truth, should be weeping over the present condition of the church at large in America, although not representing every congregation. And in our tears we should be warning our brothers and sisters in Christ against false teaching and the lies of the enemy and deceiving spirits, and how subtle and hidden they can be in their deceptions. This should grieve our hearts that so many lies are being spread in the name of Jesus and that so many people are receiving the lies as truth without testing them against the Scriptures, in full context.

So, I want to encourage you to please not believe everything you hear or read coming from anyone who professes faith in Jesus Christ, or who says he is a preacher or a pastor or a Christian book author or any famous person who claims to be in relationship with Jesus Christ. For liars and lies abound these days, and deception and deceiving spirits are everywhere you look, pretty much. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to see the lies and the subtle deceptions so that you are not led astray to false teachings.

For not one of us knows when we are going to breathe our last breath. We may feel that we are perfectly healthy, but all of that could change in an instant. So, please don’t play around. Get serious about Jesus today!

When I Go Home

By G. M. Eldridge

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes…” Revelation 21:4

In the moment He appears
And the light from heaven shines,
I’ll forget ev’ry fear,
Ev’ry pain I’ll leave behind.
Then I’ll see Him as He is
And I’ll know Him as I’m known.
Ev’ry tear wiped away when I go home.

Ever present is the tho’t
That a moment waits for me
When unworthy as I am,
His glory I will see.
I will empty all my praise
Before my Father’s throne.
Ev’ry tear wiped away when I go home.

If the trial I endure,
And your presence I can’t find,
Be near me, Lord, I pray,
Bring back unto my mind
That your promises are firm
And I’m never on my own.
Ev’ry tear wiped away when I go home.

Quit Smoking

After 20 years i have finally decided to quit smoking. I am 36 years old and I quit drinking a while back as im a bad binge drinker. I promised this to my gf and said a prayer declaring my intentions and she was a witness to this. If anyone has any moral advice then let me know.

Pentecost/Shavuot (in a nutshell) what's it all about?

SHAVUOT/PENTECOST What’s it all about?

This is the time of year when this “Moed” (appointed time) is celebrated. There are three times when all Israelites were commanded to go up to Yerushalayim to celebrate God’s appointed times, Passover, The Feast of Tabernacles, and the Feast of Weeks, known as “Shavuot” or in Greek “Pentecost” which most churches recognize. We all remember the day of “Pentecost” as when the “Ruach HaKodesh” (The Holy Spirit) fell upon all the believers that were gathered in Yerushalayim to celebrate the Feast of Weeks.

Yet the “Feast of Weeks” (Shavuot) had been celebrated yearly for the past thousand years, ever since the day that Fire fell on Mt. Sinai. That was the very first “Shavuot”. When Moshe and the People of Israel received the Torah from God at Sinai in the form of two tablets of stone, but these were just the major points of the Torah, there were to be many more details in the making.

It really goes back to Egypt when the Israelites were still slaves. YHVH made some promises to His people, and we remember those promises in the form of the 4 cups of wine during Passover.

“I am YHVH, I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians

“I will deliver you from their bondage

“I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.

“I will take you for MY PEOPLE and I will be YOUR GOD.

The first three were accomplished in Egypt, then, at Sinai, on the day of Shavuot, the 4th promise was fulfilled. YHVH took the 12 tribes of Israel and united them as a NATION. The Israelites left behind Egypt, yet “Egypt” followed them across the Red Sea, in the form of mindset and philosophy and in the form of “false gods” This was evident when they made the “golden calf”. It took YHVH one day to take Israel out of Egypt, but it took 40 years to take Egypt out of Israel.

When we read Exodus 19:18,19 we read about the day of “Torah-giving” at Sinai. They received the Torah amidst lightning, thunder, the sound of the Shofar, and the voice of God. Yet when YHVH finished the 10th commandment, the people said, “Speak to us yourself Moshe, but don’t let God speak to us or we will die”

We wonder what would have happened if the people had not said that? Perhaps YHVH would have continued speaking out the commandments in front of all the people. But, YHVH called Moshe up to the top of the Mountain, and the rest of the Torah was given. 10 commandments were spoken directly to the people by YHVH, and 603 were spoken by God to Moshe, and later, given to the people.

In Leviticus, we see the commandment to celebrate Shavuot in chapter 23:15-22. They were to count “7” sabbaths (49 days) and then the next day (day 50) they were to celebrate. This time was harvest time. During the time of Passover, the barley harvest was ready, then 50 days later, the wheat harvest.

Two loaves of wheat bread were to be made and “waved” before YHVH (up towards heaven, down towards the earth, then to the North, South, East, and West) Blessing and thinking Adonai for the blessings from heaven (the rain that falls from Heaven down to the earth) blessing all the lands of the earth, those lands that are in the North, the South, the East, and the West. When it rains, the seeds come up, grow, and mature, then are harvested.

The rains that are needed are being withheld in El Salvador and in other parts of Central America. We need to implore our Heavenly Father to send the rains, the ground is drying up, and cattle are dying. Yet as I write, there is a small drizzle of rain, just a little, very little. Just heard a clap of thunder. Well, a little bit is better than no rain at all. Now, it is coming down a bit harder, just a little more.

One thing to note, God said; “when you enter the land which I am going to give you and reap the harvest…) So, this was not done while the Israelites were in the wilderness, but when they entered Canaan! And settled that land.

The two loaves of bread were to be baked with leaven. We think of leaven as related to sin, but it is also a good thing, leaven is also related to teaching and instruction. Yes, we are all “leavened” with the “sin nature” yet we are also “leavened” by God’s Word, his Torah, which should “grow” inside of us. So just as bread swells up and grows through leaven, so we grow through the “leaven” of God’s Word. The loaves of bread weighed about 5 pounds each.

Together with the two loaves, 7 yearling lambs were offered, also a bullock, two rams, and a drink offering were presented as burnt offerings. The lambs symbolize “Yeshua” who is the “lamb of God” The number 7 symbolizes perfection. The bullock symbolizes the “strength” of Adonai, the two rams remind us of the substitute ram which took Isaac’s place on Mt. Moriah. Two rams, perhaps one for the Jews and the other for the Gentiles, with the understanding that Yeshua was the substitute and redeemer for both Israel and for the rest of the nations (HaGoyim) The drink offering was wine, which symbolizes the blood of Yeshua.

One can wonder, why 2 loaves? The number 2 in Hebrew can symbolize “union and division”. It takes 2 entities to make a covenant. In our case, Yeshua and us! Through His death, we are “united” in Him when we trust Him as our LORD and Savior, and we are “divided” from the lost world of perdition. The two loaves of bread are waved from up to down, from North to South, and from the East to West. Asking blessings to fall from heaven (rain) to the earth, in all 4 corners of the earth. (and YES, we have rain now!) (at 7:45 pm, Thursday) Toda Raba Adonai!

We can look at the number 2 as in the loaves of bread as things that come in pairs; 2 tablets of the commandments, transformation and resurrection, cleansing and purification, death and life illustrated by the believer’s baptism, but it also symbolizes the Jews and Gentiles.

We can also see parallels in Sinai and Yerushalayim; Fire came down on Sinai, and it also came down at Jerusalem. The fire at Sinai did not touch the people, the fire during Jerusalem’s Pentecost DID touch each and every believer! At Sinai, the “Ruach Elohim” (Spirit of God) rested on Moshe, at Pentecost, it INDWELLED in every believer. At Sinai, the Torah was written on tables of Stone and read to the people, at Jerusalem, the Torah was written on the tables of the heart of believers. Both events took place on Shavuot, both events were accompanied by languages. At Sinai, in Hebrew, at Jerusalem, in Hebrew PLUS many, many other languages (some believe 70)

At Sinai, there was a mixed multitude (Israelites, Egyptians, and perhaps Nubians) at Jerusalem, there was also a mixed multitude of people from all over the then-populated world. These were Jews from surrounding nations who spoke other languages other than Hebrew.

The Torah is the teaching, and the Holy Spirit, is the “teacher” Pentecost at Jerusalem also fulfills Isaiah’s prophecy: “For out of Zion shall come forth the Torah and the WORD of Adonai, from Jerusalem” (Isaiah 2:3)

At Sinai, the people were kept away, at Jerusalem, the people were touched by God, and the glory of God came to each believer. In Old Testament times, the Spirit of God rested on only certain individuals, such as the Prophets, at Pentecost, it filled ALL BELIEVERS just as today, when a person receives Yeshua as LORD and Savior, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell inside of that person.

Another note; the Hebrew word KOLOT means both “voices” and “thunder”. At Sinai, the people heard “voices” both thunder and the voice of God. At Jerusalem, the people heard the “voices” of those who were gifted with different languages to preach God’s WORD.

A final note, the first fruits of the harvest can symbolize “Yeshua” and the “harvest” itself, ALL BELIEVERS who are part of it. Today, there is still much “fruit” to harvest, so, we must get busy and teach the word and share the gospel with those who have an ear to hear and a heart to accept the same.

Some customs for Shavuot include reading the Book of Ruth, since this happened during the time of harvest. The reading and studying of Exodus 19 and 20, when the Tablets of the Torah were given. Also, a tradition of reading the poem written by Rabbi Meir in the year 1097 entitled "Akdamut Milim" (Introduction to the Words) it can be found at 'Sefaria.org"

Other customs are eating cheese and milk products. We're having a pizza party this year. Some people dress white and decorate the sanctuary of the church/synagogue with flowers and green leaves. gifts of food, such as grains, rice, beans, and here, a lot of mangos! This year, Shavuot/Pentecost falls on May 26 and 27.

What denominations are known for their communal living?

I have heard of the Anabaptist, but I never knew much about them. This is one denomination of the Protestant Branch I haven't yet taken the time to study.

So far I first learned about the Old Order Amish, are there any other denominations that have communal living but with cars, dishwashers, electricity?

What do they believe about Salvation that differs from other Protestant denominations?

An Exposition of Eph.1:15-23. Christ's Resurrection! The power to enthrone His image over all creation, that the coming Age may come!

15 Because of this I also, having heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and the love to all the saints, 16 do not cease giving thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,

Because of this I also
... because of our redemption which he just was speaking about in the previous verse, In the letter to the Colossians, the Apostle Paul says that this love that is manifested to the saints, is for the Hope that is laid up for them in the Heaven; the working service of building up the body of Christ, is for the hope of the appearing of Christ in the heavenly realm, and our appearing with Him in glory (Col.1:4-5,23,27; 3:1-4).

17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of the glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the recognition of him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, for your knowing what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance within the Holy ones.

Paul’s prayer is for growth of maturity, that they continually grow in wisdom and revelation from learning the truth of who God is in the person of Christ. In order that they may know what is required from them that they attain unto the hope to which they have been graciously called (Phil.3:12) (in how we will appear with Christ in the heavenly realm, Col. 3:1-4,). That this hope to which we have been called becomes a living reality. For us to know the greatness of the inheritance that God has allotted unto us, as His corporate image in the middle of the divine counsel (Col.1:12; cp.Ps.89:5-8); this becomes the driving force to endure, by growing in the loving presence of God, in our knowing Him, energizes us to fulfill the working service that has been given us (Eph.3:19-21; 4:12-30).

19 and what the greatness of His power to us who are believing, according to the working of the power of His might,20 which He wrought in the Christ, having raised him out of the dead, and did set [him] at His right hand in the heavenly [places], 21 far above all principality, and authority, and might, and lordship, and every name named, not only in this age, but also in the coming one;22 and all things He did put under his feet, and did give him -- head over all things to the assembly, 23 which is his body, the fulness of the all (the cosmic geographical locations), wherein all (of God’s glory) fills.

Paul is revealing the power that is accessible unto us who are believing in the operation of God, who are believing that God raised Christ out from the dead ones, and in our union with Him by the baptism of the Spirit (Col.2:12), His headship has been given to us over the evil powers in the heavenly realm; as the channel through which God’s liberates us through His life-giving power (Eph.2:5-8). Believing that as God’s power over came the forces of darkness and raised Christ out from the dead as head over the order of creation (Col.1:15-18), this same power is at work in us, to overcome the powers of the order of this present Age (Eph.2:1-3; 6:12); in order to redeem us unto our inheritance, and bring in the coming age, the times for the restoration of all things (Phil.3:20-21; cp. Acts.3:19-21).

When we are enthroned with Christ upon the thrown of the ages [1] at the investiture (the appearing of Christ) of the one New corporate Man as God's image (1Tim.1:17; 6:16; lit. King of the Ages. cp. Col.3:10), God’s glory will then begin the ordering process, turning the time wheel of the cosmos from this age, into the next age, where God’s glory will fill all of creation during the appointed seasons (Eph.1:10).

God’s power through the Head of the New man will bring in the New creation through His body, by redeeming us into our inheritance. This is why we are the fullness of all that is to be filled, it is Gods power flowing through us towards the perfection of the one New Man (Col.1:28-29; 3:10; 4:12; Eph.2:15; 4:13, 24, 30), that the day of our redemption may come, to bring in the filling of all that is to be filled.

[1] See Ezek.1:26; Heb. 1:2; 11:3; wrongly translated worlds, it should be translated Ages (i.e. Mt.24:3, used in the singular form. Age), the lord fixed the time of creation. The ages of the constellations (Job.38:31-33).

Why does the Gospel contain nothing about believing Yeshua is God?

John 3:16 believe that he is God's Son.

John 3:16
16For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Paul said to believe in your heart God raised Yeshua from the dead, and confess with your mouth Yeshua is lord.

Romans 10:9
9that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Paul said the gospel that saves involves believing Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
1Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

Paul also said that the gospel is God's power, not Christs.

Romans 1:16
16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

Paul also believed it is God who justifies, not Christ.

Galatians 3:8-9
8And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.” 9So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.

Do you believe that the gospel is God's power to salvation for all of those who believe in their heart that He raised Yeshua from the dead, that God sent His Son because He loved the world, that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and raised again on the third day so that all who believe in him will not perish but have eternal life? I do!
