Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

 I must say, you're persistent and consistent in your error.

The meek will inherit the LAND. The wicked will disappear from the LAND.
How do you get saved out of this verse? You are right about the righteous and wicked though. The righteous will LIVE eternally, and the wicked will be dead eternally. However their soul will be separated and damned as long as their bodies are dead.

other than your intitial snark comment, the next few lines are all correct, up untill the last line, where you falter. their is no place in scripture that says this. misinterpreted scripture is your only 'proof' of this baseless assertion. it is an error passed down through generations....in order to get what you want it to mean, you insert your own words to scripture, to bolster your preconceived ideas, which only reinforces your misguided views conscerning THE TRUTH.

'will be no more'', avoid it all you want, spin it all you want, deflect all you want....the verse will never go away....and it does not say....earthly body will be no more....it says...will be no more...no mention or distinction made anywhere in this chapt concerning said verses, that makes any mention whatsoever of a distinction of physical and spiritual.....keep grasping.

It is normal for people who feel threatened, to lash out with these kind of responses. I'm sure it is very frustrating for you.
1 Peter 3:15 states, Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. However the last part states, do this with gentleness and respect.

So if I understand your assertion, you cannot tell if verses 14 & 15 are about physical or spiritual things? If that IS the case, then you do have a problem. How can you possible read the Bible and NOT know the distinction between the physical world and the spiritual world. I think I understand why you are confused.

you wanted scripture, and thats exactly why i didnt want to give it, cause i could tell from your attitude from the start, that all you wanted to do was argue, and bolster your own misguided self pride...then i give them to you, verbatim, and instead of acknowledging what they say, you disregard them, by adding words to them, changing the meaning of them, and conjecturing your own ideas, all twisted together, in a neat little package....i will ignore you insinuations of me not being a christian, and ignore your insults...as this clearly shows what your motive is here....pride is not a good thing.

that is a cool icon, btw, im happy you think your cool....anyway, i dont feel threatened in any way...i was brought up a catholic, subjected to my fathers 'born again' rants, and lied to my whole life about what was actually written in the word, the true word of the bible....not the misguided, misinterpreted kjv, and all the hellfire and brimstone preachers falsely teach from their pulpits....anyway, ya, i believed the eternal hellfire for 37 years, so i can assure you, your not telling me anything i havent heard before, or much i havent already believed, so ive already been there, done that....so how exactly would i feel threatened by that....when ive already been made alive in the truth....the truth sets you free.....and what youve been misguided into believing is not in the scripture i read.

Well like I said, you obviously don't really KNOW the Bible, and again no scripture support.

Rev 20:12 & 13

And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done.

So what do you figure the DEAD could be judged for, if they aren't sticking around?

It is unfortunate that some use hell and eternal damnation as a scare tactic. It is also unfortunate that it turns out reactionary people like you. I'm not sure about the 'born again' rants reference but is that because you also don't believe you should be born again? BTW, I don't use the KJV. I was also raised RC. Didn't hurt me a bit. Did I ask you if you were SDA?

Christians rely on the NT. Forever means forever.

sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt, already proven that many times with scripture, you can keep trying to convince yourself of that, doesnt change anything. the facts and the truth of scripture speak for themselves....and i ll go with what the bible says....not your misguided views.

theres a strong reason you relly on nt, cause any idea of hell is not even mentioned in the ot, dont you find that odd? oh, well, i guess that was there tough luck, all those people who lived before the nt was written....they had no idea what the fate of the wicked would be.....too bad for them...eh?;)

2Ti 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

Psa 49:15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

Note: The Greek word punished [τίνω G5099] does not occur in the original Greek translation of 2Th 1:9 .

Chanting won't work either. You sure are stuck on four little words.
This is what ALL people who use eisegesis do. The pick out words and phrases to justify their belief. Exegesis is to expose the ENTIRE contextual phrase and use it accordingly. The fact that you do NOT differentiate body and soul in these scriptures is a distinct SDA doctrine. It may help you to read Luke 16:19-31, to see what Jesus has to say about death and hell and suffering. Their bodies were NO MORE, but their souls continued on, into eternity.
Then again I won't hold my breath.

actually i didnt just give you 4 words, apparently you have a hard time counting also. i gave you 3 different verses, and to an extent, an entire chapter out of psalms, of which the entire chpt speaks of exactly what ive said, and complete opposite of what you claim....so please...try again. furthre i could give dozens more verses and chapters, all saying the same message, but apparently your to set in your ways to be swayed, cant blame you, it took me 37 years to finally wake up, kicking and screaming all the way. the Holyspirit is much more powerful than a humans pride though, therefore the Holyspirit won out.:thumbsup:and if you allow, it will overcome your pride as well.:D

You may want to look at that post again, that I was commenting on IN CONTEXT. You only used 4 words.
Doesn't matter how much scripture you give or don't give, if it's out of context it's baseless. You keep sticking to these verses as if they are the only ones in the Bible you know.
Try Hebrews 4:12 that shows how God separates our tripartite selves.
Or try Matthew 10:28 where Jesus says, Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.

It sounds to me like for 37 years you wrestled in the flesh, instead of putting on the full Armour of God to protect you from the flaming arrows of the enemy.
It appears these flaming arrows bothered you so much that you forgot who protects you from these flames and just decided that your best course of action was to deny the flames and deny anything bad can happen to us AFTER we die.
2 Peter 2:9-10
the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. 10 This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the flesh and despise authority.

Me thinks the day of judgment is going to surprise a lot of people.

actually you left off the rest of the verse, which only bolster my belief, do you not think God can destroy your body and soul, cause according to matthew, He can, and according to other scripture He will , this verse does nothing to support your pov....absolutely nothing....try again.

no there not the only verses i know, but untill you answer it, and stop saying something that it doesnt say, and acknowledge what it says, then i'll stay on it, if you dont like it, you dont have to read it.

ya ya , just stop short of condemning me to hell, i know where that is going....believe me, considering in the arrogance you present your views in, and the pride that overwhelms all your answers, it doesnt surprise me in the least that your insinuating me and others are going to be damned to hell....you can stop short of saying it....God knows what your thinking, and your pride and pompousness are not deceiving the One who can read your heart.... and some will have alot of explaining to do, when their true works are revealed to them on the day of judgement.....God isnt deceived.

Yes exactly but I was commenting on your ridicule to my comment about the body and soul NOT being intrinsically linked in scripture. God CAN destroy whatever He created. Just because God CAN do something, doesn't mean He does or will. Again your reasoning is a little faulty.

To give you an idea of God's character, read Romans 9, where Paul recounts God's message to Moses.
“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.
