Read it any way you like. I'm just saying what tha Bible says, not what men say the Bible says.

No, you are reading your own twisted meanings into them. You, a man, doing the very thing you condemn others for.

Jesus had a word for people who do that. Do you know what it is?;)

Luke 23:43

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

In the original manuscripts there was no puctuation or even spaces between the words.

In other words there were no commas.

The comma in this verse has been put in the wrong place.

But your a man telling others what the Bible says. So if you were consistent in the application of your standard, and applied it back upon yourself you would realize that there is no reason we should believe you, since men who tell others what the Bible says are apparently not to be trusted, according to you.

So when a Christian dies, where does the Word says he is?
He goes into the grave, where he awaits Christ's second coming. He awaits in the grave knowing nothing until woken by Jesus on judgement day. On that day if he is in the book of life, he will receive eternal life in God's Kingdom.

If he is not in the book of life, he will be cast into the lake of fire, which is the second death.

I'm curious: why does it matter? In the end don't we end up with Jesus wherever He is?
So other then a need to show others they're wrong and you're right what's the point of this thread? :sorry:
tulc(always curious about things like that...and what's up with all the pretty colors?) :)

He goes into the grave

The body goes to the grave.

The spirit enters into the Presence of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5

1 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, 3 if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. 4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

, where he awaits Christ's second coming. He awaits in the grave knowing nothing until woken by Jesus on judgement day. On that day if he is in the book of life, he will receive eternal life in God's Kingdom.

See the above.

That's cute but do you have anything by way of scripture that contradicts what he is saying?
Yes, but I don't need it. He is inconsistent in his reasoning and the application of his reasoning. If he won't be consistent in how he applies his standard, how can we believe anything he says? He says that men who tell others what the Bible says are not to be trusted. He is telling us not to trust him.
