The book is almost done. Only ten or twenty pages left. Now I have to start thinking about the essay. I could discuss the book freely, give my thoughts on the theme, the purpose for the novel, how I felt about the book, give support for my ideas. But when it comes to essays, especially timed ones (which this one is not, thankfully), I can't seem to get my ideas down with the fluency needed. That is what knocked me down on the MTUS writing test. I still scored fairly highly, but it would have been better if I was better at transitions between paragraphs and vocabulary usage. What is the point of using fancy words when simple ones will do? Not that I don't like using words, but we shouldn't have to be graded on which ones we use. It is kind of ridiculous to me, but maybe that is just because I am over school at this point.
Speaking of which, it is time to head to the bus.
