An official with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) told an undercover journalist that members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) were in attendance at the protests at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, and also highlighted methods that intelligence agencies use to disempower political opponents.

FBI Director Christopher Wray previously stated in a Congressional hearing concerning January 6th that he was “not sure there were undercover agents on scene,” doubling down in an answer to Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) and saying. “I do not believe that there were undercover agents on scene.”

Need Deliverance from Witchcraft people

Hi everyone, I would greatly appreciate your prayers. Lately I have been hearing voices in my head saying things like "Hey Davey" and "I am a witch" and "I have power" and "I am a God", I think this is a witchcraft person talking to me, apparently they are able to do this. God has shown me there are witchcraft people in town and they are targeting me, God has shown me ways of dealing with them, I have been doing spiritual warfare over them, breaking the power of their witchcraft in the name of Jesus, rebuking witchcraft, commanding the witchcraft to stop in the name of Jesus, and commanding all witchcraft to be returned to sender in the name of Jesus. This has helped alot but I still need deliverance from their witchcraft. Please pray that all of this stops! Thank you!

I’ve Been at NPR for 25 Years. Here’s How We Lost America’s Trust.

Like many unfortunate things, the rise of advocacy took off with Donald Trump. As in many newsrooms, his election in 2016 was greeted at NPR with a mixture of disbelief, anger, and despair. (Just to note, I eagerly voted against Trump twice but felt we were obliged to cover him fairly.) But what began as tough, straightforward coverage of a belligerent, truth-impaired president veered toward efforts to damage or topple Trump’s presidency.
The coverage of Trump is certainly out of control.

Lame Deer Montana Pastor Sentenced to 30 years For Child Sex Abuse on Native Reservation

The U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich shared his thoughts on this verdict:

Pastor Smith’s prison sentence, while significant, does not come close to the lifetime of trauma his victims will have to endure. But I hope knowing that Smith will likely spend the rest of his life in federal prison gives them some peace of mind that he won’t be able to abuse others. Far too often, and unacceptably so, we are unable to obtain justice for children sexually abused in Indian Country. But justice was achieved here, and it would not have occurred without the bravery of our victims or the tenacity of our federal partners and prosecutors, for which I am grateful.

Smith was the pastor of a local church in Lame Deer, Montana, on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. During his time on the reservation, he and his wife hosted other children from the community. In around 2021 and 2022, four girls, identified as Jane Does 1, 2, 3, and 4, disclosed being sexually abused by Smith between 2017 and 2020 when they were staying or living at Smith's home.

[The victims were under 12.]

Prodigal Pig Pork Swine

I did some volunteer work today and part of it was separating swine meat from bones and fat. I did not eat the stuff, but I noted as I worked over it that it had a horrible smell. While people were saying it smelled delicious, I was trying not to breath the odor.

I thought of how the prodigal son must have felt working with swine directly. In my case I didn't do it because I'd gone prodigal, but because I volunteered to help out an elderly lady clean and cook for a bunch of people

I tried not to get the grease on me, but it happened twice, and even that felt gross. It looked gross, all of it. I immediately washed.

I know some people might not even touch it, but in this case I was doing work for someone else that I said I'd do. My policy is just do not consume it. Pork swine is truly a nasty thing.
I'm thankful about my commitment a few years ago not to eat it at all. I used to eat it on occasion, and it amazes me how many Christians will eat the cooked sow.

How is Dignitas Infinita's teaching on the death penalty not a contradiction of previous doctrine?

The recently published declaration, Dignitas Infinita, says this about the death penalty:
In addressing some of the many grave violations of human dignity today, we can draw upon the teachings of the Second Vatican Council, which emphasized that “all offenses against life itself, such as murder, genocide, abortion, euthanasia, and willful suicide” must be recognized as contrary to human dignity. Furthermore, the Council affirmed that “all violations of the integrity of the human person, such as mutilation, physical and mental torture, undue psychological pressures,” also infringe upon our dignity. Finally, it denounced “all offenses against human dignity, such as subhuman living conditions, arbitrary imprisonment, deportation, slavery, prostitution, the selling of women and children, degrading working conditions where individuals are treated as mere tools for profit rather than free and responsible persons.” Here, one should also mention the death penalty, for this also violates the inalienable dignity of every person, regardless of the circumstances. In this regard, we must recognize that “the firm rejection of the death penalty shows to what extent it is possible to recognize the inalienable dignity of every human being and to accept that he or she has a place in this universe. If I do not deny that dignity to the worst of criminals, I will not deny it to anyone. I will give everyone the possibility of sharing this planet with me, despite all our differences.”
This statement that the death penalty violates human dignity "regardless of circumstances" seems to be saying that the death penalty is intrinsically immoral. The only way I can see this not being the case is if it's not necessarily sinful to violate human dignity, which seems to run counter to the intention of the document and Pope Francis's own beliefs given his statement a few months ago that the death penalty is "a sin." It would also undercut the strength of the document's condemnation of gender theory, surrogacy, abortion, etc., which are all based on how these things violate human dignity.

The wording of the document also removes the foundation for some of the earlier harmonizations of the change to the Catechism with prior doctrine, in that one of the defenses of the change (see for example Understanding the Catechism Revision on the Death Penalty) was that the death penalty might be rejected on the basis of current circumstances rather than being intrinsically immoral. But if it is a violation of human dignity "regardless of circumstances," then it can't also be a violation because of current circumstances.

How can this new statement on the death penalty be consistent with existing doctrine?

Purpose and significance of baptism

So I made the pastor uncomfortable when I said the theif on the cross didn't get baptised. It was clear he didn't have a clear meaning of baptism and even talked about churches doing rebabtism.

So I am curious to what answers I will get here. I think for starters it is worth noting that the theif on the cross was literally dying with Jesus. So thus a symbolical gesture of it was definitely not needed for him.

I also think it is worth noting that Jesus did not say baptism is a means to salvation. There will be many on that day, baptised and even professing Jesus as Lord, who will not enter the Kingdom.

If you think that the sons of God in Gen 6:2 were angels and wish to wager on it,

I am taking wagers here. This OP is NOT about whether the sons of God in Gen 6:2 were angels. I'm assuming you think they were. This post focuses on wagering on what you believe. If you wish to discuss Gen 6:2, see The SONS of God came in to the daughters of man.

Let proposition P1 = The sons of God in Gen 6:2 were angels having sexual intercourse with human females.

P2 = The sons of God in Gen 6:2 were not angelic beings.

Between 0 and 10, how much weight do you put on each of the above propositions? The stronger your belief in a proposition, the higher the weight. Your weighting scheme will determine the betting odds.

This is not a lotto or gambling bet. It is a wager to mathematically and scientifically measure the strength of your belief. Put money where your mouth is. If you are interested in mathematically finding out the strength of your belief, then tell me those two weights. See Subjective (Bayesian) Probability.

You can say that the earth is flat, it does not mean much until you are willing to bet on it.

Trump says he wouldn’t sign federal abortion ban if Congress passed one

Trump says he wouldn’t sign federal abortion ban

“Would you sign a national abortion ban if Congress sent it to your desk?” Trump was asked by a reporter in Atlanta on Wednesday.

“No,” Trump said, shaking his head.

“You wouldn’t sign it?” the reporter asked.

“No,” Trump said again.

It’s Trump’s firmest response to date on a national abortion ban.

Just a few days ago, Trump said it should be left to the states.

Antigovernment Virginia Militia turns to independent journalist to notify public that former member is potentially dangerous

Virginia militia member raised suspicion, then alarm with talk of bombs

A militia group’s rare public warning about a former member shows how concerns around Justice Department prosecutions is changing extremist organizing

Even before he started talking about assassinations and homemade bombs a couple of months ago, “Duke” had weirded out his fellow members in an anti-government militia group.
He belonged to the Virginia Kekoas, a cluster of armed “preppers” in the Norfolk area.

['Duke's' real name is Russell Vane IV]

Vane, 42, was a former Marine reservist with an intelligence background whose loose talk about explosives and Russian government connections unnerved his fellow militia members. The Kekoas kicked him out in early March, suspecting he was either a government informant trying to set them up or an unstable militant heading for trouble — either way, a dangerous liability.

But the decision posed a conundrum: How does a group that doesn’t trust the government warn authorities about a potential threat?

They turned to the independent journalist Ford Fischer, whose News2Share outlet is known for coverage of activist and militant movements. Fischer, who posted a 34-minute YouTube video and long thread on X detailing the Kekoas’ removal of Vane, told The Washington Post that such a public warning was “unprecedented” in his seven years of chronicling the shadowy militia world.

Like many other armed factions on the right, the Virginia Kekoas transformed after the Capitol attack to avoid law enforcement scrutiny. They broke from the “boogaloo” movement that promotes violent revolution and rebranded to focus on Second Amendment activism and doomsday prepping.

--

[After Vane joined, he talked too much about explosives and pulled a knife on an unruly drug addict they encountered after a night of drinking.]

“We put him on a 60-day probationary period, but before we could even really tell him that, he screwed up a third time,” Beckner said.

The private setting [during a land navigation exercise], Ray said, was ideal for a tough talk about the group’s suspicions.

“At which point he brings up Russia,” Ray said. “He said, ‘What if I could put you in touch with a Russian dignitary at a Russian embassy that would be willing to pay up to $50,000 a month to unify all militias in Virginia?’”

“I looked at him and said, ‘You’re [doggone] crazy,’” Ray said.

[Later.] “Out of the blue, he looked at the leader of the other group and said, ‘Do y’all have a plan if the president gets assassinated?’” Ray recalled.

...in the morning Vane had handed him a file marked, “Confidential.” He opened it and found Defense Intelligence Agency reports related to homemade explosives precursors.

The Kekoas went into damage-control mode, severing all ties with Vane and removing him from chat groups. Then they made the unusual decision of going public via Fischer, whom they knew and trusted.

Looking for a scripture based discussion on the Rapture

I have been a member for a while but mainly for reading other's views, so when it comes to posting, bottom line is, I'm new. I'm looking to have a discussion on the rapture in the "Discussion and Debate" forum (which is were I think I am posting this). I think that is the best place to start?? When the Rapture takes place depends on who you're listening to or who's material you are reading so please understand, I'm not looking for an argument and will not participate in one, nor allow anyone to troll my post into an argument. Nor am I looking to change your belief. Regardless of when you believe it will take place I simply want to talk scriptures, to come to my own conclusion. Also being a new poster, I know there are veterans posters on here and if there is some insight that you see I need for posting I'm open. God bless

Peter Higgs, physicist who proposed Higgs boson, dies aged 94

Peter Higgs, the Nobel prize-winning physicist who proposed a new particle known as the Higgs boson, has died.
Higgs, 94, who was awarded the Nobel prize for physics in 2013 for his work in 1964 showing how the boson helped bind the universe together by giving particles their mass, died at home in Edinburgh on Monday.
After a series of experiments, which began in earnest in 2008, his theory was proven by physicists working at the Large Hadron Collider at Cern in Switzerland in 2012; the Nobel prize was shared with François Englert, a Belgian theoretical physicist whose work in 1964 also contributed directly to the discovery.

Florida Woman Fired Weapon multiple times during Eclipse

Hello folks. On April 7th, I was thinking to myself about the solar eclipse for the next day. While thinking that, I had a premonition that something bad in the news would happen. Not because of the eclipse itself (eclipses are perfectly safe), but that someone would fire a weapon on a group of individuals either due to the rampant misinformation about this once in a few years natural event where the moon passes between the sun and the earth, or due to other issues. So, on April 9th, after viewing the eclipse the day prior with solar glasses, I skimmed over the news. My prediction was true. A woman in Florida fired several rounds of bullets at cars when she was driving, stating "God told her so". In reality, God never told her anything, as God in the New Testament is a loving God who does not condone violence.

Man, this stuff grinds my gears. Why do Christians have to use God as an excuse to commit violent crimes? I am grateful that no one died in this incident, but this makes me sad at the state of our world. It is high time that the US bans assault rifles. Australia banned them in the 1990s. Germany also has strict rules about gun ownership in general. It feels like we in the USA live in a country between third world and first world.

Some Christians are ignoring the pacifist message of Ephesians 4:31-32: "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." Also, this woman ignored this verse in Matthew 26:52: "Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword."

Deranged FL. Woman shoots at cars during eclipse: Suspect in Florida highway shooting says God sent her because of eclipse

Article summary:

The article, written by AP and The Guardian staff, reports on a shooting incident that occurred in Florida on April 8, 2024. A woman named Taylon Nichelle Celestine, 22, from Georgia, allegedly went on a shooting spree after checking out of a hotel and stated that she was following God's instructions due to the North American solar eclipse.

The incident began when Celestine entered Interstate 10 in Bonifay, Florida, which is about 115 miles (180 km) from the Alabama border in the Florida panhandle region. Within five miles (8 km), she fired several shots into a passing car, shattering windows and wounding the driver in the arm. She then fired at a second vehicle, striking the driver in the neck. The injured drivers were both taken to hospitals for treatment.

After traveling about 16 miles (26 km), Celestine was stopped by the Florida highway patrol, who found her in possession of an AR-15 rifle and a 9mm handgun. She was arrested and charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and improper discharge of a firearm. The article does not provide information about Celestine's bail or legal representation.

The shooting incident has brought renewed attention to the ease with which Americans can acquire firearms and potentially use them to harm others at random. The article notes that many activists have called on federal lawmakers to enact more substantial firearms restrictions in response to such incidents. However, few such measures have been adopted.

Wheat & Tares, Good Fish and Bad Fish

Matthew 13:24-30,
"Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn."

Jesus tells the multitudes of people this parable, then He explains it to His disciples:
"He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear." (Matthew 13:37-43)

We see that both are growing together, and we see this presently in this world. Wickedness like a weed is even overtaking goodness. Not that it can defeat goodness, but it is saturating every segment of society. Our world is so much LOOSER than it was even 30 years ago, and 300 years ago was so much LOOSER than say, the 1950s and so on. The Bible predicted "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." (2 Timothy 3:13)

We see the same principle at work in the parable of the net, which is pretty self explanatory:
Matthew 13:47-50,
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

Now let's focus on 2 things here:

1) In the parable of the wheat and tares the angels are commanded in regard to the tares, or weeds, to "bind them."

2) In the parable of the net the angels are to "sever the wicked from among the just."

The whisked shall be BOUND in that, they are wicked and unrepentant: therefore the only recourse is to bind them to be handed over to Gods righteous judgment. This will also include vast multitudes of professing Christian church members who have never been born again, or have in the "latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron" (1 Timothy 4:1-2)

They shall be SEVERED from among the just. Christ shall return to take the elect, and there shall be a severing, as well as a binding: "Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." (Matthew 24:40-42)

We see an ominous admonition at the end of Revelation - "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still." (Revelation 22:11)

Oh people, I would admonish you this day to not let it reach that point in the history of this world without making sure your salvation and your soul right with God. That means repentance from any and all sin. No more justifying of sin, whether it's a moral sin in regards to sexuality, or something like telling lies, or drunkenness, or filthy communication from your mouths. I have seen such a disgusting example set forth by so many who will tell me they are saved, they supposedly know Christ, but in works they deny Him, and they take His Holy name in vain by living contrary to the blessed Gospel, and they bear bitter, and rotten, and sour fruit: for Jesus said, "By their fruits ye shall know them!" (Matthew 7:20)

There needs to be some serious trembling and healthy fear of Almighty God in the land, and in the churches! The old thunder, and the fire, and the Holy storm needs to be unleashed from the pulpit, that perhaps people at ease in Zion: that is, comfortable in their pet version of Christianity, be awakened, and seek and turn to Jesus with all their hearts.
And in society, people need brought in to the Masters house, and sit at His table, and feast on His Word. Let it be as in days of old when saloons closed, and gambling halls ceased to operate because people were converted and there were no more customers for these dens of iniquity!

Revelation 14:14-20,
"And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.

And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.
And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.

And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs."

This is NOT an ALLEGORY, nor something to be spiritualized away as some inner work, with no ramifications in the physical world. Christ will return as assuredly as He said He would, and He shall send those angels, and the wicked shall be BOUND, and SEVERED from among the just, and where they go is into the winepress of the wrath of God, which in Revelation 19:15 Jesus Himself in all His power and majesty, "treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God." Not only the wrath, but the fierceness and wrath: a double whammy you do not want any part of!
You want to be wheat, not weeds. You want to be Salmon, not Eel.*
* Eel are considered unclean in Scripture, and their blood is toxic. An Eel would have been one of the fish that were cast away.

Romans 11:22, "Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off"
And there's the perseverance of the saints right there. Be sure you are in Him, growing in grace, and being in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting the coming of the day of God.... (2 Peter 3:11-22)

Eclipse Takeaways

Enjoyed what appeared as a 75% eclipse Monday. But, not surprised at the E-mania. Maybe you saw as well upon "totality", people in the path epicenters roaring with thunderous applause and hugging one another. On our street, a golf cart load of young people waved at us as though we all can participate in God's favor in what He has given. As though, we didn't have something to be joyous about till now.

I have repented of all of my sins to God, but my neighbors are HAVING A WAR!!!!

So, I have truly repented of all of my sins, including the lack of love and gentleness I showed on others and forcing them to follow the Bible. I also repented of homosexual lust and other things.

1. Now, this family moved across my house and started renting. The grown-ups are inconsiderate, lazy and very noisy and even allow their children to shout and be noisy and play with noise, even on the streets.

So I've started playing this recording of real angels singing, the 1987 occurrence. I also started playing the Gospel (receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior). I also started doing this spiritual warfare prayer for the evil spirits to leave them, and for God's love to pour on them, and for them to be saved from the fires of hell.

2. For weeks, they get agitated whenever I play these loudly. They started throwing tantrums. (These neighbors are so used to loud noise, so it's not because my playing is loud). One of their children playing ball said, "What is going on?" as I constantly play and play the angels' recording and the Gospel.

They have also started calling me "[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]-g-o-t!!".

Take note, I am not doing anything against them. I don't raise my voice to their noise or anything, not even bang my door.

In all humility, may I kindly ask for your advice? All your thoughts would be deeply appreciated, thank you very much!

Orthodox Jew stopping by temporarily

I've been aware of this forum for quite a while because my Christian sister in law uses it. I held off on joining for numerous reasons but now I have decided to stop by and post some rambling.

I just spent a couple of years on several Christian forums, mostly American Evangelicals, and have come away with all kinds of new insights and opinions. Most of them are negative, but educational none the less. I'm working on an essay about my experience with these groups that I may have published and thought I would share my thoughts here over a series of posts to see what people think. Because this forum is pretty diverse I am hoping to get some diverse opinions as well.

About me:

I'm an Orthodox Jew
I'm a widow (yes at 27 years old)
I was born in Israel, raised in Ireland
I work as a multimedia editor
I was once a professional model
I was married to a Christian husband (I don't recommend interfaith marriages)

Logical analysis of John 3:36

John 3:

36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life;
In terms of First-Order Logic, if a person believes in the Son, he has eternal life.

whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
If he does not obey the Son, he does not have eternal life.

By contrapositive, If he has eternal life, he obeys the Son.

A person believes in the Son → he has eternal life →he obeys the Son.

By transitivity, therefore, if he believes in the Son, he obeys Him.

Also, if he does not obey the Son, he does not believe in Him.

And, if he does not obey the Son, he does not have eternal life.
