  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Think about Abraham ;)

Think about giving me a direct answer.

If you don't know, simply state, I don't know

Theres nothing wrong with that. I'll repeat the question.

What of those who have NEVER heard of the gospel? They never had the choice. Humanity has existed roughly 100,000 to 250,000 years. What of those born before Christ

And that's your opinion.

What kind of nonsense statement is that? of course its my opinion, I wrote it!

It's Biblical doctrine.

It may your biblical doctrine, but by looking at other posts and threads on this forum I can clearly see it is not everyones. Seems everyone has their own interpretation.

Meaning that you offer no Biblical proof. Only YOUR opinion.

The eternal fire is taught in several places in the NT. It is not MY doctrine.

Actually I gave you plenty of information. Was Abraham saved or not?

Then tell us how all the wicked will be destroyed but they're not receiving the same punishment.
You said that your Granny was not wicked. I certain that Jesus will take this into account on Judgment Day.
“Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38‘And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 39‘When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40“The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’
Your Grandmother sounds like one of these people who were serving Christ without realizing it.

Good works do not save. Only faith in Jesus saves.

Impossible. And you are still evading the issue of all the lost receiving the exact same punishment.

What did I evade? You evaded the issue of everyone receiving the exact same punishment. YOUR personal translation does not overrule our English Bibles.
I agree with our english bibles, and I can read the NT in greek and I agree with that too. I don't agree with you, but that is only because you are not correct.

If you believe that Hitler and Granny will both be tortured in hell for all eternity, how is it that you say they will receive different punishments? Is it because your Grandmother died after 1945? What's a few years compared to eternity?

Then why do you continuously use YOUR translation?

Already answered that. Again!!! There will be different degrees of punishment for the lost according to what is written in God' Books. I.E. some places in Hell are worse, much worse.

I don't continuously use MY translation. I use NASB and NIV usually.

Scripture, please and thank you, for "Some places in Hell are worse, much worse." I believe that this is merely YOUR translation.

Yes, my opinion is my opinion. Take it or leave it.

They both strongly support eternal punishment in the fire.

A person who commits one sin in his life will not receive the same punishment as Hitler, as you are saying. There will have to be degrees of punishment. And therefore Hell will have to have worse areas.

Revelation 20:12 (NASB)
12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.

BTW, if you want to see "MY" translation, here it is. I never quote it though:

You've made it clear that YOUR translation disagrees with nearly every English Bible we have.

Revelation 14:9-11 (NASB)
9 Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 "And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."

That's not what I said. However...An eternity in hell's torment is equal to an eternity in hell's torment (if such a thing existed, but you say it does), So I'm not following your argument that under your system Hitler and your (mythological) Granny receive different punishments. I guess you are saying that Granny will be tortured forever in the nice section of hell. If I'm being tortured forever, I'm not really thinking "Oh, what nice wallpaper this is!"
You are telling me she has not had the chance to seek God?

Rom 11:14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them.

Heb 4:6
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

Act 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

Hitler, Stalin, Truman, all dictators, already have paid the penalty of death and will not see the face of God.

Act 3:23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Read it again.

Matthew 8:22 (NASB)
22 But Jesus *said to him, "Follow Me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead."

Remember 'The Green Mile' movie, where condemned convicts were considered to be a "Dead man walking"? Sometimes the term is simply prophetic, and that's how I would apply it here. It certainly doesn't say they are "spiritually dead" as you want to believe. I think you are reading 'spiritually' into the scripture and I am not.

Question, what do you believe is necessary for one to 'not be dead' spiritually?

So then, tell us, will Granny receive the exact same punishment as Hitler, destruction?

What is it that you are doing?

trying to enlighten you as to what the gospel actually says, not what another human being says that it says.

sounds more like dante than the bible, cause the bible states nowhere that there are varying degrees of fire in hell, this is just another made up idea by man, in an attempt to scare people into coming to God. another concept from pagan origins, and not scriptual.
and also makes people feel better about hell, cause 'grandma' wont suffer as much as hitler:doh: the fire will be only 200 degrees for 'grandma' and 200 billion for hitler.;)

Then what kind of 'dead' is it? The same as this:

Luke 15:24 (NASB)
24 for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.' And they began to celebrate.

Dead and alive at the same time.
