Are women different from men in the ways that they think or is it more truthful to think of any differences between people as mostly independent of sex? I am asking this in a biblical context, creation, and biblical practises may give slightly different messages. And one's interpretive framework will without doubt play a role in one's answer.

God allowed divorce because of the hardened hearts of the men/husbands. Only because of that. So the law has a SENSE OF MEANING and is not for the bad but for the good. And if time change, the law is changed by God, too! And also it is written in the scripture that the letter is killing (= the written law), that instead we should be from the spirit! Yes it is written that women should shout their mouths in the church. But also it is written in the bible that also the daughters, not only the sons, will make prophecy in the future. Times are hard. Many priests for example are loyal to the aggressors if the aggressor is a man and do not allow the abused women to divorce. This is only one example. Yes a women priest can be lead out of the right path in DETAILS but in general I believe because of the abuse of power of man, wich did NOT stop in front of the church doors, we need women as priests. Also I do not believe in a too great difference between women and men. Maybe not EVERY woman should become clergy member. But some should for sure. Also only Paul the apostel, who first was chasing the christians wrote against women. Possibly at THAT time women were not capable to become clergy or even only the specific place Paul addressed his letter to. Now is another time. Another apostle writes there is no difference between men and women.

I do not believe in a perfect book, because God existed also before the bible existed and there is no perfect church neither a perfect book. We should also be capable to think logically for our own. So tell me just your since opinion. Would you like women as priests if this is a capable woman?

Advanced physics is not kind to atheists in that too much of the way the universe works isn't random. So much is actually incompatible with randomness/chance. That is as deep into physics I will/can go, except to say that the concept of multiple universes, which I equate to multiple dimensions beyond our 4 dimensions - depth, width, height and time, is generally accepted as solid theory if not a prerequisite to any understanding of how the universe works. So far.

Given the above, God created this universe, while it is likely that He dwells in another (higher) dimension. It further seems likely that God obeys the Laws of nature He established for this dimension. Our dimension. If we are made in His likeness, then I think it would be fair that He follow those Laws, just as we must follow them.

If that is correct, then what we read as miracles are the result of physics we do not yet understand. And God, while not physical in this world, is a reality in another physical dimension. But it is a dimension of which we not yet knowledgeable.

It would explain why Scripture says that Heaven is here. "For indeed, the kingdom of God is among you” (in your midst Greek: entos) Luke 17:21 To my ears, Jesus says things with multiple meanings. In this case, I think He is being literal, but phrased to be figurative as well.

So, God is Spirit in our world and is real in His dimension to which we go when we pass. And it is why Heaven is described in concrete terms (pun intended), as things will be real in that dimension. There will be mansions and pastures, and lions laying down with lambs.

Does it bother anyone if God is not spirit in His Kingdom? I think that is what Jesus and the prophets have described. Perhaps I am just catching up.

What is the Christian position on witches and witchcraft?

Romans 12:19 says, “Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.’” But what is meant by “vengeance”? Is there a line between vengeance and self-defense, say?

What is vengeance? The Cambridge dictionary defines it as “the punishing of someone for harming you or your friends or family, or the wish for such punishment to happen...”

Cen vengeance ever be regarded as a sin? It can be, to the extent that acts of evil are sins. In the Bible, God designates what is good and what is evil from out standpoint. There is no in-between. In some cases, which may seem grayish, it is necessary to dig down to the smallest granule to determine if something is good or evil.

Consider 1 Thessalonians 5:15 which says, “See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always use to do good to one another and to everyone.” Well, seems that at first glance, Romans 12:19 puts it into God’s hands to commit evil for evil, but that’s impossible when you consider that anything God does is for good. Looking at Romans 12:19 a certain way, sems that the same act that a person does which may be considered evil would be considered good if God does it, since nothing God does is evil. God killed everyone in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah for the evil acts that were done in those cities. There is no word in the Bible that God spared the lives of the young, so we might presume that the young, presumed innocent, were not spared the fate that the adults underwent. It may be said that the killing of people in those two cities was God’s form of capital punishment for the evil they did.

Some may ask if vengeance is the Lord’s, then who is the governing authority to exact vengeance via capital punishment? Well, consider Romans 13:1-4 which says, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For HE IS THE SERVANT OF GOD, AN AVENGER who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.”

So, a governing authority that exists as an extension of the Lord, has been given the power to act as God would act. And if it’s determined that God would avenge the death of someone via capital punishment, then the governing authority who acts on behalf of God could be expected to do likewise.

Same as in matters of war. Take the recent instance of Hamas going into Israel and killing over a thousand innocent people. The Israeli government, who may be seen as a governing authority on behalf of God since under God, governments are set up to act on His behalf, decided that the best course of action is to kill those who are members of Hamas. One can infer that the Israeli government was doing its work, exacting vengeance on Hamas in God’s name. Similarly, in any acts of war in which a nation is attacked, it is a moot point as to whether a nation that was attacked is committing evil by returning the attack. That’s because as anything that God does is considered good, including that which may be evil in the hands of an individual, is also considered good if the act is done by a government that rules in God’s name. In that respect, what may be considered as pure vengeance in the hands of an individual would be a act of justice in the hands of a government under God.

Consider Russia’s initial attack on Ukraine. Would anyone criticize the Ukrainian government for fighting back, and killing Russians in the process? One may say that like the Israeli government, the Ukrainian government had the authority of God in attacking the Russians in return for their being attacked. Even if one might consider it an act of vengeance, when the government is involved it is off the table as to whether such vengeance is evil; as anything that God does is good, so anything that is done by a government on God’s behalf is good as well.

Another example of Republican-led states trying to avoid the will of the people on the topic of abortion. This likely won't be successful, because the ballot initiative has thousands of signatures over the required number to qualify for the ballot. And despite claims that South Dakotans were 'deceived' by the nature of the initiative, it seems doubtful that thousands of people will withdraw their signatures. The new law clearly targets the current initiative in that it took effect immediately upon the governor's signature. This is a last ditch effort to stop this from reaching the voters.

I was thinking about how life really forms, you need a stable enviroment and warm water and plants for food, but why does it form? I think it starts with a will, my first thought was that this will have to learn how to take protein from plants, and build a body to move around it. But does it really have to learn? All matter is energy, if you break it down, you can set fire on anything because all matter is energy, but if everything consists of this energy, is that life itself, the will? I think we have found the God-particle, it`s energy, it doesn`t have to learn to make a body, it`s already all-knowing, it can take particles from plants, and use the protein to build a body, without learning how to to so. Scientists wants to know how life forms at the beginning, and control it, but since it starts with a will, it`s not possible. It`s like you want to control all energy around you.

Yes, the main problem with consciousness, is that how can it really be alive? Why aren`t it just adaptations to the enviroment, so it learns to move around, but it`s not really alive, and seeing? I feel alive, I don`t feel like a robot, sort of, I have a feeling of "self" also. So, in my opinion, energy itself is living, it`s the will that builds a body, otherwise I be dead, just moving around. If you weren`t really living, the mind has to trick you in order to make you believe you`re really living, but we know also that making children for example, isn`t for reproducing, it`s for the joy it brings, it`d be a paradox if you did it to survive.

But, if energy makes your mind from it`s own image, are you really seperate from it? I think you are, you have a free will, a soul, you evolve on your own, and you do what you want, but you`re always the child of this god, the children of your father of creation. I think we all know it also, because people in society usually avoids looking at energy directly, like with many other things, so they don`t seem cynical. You know how you have for example, bones in your body? But they`re seperate from the rest of the body, how did the body make the bone, and then seperate it, so it`s not connected to the body anymore? I think it`s the same thing with your mind, it starts in the same way, but it separates, and then lives on it`s own.

So she refuses to consider some of Trumps arguments for appeal before the trial where at this point the govt. could then respond. But she says he raises some valid points (not valid enough to consider at this point).

So just go through the trial and during trial they could raise those appeals again and the case would be dropped without the government being able to respond.

This has been said on the left a bunch and this seems a bit hyperbolic coming from our side for sure. But from Trump it sounds like nonsense. you'll have e elections but Republicans won't do well because your party has become too vindictive under trump and not soing anything to improve the lives of Americans other than giving tax cuts and that's it.

Now, to be fair, Trumps cognitive decline has his speech and ideas sounding like a word salad. The bloodbath comment came on the heels of talking about a tariff on Chinese made cars..and then was immediately followed by this election comment, according to the article I shared.

My question is only this:
The verses seem to say that the law will still be the law until "heaven and earth pass" and "till all be fulfilled"

'all be fulfilled' can be construed to mean Jesus dying on the cross... But... 'heaven and earth' certainly hasn't passed... so I'm confused.

Does all of Mosaic law still stand or not?

Do you have faith because God has answered your prayers? What keeps it going because we all know he doesn't answer most.

I believe this passage of Scripture somewhat parallels what Paul wrote in Romans 11 with regard to God cutting off the natural branches (the Jews) who did not believe in Jesus Christ, because of their unbelief. There the message is that they can be grafted in again by faith in Jesus Christ. But he also warned the Gentile Christians against being prideful because God had grafted them in. So he let them know that they had to continue in the grace (kindness) of God, or else they could be cut off, too (Romans 11:1-36).

The warning there and here is for us to not take God’s grace for granted. All throughout the New Testament writings, we who profess faith in Jesus Christ are warned against taking God’s grace for granted and assuming that God is going to let us into his heaven despite how we live on this earth. For we are told that if we claim that we are in fellowship with God but while we walk in sin, we are liars. And if we claim to know God but we do not obey his commands, in practice, then we are liars (1 John 1:5-10; 1 John 2:3-6).

So many people today are teaching that we can make a once-in-a-lifetime decision to “believe” in Jesus Christ, and that all our sins are now forgiven (past, present, and future), and that heaven is secured for us, and that nothing can take that away from us, but regardless of how we live, or with no requirements at all for the forsaking of our sins and walks of obedience to our Lord in holy living. But the Bible says we must die to sin, in practice, and walk in obedience to our Lord, or we will not inherit eternal life with God.

And that is basically what John 15:1-17 is all about. If we do not bear fruit (outgrowth, results) in keeping with repentance and according to the teachings of the Scriptures which are for us who profess faith in our Lord, we can be cut off from the Lord. And the only way in which we will bear this fruit is if we are abiding in Jesus Christ, who is the vine. And to abide in him means to remain in him, steadfast in our walks of faith and obedience to him and to his commands, no longer to live as slaves to sin, but to God.

For to abide in Christ is to continue with him, but not just in status, and not just in profession, and not in lip service only, but in word and in deed. For to remain and to abide and to continue in him is to participate with him in his work of grace in our lives by obeying him and his commandments, in his power and strength, by the grace of God. And it involves us adhering to, complying with, keeping to, conforming to, and upholding the truth of his gospel which requires death to sin and walks of obedience to our Lord.

Now this is not claiming that we will be absolutely perfect in every way or that we will never sin again or that we will not fail at some point and time to be all who God wants us to be (see 1 John 2:1-2). But we must pay close attention to what Jesus taught and what his NT apostles taught, for they taught that if we continue to walk in sin, making sin our practice, and if righteousness and obedience to our Lord are not what we practice, that we will not inherit eternal life with God, regardless of what our lips profess.

And this is one of the reasons that our Lord prunes (disciplines, chastises) us in our walks of faith so that we might continue in him, steadfast in faith, and that we might continue to bear fruit (results, outgrowth) consistent with the teachings in the New Testament given to the church for our instruction, encouragement, exhortation, and urgings in holiness and in righteousness. For when we suffer, we might learn obedience, like Jesus did. And it humbles us and keeps us close to the Lord if we respond as we ought.

So, don’t take God’s grace for granted. Don’t assume that he is going to let you into his heaven just because you profess him as Lord and Savior of your life. For Jesus said that not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING the will of God the Father. For he said that if anyone would come after him, he must deny self, take up his cross daily (die daily to sin and to self) and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives. But if for Jesus’ sake we die to sin and live to his righteousness, then we have eternal life.

I am in need of prayer for my husband, he has been dealing with depression and fear. We have our own family business and he has been inactive in the business. He’s been dealing with a lot of negative energy in his system that won’t go away, like depression, fear and death. He’s having trouble eating and sleeping, and he doesn’t have any energy to do anything. I need prayer for protection, peace, and to remove the spirits of fear, depression and death from his body, mind spirit and soul. We, who are believing in Jesus Christ as Lord (Owner-Master) and Savior of our lives, are blessed of God with his grace and salvation and deliverance from slavery (addiction) to sin, and with the promise and hope of eternal life with God for all who love and obey him and who are no longer walking in sin. Our God loves and cares for us, and he watches over us, and he leads us in the right way, and he strengthens and helps us to walk in that way, too.

But we are still human beings living in flesh bodies which are vulnerable to sickness, injuries, heartaches, disappointments, trials, tribulations, persecutions, and the attacks of our enemy Satan. And one of the big ways in which Satan likes to come after us is with his lies and with doubts and fears which he tries to plant in our minds and in our hearts. But even if what he is saying to us is truth, we are not to let his attacks disturb and upset us.

For nothing can happen to us (outside of our control) that God is not aware, and that he does not allow for a purpose. For he is completely sovereign over our lives, and so the enemy cannot touch us outside of God’s control (example: the story of Job). But we must learn to recognize the enemy’s schemes against us, and we must be armored up with the spiritual armor which God supplies to fight off the enemy’s attacks (Ephesians 6:10-20).

Therefore, if the enemy attempts to plant certain thoughts in our minds which are troublesome and which might encourage us to be afraid, even if what he is whispering in our minds is true, still God is in control! So we are not to fear any evil which might be lurking around the corner just waiting to come against us. For if we are with God, and if we are following Jesus with our lives in obedience to him, he is with us, and he will see us through it.

So we face each day and each moment with the courage that comes from God, knowing that he is in control. We put our lives in his hands, and we trust that he is going to bring us through every circumstance, no matter how big or how small, or how hard or how easy. We just need to remain yielded to him always as clay in the hands of the Potter, allowing our Lord to shape us into the people of God that he wants us to be for his purposes.

Even if our enemy appears to be gaining ground against us, and even if it may appear that he is winning, he never will win, especially not in the end. For none of us wins by opposing God and by coming against his servants and witnesses who are doing the will of God. If we oppose the Lord it will eventually backfire on us, and we will lose in the end, and his servants and his messengers who obey him will be the conquerors.

So, those of us who surrender our lives to Jesus Christ, and who walk in his ways and in his truth, and who trust him with our lives, and who submit to his will and purposes for our lives, in his power and strength, are the winners no matter what we have to go through on this earth. Surely goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives, and we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Heaven will be our eternal home.

Repent, or else! That's not what people normally say, but it's often the sense I get from hearing 'you must repent.'

Before I start this thread, a quick question to those who believe we are to repent of our sins either for salvation or in a maintaining of salvation.... Are we to repent of the sins Jesus forgave and God no longer see's or are we repenting of the sins Jesus didn't forgive? I'm confused.

Whenever the subject of repentance comes up, there seems to be a variety of ideas as to what this actually means. I know in my personal life a colleague of mine holds strongly to the idea that to repent is to first recognize your sin (and it's never sin as a whole but usually a specific sin at that moment), then to confess the sin to God before asking to be forgiven that sin. I've heard it described as a change of mind, a change of heart, or a change of action. Some say it's to go from unbelief to belief and others say it's to never sin again. Well, to add to all the confusion I'm going to throw in my two cents.

The subject of repentance has been something I've had to think a lot on lately. As I said, a colleague of mine holds the act of repentance to a very high degree, so it's been on my mind a lot. As well as wanting to have a better grasp of it. Recently, I decided that instead of going to the bible and looking at all the versus that tell us to repent, because we all seem to interpret these differently, I would look at all the versus I could find where God repents. Because, who better than God to set the example, right? In doing so three things started to stand out to me in regards to repenting.

The first thing that became clear was in each instant God either had change of mind or he didn't. He either didn't do what he first said he was going to do or he carried through with what he said he was going to do regardless of the pleas of his prophet.

The second thing that stood out to me was whatever God's decision was, that was it. He never repented a second time over the same situation.

And the third thing that tickled my brain cells was when he repented, it was in place of doing the act, not after doing the act, like my colleague is so fond of preaching.

So, basically it's a change of mind that remains firm, and you do this instead of doing whatever the act is you're repenting of. Sounds simple enough. Except, there's something else that came to mind while trying to wrap my head around this. There are two relationships that are talked about in the bible. Our relationship with God and our relationship with our neighbour. And every time I've ever heard repentance being talked about, it was always in reference to our relationship with God, and nothing about our neighbour. This is important because repentance works differently between the two.

In our relationship with God, sin was dealt with by Jesus. He paid the penalty on our behalf, and in doing so cleansed us all in the sight of God. Meaning, God no longer see's our sin. Because he no longer see's our sin, there remains no sin to repent of but one. That sin is our unbelief, Matt 12:31, John 16:8-9. So, the only thing left to repent of is our unbelief with regards to our relationship with God. Which, in practical terms, is going from an unbeliever to a believer. That's it, that's all. We do this only once. To have to do this more than once means you didn't do it in the first place. And, if you're worried you didn't do it in the first place, rest assured, the fact you're worried about it is a good indication you did. Adding any more to this act of repentance is simply moving backwards. Now, I recognize there are versus that appear to suggest otherwise. But, something I've learned over the years is that if a verse seems to contradict what I know to be an underlying truth, then I realize I'm not understanding the verse in the manner the writer intended it to be.

As for our relationship with our neighbour, repentance is likely going to be a daily event. That said, it isn't in the manner my colleague believes. Instead, it's choosing to do differently than what may initially be a sinful act. For example, a driver on the highway decides not to signal and cuts me off. My initial reaction is probably going to be me showing him, in some unpleasant manner, how that made me feel. In this case, me choosing not to do so is me repenting. And I remain firm in my decision. I don't change my mind a moment later and carry through with my initial reaction. That is not repenting. Now, should the exact same scenario happen again a day later, but with someone different, and I have to repent again of the same thing, that's different. It's a different day and a different situation regardless of how similar they may be. And, I would still need to remain firm in my repentance in this situation as well.

Sometimes the strength to repent just isn't in us. It's here that we want to lean on God for his strength. It never disappoints God for us to do this, instead it pleases God. Should you fail and give in to temptation, it happens. This is the real world and you're only human. But suck it up, be an adult, and get on with your life. It never caught God off guard, just you. How about instead of confessing it to God and asking him for forgiveness ("But it makes me feel better." I'm sorry, but what do your feelings have to do with any of it?), you offer up a sacrifice for your sin. Since it seems Jesus's sacrifice wasn't enough for you.

Last March, Biden administration Education Secretary Miguel Cardona attempted to reverse conservative gains on education with an op-ed published in Florida’s second-largest newspaper. “Parents don’t want politicians dictating what their children can learn, think and believe,” he protested. “Parents also are speaking out about their worries that politicians are using our kids’ education as a political football.” The whole thrust of Cardona’s argument, on behalf of the educational elite, was to reframe recent education controversies from “parents versus left-wing teachers” to “parents versus right-wing politicians.”

When Cardona’s op-ed was published, there were already examples contradicting his attempted reframing of the narrative, with more rank odors of the Left’s sour fruit wafting into the open all the time.

Two recent incidents come from Missouri, where ideologically captured school boards shut parents out of decisions regarding sexuality, on which the parents had a statutory right to give input. Now, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey (R) has taken up the parents’ cause against the school districts. “The school board has got to respect the parents’ rights to determine these sorts of policy decisions,” Bailey argued on “Washington Watch,” and ultimately have a voice in that process.”

“Webster Groves [School District] showed students a video presentation that discussed gender identity and sexual orientation,” according to information obtained by Bailey’s office, “and instructed students to follow a link to a third-party website affiliated with Planned Parenthood containing information on human sexuality topics including abortion, gender identity, and sexual orientation.” Bailey explained that the website included materials which “promoted casual hookups for teens, promoted research into abortion, and LGBTQ issues.”
“These are direct affronts to our statute,” argued Bailey. “There are very strict guidelines built into Missouri statute that govern what can and cannot be taught, when it comes to human sexuality. And one of the provisions in the statute is a parental opt-in or opt-out procedure.” Thus, he said, “schools have to abide by the curriculum standards, … have to present that curriculum to the parents, … and the parents get to decide which curriculum is appropriate for their children.”
