  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Is Greenland the reward?

Is Greenland America's reward for bringing peace between Russia and Ukraine and getting Ukraine to concede land to Russia.

Just speculating here, but it has always seemed to me to be quite ridiculous that the USA announces its intent to annex Greenland without actually doing anything but annoy its allies and the people of Greenland in the process. If they really want it then it would happen, its not as though anyone could stop them.

There are some good strategic reasons to do this:
1) America is better equipped to police this territory against Russian or Chinese incursions than are the Danes even despite recent Danish investment
2) America would gain control of the rare earth resources that global warming is exposing on the island.
3) It fits the Monroe (Donroe) doctrine version of American isolationism favored by Trumps Republicans, securing the continental USA against Great power incursions

There are also some really good reasons not to do this:
1) It would set the USA in direct conflict with another NATO member Denmark and with the wider EU and possibly split the alliance irreparably
2) It is not what the people of Greenland want and so the USA would be storing up trouble for the future as well as sabotaging its international reputation.
3) America could gain most of the military and economic benefits of Greenland's mines and location without annexation.

So why is Trump mouthing off about Greenland while not doing anything. If he loses the midterms I guess this policy gets benched forever but maybe he never thought he would have to wait this long for peace in Ukraine. His plan was make peace, stop excessive Russian advance into Europe, gain a whole bunch of rare earth concessions from the Ukrainians and then as his reward for helping Europe out to get Greenland. With Greenland secured and the Russians and Chinese driven out of Venezuela and Cuba bankrupt, He would have much of the Americas stabilized under USA dominance.

So why hasn't he got a peace deal yet? Is Putin dragging out the war until after the midterms when he thinks he can dictate terms to a weakened Trump and stop Trump taking Greenland also? Obviously this would suit Chinese interests also. Perhaps this would explain that 'hidden something' that Putin appeared to have on Trump that seemed to make Trump consistently pro-Russian and blind to war atrocities. If Greenland was the swap for Russia gaining Ukrainian territory then this explains Putin's apparent leverage over Trump in Alaska and throughout the negotiation process, along with some naughty pictures??!!.

It would also have extremely worrying implications for NATO. It would mean that Trump has always intended to split the alliance but was cool headed enough to understand that he had to secure peace in Ukraine first. He has a stronger negotiation position with Europe on board but after peace he no longer needs them.

This close to a deal in Ukraine is this all nonsense or an explanation why the deal might yet fall through. Just a theory - what do you think`?

What The Will of The Lord Is

“Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father.” (Ephesians 5:15-20 NASB1995)

Again, this is speaking to believers in Jesus Christ. In context we are being instructed to be followers of God, of Jesus Christ, who emulate the Lord in our words, thoughts, and behaviors. Immorality and impurity of any kind must not have any place in our lives at all. For no immoral person who is an idolater has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. So we are not to be deceived into thinking that we can be of genuine faith in Jesus Christ and still deliberately and habitually do what we know is immoral and wicked.

For, by God-gifted and God-persuaded faith in Jesus Christ, we were crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as servants of God and of his righteousness. So, in reference to our former manner of life, we lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and we are renewed in the spirit of our minds, and we put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness.

[Ephesians 5:3-6; Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 6:1-23; Ephesians 4:17-24; Romans 8:1-14; Luke 9:23-26; Galatians 5:16-24; 1 John, chaps 1-3]

Now our walks of faith have to do with our lifestyles, the way we live, the things we do and say, and who we are in character when no one else is around, and when no one else is watching. And it is who we are in principle and in practice regardless of who we are with. In other words, we are not chameleons who change character depending upon who we are around. And we are not people pleasers who try to do and say what we know is going to get us liked by most people. But we remain true to God and to his word.

And this is wisdom. This is being careful how we walk, not careful in the sense that we try to please other humans, or that we try to appear better than we really are, but careful to remain true to God and to his word in holy living and in doing what is pleasing to him and that which will represent him well when we are with others. And I am not saying we will always do this with absolute perfection every time, or that we will never fail in this at any time, but that we should maintain the same godly character in daily practice.

For the grace of God, which is bringing us salvation, is training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives while we wait for our Lord’s return. And Jesus gave his life up for us on that cross to put our sins to death with him so that, by faith in him, we will now die to sin and obey his commands, in practice. For he bought us back for God with his blood out of addiction to sin so we will now serve our Lord by living holy lives, pleasing to God, in his power.

[Titus 2:11-14; Matthew 7:21-23; Romans 6:1-23; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10,19-20; 2 Corinthians 5:10,15,21]

And to speak to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs is not about sitting through a “worship service” led by a “worship leader” who leads all the singing and who chooses all the songs for us to sing. This is about us, one by one, sharing with each other the truths of the Scriptures in poetry or in song or in verse for the mutual encouragement of one another in our walks of faith in obedience to our Lord in holy living. This is what the body of Christ (the church) should look like, with each part doing its work.

[Acts 2:14-18,42-47; Romans 12:1-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; 1 Corinthians 14:1-5; Galatians 6:1; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:1-16; Ephesians 5:15-21; Ephesians 6:10-20; Philippians 2:1-8; Colossians 3:12-16; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:13; Hebrews 10:23-25; James 5:19-20]

When I Was Walking

An Original Work / January 16, 2020
Christ’s Free Servant, Sue J Love

When I was walking along the way,
My Lord was with me, and He did say,
“My child I’m with you. I hear you pray,
‘Oh, help me, Lord! Need You today!’”

He is my friend, near to the end.
Gently leads me. His servant be.
He helps me pray – knows what to say.
He’s all I need. On Him I feed.

When I am wond’ring of what to do,
He gently leads me to what is truth.
He is my helper. He strengthens me.
When I’m in want, supplies my need.

He comforts me with all His love.
Gives me His grace from heav’n above.
I heed His call to watch and pray,
To guard my heart throughout each day.

When He is calling to come to Him,
To let Him lead you, trust Him within,
How will you answer to Him today?
Will you say, “Yes, Lord, have your way”?

Do not neglect to let Him in,
Cleanse you from sin, made new within.
Leave all your sin, obey your Lord,
Trust in His Word – His mighty Sword.

God requires sinless perfection to enter His kingdom

Does God require a person to be sinless prior to enter heaven?

Matthew 5:43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. NKJV

Jesus in Matthew stated that we were to be perfect, as the Father in heaven, is perfect. God requires every person that enters heaven to be sinless. Yes, God requires everyone in Jesus to be in complete obedience to the law.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. NKJV

The requirement for a person to inherit eternal life is to believe in Jesus.

Romans 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. NKJV

Paul states in the epistle to the Romans that all sons of Adam are slaves to sin in our flesh. There is nothing we can do to completely quit sinning. As long as we are in the flesh, we will be sinners. How do we become sinless just by believing in Jesus?

Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. NKJV

When we believe in Jesus we are trusting, or have faith that Jesus, makes us acceptable to God. We have faith that He makes us sinless. Our faith in Jesus gives us the righteousness of Jesus.

Romans 4:5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: NKJV

That is exactly what Paul stated in the next chapter. As long as we have faith in Jesus, we have His righteousness.

1 John 3:5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. NKJV

As long as we keep believing in Jesus, we are sinless.

Midrash "VaYechi" (and he lived) Genesis 47:28-50:26

PARASHA: “VaYechi” (and he lived) GEN 47:28-50:26

In this, we see Jacob (Israel) in his last days, he prepares to “go the way of all men” (as King David put it), Jacob is getting ready to die. He prepares himself and ensures that his sons and grandsons are blessed, so they know what lies ahead of them. A father's blessing to his children is of great importance.

We see that he lived 17 years in Egypt, and strangely enough, Yosef came to Egypt at age 17! All in all, Jacob lived 147 years. Imagine us living that long. Jacob spoke to Joseph, his son, requesting, "Do not bury me in Egypt." Rather, "Bury me in the burial place of my fathers. We can learn something from that request.
Egypt was just a temporary place of sojourning. He was looking forward to the promised land as his permanent "resting" place. We are also just "sojourning" on this planet called Earth; our permanent residency is in the New Jerusalem. Our bodies will be placed under the ground we walk on, but our "real" selves will join Yeshua in the Heavenly realm, and in the future, the New Jerusalem will come to the New Earth that God will create for all time. (or rather, timelessness).

Jacob/Israel blesses Efrayim and M'nasheh. They are his grandsons, yet he declares them his "legitimate sons." We are declared "B'nei Elohim," sons (and daughters) of God, when we come into a "born again" relationship with Yeshua. I think that this is our best identity ever! forget denominational titles, we are "sons and daughters of our Most High God YHVH." We are inheritors of the Kingdom forever.

Efrayim, even though he is the secondborn, will receive a bigger blessing than his brother. His "descendants will grow into many nations." At times, the firstborn does not necessarily receive the "bigger blessing," but rather the "lastborn" or "in between." I was the lastborn of my parents, yet I am the only son who has 4 children and 7 grandchildren. My brother and sister do not have offspring to speak of. We see today that the descendants of Jacob have spread out into all the nations of the world. Then Jacob pronounces prophecy over his 12 sons for the "Acharit-HaYamim" (the last days) or far into the future. The Holy Spirit gives prophecy to Israel for his children. Let's look at the name meanings first.

RUEBEN (Re'eh) “to see”, SIMEON (Sh'ma) “to hear”, LEVI (lev=heart) “united, joined together” Y'HUDAH (contains the most sacred name of God, YHVH) “praise”, DAN “judge”, NAPHTALI “wrestling” GAD “a troop comes”, ASHER “blessed”, ISSACHAR “wages”, ZEBULUN “dwelling"”, YOSEF “YHVH will add a son”, BENJAMIN “son of the right hand” MANASSEH AND EFRAYIM “forget my toil and my father's house” and "fruitful"

Rueben, sadly, loses preeminence of the firstborn because he "slept with Bilhah, his father's concubine". Be careful what you do; one single act of disrespect might be very costly. Simeon and Levi acted with violence when their sister Dinah was raped by Sh'chem, son of Hamor. They went and destroyed the whole city, slaying all the men. Do you wonder why "all the men" if only Shechem was the culprit? Bad temper, violence! Jacob "curses their anger" (not them) and scatters them in Israel. The Levites were "Scattered" throughout the land of Israel, living in different territories of their brethren, not having their own territory.

But then "Y'hudah" (Judah) receives the "Big Blessing." “The scepter shall not depart from Y’hudah, nor a scholar from among his descendants until Shiloh arrives and his will be an assemblage of nations” 49:10

Who is “Shiloh?” We can pretty much agree that it is Messiah Yeshua. Even Rashi and Onkelos render: “until the Messiah comes to whom the kingdom belongs.”

All nations of the world will be gathered unto Messiah Yeshua when he returns to reign for 1000 years. We can also see that in gematria, the name “Shiloh” (Sheen, Yod, Lamed, Hey) "Sh, Y, L, H" sums 345. The words HaShem (a title for YHVH) also sum 345, and “Moses” also sums the same. Of course, it does, since HaShem and Moshe contain the same letters. Moshe was a type of Messiah who redeemed Israel from Egyptian slavery, as Messiah Yeshua redeemed us all from slavery to sin. Also, with the name “Shiloh” we see “Yah” (Yod, Hey), which of course is the shortened form of YHVH. Also, Moses was a "law-giver," who received the "Law" (Torah) from God, as Yeshua (who gave it) gave a deeper understanding of Torah. Let's look at the names of the sons of Israel and their meanings as born-again believers.

We can all SEE the changed lives, the miracles that have been done in believers' lives, and we HEAR of the faith of others who have been challenged by oppressive governments, we HEAR God's Word through SEEING the words in the Torah, and take them into our HEART, so that the words of Torah are JOINED TOGETHER to our lives, so that we may PRAISE the name of YHVH. We must all look at our lives and JUDGE ourselves in light of the scriptures. Are we living the way YHVH wants us to live? We must judge ourselves lest we be judged, yet we will ALL incur JUDGEMENT at the “Judgment seat of Messiah. Every day is a kind of “WRESTLING” match between our old nature and our renewed nature, the sinful flesh against our new “born again” selves.

We are Adonai's TROOPS, we are at war against HaSatan, and his unholy fallen angels, it is spiritual warfare, and our weapons are the WORD of God, His Holy Spirit and HIS holy angels, and our prayers, we have been BLESSED with a new relationship with our creator and redeemer, and we will receive WAGES for our good works, (mitzvoth) in form of rewards in heaven, as “gold, silver, precious stones” We should be "FRUITFUL" and share God's Word with others.

Our future hope is one day to DWELL WITH OUR HUSBAND, who is Messiah Yeshua, who loves us as his “bride”. Every time a lost person is “born again,” a SON IS ADDED to God's redeemed family of believers. We are sons of Adonai's RIGHT HAND, who is Messiah Yeshua, who stretched out his HANDS to receive the nails. We can forget our TOILS, rest from them on the Sabbath. Every Sabbath day is our time to rest from our TOILS, and to be in OUR FATHER'S HOUSE. Someday, we will have our permanent “Sabbath rest”. Again, the biggest blessing of Judah is the coming forth of SHILOH, who is Yeshua, who will have the ruler's scepter, who will be “king over all the earth” to whom will gather ALL nations.

The book of Genesis ends with the word “Egypt,” yet begins with “B’Reisheet” (in the beginning). Do you think there is a sort of symbolism here? Could we perhaps say, Israel had its “Beginning” in “Egypt” when they began their 400-year sojourn, to become a “multitude?” Something to think about. The Torah begins with the letter "B" (B'reisheet), and Genesis ends with the letter "M" (MitzraiM), "Egypt." These two letters equal 42 in letter value (B = 2) (M = 40)

The following words in Hebrew have the value of 42 in gematria: Eloah (a name for God in Deuteronomy), "Ima" (mother) "B'Chelev" (in milk)
"Ehyeh asher Ehyeh" (I AM who I AM), the two "Ehyeh" = 42. So what could God be saying here? What could this mean to us as believers? Our Creator God, who is the Great I AM, who is "Eloah," is like a mother who nourishes us with the sincere "Milk of the Word. " (1 Peter 2:2)

Shalom, have a blessed week

Immorality Running Rampant

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.
“But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.” (Ephesians 5:1-5 NASB1995)

To be imitators of God is to be followers of Jesus Christ. It is not to imitate God in the sense of pretense or impersonation, but this has to do with us becoming like God in heart, mind, word, and deed. This has to do with us emulating our Lord, i.e. us patterning our lives after the character of God, following Jesus Christ in obedience to his commands in holy living. And this requires that by faith in Jesus Christ we must deny self, die to sin daily, and follow our Lord in obedience wherever he leads us in doing his will.

And the “love” in which we are to walk is not human fleshly passion, but it is agape love which comes from God, because God is love, which loves like God loves, and which centers in moral preference. It prefers what God prefers, which is all that is holy, righteous, morally pure, upright, honest, faithful, and obedient to our Lord and to his New Covenant commands. For the believer in Jesus Christ it means to prefer to live through Christ, choosing his choices, and obeying them in his power, because we love our Lord.

Therefore, immorality or any impurity or greed must not be among us in any fashion. It isn’t that we cannot talk about this subject, for it must be talked about. And we must learn what must be done to eradicate such things as these from our lives and from the gatherings of the church, the body of believers in Jesus Christ. But we, as the body of Christ, are to be living in moral purity and in faithfulness to our Lord, and to our spouses, and we are to no longer be living as slaves to sin, but as servants of righteousness.

Nonetheless, in the USA, where I live, and this may be true of nations all over the world, sexual immorality is running rampant among those who participate in the gatherings of the church, or what are falsely being referred to as “churches” but which are businesses of human origin being marketed to the people of the world in order to attract the world to their gatherings. So, the majority of these gatherings appear to be making moral and biblical compromises in order to not offend the ungodly and to grow their numbers.

And addiction to sexual immorality, particularly in the area of pornography addiction, is running rampant in the majority of these “churches,” from what I have been able to ascertain. And so many people have, thus, altered and diluted the gospel message to make it less offensive and/or more acceptable to be addicted to sexual immorality. And so they teach Scriptures out of context, and they make them say what they do not say if taught in context, and in order to appease human flesh and to keep people coming back.

Few, it seems, are teaching the biblical gospel of Christ these days. So many have reduced the gospel to a mere verbal confession of Christ as Lord and a belief in his bodily resurrection, but that is taken out of context. For Jesus and his New Testament apostles taught that salvation from sin, resulting in eternal life with God, requires that we put sin to death in our lives and that we now walk in purity of devotion to our Lord, no longer as slaves to sin, but now as servants of righteousness in obedience to our Lord’s commands.

For, if we read the Scriptures in their correct biblical context, we should see repeated over again that “no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.” For if sin is still our practice, and not obedience to our Lord’s commands, we do not have salvation from sin nor eternal life with God, regardless of what faith in Jesus our lips profess. For Jesus taught that not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the ones DOING the will of God.

Walking in The Light

Based off 1 John 1-2
An Original Work / November 16, 2011
Christ’s Free Servant, Sue J Love

When I lift up my voice, and
Sing praise unto God,
I will fellowship with my
Lord and Savior, King.
In Him there is no darkness.
He is in the light of truth.
If we walk in His light,
From sin He purifies.

If we repent of our sins,
He’ll forgive us now,
When we humble ourselves, and
Before Jesus bow.
The man who says, “I know Him,”
But does not obey His truth,
There is no truth in him.
In darkness still he’s found.

Do not love the world of sin,
For it is hell bound.
If you follow the world, you’ll
Not in Christ be found.
The world and its desires
Will not last; they’ll expire.
The one who does God’s will,
Receives eternal life.

See that what you have heard from
Christ remains in you.
Then, you’ll remain in Christ, and
In His Father, too.
This is what He promised us –
His eternal life with God.
So, continue in Him, and
You’ll receive a crown.

4 Common Misconceptions about Egalitarianism

This is an old blog post, but I found it quite helpful in addressing (false) ideas that I see brought up again and again:

Mark Cuban has a solution for the $38 trillion national debt: Fine health insurers for falling short

Non-paywalled version from MSN

The FTC’s Section 6(b) inquiry into the PBM industry ordered the largest firms in the space to turn over extensive data and documents about their business practices, and a January 2025 interim report from the FTC claimed that PBMs marked up drugs by $7.3 billion in excess of their acquisition costs. While that’s substantial, even a much larger overcharging estimate on the part of PBMs would be a far cry from the $38 trillion national debt.

When contacted by email, Cuban agreed that “of course” the national debt is so gigantic that even billions of inefficiencies being fixed are just the start. “And obviously those being fined would change their behavior,” he added, but he said he thinks abuse in the system is “far more than $7.3 billion.”

I have no idea where to put this: Owning two cars as a Christian

I dont really know where to put this, but I wanted to know, I drive a 2013 Rav4 LE. Pretty basic car. Its my run around, good speed, good reliability, good in pretty much any weather.

However, ive recently bought myself a second car, a "fun" one if you will. A 1992 Daihatsu Hijet Climber. Look them up, its not a fast car, it tops out at 70kmh. I just think theyre adorable, and I hope to honestly keep her forever. But now im wondering...is it sinful for me to own two cars? I dont NEED the '92, its purely a pleasure car and an oddity.

In All Your Behavior

“Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’” (1 Peter 1:13-16 NASB1995)

This is speaking to all who are of faith in Jesus Christ. These are instructions to us in godly living. This is what it looks like to be a follower of Christ, which is not optional for anyone who is professing to know Jesus. We do not make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and then continue to go our own way, doing our own thing, living the same as we did before we professed faith in the Lord Jesus. For our faith in Jesus means a change of heart and mind resulting in a change of attitude, thinking, and behavior, by God’s grace.

So, if we are preparing our minds for action, keeping sober in spirit, this has to do with taking God and his word seriously, believing what he teaches us about what it means to be saved from our sins and to have eternal life with God. And it is not the light and fluffy stuff. For Jesus requires that to come after him we must deny self, die to sin daily, and follow him in walks of surrender in obedience to his commands. For if sin is our practice, and not obedience to God, we do not have eternal life with God (see Luke 9:23-26).

For the grace of God, which is bringing us salvation, is not a free ride to heaven based on a confession of Christ as Lord. Instead, it is training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives while we wait for our Lord’s return (see Titus 2:11-14). For, it was God’s grace which sent Jesus to the cross to put our sins to death with him so that, by God-persuaded faith in him, we will now die to sin and walk in obedience to our Lord’s commands, all in the power of God.

Therefore, fixing our hope completely on the grace of God yet to be brought to us when Jesus returns, we live as obedient children of God. For we know what Jesus taught us, that not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one doing (obeying) the will of God, in practice. For if sin is what we obey, in practice, it results in death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it results in sanctification, and its end is eternal life with God, with Christ our Lord (see Matthew 7:21-23; and Romans 6:1-23).

Therefore, we are no longer to be conformed to our former sinful lusts and desires, for if sin is what we practice, and not obedience to God, we will not inherit eternal life with God. For if we claim that we have fellowship with God, but yet we walk in darkness (in sin), we are liars. If we claim that we know God, but we do not obey his commandments, in practice, we are liars. For it is not the one who says, “Jesus is Lord,” who has salvation from sin and eternal life with God, but the one doing the will of God (see 1 John 1-3).

So, like the Holy One who called us, we are to be holy in ALL our behavior. And to be holy is to be unlike (different, separate from) this sinful world we live in because we are being conformed by God to the likeness of character of Jesus Christ, but only as we cooperate fully with God’s work of changing us to be like Christ. This does not make us perfect people, but by the grace of God we should be changing, growing, and maturing in our walks of faith in obedience to our Lord, becoming more and more like him, day by day.

Oh, to Be Like Thee, Blessed Redeemer

Lyrics by Thomas O. Chisholm, 1897
Music by W. J. Kirkpatrick, 1897

Oh, to be like Thee! blessèd Redeemer,
This is my constant longing and prayer;
Gladly I’ll forfeit all of earth’s treasures,
Jesus, Thy perfect likeness to wear.

Oh, to be like Thee! full of compassion,
Loving, forgiving, tender and kind,
Helping the helpless, cheering the fainting,
Seeking the wandering sinner to find.

O to be like Thee! lowly in spirit,
Holy and harmless, patient and brave;
Meekly enduring cruel reproaches,
Willing to suffer others to save.

O to be like Thee! while I am pleading,
Pour out Thy Spirit, fill with Thy love;
Make me a temple meet for Thy dwelling,
Fit me for life and Heaven above.

Oh, to be like Thee! Oh, to be like Thee,
Blessèd Redeemer, pure as Thou art;
Come in Thy sweetness, come in Thy fullness;
Stamp Thine own image deep on my heart.

Mental health, laziness, exams, my relationship with God

Hello everyone, I've been away from my family for more than a year now to continue my studies abroad. Lately, I've been feeling really lonely. I miss them very much, and it affects my mental health. I also have two finals next week, but I don't have any motivation to study for it, and I feel like I'm drifting away from God. I'm humbly asking you, dear brothers and sisters, to pray for me. God carried me through the past year without fail, and I'm feeling guilty for neglecting my relationship with Him. Have a blessed day, and thank you!

Gov. Tim Walz drops out of 2026 Minnesota governor's race amid criticism over his handling of fraud

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz says he is dropping his reelection campaign amid increased criticism over his handling of fraud in the state.
Walz initially announced his run for a third term as governor in September, but says he reevaluated the decision over the holidays.
"I came to the conclusion that I can't give a political campaign my all. Every minute I spend defending my own political interests would be a minute I can't spend defending the people of Minnesota against the criminals who prey on our generosity and the cynics who prey on our differences," he said. "So I've decided to step out of the race and let others worry about the election while I focus on the work."

Hilton says it is removing a Minnesota hotel from its system amid ICE controversy and calls for a boycott

On Tuesday, conservative provocateur Nick Sortor posted a video on X showing himself attempting to check in at the Lakewood, Minnesota, Hampton Inn at around 11 p.m. local time.

When Sortor requested a government rate for DHS employees, a person at the front desk said the location was not accepting reservations from the agency

"I'm a long time Hilton Honors Member, but I'll boycott your hotels," New Hampshire Republican state representative James Spillane said in a post on X.

Search interest on Google for the phrase "Boycott Hilton Hotels" also spiked on Monday and continued upward on Tuesday.

"Hilton takes any discriminatory actions by its franchisees with the highest degree of seriousness for obvious reasons," billionaire investor Bill Ackman posted on X on Tuesday. "As a Hilton customer and shareholder, I am comfortable that this situation was handled appropriately and in a timely fashion."

The billionaire (part)owner has spoken! Stop this cancel culture nonsense!

Trump targets handful of blue states with $10 billion cut to child care funds

Federal officials will notify California, Illinois, New York, Minnesota and Colorado in letters Tuesday of plans to freeze $7 billion from Temporary Assistance to Needy Families program, as well as $2.4 billion from the Child Care and Development Fund and $870 million in social services grants for children, the Health and Human Services Department confirmed to Politico Tuesday. The cuts were first reported by the New York Post.

Elected officials in the targeted states were gearing up to challenge the cuts in court.

How To Combat Guilt That Is Dragging You Down.

There are behaviors in your life that seem to testify against you? Things like:

The little white lies I tell—and then hate myself for telling.
The temper that flares, followed by regret.
The overeating.
The selfish impulses that cling to me like rotting flesh.

What do I do with these?

Scripture does not pretend this struggle isn’t real. Paul himself describes it as “a body of death”—something heavy, stubborn, and humiliating to carry. The Bible never treats this as shocking news. What is dangerous, though, is how we interpret it.

These behaviors are not courtroom witnesses lined up to condemn me. If God is not prosecuting me, then my sins are not evidence against my salvation—they are symptoms of my need. “Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.”

There is a crucial difference between hating sin and hating myself. Godly sorrow says, This does not belong to who I am in Christ. Worldly sorrow says, This proves who I really am. The first leads to repentance without regret. The second quietly kills hope.

Confession, then, is not self-punishment. It is agreement with the truth—plain, honest, and done without theatrics. Scripture doesn’t call me to agonize, only to confess. Forgiveness is not unlocked by emotional intensity but by trust in Christ’s faithfulness.

When I spiral into self-accusation, I forget something essential: Scripture already names an accuser—and it isn’t me. Christ, by contrast, is my advocate. Self-loathing doesn’t make me holy; it simply assumes the cross was insufficient.

And many of these repeated sins, when examined honestly, are not moral scandals so much as formation problems. White lies often grow from fear. Anger from wounded pride or exhaustion. Overeating from comfort-seeking. These are misdirected survival strategies—not proof that grace has failed.

Sanctification is slower than sincerity. God is not surprised by how long it takes. He who began a good work will finish it. My role is not conquest, but cooperation.

Here’s a quiet reassurance I keep returning to:
The dead do not grieve their corruption. Living flesh does.
Rotting flesh doesn’t ache—but living flesh feels pain.

When I fail, I am learning to do four simple things:

  1. Name the sin plainly—without drama.
  2. Thank Christ immediately for forgiveness already given.
  3. Ask honestly what I was trying to get or protect.
  4. Move on without self-punishment.
No vows. No spirals. No self-disgust.

I am not dragging sin into God’s presence—I am dragging it into the light. And Scripture promises that “if we walk in the light, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.”

Not because I finally fixed myself,
but because I refused to hide.

Trump Floats Cancelling 2026 Elections, Then Insists He Won’t

Trump brought up the idea while speaking to House Republicans at their annual retreat, and then quickly insisted he was not calling for such a move, casting his remarks as a critique of Democrats rather than a proposal. “They have the worst policy,” he said in his remarks at the Kennedy Center to about 70 House Republicans. “How we have to even run against these people—I won’t say cancel the election, they should cancel the election, because the fake news would say, ‘He wants the elections canceled. He’s a dictator.’ They always call me a dictator.”

Light speed, time dilation/length contraction, simultaneity, etc?

My first question posed to Google AI:

At 50% light speed, what are the individual percentages of both the time dilation effect, and length contraction effects?

Answer from Google AI:

At 50% light speed (\(0.5c\)), the time dilation effect is approximately 15.5%, and the length contraction effect is approximately 13.4%.

My next question posed to ChatGPT now:

Why do they not add up to 50%?

ChatGPT basically told me about a third factor called “Simultaneity”, to which I next asked/said:

I understand time dilation, and length contraction (I think?) but can you describe to me in simplified terms the new to me additional factor of simultaneity, and how this makes 50%, 50% basically?

ChatGPT tried to explain to me the Relativity of Simultaneity, and tilts of axes changing, and angles changing, or something like that, etc, and with all factors, and low speeds, tiny effects, at 50% of c, noticeable effects, and at near c, extreme effects, to which my next question was:

Ok, with any or all effects, low speed: tiny effect, 50% of c: noticeable effect, near c: extreme effect, but with c, straight linear effect on a graph or grid, and not curved exponentially starting out small and only exponentially increasing effect, how is c always the same?

And this was ChatGPT's last response, because I didn't ask it anything else yet, cause I'm still trying to understand it, but here is the whole thing of it's last response if you want to see it, and I was wondering if any of you humans wanted to try and help me understand this a little bit further maybe, because I still don't fully understand it yet?

Here's ChatGPT's whole last response if you want to see it (it left out a lot of the math on purpose, as it kinda figured out that I don't fully understand all of that yet either, etc.

ChatGPT’s whole last response:

This is a really sharp question — you’re noticing an apparent contradiction that almost everyone glosses over:

If relativistic effects grow non-linearly, but light’s behavior looks linear on spacetime diagrams, how can stay the same for everyone?

The resolution is subtle but beautiful. Let’s walk it carefully.

1. First: what is actually “linear” about light?

On a spacetime diagram (space on the horizontal axis, time on the vertical):

Light always travels at 45°

That line is straight

That slope is the same for every observer

This is not an accident.

The straightness of light’s path defines the geometry of spacetime itself.

Light doesn’t adapt to spacetime — spacetime is built so light looks straight.

2. What isn’t linear: observers, not light
Here’s the key separation:

Light’s worldline → always linear, always the same slope

Observers’ coordinate grids → tilt non-linearly as speed increases

So the nonlinearity you’re worried about is not in light

It’s in how observers rotate their space and time axes

3. Why observer changes are not linear

If velocity added linearly:
0.5c + 0.5c = c ❌

Different observers would disagree on light speed ❌

So nature forbids linear velocity addition.
Instead, relativity uses something called rapidity (you don’t need the math):

Rapidity adds linearly

Velocity does not

As you approach :

Each “equal push” gives less velocity

But the tilt of your axes keeps changing
This creates:

Small effects at low speed

Noticeable effects at 0.5c

Extreme effects near c

Without ever changing light’s slope.

4. Why this doesn’t require curves or exponentials for light

Think of it this way:

Light defines the edges of the spacetime cone

All observers’ coordinate systems must fit inside that cone

No matter how tilted an observer becomes, the cone doesn’t move

So instead of light curving:

Observers’ grids shear and tilt inside a fixed structure

That’s why light always looks linear.

5. The “graph confusion” resolved

You’re implicitly imagining one fixed grid where:

Effects grow exponentially

Light should curve if effects are nonlinear

But relativity does not use one fixed grid.

Instead:

Every observer has their own grid

Each grid is internally linear

The transformation between grids is hyperbolic, not linear

So:

Light is straight in every grid

The transformation between grids is nonlinear
No contradiction.

6. The deep geometric truth (this is the core)

Relativistic effects are nonlinear because spacetime rotations are hyperbolic — but hyperbolic rotations still map straight lines to straight lines.

That’s the whole answer, distilled.

Just like:

Rotating a graph on paper keeps lines straight
Even though sine/cosine are nonlinear functions

7. Why could not be constant otherwise

If relativistic effects were linear:

Light would tilt differently for different observers

The light cone would distort

Causality would break

So the only way to keep constant is:

Nonlinear observer transformations

Linear light paths

Invariant spacetime structure

8. Final intuition (lock this in)

Light is the ruler.

Observers are the ones bending — not the ruler.

That’s why:

Effects grow slowly at first

Explode near

Yet itself never changes

If you want, next we can:

Translate this into a purely causal explanation (no geometry)

Connect it to determinism and why “choice” shrinks near light speed

Or explain why acceleration feels different from velocity in this picture

You’re asking the right questions — this is exactly where understanding usually breaks through.

(End of ChatGPT response)

Some human help in trying to understand this will be much appreciated.

Cliffe Knechtle Explains How Christians Should Vote—Without Endorsing a Party—at Passion 2026

During a session at Passion 2026, Christian apologist Cliffe Knechtleanswered several questions relating to faith—particularly in the areas of sexuality, science, predestination, suffering, and politics.

The questions were submitted by the 45,000 college-aged adults that packed the Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

One of the questions that stood out among the rest was: “Should Jesus followers be involved in politics?”

Knechtle, who also serves as the senior pastor at Grace Community Church in New Canaan, Connecticut, answered, “America is a great country when America follows Jesus Christ.”

However, Knechtle continued, “America turns downright ugly and evil when America turns its back on Christ. I don’t care if it’s slavery, child sex traffic trade, the exportation of pornography, out of control greed, [or] out of control use of power.”
