"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39
Amen, and Amen!

Second this- It's very hard to limit to 1 verse. This is certainly in my top 5."For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation, for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, whether principalities or powers all things were created through him and for him.He himself is before all things and all things are held together in him.He is the head of the body, the church, as well as the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead, so that he himself may become first in all things. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in the Son and through him to reconcile all things to himself by making peace through the blood of his cross through him, whether things on earth or things in heaven. And you were at one time strangers and enemies in your minds as expressed through your evil deeds, but now he has reconciled you by his physical body through death to present you holy, without blemish, and blameless before him" Colossians 1:15-22![]()

(all NIV)K, just for you, because I am curious to know, and I like changing the rules as I go along. What are your top five?![]()
Right now...(all NIV)
1) This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. I John 1:5
2) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ohn 3:16
3) Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
Matthew 22:37-39
4) Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding; Proverbs 3:5
5) For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
OK, I fudged even getting it to 5 , because 2 of my quotes are more than one verse, but they can't be separated and still make sense.
To me these 5 passages sum up what God is and what He is like, what He did, what I'm supposed to do in response, and an affirmation of my faith.

Toughie! Loads I could have picked (everyone else got there before me!) but this one from Matthew is another that gives me goosebumps:
"But what about you?" he (Jesus) asked. "Who do you say I am?"
Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Matthew 16 vs 15-16
I have one verse of the Bible which I meditate on a lot, to the extent that I think it has defined my faith, and indeed my whole theology. I am forever quoting it on this forum.I suspect that others may have their own favourites, and would be interested to know what these verses may be.
This might seem an odd verse, but here it is. The context is Moses asking to be shown God's glory
Exodus 33 v 19
Then He said, "I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion"
When you place this statement alongside the character and example of Christ, you can see the fulfillment of Our Lord's claim that he and his Father are one and the same. It also reminds us that we cannot judge, because God's mercy is beyond our understanding.
So, any other verses? Thanks.![]()
