The Club of Rome is the world's most prestigious think tank -- (or it was back in the '70s, anyway).Perhaps you might consider getting scientific facts from the actual scientists studying those problems rather than the media. It kind of helps when one is able to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Does it matter? a scientist is a scientist is a scientist.So, what scientists, that is climate scientists, the people who actually do the science, not the media and politicians; are coming up with a doomsday plot.
