Good post. And yes, if someone is willing to wear a hat promoting an open bigot and racist, then they don't get to act offended by the idea that they themselves are supporting a racist platform (regardless of their own personal racial views).

Black Lives Matter protested in support of an open bigot and racist...and they did it alongside racist hate groups.

Should we then assume Black Lives Matter themselves support racist ideas?

They are if they agree with him about stopping immigration from his '****hole' countries and more immigration from white northern European countries.
He wants to deport the DACA kids but his own wife was an illegal immigrant. Did he tell her to go home and reapply for status. He wants to stop family immigration but that's exactly how his wife's parents got here just a few years ago. But then they are white Europeans, not brown kids.

What exactly do we gain by taking care of people from so called "anal countries" for the rest of their lives?

I don't see how not wanting uneducated, poor, people with multiple children in your nation could be "racist".

Well, I of course don't attribute "Hope and Change" to black nationalism. However, the Black Panthers seem to suggest differently.

Black Panthers endorsed then Candidate Obama

Black Panthers intimidating white voters at the polling station with racial insults and threats.

President Obama with long time pastor Reverend Jeremiah Wright who famously saying "God D@#$ America the US of KKK their chickens have come home to roost" to support Black Nationalism. Later endorsing Obama and seeing him as the black leader who would finally bring whites to their knees.

Once again, I don't think "Hope and Change" had anything to do with racism or black nationalism. Furthermore, I would say that over 99% of people who supported and voted for Barrack Obama in 2008 didn't consider any racial overtones to "Hope and Change". It was only the extreme few.

The exact same thing applies to "Make America Great Again". I don't think "MAGA" has anything to to with racism or white nationalism. Furthermore, I would say that over 99% of people who supported and voted for Donald Trump in 2016 didn't consider any racial overtones to "MAGA". Only an extreme few.
You still didn't answer my question, how is hope and change a moniker of the black power movement? You posted a bunch of things that didn't answer the question.

So, you think that it's just about votes?

I think that a lot of liberals genuinely believe that if you're against illegal immigration...you're racist. Therefore, they support illegal immigration...because they don't want others to think they're racist.

It's as if they don't realize that's not an argument for illegal immigration.

The (D)'s would likely benefit from another blanket amnesty, but at present the constituency has gone far Left, open borders etc.

No Dems support open borders.

No Dems call people racist for being against illegal immigration.

More straw man arguments from the right wing.

You don't have to go that far back, just to when Hillary was a NY Senator she loves pay to play.
 What a bizarre response because I was referring to President Clinton and Senators don't have anything to do with doing business in New York state.

Some Democrat voters do. I've heard both sentiments here on CF. I don't know about Democrat politicians.

I see you making the allegation. I don't see any evidence.

And I take it that by "evil cult" you mean the GOP?

I don't conflate the GOP with Trumpism. Trumpism is as much a threat to the GOP and American conservatives a it is everyone else. When fascism wins, we all lose.

I've got no idea what "Trumpism" means, given that there is no actual "Trump party."

If you mean "ideas shared by Trump voters," it seems to reflect a combination of some traditional GOP policies with a desire for support of blue-collar workers.

To my naive mind, neither of those things sound unreasonable.

Oh yeah, what ever did the USA do for the 220+ years it existed without ICE? :bigeye:
tulc(shudders to think what would happen if it went away)

ICE came into the picture after the 9/11 attack. While the TSA are just as newly created important for frisking American children and grandmas in our airports (to prevent another attack) its nice to have some ground forces too. Why abolish ICE and not the TSA? Why so picky to just want to pick off the ground three letter agency?

Because their voting base uses that route

No one asked about TSA in the post I was responding to, all they asked about was ICE.
