  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do Not Worry About Your Life

“For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!
“Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:25-34 NASB1995)

I want to compare these words here a little bit to some of the situations in the life of the apostle Paul, because I believe this will give us a better perspective as to what this is teaching here, in reality. Paul was a man of God, a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, who obeyed the Lord in taking the true message of the gospel of Christ to the people of the world. But he did not have it easy, for he faced much opposition and trials along the way.

He was beaten with rods, and he received many lashes. He was stoned and left for dead. He had many sleepless nights. He was hungry and thirsty, often without food, out in the cold with his body exposed to the elements. He faced imprisonment numerous times. He experienced weariness and pain often. He was in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, and danger from his own countrymen, etc. All this was in his service to the Lord Jesus Christ (see 2 Corinthians 11:23-29).

This passage of Scripture in Matthew 6 is not a promise from God that if we are his children that we will never go hungry, that we will never be lacking in what to wear, for Christians throughout all generations in multiple nations of the world have faced and are still facing the kinds of trials and tribulations as what Paul faced, and perhaps more. And I think about that every time I read this Matthew passage, and I wonder how they will receive Jesus’ words.

I am presently being faced with a perhaps very serious situation. A couple of weeks ago I was lying down in bed, attempting to fall asleep, when suddenly I felt this very sharp pain in my chest in the area where my heart is located. I felt chest pressure, a crushing feeling in my chest, and I had a cough and shortness of breath, and pressure in my ears. This was followed by a sharp pain underneath my left arm, fullness in my head, pain in my right ear, and pain in my back and side in the same general area as was the chest pain.

Eventually I made the decision to go to the hospital. They did a scan of my lungs and discovered that a tumor I’ve had there since 2014 had now grown, almost doubled in size. But in 2016 it had not grown, so we don’t know at what point it began growing. But it is pressing against my rib cage and my nerves and it is causing a lot of pain and discomfort, including chest pressure and labored breathing, etc. But it doesn’t end there. There are also concerns about my thyroid and the pain and fulness in my head, too.

So, they have ordered a bunch of tests for me to have to try to determine what is going on inside my body so that they know what steps need to be taken to help resolve the pain, especially the part that impacts my ability to breathe. Now I trust the Lord in all of this, and I don’t normally run to doctors or hospitals when I am in pain, but this time I believe the Lord has a purpose in all of this in my life, and perhaps in other people’s lives, but I know he is going to walk me through it all as I hold on to him, trusting him.

And I think that really is the message in this Matthew 6 passage. It isn’t that God is going to spare us from every trial and tribulation which comes into our lives to test our faith. It isn’t that we will never have times of hunger or thirst or to be in want of shelter and clothing. It is that when we face these trials that we do not worry about what we are having to suffer out of fear of having to go without out, or in fear of pain, suffering, and perhaps death. For God will meet our needs, but not necessarily what we want or desire.

And sometimes we need these trials and tribulations in our lives more than we need comfort and all our physical needs fulfilled. For God uses these difficulties in our lives to test our faith, to mature us, to make us holy, to purify our hearts, to draw us closer to him, to make us more steadfast and serious about our relationships with the Lord, and to humble us so that we will be more reliant on the Lord for all our needs. So we are not to be those who worry about what’s coming next, but we are to trust the Lord fully.

We need to keep our eyes, hearts, and minds focused on the Lord, trusting him with our trials and tribulations, trusting him to work them all out for what is truly best for us, for our ultimate spiritual good. And more than food and clothing or bodily health and comfort, we must seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, trust him in all circumstances, surrender our lives to him, follow him in obedience, and live holy lives pleasing to God, in the power of God and in his strength and wisdom, trusting him fully in all ways.

This is what the Lord says to you:
Fear not, for I have chosen you.
I have summoned you by your name.
You are mine. I died, you to save.

When you go through your trials, so deep,
I will be with you; you will not sink.
You are so precious always to me.
Trust in your Lord, Savior and King.

This is what the Lord says to you:
He who gave salvation to you;
Who delivered you from your sin;
Takes your burdens now upon Him:

Forget the former things of your life.
Give of your heart not now up to strife.
See all the new things I have for you.
Walk in vict’ry. Trust in what’s true.

This is what the Lord says to you:
He who made you; who will help you:
Do not fear what humans may do.
Walk in freedom. Follow what’s true.

Drink of my Spirit given for you.
Trust in my mercy, for I love you.
I have a plan for all of your life.
Follow my ways. Do what is right.

prayer for endurance for me please

James 1:2-4 said:
2 Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

I could use some better obedience to this verse in my life. I would appreciate prayers for this. Thanks.

3 dead, 8 injured in shooting at American Fish Company in Southport, NC

ChyAnn Ketchum, Southport’s Public Information Officer, said a boat came up to American Fish Company on Yacht Basin Drive, paused and then opened fired on the patrons before heading up the Intracoastal Waterway towards Oak Island.

This is a developing story.

Southport, NC, is a small coastal town with a population under 5,000 and was the filming location for the 2013 movie "Safe Haven," based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks, and "I Know What You Did Last Summer," filmed in 1997. The restaurant where this mass shooting occurred, American Fish Company, appeared in both films.

Tenn. AG Skrmetti weighs in on city banning Charlie Kirk prayer vigil

Tennessee’s Republican Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti has entered the debate over a city’s ordinance restricting religious events in a public space, which gained headlines when a local resident was prohibited from holding a Charlie Kirk prayer vigil.

In a letter sent to Morristown Mayor Gary Chesney on Thursday, Skrmetti stated that “Tennessee law prohibits denying a person the full and equal enjoyment of a public accommodation on the grounds of religion.”

At issue was Section 9-204 of the Morristown Code of Ordinances, which bars an outdoor space known as the Farmer’s Market and Downtown Green from being used for religious purposes.

Hell As Purgative?

Posted In The Eastern Orthodox Sub-Forum

Is there any room within Eastern Orthodoxy for a hope that Hell is temporary and purgative, or a hope in Universal Reconciliation in some other way?

I am vaguely aware of Eastern Orthodox thinkers like Sergei Bulgakov and David Bentley Hart who espouse or seem to espouse Universalism. So could such a belief be validly held by an Eastern Orthodox Christian?

Thank you. :herb:

Curious as to what precisely makes Full-Preterism considered an non orthodox heresy?

I'm not asking as a Preterist. I disagree with them as strongly as I disagree with dispensationalists and pre, mid, post, ah= millennialists as far as the scripture is concerned. But I have never seen someone cite anything other than what they believe to tag them as "heretics." So it is something I have been curious about for decades.

Trump ‘won’t allow Israel to annex West Bank;’ says hostage deal could happen ‘soon’

Trump says he wants Gaza War 'over with,' expresses optimism that deal can be reached

Amid speculations over Israel’s possible response to a wave of “Palestine”recognitions, U.S. President Donald Trump declared on Thursday that he would not allow Israel to annex Judea and Samaria, internationally known as the West Bank.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump was pressed to confirm reports that he had assured Arab and Muslim leaders he would block Israeli annexations, a move strongly pushed by many of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition partners.

“I will not allow Israel to annex the West Bank. I will not allow it. It’s not going to happen,” Trump said. “Whether I spoke with Bibi or not — and I did — I will not allow Israel to annex the West Bank. That’s enough. It’s time to stop now.”

Things none of ya'll have ever read about Revelation.

tmor2.jpg

Are you ready to understand the mysteries of the book of Revelation chapters 6-19? The four horseman, the seven seals, trumpets and vials? These are very real events that were prophesied using highly illustrative language. To be able to do this do this you have to understand and accept the Bibles own interpretation of its own prophecies in the Old and New Testaments. If you refuse this or don't know to, then it is humanly impossible to understand the book of Revelation's prophecies. Yes, that means the four-hundred thousand books written on these prophecies and the six-hundred and fifty-million commentaries along with billion times some person said the Holy Spirit revealed to me..... are all wrong. This is why nothing anyone ever says regarding it comes to pass either. Sorry I can't make this easy reading for Social Media readers. This time you have to break out multiple windows of the Bible and history sites.

Daniel chapter 2 & 7 are prophecies of an age of universal oppression for all believers measured by four empires. The first one in Daniel chapter 2 is named as Nebuchadnezzar's Babylon. The second and third empires are named in Daniel 8 as Medo\Perisan and Greek. Rome's conquest of the Syrian and Egyptian quarters of the Greek Empire is prophesied in Daniel 11; and Rome is named all over the NT. The dates this age of universal oppression of the saints starts is 597 BC when Nebuchadnezzar conquers Judea and ends in 1453 AD when what had been the capitol of the Roman empire since 333 AD, Constantinople was conquered by the Turks. These prophecies actually gave us the date of the end of that age which you can see in my article- The Times and Seasons of the Bibles Prophecy.

After the end of the Roman Empire the Bible said this is what would take place: Daniel 7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. Two things clarify the exact meaning of that. One is dozens of chapters of the Bibles prophecy like Isaiah 54, 60, 61, 62, 65:17-25, Psalm 72. etc. The other is what happened historically. The Bible began illegally making its way into the hands of the general public right when the Roman Empire ended. Those Bible reading people won and pioneered this growing free world and now billions are coming to Christ.

Revelation 6-19 contain two parallel prophesies of the same events with different details. I'll be listing them appropriately.

Revelation chapter 6:1-8's first four seals and four horseman are the four empires spoken about in the second paragraph of this article.
The reason this is evident is that this prophecy in Rev. chapters 6-11 is repeated in Rev. chapters 13-18. with the same seven judgments as Rev. chapters 6-11. Only instead of four horsemen. The four animals that are used in Rev. chap. 13 are the same ones in Daniel 7 which has already been interpreted for us by the Bible as the four empires. Now some might ask then; what is the lamb like animal in Rev. 13? All the end time prophecy relating to the end of the old covenant age and the end of the age of oppression of all the saints everywhere measured by these four empires starting with Daniel chap. 2 are simply expansions, meaning added details of that original prophecy. That is what the prophecy of of the lamb with two horns is. An added detail of things that will transpire in the Roman Empire. It's a prophecy of Roman empires split into an eastern and western branch. The two horns illustrate the split. The fact that it is a lamb like animal is the empires claims of Christianity that occurred at the same time the capitol was moved to Constantinople. It speaking the words of the dragon is self explanatory. The number 666 is the number of years between the beginning of the age of these four gentile empires when Nebuchadnezzar first conquered Judea in 597 BC and the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. There is no year -0- making it 666 years. Buying and selling? Rome had already enrolled the peoples of its empire to be taxed right at the beginning of the Gospels as that was the reason Mary and Joseph had to go to Bethlehem to be enrolled.

Revelation 6:9-7:8 & Rev. 14:1-5, the fifth and sixth seals are a prophecy about the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD.
It starts in chapter 6 citing the murder of the old testament saints, many at the hands of their countrymen and telling them the judgment will not come until the same ill treatment NT saints in Israel has reached its zenith. The 144,000 illustrate the followers of the messiah in Ancient Israel that escaped the destruction of the city by listening to Jesus's many prophecies about it. Most notably in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21. Now the attention of the prophecy turns to the Roman Empire.

Revelation 7:9-17 & Rev. 14:6- 20 though still part of sixth seal is a prophecy of the great harvest of souls in the Roman Empire.
While Rev. 7:9-17 emphasizes the tribulation Rome will put the saints through along with a prophecy of what would occur when that tribulation ends; both in this life or in the next life. Rev. 14:6-20 adds to that the pronouncements of Rome's doom for its murder of the saints.

Revelation 8:1-5 & Rev. 15 is the seventh seal. The prayers, cries and praise of the saints during the time of their tribulation and heavens answer.
We are now close to the third century. Passed the time of the ten Roman emperors spoken of as ten toes in Daniel 2 and ten horns in Daniel 7, Rev. 12, 13 and 17. The ten after Titus who destroyed Jerusalem. Starting with Domitian and included historically 5 "good emperors" ending with Didius Julianus. During the time period the saints multiplied exceedingly, partially due to the lack of imperial persecutions. This basically sealed the fate of the Babylonian system of state imposed idolatry in the empire. This system was part of the Roman government as people like Julius Caesar and Mark Antony were the Head Pontiff's of this state imposed religion. After Octavian became Rome's first emperor all titles were now placed upon the emperor. This called for action as past persecutions or just leaving the Christians alone did not work. That action came in the form of Septimius Severus in 193 AD. The 11th (little horn) of Daniel 7 who started the war on the saints that over came them for 1260 years until the end of the empire. He passed the worlds first blasphemy law. The death penalty for becoming a Christian. The end of the Severun dynasty was when the first of the seven trumpets or plagues came upon the empire.

Revelation 8:7 & Rev. 16:2. The first trumpet, plague or vial was Cyprians plague. 249-262 AD. From here on the acronym TPV will be used for Trumpet, plague or vial.
The plague is described in chapter 16:2 and the results in chapter 8:7. Perhaps up to 5000 people a day were dying in Rome. By the historical descriptions it is easy to imagine a third of the empire perishing from the plague and resulting famines. This resulted in the destruction of a third of the crops in the empire simply because there was no one to tend to or harvest them.

Revelation 8:8-9 & Rev.16:3. The second TPV lists more results of Cyprian's plague on the empire.
The sea here illustrates the nations and a third of the peoples of the Roman empire dying. The mention of the ships is because during this time period by the end of the third century Rome's infrastructure was destroyed. The system that was able to deliver goods empire wide in a matter of weeks was gone. Great cities emptied out since they could no longer be sustained. Money failed. The people turned to barter and sustenance farming. Later imperial decrees created the serf system that tied the people to lands as slaves to landholders. This is the reason Rev. 16:3 uses the illustrative language it does about every living soul dying in the sea- the empire. That is an illustration about the height and the glories of the Roman Empire of the last few centuries perishing at this point, never to return again. The world would not see and international infrastructure like this being built until a few hundred years ago. One might call this the beginning of the dark ages and be correct, but we still have 5 calamities to go.

Revelation 8:10-11 & Rev. 16:4-7. The third TPV was a breakup of a third of the empire, the entire eastern part.
Remember the sea and waters are being used illustratively to speak of the empire and the peoples. Interesting enough the area of the breakaway state is where the wormwood plant pretty much exclusively grows. This breakaway state called the Palmyrene Empire was also where the fountains of the great rivers of Asia minor, the Middle East and Egypt arise from. All the blood letting due to this episode is what is being emphasized by these prophecies.

Revelation 8:12-13 & Rev. 16:8-9 The fourth TPV signals what would transpire that would destroy a third of the luminaries which are the leaders, the stars, the celebrity of the empire.
This was the beginning of a great 300 year long drying period in the empire that would turn a lot of fertile land that fed it into desert. This fourth TVP as a pronouncement of the next three of the seven TVP's which also prophesied the three woes. Those three woes turned out to be the three times the city of Rome was conquered by foreign armies during this period to come.

Revelation 9:1-12 & Rev. 16:10-11 The fifth TVP is because the drying period drives Huns and the Alans west in a great migration into Eastern Europe over the next century.
This in turn drives the Germanic tribes, the Visigoths south, eventually into Italy where they conquered the city of Rome, the seat of the beast, which was the first woe.

Revelation 9:13-21 & Rev 16:12-15 The sixth TVP is the full blown invasion into Europe by the Huns and Alans.
Chapter 9 illustrations describe the Huns and Alans quite well. I do not know the significance of using the valley of Megiddo in Chapter 16 as illustration in this prophecy.

See the first comment for the next half

what would you do/abusive work/sign from God?

Please before I start I like to ask to refrain from negativity, as it is sensitive topic. I will not engage with any of negative comments or attempt to "psychology analyse". I am not inviting that.
I wonder what the best option would be seen from a godly perspective.

While studying we usually have side jobs. As such with me. One day first day found out the "team leader" (runs the whole house with 2nd assistant leader) (care home) was a big time abuser. I did read reviews before, but they cleaned it so was just one negative. But it was disturbing enough telling you about long term bullying, shouting and screaming to colleges, for full storm. Owner allows it. Five managers left in five months. High turnover. Much suffering. And I`m there. First day, team leader and 2nd leader acted like we were old friends. Very boundary crossing that. When team leader manager heard I was doing psychology she asked me if I could see something with her. I said that `s not how it works trying to avoid. I told her some general stuff, while she tempted me into sin and my past in new age and the occult. Which I then had to repent for. (I was like ,wow, is this an attempt from the enemy must be then what if it is more here like entities) I say that because it was that sudden out of the blue, and very pushy.
I said things about what I picked up on her, and I was right. (like I said I had to repent but such things are a fine line as you get given from God and I do have discernment of spirits and prophetic gifts so.. hard) She was taken aback. She start to tell me how she blows up full storm they get it all(as I understood it criticism, nasty things, weakness and errors real or made up especially petty things or imaginary)her colleges, she said everyone gets it, she does not care.
I tried to help her. I talked to her about it, and I made suggestions which she had not heard before I even told her how to pace herself and proceed. To manage. She told me it came from her past and how she grew up and was taught. I expressed sympathy and tried to help. She did not want to change. She said she could not and did not want to control
her emotions, and that she was VERY moody. I felt for her. I really did .
The other leader shut down a bit towards me when I was seeing through the other. She either did not stand up or said anything how it was wrong treating others like that. Which I noted.
A little backstory. I grew up with npd narcissist mother and brothers and a lot of bullying for years, something I have had to go to therapy for and I had good help at the time. Still you can feel things more even though, like a healed wound but if someone deliberately tramp on it. You get the idea.
As such, I could be retraumatised in an environment like this, and these things generally create a lot of stress physically and mentally. You will always be more vulnerable to stress because of it. When you have health conditions, you risk over time health problems, such as high blood pressure. And I have diabetes type 2.
Plus I am generally very sensitive to stress. Most likely, because of the past.
I take good care of myself and am aware.
Also as an ambi vert I process stress differently. Need more time, and recharge runs out faster. I also suffer cronic fatigue syndrome(if you don`t know look up cfs/me) so stress gets me there too. More health issues.
(it is a neurological disease)
So stay there could most likely risk my health. Plus retraumatise me. As I still get very emotional and sad when it is.
Also due to my nature. I`m a sensitive gentle soul.
Yes one can potentially be retraumatised, open up old wounds, even if you are so to speak healed.
You would then freeze, fawn, fight or flight, typical responses in danger. You would succumb or fight. Old ways of responding might surface. Old trauma. And the abuser would use and abuse it. You might have to deal with everything again. The risk is higher the longer you stay in such an environment. Even the strongest as they say.

She already acted harshly on the phone with me previously without need to.
I noted the lack of professionalism.
Financially it is a drain. Trains are not cheap in Uk.
Bus takes like 1,5 hrs.
The way they placed the rota and everything.

So she abuses and misuse everything and does not intend to stop and the owner is accepting it and people leaving and all that. It doesn`t take much to get the issues.
I sit here wondering what to do and how to deal. I have been offered a new job somewhere else, where I would actually only take care of ONE client, nights(the other nights even though they placed me days too)
I could even get shifts where you sleep, available of course, but still.
In ONE location.
Care home like 20 -40 people.
Yes very little stress.
Not started yet though, now it is time for references and paperwork(all good there)
I wanted to do 2 jobs combine. Financial.
Pay the same.
I really liked the care home a lot, and the rest of the people.
But maybe I am being decieved by the enemy. She`s not gonna change. I did ask God to give me another job if this was not good for me I told him everything.

Should I stay or should I go. the other job will start once references and paperwork finish. And I won`t get paid from the first anyway until end of october and by then I would most likely start the other.

My son is putting me on an emotional roller-coaster.

He just got the job at a prison. Now, he's signing up for the Army reserves. Pray he knows what he's doing and he's protected with these jobs. I can't keep up with his latest career plans. At his age (34), I though he'd be slowing down, but I guess not.

Any prayers or advise for a nervous mom would be helpful.
Thanks!

Money manager and his personal assistant detained in sex trafficking case

Money manager Howard Rubin detained in sex trafficking case after feds cite hitman threat

  • Famed money manager Howard Rubin was arrested in Connecticut on charges of sex trafficking and transporting women across state lines for commercial sex acts.
  • Rubin is accused of a litany of stomach-churning, abusive acts against women in an alleged “sex dungeon” in New York City.
  • A judge ordered Rubin detained without bail after prosecutors argued he was a flight risk and that he had discussed hiring a “hit man to target women who had filed a civil suit against him.”
  • Rubin’s former personal assistant, Jennifer Powers, was also arrested and charged in the case.
Rubin is alleged in a 10-count indictment to have participated in sex acts with the women in luxury hotels in New York, and later rented a two-bedroom penthouse apartment in Manhattan that was converted into a so-called “sex dungeon” outfitted with bondage, discipline, dominance, submission and sadomasochism equipment, as well as soundproofing.

Prosecutors said that there were at least 10 other people who helped Rubin facilitate his alleged crimes, and cited tax documents that they argued indicated his financial crimes continued until his arrest.

They said Rubin was found with eight cell phones and three BlackBerry devices. He would not reveal where his passport was, and did not surrender it when arrested.

FBI fires agents who, to de-escalate the situation, knelt at protest after George Floyd's death: Sources

The FBI has fired a group of agents who kneeled during a civil rights-related protest in Washington, D.C., in the wake of George Floyd's death in 2020, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.

At least some of them were reassigned earlier this year, but now as many as 20 agents have been fired, the sources added.

One source familiar with the matter said the agents kneeled during the protest as a de-escalation strategy, after angry protesters -- outnumbering the agents -- urged them to kneel. The source said a previous internal review of the agents' actions found that the kneeling was not meant to be a political statement of solidarity with the protesters.

Gay Pride reveals its true colours: anti-Catholic hatred

After Cardinal Müller's comments on the 'rainbow jubilee', Gay Pride in the province of Brianza, northern Italy, stages a blasphemous parody of the Way of the Cross. It is a violation of the penal code and exposes the true face of the LGBT+ movement: hatred towards the Catholic Church.

presentazione-brianza-pride-large.jpg

Our Lord continues to be crucified and insulted at the foot of the cross. The cross itself, and the path of suffering that led Jesus to Golgotha, are the objects of mockery this weekend. Jesus and his cross are insulted by our sins and those of the gay community. This is particularly true of the Brianza rainbow community, which has organised the Brianza Gay Pride event in Arcore, in northern Italy, for Saturday 27 September.

As Pride events no longer make headlines, and Catholics are now seen as easy targets for mockery, the organisers have come up with the offensive idea of structuring the procession according to the Via Crucis. For this event, it will be called the 'Via frocis' (in Italian it's a play on the word "frocio" meaning gay). Ten stations instead of fourteen to denounce stereotypes of LGBT+ and progressive thought by mimicking the titles of the Stations of the Cross: 'Gaza condemned to death' and 'rainbow families carry the cross of the Varchi DDL', which outrageously recalls Christ's meeting with his mother; 'Hungary falls on LGBT rights' and 'Brianza falls under the cement of the motorway', recalling Jesus' falls to Calvary; 'Brianza Pride meets non-binary' and transgender women, when Jesus actually meets women in Jerusalem. At the eleventh station, Jesus is nailed to the cross, but at the blasphemous eighth station, 'Italy is nailed to the cross of Vatican interference', spreading hatred against the Catholic Church. The ninth station of the Via Frocis is dedicated to meeting students. Finally, at the tenth station, we will discuss rights for everyone (except Catholics).

Tim Allen inspired by Charlie Kirk's widow to forgive his father's killer after 60 years

Actor Tim Allen said he has struggled for over 60 years to forgive the drunk driver who killed his father, only now finding the will to do so after hearing Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, say she forgave the young man charged with murdering her husband.

Allen, who is best known for playing Tim "The Toolman" Taylor on the sitcom “Home Improvement,” reflected on Erika’s speech during the Sunday memorial service for her husband, where she revealed that she forgave Tyler Robinson, the man charged with killing her husband.

“When Erika Kirk spoke the words on the man who killed her husband: ‘That man … that young man … I forgive him.’ That moment deeply affected me,” the 72-year-old actor wrote in a Thursday X post. “I have struggled for over 60 years to forgive the man who killed my Dad. I will say those words now as I type: ‘I forgive the man who killed my father.’”

“Peace be with you all,” Allen stated.

Bestselling children's author Robert Munsch plans to end his life by assisted suicide; ethicists react

Bestselling Canadian children’s book author Robert Munsch is planning to end his life through physician-assisted suicide.

Munsch, 80, has written dozens of children’s books, including bestselling works like The Paper Bag Princess and Love You Forever.

During an interview with The New York Times published last Sunday, Munsch expressed a desire to die before he starts having “real trouble talking and communicating.”

The author applied for and received approval to kill himself through "medical assistance in dying," or MAiD, after he was diagnosed with dementia in 2021 and, later, with Parkinson’s disease. MAiD, or "medical assistance in dying," was legalized in Canada in 2016.

“Hello, Doc — come kill me!” he joked during the interview. “How much time do I have? Fifteen seconds!”

Mary Szoch, the director of the Center for Human Dignity at the Family Research Council, a nonprofit research and educational organization, acknowledged the impact that Munsch’s diagnosis has likely had on him and his family, but opposes assisted-suicide as being the lone option for people suffering from disease, illness or depression, which is being pushed in Canada.

The Abuse of ‘Sanctuary’

Contemporary Polish political philosopher Zbigniew Stawrowski argues that part of our modern problem is philosophical bait-and-switch: terms have been coopted by the Left, emptied of their original meaning, and replaced with new notions unmoored from the original. We see this in words like “rights,” “justice,” and “marriage.” We also see it with “sanctuary.”

God is the source of human rights, not government

As Americans, we are living in extraordinary times. In my almost eight decades of living in this extraordinary republic called the United States of America, I have never witnessed or experienced anything even approximating the memorial service for Charlie Kirk in Phoenix last Sunday night. Reportedly, well over 100,000 people attended the service, and millions more participated through television.

And the service itself had more of the feel and intensity of a Billy Graham Crusade than a political event. And even though an unprecedented number of high government officials were there, including the U.S. President, Vice President, Secretary of State, and Secretary of War, their remarks were more religious and spiritual than political in tone and substance.

It is becoming increasingly clear that Charlie Kirk has had an amazing and electrifying impact on millions of the nation’s young people, especially Generation Z (1997-2012). I have had at least a dozen colleagues (most involved in some form of ministry) share with me how shocked they were by the emotional impact Charlie Kirk’s death had on their late teen and early twenty-something children. Most of them knew their children listened to him, but had no idea the impact he was having on their thought lives and spiritual lives.

I believe God was using Charlie Kirk as part of a Christian spiritual awakening on our nation’s college and high school campuses. I further believe that his assassination has strengthened and magnified his cause.

Furthermore, it is clear that an unashamed patriotism and love of America is part and parcel of what God has used Charlie Kirk and others to awaken on American campuses and beyond.

German Peace Movement

There are some real nutcases in this country. Some do not believe we should have an army at all. Is this naivety, well-meaning stupidity, or just fear, like in the eighties about war? Why are so many people so vulnerable to these leftists who see no threat in Putin but regard the German Bundeswehr and military industrialists as the enemy instead

Still Wandering in The Wilderness?

“Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:1 NASB1995)

The Lord brought to mind this morning a secular song with religious overtones, written by Billy Joel, called, “The River of Dreams” (1993). What he described in the song lyrics was a person of religious heritage who knew the way of salvation, but who was wandering in the wilderness. He knew the right way, the way of truth, the way of God and of his righteousness and holiness, but something always held him back from crossing over to the other side, into “The Promised Land,” and into eternal life with God.

He was on a journey, with his sights set on “The Promised Land,” but he never quite got there. Something always stopped him, perhaps his addiction. He seemed to go back and forth from a place of hope to a place of despair, always struggling to find inner peace, for he continued to walk in the darkness and not in the light of truth and righteousness. He knew he needed to pass from the darkness to the other side, and he said that he tried, but doubt was standing in his way, keeping him from reaching his destination.

Billy Joel finally came to the conclusion that he was not sure about life after this life, and he acknowledged that God knew he was not a spiritual man. And sadly, that is where many people are today, in one way or another, who know the way of righteousness and holiness, who know that the answer they are looking for requires that they cross over to the other side, that by faith in Christ they die with Christ to sin, that they obey God and his commands, and that they cease with their wanderings, but something holds them back.

And I know this doesn’t seem to quite fit the passage of Scripture, but yet it does. Although I don’t believe that Billy Joel was practicing righteousness, or that he was putting on a performance to try to show that he was, still he seemed to be pursuing passing over to the other side, but he never could get there, and so he finally gave up. Why? Because his efforts were of the flesh and not of the Spirit of God, not from someone who’s life was being guided by the Spirit, but someone who’s life was controlled by the flesh.

And that, in truth, is the picture in this passage of Scripture, for it is someone performing or trying to be religious or to appear religious for human approval which means all their efforts were of the flesh and not of God and that is why they never truly became righteous, but only in appearance. In other words, if you are living in addiction to sin, but all your efforts to be free of your addiction and to “cross over to the other side” have been of the flesh, and not of God, you will never reach your destination.

There are, though, many people professing faith in Jesus Christ outwardly, who might even appear righteous on the outside, whether or not by willful performance, who are still wandering in the wilderness, still living immoral, wicked, rebellious, idolatrous, revelrous, deceptive, adulterous lives, in direct defiance and disobedience to our Lord and to his commandments, just like so many did who wandered in the wilderness and who died in the wilderness, and who did not enter into the Promised Land for lack of obedience to God.

And what they did is written down for us in the Scriptures as examples for us in what not to do and of the results we should expect if we follow their example (1 Corinthians 10:1-22). And this wasn’t just about physical death, for we will all die one day unless Jesus returns and he takes us to be with him while we are still alive on the earth. But this is a warning to all who make outward professions of Christ as Savior but who are still wandering in their sin. If you do not die to sin and obey God, you have no eternal reward from God, because your sin always keeps you from true faith which saves.

As the Deer

By Martin J. Nystrom
Based off Psalm 42:1

As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after You
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

Do Not Be Surprised

“For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another; not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous. Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you.” (1 John 3:11-13 NASB1995)

Cain and his brother Abel were the first sons of Adam and Eve. They each offered a sacrifice to God, but God had no regard for Cain’s offering, but he did for Abel’s offering, through which Abel obtained the testimony that he was righteous. So Cain became very angry, and even though God spoke with him about his anger, and what he needed to do about it, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and he killed him. And God told Cain that he was now cursed from the ground that received his brother’s blood from his hand.

For what reasons might we who are followers of Jesus Christ be hated today to the point of someone wanting to murder us or to destroy our lives in other ways? It could be jealousy, resentment, and/or bitterness related to God’s favor with us because our lives are committed to the Lord to following him in his ways, and because of our testimonies for Christ and for his gospel. It could be that our walks of obedience to the Lord, and to his word, is an offense to them because of their own walks of deliberate and habitual sin.

Those who are teaching and/or believing the lies of the enemy of our souls find some of us an offense to them because we are teaching the biblical gospel which requires that, by God-persuaded and God-gifted faith in Jesus Christ, we die with Christ to sin and we walk (in conduct, with purpose) in obedience to his commands in daily living, by the grace of God, in the power of God, and not of our own flesh. And if we choose not to die to sin and obey God, we are not of true faith, and we will not inherit eternal life with God.

This just doesn’t bode well with today’s modernized and altered “gospel” that is spreading like wildfire among the people of the earth. For it appears that the majority are teaching and/or believing in this altered “gospel” which teaches that we can profess faith in Jesus Christ, have all our sins forgiven, and be guaranteed heaven when we die, but regardless of how we live from that moment forward. Some people are even teaching against repentance (death to sin) and walks of obedience to God, calling that “works salvation.”

As we learn in the book of 1 John, and in other New Testament books, God looks at us with favor who have, by God-persuaded and God-gifted faith in Christ, died with Christ to sin, and who are walking in obedience to the Lord, in practice, and no longer in sin, in the power of God. But he looks with disfavor and disapproval on those who rebel against him, who go their own way, who continue in their deliberate and habitual sin, and who do not obey his commands, but while claiming Jesus as Savior and heaven as home.

And because of that, there may be those who desire to see us dead or our lives destroyed, because we are an offense to them and a reminder to them of their own sinful depravity and of their need to repent (turn from their sins) and to obey God. Or they may just want us out of their lives because we are teaching the truth which is contrary to the lies which so many of them are spreading, and so they will want us removed and out of the way so that we don’t expose their lies and lead others to the truth of the gospel.

So when this says that we are to love one another and not be like Cain, this is not speaking solely of human love based in our emotions and in our own personal preferences. This is speaking of agape love which, in this case, prefers what God prefers, and chooses his choices, and obeys them in his power. This is self-sacrificial love which puts the true needs of others above ourselves, which then results in us speaking the truth of the gospel to them, in love, and refuting the lies which will land them in hell if they believe them.

For Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

Seek the Lord

Based off Isaiah 55
An Original Work / July 20, 2012
Christ’s Free Servant, Sue J Love
Musical Instrumentation by Mark Bradley

“Come to Me all you who thirst; come to waters.
Listen to Me, and eat what’s good today,
And your soul will delight in richest of fare.
Give ear to Me, and you will live.
I have made an eternal covenant with you.
Wash in the blood of the Lamb.”

Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him.
Let the wicked forsake his way, in truth.
Let him turn to the Lord, and he will receive mercy.
Freely, God pardons him.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,”
declares the Lord, our God.

“My word that goes out of My mouth is truthful.
It will not return to Me unfulfilled.
My word will accomplish all that I desire,
And achieve the goal I intend.
You will go in joy and be led forth in peace.
The mountains will burst into song… before you,
And all of the trees clap their hands.”
