That's correct. if There are 3 different natures to The Most High, you will be able to find verses to support that in the Torah

Not necessarily. There are numerous and essential Christian doctrines that are based upon the New Testament. In fact, I consider it to be a non-starter of an argument in a discussion conducted among Christians to maintain that a certain doctrine isn't true simply because the speaker has eliminated from consideration all the Bible books which contain the evidence!

I will even spell it out for you.....

Psa 110:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD says to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool."
This is David speaking....The Lord is God.....my Lord is Christ.....who else is above David?
Gen 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Gen 1:2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
The Trinity....dispute it with scripture as I have shown you with scripture....bet you can't.....

None of that points to there being "3 somethings". We are told over and over there is 1 God, and NOBODY ELSE.

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:” - Deuteronomy‬ ‭6:4‬ ‭

“Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that YHUH he is God; there is none else beside him.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭4:35‬

“Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that YHUH he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭4:39

The Most High says it's JUST HIM.. Where do you get 3 in 1?

“I, even I, am YHUH; and beside me there is no saviour.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:11‬

“I am YHUH, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am YHUH, and there is none else.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭45:5-6‬

Nehemiah says it was YHUH who made the heavens and earth. Not YHUH & Jesus.. Not YHUH & a few other somethings

“Thou, even thou, art YHUH alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.” - Nehemiah‬ ‭9:6‬

Genesis 2:4 tells us that YHUH made the heavens and earth... Not YHUH & a few others

“These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that YHUH God made the earth and the heavens,” - Genesis‬ ‭2:4‬

Where are the "3 somethings"?

Civilwarbuff. I am not denying that the holy spirit is god but that there is no trinity. God and the holy spirit are the same thing. Anyways your psalm110:1 go to move has already been debunked. David was speaking prophetically. This prophecy was fulfilled when God rose jesus from the dead and sat him at his right hand. Jesus didn't already exist then but in gods foreknowledge.

Good thing john 1 has been addressed.
http://www.angelfire.com/space/thegospeltruth/TTD/verses/john1_1.html

John 1:1
In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.

The Trinitarian Claim

Trinitarians interpret the text as if John is referring to the beginning of the Genesis creation and the verse says the Son was with God and the Son was God.

Conclusion

An honest exploration of the facts demonstrates to us that the Word of John 1:1 is the Word proclaimed through Jesus in his ministry and the Word he proclaimed was the proclamation of God the Father Himself, "the Word was God." He who had seen Jesus had seen the Father in terms of the things Jesus did. God is Life and Jesus fully expressed that Life in the words he spoke and the works he did. God is Truth and Jesus fully expressed that Truth by everything he said and did. God is Light and Jesus fully expressed the Light of the Father in all the words he spoke and works he did in the name of his God. God is Love and the flesh named Jesus fully expressed the Father's Love, dead flesh hanging on the cross for your sins and mine. The Word of God was something the flesh named Jesus always kept. The Word became flesh, that is, God the Father was manifested in flesh, that flesh named Jesus. Jesus came so that we might know the Father and Jesus fully expressed the Father in all the things he did because he always kept His Father's Word. Jesus' words and works were not his own but the Father's. The Word as proclaimed by Jesus... was God

This particular eisegesis refutes itself by virtue of the fact that the Word is described as "Him" in John 1:3, and then we find John 1:14 describing the Word as incarnate. The idea that the Word is not our Lord is too silly for words, frankly. Particularly for one versed in the writings of, say, Philo.

The trinity is a doctrine that runs deep in the veins of many believers. It's a tough doctrine for some people to let go of, even though there is no scriptural reason to be hanging on to it

Other than John 1, Matthew 28:19 et cetera. We have previously established in another thread that the rejection of the Trinity is unscriptural.

You have no idea what the Trinitarian doctrine is; this much is clear, for we say there are not three divine natures but one divine nature; the prosopoa of the Trinity are of one essence (homoousios).

The funny part is most people who believe the trinity can't even explain it.

The ones who can recite the Nicene Creed certainly can.

They like your average christian hasn't examined the evidence. They just listen to what joel osteen says for an hour a week then go back to mindless living.

Amusingly enough I don't believe anyone who has responded to this thread is a devotee of Joel Osteen.

Ah, so here we are falsely accused of Tritheism. Try reading the Nicene Creed sometime (it's in the Christianforums.com Statement of Faith).

How did I know you would not establish the trinity doctrine with scripture from the Tanakh? Thank you for proving my point.

There is nothing in the Torah, prophets the writings to suggest or hint at the trinity, thus the trinity is not supported by scripture.

Since when is the New Testament not Scripture?

So you strangely think that Trinitarians believe that there are "3 different natures"; in this case I would say that you need to go away for awhile and read some serious literature on the subject and not just some odd-ball Oneness pamphlet.

Holy Scripture identifies Jesus Christ as God, the Holy Ghost as God, and (of course) the Father as God. Yet it is clear that there is only one God, according to Scripture. It also uses personal pronouns to describe each of these, so that we cannot conclude that we're dealing only with different attributes or etc. of the one God.

The purveyors of false doctrine have an answer for any scripture which contradicts their doctrine. I call it the SPAM-Fig copout. If a verse does not support a particular doctrine then it is either symbolic, prophetic/poetic, allegory, metaphor or figurative, anything but literal.
According to Jesus own words He existed before the world was created. Or is that prophetical as well?

Joh 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
Anticipating a rebuttal, yes there is figurative language in the Bible, e.g. we know that trees don't rejoice, mountains don't skip and rocks and stars don't speak. But that is not license to arbitrarily dismiss other scripture as figurative. Many times the writer informs us when something is figurative. There is a axiom for interpreting scripture, "If the plain sense makes good sense then it is nonsense to look for any other sense."

Eleven passages, from the list of 86, below, which reveal the Triunity of God. Each passage shows Father, Son, and Holy Spirit having a different relationship, effect, role, purpose, etc., with respect to believers.

For example, #1, Titus 3:4, believers are SAVED BY Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, all three. We are SAVED BY,

1. the kindness and love of God our Savior,
2., by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost, shed on us abundantly
3. through Jesus Christ our Saviour, all three..

(1.) Tit 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of [1] God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of [2]the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he [3] shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

(2.) 2 Co 13:14 [1] The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and [2]the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, [3]be with you all. Amen.

(3.) Jud 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, [1] praying in the Holy Ghost,
21 Keep yourselves [2]in the love of God, looking for [3] the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

(4.) 1 Pet 1:2 Elect according to [1] the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of [2] the Spirit, [Repeated three times, cf. 2 Th 2.13, Ro 15:16] unto obedience and [3] sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: [Repeated twice, cf. Heb 9.14] Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

(5.) Luk 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, [1] The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and [2] the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing, which shall be born of thee shall be called [3] the Son of God,.

(6.) Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be [1] baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive [2] the gift of the Holy Ghost,.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as [3] the Lord our God shall call,.

(7.) Rom 15:16 That I should be [1] the minister of Jesus Christ, to the Gentiles, ministering [2]the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being [3] sanctified by the Holy Ghost,.

(8.) Rom 15:12 And again, Esaias saith, There shall be [1] a root of Jesse,, and he, that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him, shall the Gentiles trust.
13 Now [2] the God of hope, fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through [3] the power of the Holy Ghost,.

(9.) Heb 9.14 How much more, then, will [1] the blood of Christ, who [2] through the eternal Spirit, offered himself unblemished [3] to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!,

(10.) 2 Thess 2.13 But we ought always to [1] thank God, for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God, chose you to be saved through [2] the sanctifying work of the Spirit, and through belief in the truth.
14 He called you to this through our gospel, that you might [3] share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ,.

(11.) I Cor 12.3 Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.
4 There are [1] different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.,
5 There are [2] different kinds of service, but the same Lord.,
6 There are [3] different kinds of working, but the same God, works all of them in all men.

So when paul says we were chosen as the elect of god before the foundation of the world that means that we existed before the world? Any existence we had was in gods foreknowledge nothing less nothing more. These two scriptures are talking about the same thing.

Ephesians 1:4
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
John 17:5
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

These are talking about the same things. So either you believe you were around before the world like christ or only in gods foreknowledge. You can't have both and we both know none of us were physically around before the foundation of the world. I'm afraid this whole thread will keep going on and on with someone posting a verse from the bible with the wrong interpretation and I have to correct them.

Anti-Trinitarians endlessly squabble and bicker about words, used by Trinitarians, trying to express the nature of God, as revealed in scripture, e.g. Trinity,””triune,””person,""being,""entity,""substance,""essence,"”nature,””who," Hypostatic union," etc., etc., All words are inherently finite and imperfect, therefore these words, and/or any other words, are totally inadequate to describe God, the infinite, perfect, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent. But the fact that human words are finite, limited and imperfect does not prove or disprove anything about the doctrine of the Trinity.

Here yet again scriptural truths I have posted before, without any so-called unscriptural words or man made doctrines.

1. There is one God! The Father is called/referred to as God, in scripture, but the Father is not the Son or the Spirit. Numerous vss. e.g., John 6:27, Gal 1:1, Gal 1:3, Eph 6:23, Philippians 2:11, 1 Thess 1:1, 2 Tim 1:2, Titus 1:4, 1 Peter 1:2, 2 Peter 1:17 et. al.

2. There is one God! The Son is called/referred to as God, in scripture, but the Son is not the Father or the Spirit. Thirty six (36) scripture which address or refer to Jesus as God, Matt 1:23, Isa 9:6, Luke 7:16, John 1:1, 3, 4, 10, 14, 18, 10:33, 5:18,8: 58, 12;24, 14:9, 17:5, 10, 20:28, Act 20:28, Rom 9:5, 2 Cor 4:4, Col 1:14-16, 2:9, Eph 3:9, Heb 1:1:2-3, 8-12, 3:3, Phi 2:6, 1 Tim 1:1, 3:16, 6:15, Tit 2;13, 2 Pet 1:1, 1 John 5:20, Rev 17:14, 19;16, 22:12-13

[25] Heb 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever[God calls the Son, God]: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

3. There is one God! The Holy Spirit is called/referred to as God, in scripture, but the Spirit is not the Father or the Son. Acts 5:3-4, Acts 28:25-27.

Scripture which identify the Holy Spirit as God

Act 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

This passage, Act 5:3-4, above, identifies the Holy Spirit as God by equating lying to the H.S. with lying to God.

Act 28:25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

This passage Act 28:25-27, above, identifies the Holy Spirit as YHWH by saying the H.S. spoke words which were spoken by YHWH, in Isa 6:8-10, below.

Isa 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, [יהוה/YHWH] saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed

Heb 10:15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. [O.T. see יהוה/YHWH, Jer 31:33-34]

This passage, Heb 10:15-17, above, identifies the Holy Spirit as YHWH by saying words spoken by YHWH, in Jer 31:33-34, below, were spoken by the H.S.

Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, [יהוה/YHWH] I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more

Heb 3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. [O.T. יהוה/YHWH, Ps 95:10]

11[/b] So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) [O.T. יהוה/YHWH, Deu 1:34-35]

This passage, Heb 3:7-11, above, identifies the Holy Spirit as YHWH by saying words spoken by YHWH in Psa 95:10-11, and Deu 1:34-35, below, were spoken by the Holy Spirit.

Psa 95:10 Forty years long was I b][יהוה/YHWH vs. 6][/b]grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

Deu 1:34 And the LORD [יהוה/YHWH] heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying,
35 Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers,

There is one God! The Father, the Son, and the Spirit, all three are called/ referred to as God, in scripture, but each has a distinct mind, will, and self; John 16:13, 1 Cor 12:11, Philippians 2:5, John 5:26, Rom 8:27, Matthew 26:39.

Wrong! Paul is speaking in Ephesians, Jesus is speaking in John. God is omniscient and can choose those to be born before they are. We unfortunately are finite humans. Jesus was praying to the Father there was no reason for Him to use anything but literal language. Jesus said He came down for heaven John 6:38, John 6:50-51, John 6:5 Jesus said He was from heaven, John 3:13. I know what 20th century false religious groups teach but the Jewish audience Jesus was addressing would have understood Jesus meant exactly what He said.
