With All My Heart I Give You Thanks

“I will give You thanks with all my heart;
I will sing praises to You before the gods.
I will bow down toward Your holy temple
And give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth;
For You have magnified Your word according to all Your name.
On the day I called, You answered me;
You made me bold with strength in my soul.” (Psalm 138:1-3 NASB1995)

We, as followers of Christ, have so many things to be thankful for to God. For one, I am thankful that he gave me the breath of life, and that, at the age of 75, he is still giving me the breath of life. I am thankful to God that Jesus Christ (the second person of our triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) came to the earth, was born as a baby to a human mother, grew to manhood, and in his death on that cross put my sins to death with him so that, by the grace of God, I might die to sin and walk with him in his ways.

[Matthew 7:13-14,21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 1:12-13; John 6:44; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Romans 2:6-8; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; Galatians 5:16-24; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:17-32; Ephesians 5:3-6; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13; Hebrews 12:1-2; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 1:5-10; 1 John 2:3-6; 1 John 3:4-10]

I am thankful that, at the age of 7, he called me to be one of his followers, though at that young age I was still pretty immature. What I knew, though, was that I did not want to live a wicked life, but I wanted to live for my Lord, to please him. I had seen hypocrisy displayed before my eyes on a regular basis, and I knew that I did not want to be a hypocrite. I did not want to be someone who faked my Christianity, or who just did religious stuff. So I was a seeker of truth who wanted the real Christian life, not the fake one.

I had a lot to learn, though, and a lot of growing up to do, and I faced many difficult and challenging experiences throughout my life, some of which I caved to, and I tried to escape from, but the Lord brought me through them. And because of all of the difficult and trying circumstances I have faced throughout my life, the Lord has made me stronger and more determined to stay the course no matter how many times I get verbally struck, pushed down, cast aside, rejected, and misunderstood. I am thankful for God’s love.

And I am very thankful that my Lord did not give up on me when I failed, at times, to be the person he created me to be. And please do not misunderstand me here, for I am not saying that it is okay for any of us to live in sin and not in obedience to the Lord and that the Lord is going to hang in there with us and that we will still have salvation from sin and eternal life with God. The Bible teaches the opposite of that. So if we keep on sinning, or we return to sin, and we do not repent, we are not saved.

So, please do not take God’s grace for granted. For he is a person of his word, and he will do what he said he would do, both in his promises and in his warnings, which are also promises of what he will do if we do such and such. So, I am so thankful that, when I failed, he did not give up on me, but he pursued me, and he brought me back, and he had a plan and a purpose for my life to use me in the way he has been using me these past 21 years, and he has sustained me, and he is directing my path to walk in his ways.

Now I grew up as a very timid and fearful child. I was not the aggressive type. I was content with a few friends and with peace and quiet, and I had no desire to be at the forefront. I got walked over a lot, and misunderstood, too. And I was very trusting, though not of everyone, but I believed people, and I believed some lies, but truth was very important to me. Doing what was right was important to me, and not doing what was wrong. But the Lord took me through a lot to make me bold with strength in my soul.

So, I am very thankful for the Lord’s lovingkindness to me, for his truth, for his word, for his forgiveness and grace, and for loving me enough to choose me to be one of his disciples and ministers of the gospel of our salvation. For I was not worthy of his grace. And I know fully well that I am only able to do what he has called me to do because of his love and grace to me, because of his tender mercies, and only in his strength, power, and wisdom, as led by God, and not by the flesh. So I give God all the glory always. Praise Him!

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.” Acts 16:25 NIV ‘84

Lord, I praise You forevermore.
You, my Savior, I now adore.
Hope in heaven awaiting me,
Because You died at Calvary.

I have been forgiven,
And I’m bound for heaven.
Jesus set me free from
All my sin, I say.
I will praise Him always!

Lord, I love You for all You’ve done:
Overcame death, my vict’ry won!
Jesus saved me, and now I’m free!
I rejoice in His love for me.

I will walk in vict’ry!
My sin is but hist’ry!
I am free to please Him
With my life today.
I will love Him always!

Lord, I thank You for giving me
A new life bought at Calvary.
Loving Jesus, I meet with Him.
Tender mercies now flow within.

Lord, I am so thankful;
Through my Lord, I’m able
To sit at His table;
Fellowship with Him.
I will thank Him always!

U.S. Border Patrol apprehends Venezuelan man wanted by Interpol for homicide

“This arrest highlights the Border Patrol’s unwavering commitment to protecting our communities and upholding the rule of law." said Chief Patrol Agent John R. Morris. "Through strong partnerships with local and federal law enforcement, we are able to identify and remove dangerous individuals—like this homicide suspect—before they can pose a threat to public safety.”

I sure hope we can deport this guy without a dozen hearings.

A Call to Repentance

“What are your multiplied sacrifices to Me?”
Says the Lord.
“I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
And the fat of fed cattle;
And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs or goats.
“When you come to appear before Me,
Who requires of you this trampling of My courts?
“Bring your worthless offerings no longer,
Incense is an abomination to Me.
New moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies—
I cannot endure iniquity and the solemn assembly.
“I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts,
They have become a burden to Me;
I am weary of bearing them.
“So when you spread out your hands in prayer,
I will hide My eyes from you;
Yes, even though you multiply prayers,
I will not listen.
Your hands are covered with blood.
“Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean;
Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight.
Cease to do evil,
Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Reprove the ruthless,
Defend the orphan,
Plead for the widow.” (Isaiah 1:11-17 NASB1995)

How might we apply the underlying message of God here, spoken then to the rulers and to the people of Sodom and Gomorrah? And who do they represent? They represent the sexually immoral, including in the area of homosexuality, and those who commit detestable perverted sinful acts against others. They also represent the prideful, apathetic, complacent, idolatrous, self-indulgent, selfish, and the idle, who are evildoers.

But they are also the outwardly religious who go through the motions of some religious practices, perhaps to give off the appearance of faith in Jesus Christ and of being Christians who are following the Lord with their lives. Thus they may tithe to the church, and take communion, and they may have been baptized with water, and they may serve as elders or deacons or as bible teachers or group activity coordinators, performing their good deeds.

But God is not impressed with our “good deeds” if we are living in sin, making sin our practice, deliberately and habitually sinning against the Lord and against other humans. He takes no pleasure in our religious practices if we are ignoring his commands and if we are choosing sin, instead. For he considers such hypocritical offerings to him as worthless, for he cannot endure them, and they are a burden to him which wearies him.

I know this is Old Testament, but the New Testament gives us a very similar picture of how God views sin, especially deliberate and habitual sin going on in the lives of those professing faith in Jesus Christ. There he speaks against idolatry, sexual immorality, lying, idleness, and self-indulgence. And he warns the church that if any of them continue living in sin, and not in walks of obedience to his commands, they will not see heaven and God.

And so his call to the adulterous and idolatrous church today is the same in nature as was his call to the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. He is calling all to genuine biblical repentance whereby they now die with Christ to sin so that they can live with God in walks of obedience to his commands, in holy living. He is calling them to cease with doing evil and to learn to do good, the good that God has for us to do as disciples of Jesus Christ.

You alone are my heart's desire

Former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters faces possible prosecution after supporting banned Palestine Action

Former Pink Floyd songwriter Roger Waters could face prosecution after declaring his support for Palestine Action, a terrorist organization that has been banned by Parliament in the U.K.

Waters posted a video to X on Saturday, in which the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame inductee praised Palestine Action as a "great organization," while also giving kudos to Bob Vylan, who led the Glastonbury Festival crowd in a chant, shouting, "Death, death to the IDF."

Waters said in his video that he was in his studio and was working on a piece of brown cardboard with a Sharpie.

He then switched the camera from his face to the cardboard.

TONE DOWN YOUR RHETORIC! Leavitt Urges Democrats to Tone Down Anti-ICE Language After Border Agents Shot At [VIDEO]

"We certainly call on Democrats to tone down their rhetoric against ICE and border patrol agents... I would encourage AOC and other Democrats to actually meet with the United States Border Patrol. These are honorable Americans who are simply trying to do their job to enforce the law."

I've been saying the same for quite some time.

Episcopal Church court sides with priest disciplined for 'Eucharistic fast' against racism

An Episcopal Church court has sided with a Virginia priest who was disciplined for engaging in a “Eucharistic fast” in protest against white supremacist racism.

The Rev. B. Cayce Ramey had been disciplined by the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia for his refusal to administer holy communion during worship services due to his belief that the denomination needed to better embrace racial justice.

The Court of Review for the Episcopal Church announced last week that it ruled10-6 in favor of Ramey, believing that the earlier Hearing Panel made multiple errors in their decision.

July 5, 2025, Father Matteo Balzano, a 35-year-old priest of the Diocese of Novara, Committed Suicide

A tragic event has shaken the small town of Cannobio, Italy overlooking the beautiful Lake Verbano. On the morning of July 5, 2025, Father Matteo Balzano, a 35-year-old priest of the Diocese of Novara, was found lifeless in his residence, he had taken his own life. His absence at morning Mass and silence raised alarm, deeply shocking a community that knew him as devoted, joyful, and ever-present in his ministry among young people.

Ordained in 2017 and originally from Borgomanero, Fr. Matteo's death highlights a painful truth: many priests, though seen as spiritual rocks, quietly carry emotional burdens, loneliness, and pressure few can imagine.

The Church in Italy has begun taking steps to accompany priests with spiritual and psychological support, but this tragedy reminds us that more still needs to be done. Let us lift up Father Matteo in our prayers, and entrust him to the infinite mercy of God, who sees even the hidden wounds and forgives all.

May you Rest in Peace my brother.

An Offering: A Tabernacle of Contemplation

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

I come humbly before you to share an offering - a tabernacle not built by hands, but crafted with intention and love.

This space is meant to be a sanctuary for reflection on divine meekness and the profound mystery of the Cross. It is a place where hearts can rest, thoughts can deepen, and the Spirit can gently lead us into truth.

I have written a reflection titled GodAndMeekness which explores how the Cross reveals God's power through perfect surrender to love. It is available freely to all who wish to enter this tabernacle of contemplation, to view and to share their own testimonies and insights.

You can access it here: bit.ly/GodAndMeekness

May this invitation serve as a gentle call to holy dialogue - a place to listen, to ponder, and to grow together in love and understanding.

Thank you for your gracious hearts and willingness to walk this journey of faith.

In Christ's peace and meekness,

MrMeek

Prayers for my weight loss and limited mobility

So finally after years and years of trying I got down from nearly 450 pounds to 408 pounds so far all without bariatric surgery or without weight loss medication and all with the Lords help and with eating less and eating a somewhat healthy diet. Let's face it, I still eat subway nearly 4x a week I order out for pizza 3-4x a month I eat burger King and have a whopper maybe once a month. I dont eat totally healthy in fact my sodium consumption is ridiculous but its going to be when you're low class and all you can afford are high sodium foods. Hey at least i eat fresh spinach everyday because spinach is $2 for a big container of it!

In all seriousness though? Despite losing weight I still can't move around very much and I still can't do very much my muscles are still very weak from my blood clots that should have killed me 3 years ago and the lithium poisoning that left me nearly crippled months before the blood clots happened. Im still a stroke or heart attack waiting to happen. Im a year away from hitting my 40th birthday and even if i lose a good 100-150 pounds by my 40th which is very possible at the rate im going im still very weak and im afraid of a stroke or heart attack that could leave me crippled permanently which at my age and my weight is a very real possibility. I've been obese ever since I was a child in the second grade and ive been over 350 pounds for almost 15 years now and over 200 pounds since my 13th-14th birthday. So ive always been a big guy. Even when I was first born I was a nearly 12 pound baby. So ive always been big.

Even when I reach my goal weight of like 280 pounds or so im still going to be a big guy. Im just not going to look like a blue whale anymore. But honestly? Id like prayer that I not only lose the weight I need to lose and that its successful so that I can live as long of a life as humanly possible but also that I dont live the rest of my life as a vegetable. I dont care if I have to live the rest of my life on a cane or walker but I want to be able to stand still for longer than 1-2 minutes at a time I want to be able to walk longer than 2-3 minutes. I want to be mobile and active. I dont care if my brain is shot but I want to be able to walk at least! Being a vegetable stuck sitting 24 hours a day having to sit here and only being able to get up to use the restroom and do occasional exercises just isnt cutting it for me and im just afraid losing another 100 pounds wont do that for me. But... maybe im wrong. So let's pray together that not only will I be able to lose the weight that I need to lose like whats been happening but also that, im also not a vegetable afterwards and hopefully I don't have stroke along the way that just permanently cripples me to the point where I can't do anything...

Elon Musk launches ‘America Party’ after Trump signs historic spending bill: 'Waste & graft'

Tech mogul's new political movement comes one day after Trump signed $3.3T 'big, beautiful bill' into law

Elon Musk says the two-party system is broken, and he just launched a new political party to prove it.

On Saturday, Musk announced on X, the social media platform he owns, the formation of the "America Party," calling it a direct response to what he described as a corrupt political establishment that no longer represents the American people.

The announcement followed a viral July 4 poll on X, where Musk asked whether voters wanted independence from what he called the "two-party (some would say uniparty) system."

Trump Faith Office cites Psalm 34:18, urges Americans to pray as Texans refuse to give up hope of more rescues

As rescue crews in Texas continued to search for 41 people still missing, including 10 girls and a counselor from a Christian camp, after catastrophic floods left at least 82 dead across Central Texas, the White House Faith Office released a statement Sunday calling on Americans to pray, quoting Psalm 34:18.

In a statement sent to The Christian Post, the Faith Office urged the nation “to join us in prayer for the precious lives lost.”

The statement added, “Amidst this tragedy, our nation must come together to pray for the victims, their families, and the first responders conducting rescue missions to find those still missing. May God wrap his loving arms around all those in Texas,” quoting Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

Mushroom meal guilty verdict

I think some of you had heard of the poisonous mushroom case in Victoria, Australia.

The court case has been dragging on for the better part of two years, but a guilty verdict was handed down today.

I presume there will be an appeal, psycholgical and psychiatric evaluation and so on, but Erin Patterson will spend her first night in prison today. Sentence has not yet been passed.
