Why do you think the sabbath is always such a 'hot topic'?

Its not. It just looks like it is because two ot three members start a new Sabbath thread every day and rergurgitate the same old weak, worn out, Sabbatarian arguments.

Wow! 87 threads on the Sabbath, [with the pope threads in a slight lead].

Yes, about four Scott Hahn threads verses forty Sabbath threads.
I don't think you'll be able to retire on those four nickels my friend.

Okay. Make that 87 Sabbath threads.
And how many Scott Hahn threads?

Just a quick question for the SDA's on this thread. Do you folks also observe the sabbatical year and the year of jubilee?
I would give all I have to see a Catholic and SDA [or Messianic] debate on the Sabbath on a Debate board. Any volunteers?

Matthew 5:17
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Romans 10:4
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Romans 13:10
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Where there is controversies.. there you will have the most threads on the subject... usually because these are key contentions of faith... and because of the strong convictions.. important to the posters.
Titus 3:9
But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

James 3:16
For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

One might say that these scriptures instruct us to avoid theses kinds of Internet forums all together. Thoughts anyone?

Right on.

Funnily enough, an SDA poster on another thread had actually put this verse forward thinking it was in favour of law-keepers...

(...typical of the perversed meanings we're seeing given to scripture by those coming at it from a law-based perspective).

Well...sitting there, trying to prove an SDA that they're wrong about their law-based beliefs probably doesn't do any good after a while...but if, say, your intention is to quash falsities about the Gospel that are being presented at large to other brothers and sisters around, then one could argue there is indeed some use in that.

For myself, I like to take the examples of scripture SDAs often use and show how it's not in fact promoting law, but on the contrary, actually talking about the Good News of the Gospel!

I think that's very worth while.

If the law as a whole (because that's what it's talking about) is fulfilled as you believe Paul to be saying, in as much that we no longer are obligated to keep it, then that means that adultery, murder, idol worship, taking God's name in vain, etc, is ok

It's not a law-based belief, but a bible based belief. Tell me this, do you believe in lawlessness? yes or no
