Where can I find this "the just man falls seven times a day"? I don't think I have heard it before.
Do you love anyone with all your heart? Have you been completely obedient to that person?
It’s not a simple “here’s a verse” theology. But ask yourself, if the command is perfection, and you cannot be perfect, how do you expect to make it to heaven?Ok, if this is true, can you show me somewhere in the Bible where Jesus says what he is telling us to do is for us to rely on His works?
I’m saying that when you sin against someone, it’s evidence that you aren’t loving them with all of your heart.
Jesus says with all heart, soul and mind. I don't think I have done that, except possibly God.

Myself! LOL.
Some people even take that idea to an antinomian extreme. They'll say that they are not even bound to follow God's commands, things like "Jesus paid the price so that I don't have to" and so forth.Ok, if this is true, can you show me somewhere in the Bible where Jesus says what he is telling us to do is for us to rely on His works?
I think I was quite clear.Love has nothing to do with the heart literally, it’s a figure of speech. Love does not derive from the heart. So are you suggesting that we never fully love anyone or are you suggesting that our love for others fluctuates?

Well I don't think this analogy holds because your wife and children will ask you for things that are not good, and which should be refused. God will never do that. This is really discouraging brother. I honestly don’t know what you were implying. I’m just trying to find out so I can reply accordingly. So I’ll just reply to both situations. I honestly can’t measure the love I have for my wife & children for example. There’s no limit to my love for them. I can’t say that I love you this far or this much because nothing can really emphasize the magnitude of love I have for them and yet they’ve asked me to do things and I’ve said no sometimes. I never loved them less for any second of my life and my refusal to comply with their request was not due to any lack of love. So I see your assessment in this thread as being incorrect because I couldn’t possibly love my family any more than I already do and I guarantee you that I will refuse to do things they say sometimes. That right there tells me that your suggestion that if we truly love God we will be perfectly obedient to Him is incorrect.

But maybe you can flesh out your analogy a bit with some specific examples?
So when you sin against God, are you saying that you love Him with all your heart at that instant? This is really discouraging brother. I honestly don’t know what you were implying. Can we, in our fallen-but-redeemed state here on Earth, love God with all of our heart? Or does our flesh prevent us from doing so?
