  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

nah my Lord is not that at all, just because most people believe some slanders about him does not make it true. every knee shall bow, and this kind of bowing is a willingness. because God is a great king. but peoples hard hearts do not want to accept that they just don't know God as much as they think they do. they are still to this day ensnared with the law of sin and death and they use this wicked law in their eyes to see an image of God who is not God at all but he is rather a sheep with a dragons voice.

people would rather read the word according to the letter which kills. but I know God is The Spirit, just as i am a spirit. and he has no problem providing a solution for those that do not make it in this age. and I do not have a problem helping.

my heart is married to God, my husband does not do the things his people says that he does. jesus never cast a stone at anyone like the law appears to say, but people are so prideful they think they understand the laws of God and they proceed to murder one another. then they try to make excuses. they enforce more of their view about who God is by constantly eating doctrines of demons. demons are cruel and so are the doctrines you people believe in. but only God can set you free from the chains that bind you.

but you people are so trapped in your own religious views. you don't accept the apostle of barnabas letter, you don't accept polycarp, you don't accept hermas, you don't accept 1 enoch. it just shows that you only follow traditions of men and you don't know who the spirit of God is, you are blind. you know him to a degree but there is a river of lies in this world and you have been taken away. many are called but few are chosen, you better make sure you have a strong hold on who God is least you have shame on the judgement day.

Again, human sentiment...any scriptures to go along with your feelings?

Well first of all these aren't my words, they're in the Bible, book of Revelation.
Secondly it says NEW Heaven and Earth, not new place of damnation, not new universe. Where do you think Satan and his minions hang out now?

If you have relevant verses for this thread to support your assertions then go ahead and supply them. If you just want to prove I'm not as smart and understanding as God is, DON'T bother. I know that already.

im merely confused as to how there could still be ANY remnant of the wicked remaining, after God reconciles everything to Himself, in the end....it doesnt make any sense, and imo, is illogical....im asking you to explain it, as apparently this is what you believe....is it not?

That's because you agree with the sentence and the crime, as would I. Would you also be so willing to turn him in if your country's punishment for those crimes was to be sent to an prison 'worse than Auschwitz', where henchmen, worse than Hitler's simply tortured him continuously until the day he finally died?

And, even better yet, you get to visit him, since you're still his 'loving' earthly Father. And of course he, by then, will truly understand why you did it....right?

Well as I live in Canada and you in the USA, that scenario is a fairy tale here. But just to ensure you understand what reality is, God's Word is paramount and His statutes must be obeyed. Hitler is exactly where he should be, in the throws of his eternal damnation.

yes i could supply ample scripture, but scriptural debate is an endless back and forth, isnt it? im asking you as a human, using your own logic and intelligence, to square up the contradiction i have asserted exists, with your logic, or should i say, your understanding of scripture....you appear to either be unwilling, or unable to do it, without scripture?

Unfortunately, confusion is part of the human condition. In times like this, it is best to believe God and trust in His word. He has a way of making things clear as we submit to Him. Hebrews 11:1, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
1 Cor 13:12, For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

As Christians we use scripture as our guide. Are you a born again Christian? If so then supply me with scripture that supports you assertions or I will simply ignore your assertions as baseless, which at this point in time, they are.

ok, so i guess you cant explain it any better to me, as it is just too confusing? i was confused like this too, when i believed in the eternal hell doctrine, presented by orthodox christians, it made no sense how an all loving and forgiving God, could then turn around and torture someone for all eternity, for no purpose, other than to make them suffer....

that was untill i actually stopped listening to what other 'men' claimed the bible said, and i read it myself, in original texts, and realized the version of the bible id been told about, did not exist. and then it all made sense...and i was at peace about it, not tormented and confused by it.

things of confusion have a way of clearing up, when you allow for the proper discernment to be made, thru the Holyspirit, and using your own God given intelligence to listen to what the Holyspirit is telling you what scripture actually says/means, and not what someone else 'thinks' it means....i will put my faith in God, not in man, and his deceitful heart. you know, bibles are translated by men, right? they were not translated by God.

The current heaven and earth pass away, to give way to the new heaven and earth. Rev 21:1
This newness includes the fact of no more evil, sin or death. The lake of fire will exist for eternity.

your the one that said this, and didnt back it up with anything except spin.

now i agree w/ your interpretation of scripture regarding teh newness, as you put it, will not include evil, sin, death, etc...

what i am questioning is where in scripture do you conclude that it says the lake of fire will exist for eternity? and what is your idea/meaning of the lake of fire?

That scenario was meant as more of a parable than a fairly tale. And you never answered it....understandably. Your heart speaks so loudly here, I can't believe you don't have a happy face icon to go along with your belief concerning Hitler's fate. BTW How do you know where Hitler is anyway? Were you there at his death to know he didn't accept Jesus as his savior this side of his death?

i was wondering that myself, it must be an amazing ability to know all these things, where each has gone after death, seems to me, in some circles, that would be considered judgement, wouldnt it? i have no idea where hitler will ultimately end up, not for me to make that judgement, i am not God, i thought that was His job anyway, does it say somewhere in the bible where allowed to make such a final judgement of ones souls destiny? i must have missed that somewhere.

and in regards to my faith, and whether im, as you say, 'born again', thats my business. i dont believe in titles and labels, as it appears you put much importance into....what someone may or may not label me is irrelevant. i could supply much scripture, but you seem to be the type that would not listen to anything i put up, as you seem to have your mind made up, so what point would there be to that?

A question I have been asking myself lately...

Why is damnation in hell permanent? Why not another chance after a certain duration of punishment?
Because the NT uses the terms 'eternal' and 'forever' in regard to the punishment.

Why is Hell permanent?

Like what has been posted, this place of punishment was created for Satan and his minions...not resurrected humans. Since God is not of mankind, it is difficult for us to understand how He could be so Stoic in His decisions. Yes, He has the right to reward His Children eternally and to punish eternally those who refused to disown Satan and come to God. But in our minds, unless they killed a deity who would have lived forever, eternal punishment for that human seems very extreme.
Forever and eternal are unmistakeable.

Revelation 14:9-11 (NASB)
9 Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 "And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."

Psalm 37:10

English Standard Version (ESV)

10 In just a little while, the wicked will be no more;
though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there

heres a verse you can start with.....i read it just as the bible says it....the wicked will be no more....does no more mean something different to you?, apparently it does if you think the evil will suffer damnation without end, unfortunate for you, this bible verse completely contradicts what your interpretation of scripture says.

I have explained it. You obviously don't have the ears to hear. I'm not surprised you're confused. Everything boils down to your need to understand and be persuaded. Sorry that is not MY job. Your concept of eternal damnation just shows your lack of understanding as to what the Bible says. Eternal damnation is separation from God for eternity, knowing your could have decided to accept Jesus as Savior. Where people get the concept of torture from, when the damned have no bodies, is beyond me. You seem to ONLY see an ALL loving and forgiving God. You don't see the ALL just part. You believe in mercy but you don't believe He is a God of His word. You believe in a very humanistic God but NOT the God of the Bible. Not the God who killed Ananias and Sapphira for lying. You my friend believe in the God of your making, NOT the God of the universe and creation. No wonder you are confused.
James 4:8;
Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

seems to say the opposite of what your misguided interpretation is....cause theres nothing in this verse, or in its context, that says anything like what your saying, in fact, it says the complete opposite.
