Read Psalms 82Those angels are still living today. They are immortal.
It seems you should ASK THEM why..Because they prefer things that way, just that simple.
Wow, what a Christian thing to say, buddy.Because someone can't call themselves Christian if they don't believe that He'll is forever.
Wrong.Several reasons, but mainly because they think an eternal punishment is unreasonable for their "small sins".
So, what's a Christians who accuses and judges his brethren then?Indeed indeed, those that try to lead people astray by trying to convince people that Hell is not eternal because their god isn't like that to do that to people are truly workers of iniquity.
It seems you should ASK THEM why..
Why is that a fallacy?Actually, that is a fallacy assuming it will be as if you were never born.
It's the death penalty. It would be better if that were the case, do the crime, avoid the time.
Scripture strongly suggests the wages of sin is death, not life in ECT.However, as scripture shows this is not the case, and the punishment would be eternal and enduring.
Yeah, because now he will receive the death penalty.Matthew 26:24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
But how is it possible that people in this discussion are not even aware of the Biblical case for CI and against ECT?Or maybe you should tell me why you think I'm wrong why "some" believe Hell is not eternal?
A million years would still offer hope to sinners, eternity is forever and ever times forever, there’s no getting around it because you will be trying to get around it for ever lolthe opposite to enternal life should be enternal death.
but some verses in the bible say that the souls will exist for ever and can not be destroyed, correct me if am wrong, if this is the case then indeed the people in hell will be tortured for ever and ever. or maybe "for ever" means like 1 million years?
What am i to think now of your (plural) motivations to defend a belief in God who is never finished torturing his creatures?
[17] "Yet your people say, `The way of the Lord is not just'; when it is their own way that is not just.
[18] When the righteous turns from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, he shall die for it.
[19] And when the wicked turns from his wickedness, and does what is lawful and right, he shall live by it.
[20] Yet you say, `The way of the Lord is not just.' O house of Israel, I will judge each of you according to his ways." Ezekiel 33:17-20 RSV
Oops, did i misunderstand you?I'm not going to tell you what to think, that's entirely up to you.
I haven't read any of the posts here, just gave my opinion, one that's the same for many things in the bible people would rather not believe, but on what you say you are teaching, is that something that was taught to you? and if so, are you certain the source of those teaching weren't from someone who wanted to believe there was no hell? And do you disagree that "some" really do seek out what they want to believe instead of the truth?
Same as with people that want to do as they wish, they will go for OSAS, as absurd as it is, and they too will give scripture that supposedly backs their belief, but in the end, it never holds up in debate here.
Also, what do you mean by the never ending torture you describe? I mean, what specifically will be happening to these people forever? Do you even know? are you certain they aren't destroyed eventually. You do realize never ending punishment could be to cease to exist forever?
Okay, sorry about the misunderstanding. Not saying I know either..I think God left us with less than a full understanding of Hell on purpose because no one seems to be able to pinpoint exactly what will happen, they only know they don't want it to happen to them. I ask because it may not be as terrible as what you are thinking, whatever that mat be.
yes people get different punishment, like someone feels 10000 deegress and the other one only feels 400 deegrees.
and hell is not opened yet, its on doomsday god will start to burn people forever....everyone will spend as much time in hell....the wicked right now (and since start of mankind) is going to dark sorrow place...which is not even close to be as bad as the real hell that will come at doomsday...
Well, now, let us not make a joke out of this. There is the possibility that some things in existence cannot co-exist with other things (for various reasons). The suggestion about hell being temporary assumes that the souls in hell are somehow made over into other kinds of beings, suitable for being eternally with those who followed the Lord on Earth, or that Christ was not serious about the estrangement from God that awaits those who do not turn to God in life. Neither of those is as good a bet as some people seem to think. If people ran to hell because they can't stand the presence of God then absolutely nobody would be debating this.
Where does it say that there is a time limit??
yes when wicked people who lives on earth will turn from their wickedness, this is not about people in hell getting saved.
Where does it say that there is a time limit?
Where does it say that there is a time limit?
Rev_21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Death is not a ongoing process---it comes to an end. It doesn't say second life. Burning forever is living forever. Death is end of life, living forever is end of death.
Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
There is no more pain--no more death---you can not be tormented forever without pain and God says there will be no more pain.
There is a third option to annihilation and eternal conscious torment. To me ECT as a punishment is logically inconsistent with a loving God. It is literally the most evil thing you could do to someone for absolutely no purpose.
Yes, we should always pray and wish for the redemption of everyone. It's another thing to be glad it's eternal, as opposed to wishing it weren't instead.
