Ron DeSantis Bans Lab-Grown Meat

FLGov said:
“Today, Florida is fighting back against the global elite’s plan to force the world to eat meat grown in a petri dish or bugs to achieve their authoritarian goals,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “Our administration will continue to focus on investing in our local farmers and ranchers, and we will save our beef.”

It seems not to be for health or safety but to keep meat prices profitable for Florida farmers, aka Big Ag. There is also a bit of the ick factor for banning bug-based "meat". I don't see the point in banning it as it seems a hard sell to the US public, anyway.

Is it just authoritarian showboating or what?

We have much hope. God will help us.

I have mental problems and i have experienced great hardship in my mind. I got through it by hoping in Jesus Christ the whole time.

Never give up hoping in Jesus, no matter the failure, fear, confusion or gloom. Persevere always. If you fall down get back up. God will help us.

Bye bye self checkout

Greedy corporations don't want to pay people wages and replace them with machines. They deserve what they get but personally, I like self-checkout because I hate standing in line. I won't pay extra for it though.

What the apostles were actually like and what they looked like

The apostle were dressed in rags and were poor. They were out of their minds for God at times. Paul had a messenger of Satan torment him. He didn't trust his own judgment but waited on God to judge.

if he came to your church you might think that he's a crazy or demon possessed homeless man

Matthew 10:24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house [Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household! 26 Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.

2 Corinthians 5:13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; or if we are of sound mind, it is for you.

2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.

1 Corinthians 4:. 3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human [a]court. In fact, I do not even judge myself.

4 For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord.

5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.

Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be [c]puffed up on behalf of one against

8 You are already full! You are already rich! You have reigned as kings without us—and indeed I could wish you did reign, that we also might reign with you!

9 For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men condemned to death; for we have been made a spectacle [e]to the world, both to angels and to men.

10 We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored!

11 To the present hour we both hunger and thirst, and we are poorly clothed, and beaten, and homeless. 12 And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure; 13 being defamed, we [f]entreat. We have been made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now.

4 I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you. 15 For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

16 Therefore I urge you, imitate me.

17 For this reason I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.

Communion sickness

Paul said that eating the Lord's flesh and blood in an unworthy manner results in being sick. What is this sickness? I believe it's spiritual illness like spiritual blindness and uncircumcised ears and hearts.

1 Corinthians 11:30 For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.

Ephesians 5:14 Therefore He says:

“Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”

Have you ever tried to help someone and he doesn't exactly appreciate it?

Have you ever tried to help someone and they don't exactly appreciate it?

I tried to help a homeless person who was living in his car and had car issues. It's been a strange experience and I don't know if I should go into details because, who knows (?), maybe he comes to this forum?

But in any case, I was willing to get car parts and even pay for his tags to be updated but he always had some reason for dragging his feet on getting the car going. He asked me for items that I frankly did not think he needed at all. But some day, the city is going to get tired of him staying in one spot. Neighbors already have.

There is more to this story, but again, I don't feel like airing his business in public so maybe I should leave it at that but I am wondering about other stories of trying to help people and they just don't seem to... uh... appreciate it or what have you. I mean, it seemed the guy was irritated w/ me recently and I couldn't figure out WHY. Maybe it was because I had some business of my own to deal with and didn't spend time socializing much the last time I saw him? God knows. But I do have problems myself...

Anyway, I was getting irritated feeling HE was irritated w/ me when I have been kind and etc... makes no sense. Maybe he knows more about the car's problems than he is telling? Maybe getting insurance and all the other stuff feels like too daunting a task, but as they say "a journey of 1000 miles begins with one step."

You have any stories like this?

Is it worth it to get home Internet if you already use your phone for Internet?

I am kind of wondering if it is worth it to sign up for home Internet for computer use if you already use your phone for using the Internet. I might think I would save money if I did not sign up for home Internet. However I am wanting to use a computer to install some really complicated Mobile Device Management software on a phone, so I think I may want to get Internet. The library won’t work for the installation because of peculiarities with the Wi-Fi network.

I already use a bluetooth keyboard with my phone so I’m not sure I really need Internet. If I got Internet, I can imagine I would use a computer to stream worship music on YouTube with my morning coffee. I think I may want both a laptop and a desktop. The desktop could be setup at the dining room table, and the laptop could be used on the deck of my apartment.

Race politics and Christian identity

The law seems to protect minorities so it can't be racist against them. It doesn't much matter however because my church is not racist.

I'm not Republican or Democrat. I'm a Christian disciple of Jesus Christ my only king. If I'm a politician then I am racist. It's politicians who engaged in racism but not Jesus. I can't stain the Lord by joining him to racism.

Jesus destroyed race identity. We are all one in Christ as Paul teaches us. We are not flesh or race now. We are new and we are spirit now.

The ideological cocktail poisoning American campuses

The leftist ideology that has become dominant on campuses today, sometimes called wokeism, adds a twist that is racialist and arguably racist: that all those deemed (by the woke) as "people of color" are oppressed and entitled to commit any and all atrocities to "resist" those deemed (by the woke) as "white."
This is a mirror image of the Nazis' belief that the German nation, "the Aryan man," and white people were oppressed and that the solution was what they called a "racial revolution." (You should know that both Nazi and woke racial constructs lack any scientific basis.)

Exactly. It is a spinoff of Marxism, with hatred of race replacing hatred of class.

Ex-Satanist Turned Christian Reveals What is 'Behind the Curtains' of 'Devil's Battle Plan'

The co-founder of a Satanic movement in South Africa who had a supernatural encounter with Jesus Christ and renounced the occult says he is now on a mission to equip Christians to "handle and understand the devil's battle plan" in the last days.

Riaan Swiegelaar, a former reverend at the South African Satanic Church (SASC), stepped down from his position in May 2022 but recently revealed on social media why he has decided now is the time to reveal what is "behind the curtains" of the satanic church.

"I don't feel that our war is against physical people. I feel our war is in spirit and what God has revealed to me is that we are in a time where it is crucial," he explained. "We are living in the time of (the book of) Revelation. So it is time to put this information out in a very respectful way," he shared.

"We will equip spiritual warriors to handle and understand the devil's battle plan," he added.

Born of WATER and the Spirit

Jesus spoke to Nicodemus in John 3:

5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.
What is born of water?

There are at least 3 interpretations:

  1. Water is a symbol of cleansing, Ezekiel 36:
25 “Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26“Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27“I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. 28“You will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers; so you will be My people, and I will be your God.
2. Water refers to water baptism. John 1:

33 And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’
Nicodemus knew about John's water baptism for repentance. Jesus informed him that there was another requirement. Ellicott, Cambridge Bible, and Bengel agreed to this interpretation #2.

3. Water refers to natural watery birth or amniotic sac breaking (Smith's Bible Commentary, Dr. Constable's Expository Notes). John 3:

3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”
5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
water || human flesh
Spirit || human spirit

Because of the immediate context and parallelisms, I put more weight on #3.

SC Senate Passes Bill Banning Affirmative Care For Minors

South Carolina has joined 24 other states in banning affirmative therapy and/or puberty blockers.for.minors. This bill.also prevents schools from hiding a kids desire to be trans in the school. This is all great news.

We are slowly winning this battle to protect kids from harm.

From rhe article.

The bill bars health professionals from performing gender-transition surgeries, prescribing puberty blockers and overseeing hormone treatments for patients under 18.

School principals or vice principals would have to notify parents or guardians if a child wanted to use a name other than their legal one, or a nickname or pronouns that did not match their sex assigned at birth.

It's pretty obvious the author is a leftist with a left wing bias but that's to be expected these days from journalists. Sex isn't assigned. Sex is. No doctor assigns sex, it's a biological reality. I also wonder how much the author left out regarding how this bill came to be. What research was used. What information was used in order to pass this bill. Did anyone testify in support or opposition to the bill and what did they say?

This is great news indeed.

Water and Spirit

I don't understand how 'Christians' seem to miss this. Are these the modern day Pharasees, who can't see that YHWH means "behold the hand behold the nail"?

I think there is redundant information that one is not 'saved' or 'born again' until one has stopped sinning. If you are living in sin, you are not born again, you are still in your sinful nature. Most 'Christians' are in the category of the dirt where the seed was planted among the tares. Jesus said, only when the seed grows above the tares, will it bear fruit.

So how are we born again? Jesus said, by water and Spirit.

I will let you fill me in what you think that means until I make further bold statements.

Conspiracy Theories: Origins

Something about Conspiracy Theories. The phrase "Conspiracy Theorists" first arose after the JFK assassination. People thought there might be more to his death than just a lone gunman. But the Warren Commission insisted that Oswald acted alone, and those who believe otherwise were branded with a brand new insult: "Conspiracy Theorists." Once a media narrative is set, they seek to marginalize and minimalize all who disagree, and that tactic is worse now than ever.

Today, MOST Americans do not believe Oswald acted alone, and a great movie was even made about that called "JFK". Therefore, according to those who coined that phrase, and by their standards , MOST Americans are Conspiracy Theorists.

Now today: Lets take the Stolen 2020 Election as a comparison. Personally, I am convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was stolen, and that has been proven sufficiently for me. In fact, there is far far more evidence supporting the fact that the 2020 election was stolen then there is about Oswald not working alone.

Just as before, the media narrative was set, and all who had a different opinion were mocked. But today, unlike in the early 60's, the technology exists to cancel and literally wipe out those who disagreed. And that happened writ large. Hopefully, we will be vindicated and justice will be done. I think that those who believe that Oswald did not act alone have been vindicated. We are still waiting for justice to be done in that case too.

So, think twice before mocking someone and labeling them a "Conspiracy Theorist." There is a high probability that you are one yourself.

SDA survey: "majority of global church members did not have a clear understanding of the Trinity as consisting of three distinct Persons"

This data is from the 2022-2023 Global Church Member Survey Concerning the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

The meta-analysis discussion regarding views of the Trinity in the Seventh-day Adventist Church:

https://www.adventistresearch.info/...FINAL-February-2024-Cover-Page-Adjustment.pdf

1. A large majority (81%) of the weighted global sample wholeheartedly embraced belief in the Trinity (one God, a unity of three eternal equal persons; item B6.1). Another 13% accepted this belief because the church teaches it (total of 94%). Only 1% had major doubts or rejected this belief and only 3% reported having questions. The suggests that Seventh-day Adventists hold Trinitarian beliefs. Acceptance of this belief was essentially the same in Wave II (95%).
2. More than 85% of respondents in each of the regions accept the belief in the Trinity wholeheartedly or because the Adventist Church teaches it. Only three Divisions; (South Pacific (73%), Southern Asia-Pacific, (73%) and Southern Asia (60%), had fewer than three-quarters of respondents wholeheartedly accept this belief.
3. However, several clusters of Divisions had a substantial proportion of respondents report that they did not believe that the Holy Spirit was a Person (but is instead God’s power in the world)—a view that contradicts acceptance of belief in the Trinity (item B1.31). Most respondents agreed that the Holy Spirit is God’s power, not a Person in the West-Central Africa (76%), East-Central Africa (71%), Southern Africa-Indian Ocean and South Pacific (65% each) Divisions. The majority of respondents also agreed with this statement in the Southern Asia (63%), and Southern Asia-Pacific (59%) Divisions. Over 40% of respondents agreed with this statement in the North American (41%), Inter-American (43%), and South American (46%) Divisions. In the remaining regions, fewer than one-third of the respondents agreed with the statement, with fewer than 10% agreeing in the Euro-Asia Division (7%) and Ukrainian Union Conference (8%).
4. As a result of these regional patterns, a majority (57%) of the weighted global sample agreed (23%) or strongly agreed (34%) that the Holy Spirit is not a Person but represents God’s power in the world (item B1. 1). This item was not included in Wave II.
5. These data suggest that the majority of global church members did not have a clear understanding of the Trinity as consisting of three distinct Persons
1714793075766.png
The total study looked at a data set containing 149,556 cases.

Some quotes about the data:
When comparing the percentages in this report, it will be useful to have a sense of the margin of error in most of these analyses. Even when setting the confidence level at a very conservative 99% (most opinion polling sets the confidence level at 95%), the large sample sizes in this report yield relatively small margins of error. For overall sample numbers, a sample size of 125,000 (most variables have a larger sample size than this for the global percentages) will lead to margins of error between about ±0.1% and ±0.4%.

And

Thus, a very conservative heuristic for the 99% confidence margin of error on any percentage in the report is ±0.4% on global percentages, ±3% on percentages for most regions, and ±2% on differences in percentages. Most percentages and percentage differences reported in the meta-analysis will have margins of error that are less than these conservative heuristics.

Spiritual fruit verses politics

Political dissension, division, contention, strife, factions, worries, fears, suspicions, conspiracies, slander, rebellion, gossip, cursing, bitterness, unforgiveness, discontent and complaints are not good according to the holy spirit. None of these things are spiritual fruit from God

Greatest Fears

25) For the thing which I greatly feared, is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
26) I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet, yet trouble came.
Job 3:25-26

So anyone close to me knows I hate being SINgle, but my greatest fear is not being alone but probably the reason I have happen to be alone it is something I have happen to be so ashamed of myself that I greatly fear mentioning it. My poor family has heard me murmuring about the problem often. I happen to be so ashamed of it that I won’t mention it here but it really make me question Psalms 139:14. If i am fearfully and wonderfully made why do most others have no problem here, but God leaves me to learn to despise myself for being so pathetic with this issue.

Kristie Noem's Unfortunate Book

It seems like not only did the SD governor not write her autobiography, but she didn't read it either. We've mostly heard about the dog and goat slaughter, but the new errors, "starring down" Kim Jong Un, cancelled a meeting with Macron and got threatened by Ambassador Nikki Haley. Ai yi yi! She is blaming her ghost-writer and editor. SMH.

Gov. Kristi Noem’s camp is attempting to clarify the circumstances around two alleged interactions with foreign leaders that she writes about in her forthcoming book, “No Going Back.”

The veracity of those incidents — a canceled meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and a meeting with North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un — have been disputed by Macron’s office, North Korea experts and former congressional staffers.

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/05/03/kristi-noem-book Ai-excerpt-nikki-haley-dog-00155925
Noem’s spokesperson, Ian Fury, seemed to concede that the Kim story was false Thursday night: “We’ve been made aware that the publisher will be addressing conflated world leaders’ names in the book before it is released.”
That’s not the only story in the memoir raising questions about its validity. Playbook obtained an excerpt from the Noem book that includes an unusual allegation about Haley — one that the former 2024 hopeful plainly denies....

“Nikki has long called and written notes supporting other women when they go through challenging times,” Denton said. “She called Governor Noem in 2020 to encourage her when she was criticized for keeping her state open during Covid. How she would twist that into a threat is just plain weird.”

Texas Man Files Legal Action Against Partner for Out-of-State Abortion

https://wapo.st/3wa4JIL

WaPo:
As soon as Collin Davis found out his ex-partner was planning to travel to Colorado to have an abortion in late February, the Texas man retained a high-powered antiabortion attorney — who court records show immediately issued a legal threat. If the woman proceeded with the abortion, even in a state where the procedure remains legal, Davis would seek a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the abortion and “pursue wrongful-death claims against anyone involved in the killing of his unborn child,” the lawyer wrote in a letter, according to records.

The decision to target an abortion that occurred outside of Texas represents a potential new strategy by antiabortion activists to achieve a goal many in the movement have been working toward since Roe v. Wade was overturned: stopping women from traveling out of state to end their pregnancies. Crossing state lines for abortion care remains legal nationwide. Davis’s petition — filed under Texas’s Rule 202 by Jonathan Mitchell, a prominent antiabortion attorney known for devising new and aggressive legal strategies to crack down on abortion — follows a lawsuit filed last spring by another Texas man, Marcus Silva, who is attempting to sue three women who allegedly helped his ex-wife obtain abortion pills.

“Mr. Davis is considering whether to sue individuals and organizations that participated in the murder of his unborn child,” Mitchell, widely known as the architect of Senate Bill 8, wrote in Davis’s complaint in March. “Mr. Davis is considering whether to sue individuals and organizations that participated in the murder of his unborn child,” Mitchell, widely known as the architect of Senate Bill 8, wrote in Davis’s complaint in March. Davis’s petition includes no evidence of illegal activity. Davis’s former partner ultimately obtained her abortion in Colorado, Davis claims in the court documents. Mitchell suggests in the petition that people who helped her procure the abortion could be found liable. Mitchell said in a statement that abortions that occur outside Texas can be targets for civil litigation. “Fathers of aborted fetuses can sue for wrongful death in states with abortion bans, even if the abortion occurs out-of-state,” he wrote. “They can sue anyone who paid for the abortion, anyone who aided or abetted the travel, and anyone involved in the manufacture or distribution of abortion drugs.”

How do politics obey God?

My friends.

Politics are not worth it. They don't help us grow in Christ.

Political division doesn't obey Romans chapter 13 or Titus 3. It doesn't obey Paul, who teaches us to have no divisions, disagreement, or fighting. Politics fear what mankind fears instead of trusting God.

Politics fear economics recession, jobs loss, wars, conspiracies, suspicions, and is concerned and worried about worldly matters Instead of seeking the kingdom of God.

It's full of division, dissension, factions, slander, rebellion, gossip, fear, worry, and anxiety. It wants to have control and to Lord over others instead of submitting to others in Godly fear and reverence.
