Ah, here we go. Please offer up, what you perceive, as the best prophecy?
Definition of powerful
1: having great power, prestige, or influence, a powerful leader
The Bible is extremely (uncannily...extra-ordinarily so) prestigious, influential, etc...
And then I gave a verse which not only speaks of itself being so, but demonstrates it as such.
Thanks for offering up the dictionary definition of the word. Can't humans alone write powerful, and even 'gripping' words of inspiration, passages, tales, and stories?
I again ask, is it even possible Hebrews could have been written by mere humans alone? If not, why not?
I asked for your 'best'. Not 28
What is the one which seems to 'best' demonstrate that of 'beyond human capabilities' the most for you?
"Humans alone"? No, because it is "God-Breathed":
2 Timothy 3:16
"every Writing is God-breathed, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for setting aright, for instruction that is in righteousness,"
2 Timothy 3:16
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"
(Emphasis Mine)
Humans have their own human-breathed writings that are quite powerful, gripping, and even profound. And this is not surprising since all breath is ultimately of His Breath...without Him we can do nothing. This is why we cannot boast in what we have only received.
1 Corinthians 4:7
"7For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?"
I am wondering if you'll never be able to understand without faith. We have help, because of faith. You again avoid my question. This is not 'humble'. It's just sad. You are directly avoiding my observations, likely on purpose....
In post #30, you state, and I quote:
"We have to put God first, and if we really do, then we will love our brothers and sisters and care about them."
How does this align with Matthew 25:31-46? If you see a bum in the rain, do you offer them your house as shelter? Do you love them as yourself? More often than not, I sincerely doubt it. If it was your relative or a friend, I bet you'd stop and helpAs the Verses dictate, avoidance in these actions displeases God, as you are not only violating your fellow 'man', but it looks to violate God directly.
You then go on to state in post #30:
"We aren't saved because we do good works. But if we are saved and continue to follow Him, we begin more and more to do good works."
This is in direct conflict with Matthew 25:31-46. I can demonstrate...
Does God consider you a sheep or a goat? And please continue to remember, a believer could very well be deemed a goat.
The fact I can ask this repeated question IS the contradiction.
your assertion is that ALL writings are ultimately given by God, because God is our creator?
What do you specifically perceive this Verse to mean? And why could this Verse not be written by humans alone?
I am wondering if you'll never be able to understand without faith. We have help, because of faith.
I can give you explanation quotes, like "We are saved by faith alone, but the faith that saves is never alone." But this is like a summary of an understanding. How can the understanding ever occur without faith.
To have a chance at faith, the path I know (Romans 10:17) is to start by reading Christ's words with a true listening.
Well, all writings that are breathed truly, since He is the source of all truth. Not all writings are breathed truly.
How do you discern which words are not 'breathed truly' from God?
It is referred to as "the first gospel". When it speaks of the "Seed of the woman", this can only mean the virgin birth. I mean, for thousands of years, this was an obscure verse and I don't know of any other mention of it in the Bible except in its fulfillment.
They are not organic. You can't look out your window and see them in "the natural things of creation". They are usually dependant on pure abstraction.
So because the Bible mentions an upcoming virgin birth, it had to be given by God?
I again ask you, because you did not answer... Is it POSSIBLE that this verse was written by humans alone, with no help from the 'breath of God'?
Furthermore, what evidence do we have, which demonstrates that Jesus was born of a virgin?
Well, it is Elohim Himself Who sets the parameters:
Isaiah 46:10
"Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,’"
And the fact that such foresight would require a kind of time travel, reinforces it. He says, "Look, I'm telling you this now, just sit back and watch it unfold." And then it does.
I don't see anything like this that is done by "humans alone".
*Not that spans thousands of years.
'Deepidy alert'
Let's try this again....
How do you discern which words are not 'breathed truly' from God?
I will ask you again, what evidence suggests that Jesus was born of a virgin?????
Sometimes it's okay to go deep.
