  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Lord's prayer was assembled by Jesus from bits and pieces from the OT. God's will from the start was that we put His will ahead of ours and scripture says Eve was the first to break that commandment. Man ever since (with examples throughout the Bible) has made putting our will first as our...
Psalms 1:1-2 ESV “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.” If we are blessed of the Lord, what does that...

It was getting dimmer as the group of fugitives went on yet further beyond that creek, and obstacles like small shrubs separated widely from each other, and some of the larger of small rocks, which they all watched for, became much less frequent as they went on, before it was much darker. There...
John 3:19-21 ESV “And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever...

Jesus is the Touchstone: Luke 16:23 And in Hades he lifts up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 1) Hades is defined as "The Grave" 2) Torment is defined as "The Touchstone" The Rich Man dies and is in torment. Is the torment a literal painful...
1 Corinthians 2:14 ESV “The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.” So what is meant here by “the natural person”? It appears to have to do with the human nature...
Psalms 2:1-2 ESV “Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying, ‘Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.’” The...
Frustration I would say that I am the cause of my greatest frustration in living out my monastic life. It is a human struggle of course, and I am certainly not alone in dealing with life and how I react to it. I suppose most of us are a wild combination of chaos and order. I don’t have wild...
Matthew 6:33 ESV “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” If you start reading this passage, beginning with verse 25, you will learn that Jesus is talking here about us not being anxious and worried and fearful about our lives, and...

God has been very Merciful to me. He freed me from things I thought would never be gone. All Praise and Glory does belong to Him only, the One True God. In the Holy and Powerful Name of Jesus. amen.
Hebrews 10:26-31 ESV “For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies...
I am being impressed of the Lord Jesus today to write a word of personal testimony. So, for some of you, this will be repetitious, while for others of you this may be new to you. I believe there is someone who will read this today who will need to hear this word of encouragement, and that is why...
1 John 2:1-6 ESV “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. And by...
2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” As followers of Jesus Christ we live under the New Covenant relationship...
