  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am reading in Mark 15 Jesus’ disciple Judas Iscariot had betrayed him to death. Jesus Christ was arrested and put on trial for a crime he did not commit. The people shouted, “Crucify him,” rather than to let him go free. And he was led away inside the palace by soldiers who then clothed him...
Mark 14:55-65 ESV “Now the chief priests and the whole council were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none. For many bore false witness against him, but their testimony did not agree. And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying, ‘We heard him...
Mark 14:17-21 ESV “And when it was evening, he came with the twelve. And as they were reclining at table and eating, Jesus said, ‘Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.’ They began to be sorrowful and to say to him one after another, ‘Is it I?’ He said to...
I have been reading in Mark 13:1-37. In summary: Jesus Christ had just been speaking to his disciples, warning them and instructing them with regard to the signs of the end of the age. So, he warned them of false christs, of liars and deceivers, of false prophets, and of many who would come in...

The others all hurried over to where Argon called from. Here a small stream of water poured out from among the rocks, and ran on from there, with small plants obscuring it further on. Each took turns to kneel by it and fill their water vessel. Deseradar said, "We all just came down that...
Praying has always been a fundamental part of Christianity. The word prayer (or a variation) is used over 300 times in the Bible, and when we examine the life of Christ, we see that he was in continual prayer and fellowship with the Father. Prayer is how we intentionally communicate with the...
Mark 13:9-13 ESV “But be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten in synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them. And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations. And when they bring you to...
Mark 12:1-11 ESV And Jesus Christ began to speak to them in parables. “A man planted a vineyard and put a fence around it and dug a pit for the winepress and built a tower, and leased it to tenants and went into another country. When the season came, he sent a servant to the tenants to get from...
Mark 11:15-18 ESV “And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. And he would not allow anyone to carry anything through...
Mark 10:2-9 ESV And Pharisees came up and in order to test him asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?” He answered them, “What did Moses command you?” They said, “Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce and to send her away.” And Jesus said to them, “Because of your...
Mark 9:42-48 ESV “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea. And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with...
The Pharisees and some of the scribes were criticizing Jesus’ disciples for eating with unwashed hands, for the Pharisees and all the Jews, in keeping with the tradition of the elders, did not eat unless they washed their hands properly, in a ceremonial manner, I believe. So Jesus said to them...

Throughout the history of mankind, we see a pattern emerge. A pattern that outwardly can seem very harsh and sometimes even cruel. Man sins, and persists in his sin. The Lord is gracious and patient with them. Showing them love in the hopes that His kindness will lead them back to Him in...
Mark 3:31-35 ESV “And his mother and his brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him. And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, ‘Your mother and your brothers are outside, seeking you.’ And he answered them, ‘Who are my mother and my brothers?’ And...
Mark 3:20-22 ESV “Then he went home, and the crowd gathered again, so that they could not even eat. And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, ‘He is out of his mind.’ And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, ‘He is possessed by Beelzebul,’...
