I would say those who take tradition over the truth of Scripture..
Like protestants don't have tradition. Baptism as an outward sign (no scripture) The Lord's Supper just a memorial(no scripture) Pre-trib rapture (no real scripture) Dispensations of time (no scripture) Altar calls (no scripture) The sinner's prayer (no scripture)
Ya got tradition a plenty.

Being baptized with water is an outward sign. It is a physical event. Just as Jesus said. Do this in rememberance of me.. memorial.. Dispensations of time? Alter calls? Sinners prayer?

Pick it up daily, not put one around your neck as eye candy?
Good view. Pick up your cross and follow HIm
:amen::amen::amen:
Some folks say of 'their illness' that it's their cross to bear.
Yet a cross is something we must CHOOSE to pick up.
Can't choose to "pick up illness"
Hmmmm

All things work for good, my illnesses have reached their potential and have blessed me greatly, my heart and mind has been healed through bodily suffering, because the body was a red flag that told me that i needed my heart and mind healed. But now i no longer need it, i wouldn't mind a little healing in my body now, but may his will be done and not my own, if i die tomorrow i will die a happy man, the Lord healed what needed healed most.

2Co 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

The cross worn around the neck is indeed a reminder and martyria (witness) of/to exactly this: to pick up our cross and follow Him. It also is a witness to Christ Himself

(A young man was martyred in the 90s for refusing to take off his cross; in this he refused to deny Christ.)

But indeed we can choose to "pick up an bear" our illness !

Illness can define us, overwhelm us, become our focus - just as death (our mortality) or any aspect of the "human condition" (like our passions, etc.) can define us, overwhelm us ...

Or we can pick it up willingly (bear it as cross in offering to God), and keep our focus on Christ and live in Him (despite our illness/condition).

Takes a great deal of grace (a gift from God) to do this; He provides.

I've never fully subscribed to the penal substitution dogma that the protestants created. Neither did the church for the first 1000 years of Christianity either.

I dont follow any man, politics or religion, i only follow Christ and the Kingdom.. Its easier that way ive learned

I agree. It just so happens the early church was right on this part.

.

I disagree that RC was the early Church but i have no other comment.

Pr 17:28 Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

Pr 21:19 ¶ It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
Pr 21:20 ¶ There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.
Pr 21:21 ¶ He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
Pr 21:22 ¶ A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.
Pr 21:23 ¶ Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

Ransom view of the atonement was correct, I mean. Whatever they called themselves is irrelevant.

Just so there is no misunderstanding, the woman in the Proverbs scripture that i posted represents the Church as far as im concerned, not just women, at least that's how im using it.. Have a good day, God bless.

An illness is not a choice.
You're welcome to embrace it, but it's not a choice for you
to either pick up or put down.
Me, I don't embrace it, I embrace liberty in all things.

Baptism and Communion are physical actions and can be construed as "outward signs" but scripture never calls either of them an outward sign. It is traditions that call them outward signs.

Jesus did say that communion (as expressed in the Lord's supper) ought to be done in remembrance of him. Yet he did not say it was an outward sign or some kind of public testimony did he?

Dispensationalism is one of the popular eschatological systems in current USA evangelicalism.

Altar calls were the stock & trade of Billy Graham "crusades" and are very common in congregations throughout the USA (and elsewhere). Of course no such things is present in the scriptures as part of the gospel which is to be preached throughout the world.

The "sinner's prayer" is included in the back of many KJV bibles and "The Four Spiritual Laws" tracts as well as many others. Of course there's no "sinner's prayer" in the inspired text of the bible, though many sinners do pray in the pages of the sacred text.

You are right. The cross (or crucifix) worn by a Christian is not "eye candy" and it can be a most costly witness leading to martyrdom in some cases - it ought not to be ridiculed as some have.

In the west among some groups wearing a cross may well be "eye candy" but we need not base our practise on what the world does to cheapen the sufferings of Christ.

Amen.

If only some folk would stop and consider their words before they voice them.

Many a Christian has borne suffering in injury and illness and done so as a testimony to God's grace in them. As a result of such testimonies many have come to the faith.

All things work for good,
Our God 'causes' all things to work for good.. Amen!

my illnesses have reached their potential and have blessed me greatly, my heart and mind has been healed through bodily suffering, because the body was a red flag that told me that i needed my heart and mind healed. But now i no longer need it,
Illness taught me how to fight and to stand strong against that killer.
Sickness and disease is from the pit.

i wouldn't mind a little healing in my body now, but may his will be done and not my own,
Thy will be done on earth :amen:
AS IT IS IN HEAVEN
What is His will on earth AS it IS in Heaven?
No sickness in Heaven fo shizzle.

Healing is the childrens bread!
(Give us this day our daily bread!)
Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper
and be in health, even as your soul prospers

His 'will' is that we prosper and be in health.
Heck, He even took sickness in the OLD covenant.
25 And ye shall serve the Lord your God,
and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water;

and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

if i die tomorrow i will die a happy man, the Lord healed what needed healed most.
Yeah this place isn't too pretty is it? lol
He healed me too and delivered me from all of my fears.
I was bound for years and I am now free
I spent most of Sunday weeping because my "Father's"
love is so overwhelming, it makes me weep!
