So what exactly do you think your religion forbids? Is it that you shouldn't go with your friends to a bar, or that you shouldn't get drunk, or that you shouldn't get drunk and then do something stupid, or what? Because if it's the latter, then when you tell them you're not coming to a bar because of your religion they're going to know that's not the real reason and they're going to give you a hard time for not being straight with them.Thibeault said:I cant just go find new ppl cuz the other kids do the same thing and just go out and party. If they didnt do that i would hang with them but i am first year and everyone else is way older so there isnt much point of doing that.
It's perfectly possible to go with people who are partying and not be drunk or stupid yourself. People even tend to appreciate it once they realize your personal choice doesn't mean you are condemning theirs. Once you learn how to be comfortable in situations like that they'll learn to be comfortable with you. And you can always suggest some places where there's more to do than just getting drunk, like bars with Irish music or blues or shuffleboard or darts for instance.
