• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

and in regards to my faith, and whether im, as you say, 'born again', thats my business. i dont believe in titles and labels, as it appears you put much importance into....what someone may or may not label me is irrelevant. i could supply much scripture, but you seem to be the type that would not listen to anything i put up, as you seem to have your mind made up, so what point would there be to that?

This is a CHRISTIANS ONLY forum so it doesn't matter what YOU believe if you're not a Christian.

You keep saying you CAN supply, but you never do.

I'll let the moderators decide.

Psalm 37:10

English Standard Version (ESV)

10 In just a little while, the wicked will be no more;
though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there

heres a verse you can start with.....i read it just as the bible says it....the wicked will be no more....does no more mean something different to you?, apparently it does if you think the evil will suffer damnation without end, unfortunate for you, this bible verse completely contradicts what your interpretation of scripture says.

This context is in regards to physical death, NOT spiritual death.

decide what? i am a christian, i dont need you or anyone else telling me what i am or not, further, fyi, this is the undorthodox section, you can speak of unorthodox things here. just because i may or may not be what you consider a christian should look like, and speak like, doesnt make it so....my faith is of no concern to you, mind after your own....and you should be alright:thumbsup:

funny dollarsbill, thats not the response you gave me before, are you having a change of heart, i knew youd come around sooner or later.:kiss:
Eternal and forever are consistent. No change.

Matthew 25:46 (NASB)
46 "These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

your the one that said this, and didnt back it up with anything except spin.

now i agree w/ your interpretation of scripture regarding teh newness, as you put it, will not include evil, sin, death, etc...

what i am questioning is where in scripture do you conclude that it says the lake of fire will exist for eternity? and what is your idea/meaning of the lake of fire?

Well if you knew your bible like you pretend to, you would know it's in Rev 20:10

And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

psalms 37:20 But the wicked will perish;
the enemies of the Lord are like the glory of the pastures;
they vanish—like smoke they vanish away.

the chapter in psalms reiterates what happens to the wicked over and over, just to make it clearer......hmmmm...doesnt say just their earthly bodies here either.

Really so I suppose verse 11 isn't about the physical either?

Funny thing is ALL I see in your responses is denial about everything but no proof or support with scripture. Maybe you don't believe in scripture either. Is God's written Word synonymous with eternal damnation in your eyes?

psalms 37:35 I have seen a wicked, ruthless man,
spreading himself like a green laurel tree.[d]
36 But he passed away,[e] and behold, he was no more;
though I sought him, he could not be found

hmmm...pretty consistent message....eh? over and over it says, the wicked will not be found, will be no more, will vanish away.....what part dont you understand?

and where in any of these verses does it make any reference to just the physical, earthly body....answer....no where. it is your misguided interpretation where you get this from, as it is not in scripture.

Well if you can't see the ananlogy to the pastures(physical) I can't help you. Your bent on your belief is what instigates all this eisegesis.

you can ignore and spin things all you want,,,,i realize these verses make those who feel their god is in the business of punishment and torture, uncomfortable....it is in complete opposition to any kind of eternal damnation....trust me, i understand where your anger is coming from.....i used to be the same way, after finding out i had been misguided by the orthodox version of the bible.....let the Holyspirit guide you to the truth...:wave:

As I said, if you can't see the PHYSICAL analogies in Psalms then I can't help you. Why would David and the Psalmists be writing about non-corporeal beings?

verse 11 is speaking of the saved, not the wicked, so two completely different things, not sure where your confusion is coming from. yes the meek will inherit many things the wicked will not. the righteous will recv eternal life also, the wicked will not....:thumbsup:

'will be no more'', avoid it all you want, spin it all you want, deflect all you want....the verse will never go away....and it does not say....earthly body will be no more....it says...will be no more...no mention or distinction made anywhere in this chapt concerning said verses, that makes any mention whatsoever of a distinction of physical and spiritual.....keep grasping.

:doh: I must say, you're persistent and consistent in your error.

The meek will inherit the LAND. The wicked will disappear from the LAND.
How do you get saved out of this verse? You are right about the righteous and wicked though. The righteous will LIVE eternally, and the wicked will be dead eternally. However their soul will be separated and damned as long as their bodies are dead.
