Why is Hell permanent?

A question I have been asking myself lately...

Why is damnation in hell permanent? Why not another chance after a certain duration of punishment?

Simply put, it wouldn't HAVE to be permanent, but we judge this by what the Bible seems to be telling us.

As we SHOULD, but in this case the Bible doesn't tell us Hell is permanent. It tells us that Hell lasts ONLY until Christ's Judgment and then it is thrown into the lake of fire all with everything else not going to the New Jerusalem.

The Bible says there is NONE good. We simply accept Him as a sinner, then we become a sinner saved by grace.

not many people remember that God is our FATHER. fathers do not hurt their children by letting them suffer forever or by erasing them. that sounds like what the devil would do.

there are many mysteries in the bible and they are hidden from people because they are unclean animals like pigs and dogs. they ought rather to be innocent deer or sheep. dogs like to eat their vomit and pigs will eat just about anything.

yep i found the greatest pearl of all, God himself. what is salvation? YHVH is salvation. people always trample God, they think they know him but then they make him out to be worse than a murderer. time to open your eyes and repent, you have been believing lies about God for far to long. see that you have been wallowing in the mud of the world, come home to God, he loves you.

there are many hard sayings in the bible that ignorant men twist and distort to their own spiritual destruction. I was like that once too, but now God opened up my eyes. and i know that soon the change of this world will happen, the transformation of this kosmos. this world is just fake and not real, only God matters. but so many peoples hearts are so hard, they don't want to believe that God is love and only Good. they think they have Gods ways figured out. but I know his judgments are love. and he is called righteous on the account that he loves all and has mercy on all.

or you can stay trapped in the hell that ignorant men create, the hell that says God makes people suffer forever or that God deletes his sons and daughters. you poor poor souls. only God can provide the remedy.

It's true, it's god grace that comes over us to save us, but there are those who by there own choices reject the holy spirit.

Hell is permanent because this life is a test. If you fail the test then you get punished by not graduating the school of life.

Sorry, but to reiterate, Hell is NOT permanent, Damnation is. Hell will be thrown into the lake of fire, with all souls whose names are NOT written in the Book of Life. Rev 20:15

Is it God's logic or man's logic? I don't believe in an eternal hell. The Gospel of Paul, for instance, is a much more sensible vision of the afterlife.

nah my Lord is not that at all, just because most people believe some slanders about him does not make it true. every knee shall bow, and this kind of bowing is a willingness. because God is a great king. but peoples hard hearts do not want to accept that they just don't know God as much as they think they do. they are still to this day ensnared with the law of sin and death and they use this wicked law in their eyes to see an image of God who is not God at all but he is rather a sheep with a dragons voice.

people would rather read the word according to the letter which kills. but I know God is The Spirit, just as i am a spirit. and he has no problem providing a solution for those that do not make it in this age. and I do not have a problem helping.

my heart is married to God, my husband does not do the things his people says that he does. jesus never cast a stone at anyone like the law appears to say, but people are so prideful they think they understand the laws of God and they proceed to murder one another. then they try to make excuses. they enforce more of their view about who God is by constantly eating doctrines of demons. demons are cruel and so are the doctrines you people believe in. but only God can set you free from the chains that bind you.

but you people are so trapped in your own religious views. you don't accept the apostle of barnabas letter, you don't accept polycarp, you don't accept hermas, you don't accept 1 enoch. it just shows that you only follow traditions of men and you don't know who the spirit of God is, you are blind. you know him to a degree but there is a river of lies in this world and you have been taken away. many are called but few are chosen, you better make sure you have a strong hold on who God is least you have shame on the judgement day.

Would you also be so willing to turn him in if your country's punishment for those crimes was to be sent to an prison 'worse than Auschwitz', where henchmen, worse than Hitler's simply tortured him continuously until the day he finally died?

And, even better yet, you get to visit him, since you're still his 'loving' earthly Father. And of course he, by then, will truly understand why you did it....right?

It seems to me to be the other side of the coin of our being called to die to ourselves, to be epically heroic 'other Christs' - in worldly terms, a most unnatural calling.

If that call, that vocation, had been merely an invitation... well, put it this way, even with the threat of eternal hell-fire, we struggle enough to live the life of perfect faith. Imagine if it had been a just a kindly invitation.

I have a black sense of humour, so it tickles me when Jesus has the master in one of his parables say to his servant, the poltroon who wrapped up the one talent entrusted to him by his master in a piece of cloth: "You knew I was a hard man who reaped where he never sowed; who gathered here he never scattered..!"

ok, so hell, and death, and devil and his angels, and all the wicked will be thrown into the lake of fire, and there will be new heaven and new earth, and everything will be righteous and right, and good, there will be no more evil and wickedness, all this right so far.....? then how is it that the damned will still be around? that is illogical, all the evil is gone, but the damned and wicked are still around? sorry, but imo that is illogical, and your logic is not Gods, youll never understand His logic, would you like bible verses to prove your not as smart and understanding as God, concerning what you spouse to be His logic? it is not His logic, its yours.

actually, just noticed, you said untill the day he finally died? the orthodox view of hell doesnt allow for such a luxury, you dont die, you are in perpetual, without end, agony. with no hope of escape, no end, no respite....its just torture, with no beginning, no here and now, no future, its just a state of torture, period...torture of which the pain involved the human mind cant comprehend, nor can it comprehend the duration in question, thats what his sons sentence would be, quite a difference than 'untill death'.

Well first of all these aren't my words, they're in the Bible, book of Revelation.
Secondly it says NEW Heaven and Earth, not new place of damnation, not new universe. Where do you think Satan and his minions hang out now?

If you have relevant verses for this thread to support your assertions then go ahead and supply them. If you just want to prove I'm not as smart and understanding as God is, DON'T bother. I know that already.
