  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Harris to Call for Construction of 3 Million New Homes, $25K Down Payment Support for 1st Time Homeowners

Vice President Harris is set to announce a plan to lower housing costs and end the housing shortage through the construction of new units and down payment support to first-time homebuyers, according to Harris-Walz campaign officials.

Harris’s “urgent and comprehensive four-year plan” will call for constructing 3 million new housing units, a tax incentive for homebuilders to construct “starter homes” to sell to first-time homebuyers and a $40 billion innovation fund for local governments to build housing.

The plan would also include $25,000 in down payment support for first-time homeowners.

A teen was falling asleep during a courtroom field trip. She ended up in cuffs and jail clothes

DETROIT (AP) — A teenager on a field trip to see a Detroit court ended up in jail clothes and handcuffs because a judge said he didn’t like her attitude.
Judge Kenneth King even asked other kids in the courtroom Tuesday whether the 16-year-old girl should be taken to juvenile detention, WXYZ-TV reported.
King, who works at 36th District Court, defended his actions.
“I wanted this to look and feel very real to her, even though there’s probably no real chance of me putting her in jail. That was my own version of ‘Scared Straight,’” King said, referring to a documentary about teen offenders in New Jersey.
The teen was seeing King’s court as part of a visit organized by The Greening of Detroit, a nonprofit environmental group. During the visit, King noticed the girl falling asleep, WXYZ reported.
“You fall asleep in my courtroom one more time, I’m gonna put you in back, understood?” the judge said, according to video of his remarks.

What to do

I am seeing a show in a couple weeks and one of my family members purchased the tickets for me. I know I should have researched the show before hand but the tickets were bought in a rush and I did not have time to do some research. Some people that I know have seen the show before that are christian and had no issues with it. I was researching more about it and saw some unbiblical themes like the repeated use of profanity. Im not sure what to do. If God is telling me not go to this I do not want to but I cant afford to pay the person back for the ticket they got me. What should I do in this situation?

The Efficaciousness of the Word verse listing.

Note: This listing of verses as taken me a few years to gather. When I find an appropriate verse I just add it to the listing.

God's holy inspired Word has several characteristics that guarantee powerful results. First, it is infused with the power of the Holy Spirit. Second, God's word is truth. It awakens our conscience. With the power to reach into the private corners of our hearts, the Word bares our motives and secret feelings and reveals our hidden longings. Third, God's Word discerns our true character. It exposes the weakness in our attitudes and conduct, enabling us to correct ourselves by the power of His Holy Spirit.

(1) The Word is always powerful to save in itself;

(2) The Spirit is always at work through the Word; it is perpetual union. There is no Spiritless Word.

The Spirit through the Word as his instrument is the efficient cause our conversion and of all spiritual activity in man. The Spirit is the power behind the proclaimed Word. When we speak about the Word as a means of grace, we mean that the Spirit uses the Word as a vehicle of his presence and power. Spirit and Word must be understood in relation to one another. The work of the Spirit and the Word are interwoven so much so that it is hard to distinguish where one ends and the other begins.

I Thes 1:5 For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction;

I Corinthians 2:3-5 I also was with you in weakness and fear, and in great trembling and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of mankind, but on the power of God.

I Thes 2:13 For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the Word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the Word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.

Acts 10:44 While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the Word.

Galatians 3:2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?

Galatians 3:5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith--

Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith.”

Romans 10:8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,

Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the Word of Christ.

John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

Luke 1:37 “For no Word from God will ever fail” (NIV) or “Nothing is impossible with God” (NASB)

Hebrews 4:12 For the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Ephesians 1:13 “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the Word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in who also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.”

1 Peter 1:23-25 ...since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding Word of God; for "All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the Word of the Lord remains forever." And this Word is the good news that was preached to you.

John 7:38-39 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive;

Is 55:9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.

10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
And do not return there without watering the earth
And making it bear and sprout,
And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
11 So will My Word be which goes forth from My mouth;
It will not return to Me empty,
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it
.

John 6:68 Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have Words of eternal life.

John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the Words that I have spoken to you are Spirit and are life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.”

John 17:17 Sanctify them in the truth; your Word is truth.

Duet 8:3 He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.

John 15:3-5 Already you are clean because of the Word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Matthew 17:5 He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.

1 Corinthians 1:21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.

2 Corinthians 2:14-17
But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.

James 1:18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the Word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

Psalm 33:6 By the Word of the Lord the heavens were made, And by the breath of His mouth all their host.

I Cor 1:21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

Romans 10:14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? 15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!” 16 However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ.

Philippians 2:16 holding fast the Word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.

I John 2:5 but whoever keeps His Word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.

John 12:48 He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the Word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.

2 Thessalonians 2:13–14 13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as first fruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14 He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ezekiel 12:25-28 For I the Lord will speak, and whatever Word I speak will be performed. It will no longer be delayed, for in your days, O rebellious house, I will speak the Word and perform it,” declares the Lord God.’” 26 Furthermore, the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 27 “Son of man, behold, the house of Israel is saying, ‘The vision that he sees is for many years from now, and he prophesies of times far off.’ 28 Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “None of My Words will be delayed any longer. Whatever Word I speak will be performed,”’” declares the Lord God.

James 1:21 Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the Word implanted, which is able to save your souls.

John 4:39-42 From that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the Word of the woman who testified, “He told me all the things that I have done.” 40 So when the Samaritans came to Jesus, they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. 41 Many more believed because of His word; 42 and they were saying to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world.”

John 20:30 Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.

Jeremiah 1:12 Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it.”

Lamentations 2:17 The Lord has done what He purposed; He has accomplished His Word
which He commanded from days of old. He has thrown down without sparing,
And He has caused the enemy to rejoice over you; He has exalted the might of your adversaries.

Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, give attention to my Words; Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart.
22 For they are life to those who find them; And health to all their body.

Romans 10:8 But what does it say? “The Word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 4:17 (as it is written, “A father of many nations have I made you”) in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist.

2 Timothy 4:1 begins with these words. “I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word.”

.
Matthew 4:4 “Man shall not live by bread alone but every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”

Colossians 3:16 (NKJV)
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lor

Im scared to do the right thing

I wasn’t sure how to phrase my true situation because I felt I would get condemned so sorry for the cryptic-ness.

Everyday I realize more and more just how bad I was and I feel immense guilt. I know what I need to do to repent. I know I need to confess to those who I’ve caused offense to and hurt, and face the consequences, however I’m very scared to. I’m scared because I still feel that in my situation I might die- it may sound silly but it isn’t. I have committed so many offenses in my life and sinned with knowledge of truth. There are many things I want to achieve and do in my life especially repenting. I definitely regret the way I lived but I have no excuse before god because I had knowledge of truth and chose to still reject god later on. I’ve become like one of the bad seeds. I really want to start over, completely but I feel god is done with me. I remember all those times he showed me mercy and I took it for granted because now I’m in enmity of god. I read the book of Romans and what it says about reprobates and it aligns a lot with my life. I don’t even have a good reason for rebelling against god in the first place I just wanted to entertain my sins and now I regret it. I find that I’m also stuck in this slavery to sin, even at times that I don’t want to be. I’ve always disobeyed god and my parents and I’ve always been curious for the wrong things. In my culture that’s what’s considered a cursed person and I definitely feel cursed. I do want to be held accountable and change and I wouldn’t even mind suffering or chastisement from god I just really fear dying and facing those who I’ve caused serious harm to. I’ve also been revealed ti my pastor which has made me realize a lot- it’s definitely given me more incentive to do the right thing but it showed me that even as I’m willing to face the consequences, I’m still scared to. I don’t see any redemption for myself but I know that I need to do the right thing nonetheless.

Gog and Magog (Part I)

With Iran’s threat to attack Israel and Turkey’s support for Iran’s proxies, the first battle of Gog and Magog appears to be very imminent (Ezekiel 38-39, Joel 2, Zechariah 12, Isaiah 34, Revelation 6:12-17).

Jesus said the events encapsulated in the first four seals of Revelation 6’s sealed scroll would be like birth pangs, which get more intense and closer together as the time approaches. Think about Al Aqsa Flood for a minute. Since October 7th, 2023, we have seen the following:

1. Conquest of Palestine by Israel
2. Attacks from Hezbollah, Hamas, and Houthi.
3. Hyperinflation and stagflation in the market
4. Monkeypox Pandemic in Africa

Now Islamist immigrants flood into European nations governed predominantly by Christians and they are trying to change the laws to sharia law. This, IMO, will no doubt result in martyrdom and persecution of Christians. If I’m correct about this, Trump will not win the 2024 elections.

But all is in God’s hands and nothing happens without His permission.

Finally, the sixth seal quotes so many end-time prophecies about the destruction of nations surrounding and attacking Israel. Notice the patterns in the following passages:

1) Joel 2 talks about an army from the north coming and urges Israel to fast and repent. Then the sun is turned dark and moon to blood. Then the Holy Spirit is poured out on Israel. Then Joel 3 speaks of the destruction of the surrounding nations and the restoration of Israel.

2) Isaiah 33-34 talks about stars falling from the sky and heaven wrapping up like a scroll as signs of the destruction of surrounding nations and Edom (who hated his brother and wanted his blessings). Isaiah 35 follows that talking about the blessings of Israel.

3) Ezekiel 38-39 talks about a massive earthquake that removes mountains and causes everything on earth to hide. It is preceded by the restoration of Israel and followed by the attacking nations getting destroyed by God. Then Israel experiences prosperity, even burning the fuel from the armies for seven years (no coincidence to Daniel 9:27).

4) Zechariah 12 talks about Jerusalem being surrounded by armies and defeating them, then God gathering all nations against Jerusalem to execute judgment on them. Then the Holy Spirit is poured out on Israel and they receive Jesus. Blessings follow afterward and Israel experiences revival.

I would argue that the fifth seal is imminent and the sixth is right after that. We’ll have to watch and see. God is in control, not me or my interpretations.

Top Trump advisers in turmoil after campaign’s worst month of 2024

Senior aides see challenges from enemies real and perceived as the ex-president struggles against Harris. Donald Trump has privately expressed faith in his campaign leadership and no personnel changes are currently expected, but senior advisers find themselves in the most vulnerable moment as they struggle to frame effective attacks against Kamala Harris, according to multiple people familiar with the matter.

Perhaps Trump should listen to what his advisors are saying to him. Or, maybe, do what he is best known for - sack them.

White House says deals struck to cut prices of popular Medicare drugs that cost $50 billion yearly

How come Biden didn't do this three years ago?
Heck, why didn't he do it 47 years ago when he first got elected to the Senate?

Reason, it's a political move in the election season in order to get votes for Kamala.

I just hope this doesn't create shortages of drugs, as the pharmaceutical companies don't have to produce certain drugs.

We've Wronged No One

“Make room in your hearts for us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have taken advantage of no one. I do not say this to condemn you, for I said before that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together. I am acting with great boldness toward you; I have great pride in you; I am filled with comfort. In all our affliction, I am overflowing with joy” (2 Corinthians 7:2-4 ESV).

What does it mean to wrong someone? It means to maltreat, abuse, oppress, cheat, defraud, and/or dishonor someone, particularly with willful and deliberate intent. And what does it mean to corrupt someone? It is a willingness to act dishonestly, to do what is unscrupulous, and to make deliberate alterations to something, i.e. to manipulate and falsify information. And what does it mean to take advantage of someone? It means to ask for or expect more than is fair or reasonable from someone or to use someone unfairly for personal gain or to exploit (abuse) someone.

These were the kinds of things the apostles were being accused of and which we might also be accused of when we are following Jesus Christ with our lives, and when we are speaking the truth, in love, to others, and when we are addressing sin issues in others which need to be resolved, which is what the apostles were apparently doing when they were falsely accused of wrongdoing. For we can have all good intentions, but sometimes when we try to help others it will backfire on us, and we may be treated as though we are the enemy while the true enemy is brought under no scrutiny at all.

There seemed to be some concern here that the Corinthian believers were perhaps believing and accepting the lies, and that they may have been withdrawing from the apostles to some extent, because of the rumors which were flying about them. And so Paul was asking that they make room in their hearts for the apostles and that they accept the fact that they had not done evil to anyone. For just because some people might take us in the wrong way or make judgments about us based on their own perceptions, it does not necessitate that any wrongful acts have been committed at all.

But he did not say this to condemn them. He was not accusing them of anything, but he definitely had cause for concern, which is why he was asking that they make room in their hearts for the apostles. And he did encourage them that they were in the hearts of the apostles, to die together and to live together. And then he commended them for something, and as we read further on down in the passage, it appears it had to do with their response to a letter he wrote them previously, which could have been the fact that, although grieved by his letter, it led them to repentance.

It is always great when things like this turn out in a good direction and not a bad one, when people who accuse others wrongfully of things they did not do, in the way they are being accused of doing them, when they are finally able to see clearly that no harm was intended, but only good, and no evil took place, and no lying, misleading, manipulation or dishonesty took place, but only what had good intentions for the good of others, and not to harm them. Sadly, it doesn’t always turn out that way, but it is wonderful when others can lay down their swords and relent from unfounded accusations.

But even if we are being accused falsely of things we did not do, we can rest assured that God is still sovereign over all he created, and he has a plan and a purpose for it all in our lives, and that if we are following him with our lives, he is working it all out for our good. And good doesn’t mean necessarily that we will no longer suffer, but that we will learn what we need to learn through our suffering so that we can grow to maturity in Christ through the things that we suffer and can be used of God in ways he could not use us before he took us through these trying times.

I pray you'll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don't know

I pray we'll find your light
And hold it in our hearts
When the stars go out each night
Remind us where you are.

Let this be our prayer
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe.

Life changer at age 16

Age 16 was the first time I was introduced to God .I grew as the good child until I was 12 years old. After I turned 13,I went down the wrong path in my life. Met the wrong people that were a bad influence on me hanging out with them. They were doing the drugs and alcohol, did get me to try the drugs. Was a couple that I did not like. Age 15, did drink and came home drunk a few times. My parents were not too happy with me at all. It was not just the drugs and alcohol, did have unprotected sex with boys starting at age 14 and some older men. My parents were to the point they were stressed out and I put them through a lot. Age 16, was at a party that was busted by cops and I was drinking a beer caught given a minor in possession ticket. My dad was not too happy that night with me. Had a talk with my mom and she agreed with him on entering me in a program for troubled teens to see what prison life is like. Dad told me this was tough love from him and glad he did it. I learned prison life was not for me, a female prisoner that got into my face and I talked in her cell. Said she was doing what I was doing, was in for a drug possession caught with drugs. Got it to me I needed to change my life around and she was right. Gave me a huge wake up call and my parents noticed it. Told them I am going to change my ways and apologized to them for the pain I put them through. I had to prove it and did. It was also 3 days after I finished the program, found out I was pregnant at age 16. The boy that got me pregnant left and this was tough. I knew that I ruined a part of my life and decided to focus on becoming a mom. Proved it to my parents when my son whom is 28 now came into my life at age 17. Started going to church with my parents and asked the pastor for advice after a service. Said he seen I have changed in the right direction and God will forgive me in time. Even said I had to gain that trust back from my parents back proving it. He helped me through everything.I still remember asking him if I could speak out how God changed my life around during a service a year later after the change. He said yes and I did,my parents including the other members said they were proud of me.The cop that gave me the ticket was there too also a member and he was glad I changed as well.

Did they prepare the Passover on the day of Preparation of the Passover?

As confusing as it seems, the answer is no.

Mark 14:

12 On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb was to be sacrificed, Jesus' disciples asked Him, "Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?"
prepare
ἑτοιμάσωμεν (hetoimasōmen)
Verb - Aorist Subjunctive Active - 1st Person Plural Strong's 2090: To make ready, prepare. From hetoimos; to prepare.
Strong's Greek: 2090. ἑτοιμάζω (hetoimazó) — 40 Occurrences

It was Nisan 14, the beginning of an 8-day Feast/Festival.

Matt 26:

17 Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Where will you have us prepare [G2090] for you to eat the Passover?” 18He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.’” 19 And the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they prepared [G2090] the Passover.
Technically speaking, preparing the lamb was done before the sun had completely set, and eating the lamb and unleavened bread happened after the sunset (on Nisan 15).

Parallel account, Luke 22:

7 Then came the day of Unleavened Bread, on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. 8 So Jesusa sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare [G2090] the Passover for us, that we may eat it.” 9 They said to him, “Where will you have us prepare [G2090] it?” 10 He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him into the house that he enters 11 and tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ 12 And he will show you a large upper room furnished; prepare [G2090] it there.” 13 And they went and found it just as he had told them, and they prepared [G2090] the Passover.
All three synoptic gospels used the verb G2090 to prepare the Passover.

The next day, Nissan 15, was a Friday. Jn 19:

14 Now it was the day of Preparation of the Passover. It was about the sixth hour. He [Pilate] said to the Jews, “Behold your King!”
the day of Preparation
Παρασκευὴ (Paraskeuē)
Noun - Nominative Feminine Singular
Strong's 3904: The day of preparation, the day before the Sabbath, Friday. As if from paraskeuazo; readiness.
Strong's Greek: 3904. παρασκευή (paraskeué) — 6 Occurrences

G2090 was not related to G3904. One was a verb and the other was a noun, and they don't share the same lexeme (root word). The noun form of G2090 was G2091 (Ep 6:15). G2090 was a frequent word with 40 occurrences, while G3904 was a special term appearing only 6 times.

That was a Friday before the Sabbath during the multi-day Passover Festival, not the day they killed the paschal lamb.

A later verse confirmed this:

31 Since it was the day of Preparation [G3904], and so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away.
Gill:

for that sabbath day was an high day; it was not only a sabbath, and a sabbath in the passover week.
BDAG παρασκευή:

it was Friday, on which day everything had to be prepared for the Sabbath, when no work was permitted
BDAG σάββατον:

① the seventh day of the week in Israel’s calendar, marked by rest fr. work and by special religious ceremonies, sabbath
ⓐ sing.
σάββατον μέγα Great Sabbath MPol 8:1; 21:1; cp. J 19:31b
BDAG classified this high Sabbath day as a weekly Saturday.

The Jews wanted to finish the work before the Sabbath.

41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. 42 So because of the Jewish day of Preparation [G3904], since the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.
Did they prepare the Passover on the day of Preparation of the Passover?

No. The wording in English is confusing. However, in the original Greek, it was not as confusing. They G2090-prepared the Passover lamb on Thursday. G3904-day-of-Preparation meant Friday.

Did Jesus die on the day they killed the paschal lamb?

No, he ate the Paschal lamb in the Last Supper. He died the next day, Friday. He was placed in a tomb before the Sabbath.

Did they bury Jesus before or after sunset?

The synoptic gospels indicated Jesus died around the ninth hour, i.e., about 3 PM (Mark 15:34, Matthew 27:46, Luke 23:44) on a Preparation day, i.e., Friday. Joseph of Arimathea knew that Sabbath was coming.

ESV, Mk 15:

42 And when evening had come, since it was the day of Preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath, 43Joseph of Arimathea, a respected member of the council, who was also himself looking for the kingdom of God, took courage and went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.
evening
ὀψίας (opsias)
Adjective - Genitive Feminine Singular
Strong's 3798: Late, evening. From opse; late; feminine afternoon or nightfall.
Strong's Greek: 3798. ὄψιος (opsios) — 15 Occurrences

G3798 was ambiguous. BDAG:
① as adj. pert. to a point in time that is relatively later than another point of time, late
② In our lit. mostly subst. the period between late afternoon and darkness, evening

Parallel account, NIV, Matthew 27:

57 As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus.
approached
γενομένης (genomenēs)
Verb - Aorist Participle Middle - Genitive Feminine Singular
Strong's 1096: A prolongation and middle voice form of a primary verb; to cause to be, i.e. to become, used with great latitude.

They were running late into the beginning of the Sabbath.

Parallel account, ESV, Jn 19:

38 After these things Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took away his body. 39Nicodemus also, who earlier had come to Jesuse by night, came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds in weight. 40 So they took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews. 41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. 42 So because of the Jewish day of Preparation [G3904], since the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.
The Jewish Day of Preparation referred to a Friday. It was the end of it. Sabbath was beginning. Joseph and Nicodemus tried to beat the sunset.

Parallel account, Berean Literal Bible, Lk 23:

50 And behold, a man named Joseph, being also a Council member, a good and righteous man— 51he was not having consented to their counsel and deed—from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, who was waiting for the kingdom of God. 52 He having gone to Pilate, asked for the body of Jesus. 53 And having taken it down, he wrapped it in a linen cloth and placed it in a tomb cut in a rock, in which no one yet had been laid. 54 And it was the Day of Preparation, and Sabbath was just beginning.
was just beginning
ἐπέφωσκεν (epephōsken)
Verb - Imperfect Indicative Active - 3rd Person Singular
Strong's 2020: To dawn, be near commencing. A form of epiphauo; to begin to grow light.
Strong's Greek: 2020. ἐπιφώσκω (epiphóskó) — 2 Occurrences

The G2020 dawning metaphor is a bit confusing but note the imperfect tense. The beginning of the Sabbath was not yet finished. They didn't have a mechanical watch, so the timing of the beginning of the Sabbath from their observational point of view was imprecise.

ESV, Lk 23:

55 The women who had come with him from Galilee followed and saw the tomb and how his body was laid. 56 Then they returned and prepared spices and ointments.
Mary Magdalene et al learned the location of the tomb. They would return more than 24 hours later, after the Sabbath.

On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.
The men and the women observed the weekly Sabbath rest.

The men did what they could to quickly wrap Jesus' body and spread the spices inside the tomb. The sun might have already set when they came out of the tomb. After the Sabbath, Mary Magdalene et al intended intended to perform more meticulous work on Jesus' body.

Did they bury Jesus before or after sunset?

They were in a hurry to place Jesus' body into the tomb to beat the sundown. By the time they emerged, the sun might have already dipped below the horizon, but not by much.

Luke 13:3 being ripped out of context to teach Repent Of Your Sins

Luke 13:2-4 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?"
It says ye will all likewise perish, what is the likewise? a tower falling on their head. Nothing here about going to hell, perish there does not mean to go to hell, it is talking about turning from a building falling on their head. It is talking about physical perishing, not losing your eternal life due to sinning too much. It is false to take Luke 13:3 out of context to falsely teach repent of your sins to be saved.

The first time repent is mentioned in the bible it is God repented. God repented over 30 times and he has no sin, so in order to get the definition of what we must repent of, you must look at the context. no verse in the bible says Repent of your sins to be saved from hell. it doesn't exist. People can only rip verses like this out of context and try to apply that perish there means hell when that is not what Jesus was saying. Don't put words in Jesus mouth but repent of your sins people add "repent of your sins to be saved" to Jesus mouth when he said no such thing

Exodus 13:17 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:" Here is an example of a bad repentance, God didnt want them to repent here, see repent means to turn. And to know what to turn from you must look at the context. And not rip verses like "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish" that is not a correct way to use the word of God at all. We are saved by grace not works.

Why am I so persistent about this repent of your sins thing? Because people are going to hell it is a horrible thing that people are being led astray taught a false gospel that they must turn from all of their sins to make it to heaven, when the true gospel is Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.

A lot of people are going to hell thinking they will be in heaven because they believe they turned from their sins + believe, but thats damnable. you cannot add works to salvation. Its a smooth criminal works salvation, the way they sneak it in. it isvery serious, that if people would simply read their bibles cover to cover King James, all of this could be avoided but instead they want to listen to preachers get up and say stuff that is not in the bible like "repent of your sins to be saved" well maybe if enough people repeat it, then it will become true, no my friend the eternal word of God is the only truth, the final authority and you will not find "repent of your sins to be saved" cover to cover. Its faith alone my friend. the entire book, its faith alone in Christ to be saved. nothing else, you cannot add to that.

Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.”

So if you sign up for Disney + and your wife dies due to an allergy at a Disney theme park Disney are immune from litigation?

Seriously Disney are claiming the terms and conditions to signing up to Disney+ carry over to their theme parks.

If you sign up to Disney+ remember Disney claim that you have signed away your right to sue if anything goes wrong not just to yourself but your wife and children at their theme parks.
