  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

2 Timothy 3:1-5,12-15 ESV “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control...
A great Temptation See Jesus as happy, overflowing with joy. Rejoice with him as with a friend who has triumphed. They killed him, the holy one, the just one, the innocent one, but he triumphed in the end. Evil does not have the last word. Nor will it have the last word in your life, for you...
The writer of Hebrews, which some people believe to be Paul, was writing here explaining the difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. And then he encouraged the believers in Jesus Christ, because of what Jesus Christ did for us on that cross, to draw near to God with true hearts...
Romans 15:15-20 ESV “But on some points I have written to you very boldly by way of reminder, because of the grace given me by God to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by...
Romans 15:1-7 ESV “We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, ‘The reproaches of those who reproached you fell...

The small flowing creek had to be from a few small springs along that mountain range near the base. Creek vegetation such as lycopods and small ulval green algae grew all along it, and the small pine trees near it, where the mountain had shade over much of it a lot of the time. Beyond that to...
John 10:22-30 ESV “At that time the Feast of Dedication took place at Jerusalem. It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the colonnade of Solomon. So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, ‘How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.’...
John 10:7-15 ESV “So Jesus again said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The...
So, I began this morning reading and writing about John 9:1-41. But it was such a long passage of Scripture that it ended up being divided into four sections, and this last section is “the best part,” I believe. But let me first give a synopsis of what has taken place so far. Jesus healed a...
Jesus Christ had healed a man blind from birth. The Pharisees then began to question the man with regard to what Jesus did and to how the man was healed, and so the man answered their questions. But the Pharisees charged that Jesus was not from God because he healed the man on the Jewish...
Jesus Christ had just healed a man who was blind from birth. And he explained to his disciples that it was not the fault of the man or of his parents that he was born blind, but he was born blind that the works of God might be displayed in him. And that is a difficult concept for a lot of people...

John 8:48-59 ESV The Jews answered him, “Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?” Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon, but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me. Yet I do not seek my own glory; there is One who seeks it, and he is the judge. Truly, truly, I say...
I am reading in John 8 “So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, ‘If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’ They answered him, ‘We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you...

Ephesians 4:29-30 ESV “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” I use the dictionary a...
John 8:2-11 ESV “Early in the morning he came again to the temple. All the people came to him, and he sat down and taught them. The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst they said to him, ‘Teacher, this woman has been caught in...
Got a letter from a prisoner One of my faults in writing letters is that I tend to wait for a while before I write back. I was having a problem reaching a prisoner because they kept moving him, and so I got back three letters that were not forwarded. I kind of gave up, thinking, hopefully...
John 7:14-18 ESV “About the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and began teaching. The Jews therefore marveled, saying, ‘How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?’ So Jesus answered them, ‘My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. If anyone's will is to...
Summary of John 6:1-69 Jesus Christ had just miraculously fed five thousand people with five barley loaves and two fish. And the next day, the crowd who had been fed by him sought after Jesus to find him. And when they found him they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?” And Jesus...
