The Dungeons & Dragon phenemenon of the 70s shows that, when given a choice without weight, most people will tend to choose the dark side over the light.Which is fine. I think it's good to let people choose.
But if you word it that way, you're in essence saying that it is being taught because it won a popularity contest.
For kids to hear that E=mc[sup]2[/sup], then go down the hall and hear that "most people believe that God...", sends a signal to children that creationism is not on as solid a foundation as science; when, in fact, creationism is on a higher plane than science.
What is to be taught within physical sciences is intelligent design. It becomes necessary through the "scientific fact" of microbe-to-man phenomena.I actually think that's a mature decision. No one is going to stop scientific progress because a teacher mentions creationism or Mr. Jones down the street believes it. It's just saying "hey, there is a large portion that believes x, y, z".
I'm a bit confused as to the "other views" that other religions might present. I'm not for preaching christian creation at all, just the fact that some people believe there is deity creation vs. evolution, and the idea that some people believe a mixture of the two. I'm not sure what else there is as far as people believing how the earth came into being.... Maybe I'm missing something.
Not me. I always choose Paladin, or their equivalent in RPG games such as Templars, Knights, Crusaders.The Dungeons & Dragon phenemenon of the 70s shows that, when given a choice without weight, most people will tend to choose the dark side over the light.
frankly I find that safer than fighting the fight over which is right until it's proven 100% either way (either not being really appropriate for three choies).But if you word it that way, you're in essence saying that it is being taught because it won a popularity contest.

For the same reason George Washington is taught in schools. They were historical figures and there is ample evidence of their existence and achievements.Why is Christopher Columbus taught in public schools?
I know you don't like to hear it often, but that is because science (or rather, its demonstrated fields) is on a more solid foundation than creationism.For kids to hear that E=mc[sup]2[/sup], then go down the hall and hear that "most people believe that God...", sends a signal to children that creationism is not on as solid a foundation as science; when, in fact, creationism is on a higher plane than science.
Ok, intelligent design then.What is to be taught within physical sciences is intelligent design. It becomes necessary through the "scientific fact" of microbe-to-man phenomena.
Creationism is broad as it interacted and interacts with multiple aspects reality. It expands across multiple fields including history, physics, metaphysics, biology etc. But if you clump it up, materialists realize that they can avoid the drop. Instead of teaching the atomic structure in astronomy, you just say that micro-biology should be kept out of astronomy.
If I say molecules, you say molecular biology. When I say intelligent design, you say Creationism.

I get the impression you watched Mazes & Monsters with Tom Hanks!

I disagree -- Intelligent Design is one of Satan's tricks, in my opinion.Both are one and the same.
This junk about the eyeball, and how this, that, and the other thing is designed to do this, that, and the other thing is okay for those who are weak in the faith and need to walk by sight, I guess;

It places too much emphasis on seeing God in the physical universe and shipwrecks the faith.
This junk about the eyeball, and how this, that, and the other thing is designed to do this, that, and the other thing is okay for those who are weak in the faith and need to walk by sight, I guess; but if Intelligent Design is being used to kick-start someone's faith -- (so he doesn't have to crawl all his life) -- then that's even worse, as true faith comes by hearing the word of God, not McGraw-Hill.
Except for when that same eyeball is looking at words int he pages of the bible, right?

Bilge like this is how you justify to yourself wasting your time studying fairy stories instead of the real world, (which is also why you seem to be almost completely ignorant of the world you live in, shamefully).The truth is that bible creationism is an intellectual sewer of enforced ignorance and brainwashing, while science is an honest attempt to find out what is true. That you consider the more perverted of these two to be on a higher plane says a lot about what religion has done to your moral judgements.when, in fact, creationism is on a higher plane than science.
