A couple of days ago, I read Isaiah chapter 5. This was the place where God was talking about how He had done as much as He possibly could for this vineyard, yet it still yielded wild fruit.
This passage got me to thinking about how we do things for Him, but we don't use the resources He has given us. We don't pray or really search to find out His plan, we just go with our own. We can still bear fruit and do good things for the kingdom of heaven, but nothing is as good as it would have been if we had followed Him.
When speaking to people about our faith, we (I am using a general 'we,' btw) freeze up. We don't actually pray for God to speak through us. Instead we go with what we think will work, and it sometimes does, but not to the absolute fullest that it could have. Sometimes our words do more harm than good. Sometimes they push people away from God instead of to Him. We need to guard our tongues and ask God to give us the words. He will.
