Democrats already do this. It's not news. McCarthy gave some footage to Fox News....so what? You can literally tour the Capitol. I don't see what secret security information is going to be revealed.

I've seen a US President in person, even taken pictures. OTOH, I imagine if there were an active shooting situation where a crew was taking background video that showed the protocols the Secret Service had when they believed the President may be in danger, that the Secret Service would quickly seize that video. On Jan 6 it was the Capitol Police in that situation, where they felt the lives of members of Congress were in danger -- and the internal security cameras show the protocols used to try and protect Congress.

I'd say for a closer example, let's talk about Chelsea Manning; that would seem to be a much better example. I mean, most of the right wing was up in arms over the release of Classified information and wanted her jailed, if not executed. And he gave it to everyone. Imagine if Manning had just given the material to an "entertainer", not even a journalist, at CNN -- how much more would the Right Wing have been up in arms over it. It's not hard to imagine if this had occurred the other way.

If you think their actions were "according to plan" instead of something they improvised on the spot....I'd think you are almost certainly wrong.

Beyond the inevitable hack job that will entertain the Fox base, there are some real concerns here. The snippets shown at the Jan 6 committee hearings were all cleared for release by Capitol security. Having all the raw footage could conceivably show where surveillance cameras are in the Capitol (and where they aren't).

(Hard to tell how much of that is true, since the only part of what he said that's verifiable isn't true or is at least questionable.)

Congress has not been prosecuting and imprisoning the cop-assaulters and trespassers. Many of the offenders were arrested and/or tried before the committee held its public hearings.

But hey, feel free to utterly ignore the Republican leader himself on the matter. Who was at the Capitol while it was happening. Feel free to ignore that Fox has admitted on numerous times that they don't tell the truth. That they pander to their audience and tell them what they want to hear. Feel free to to ignore the number of convictions relating to that shameful day. Feel free to ignore what we all saw on live tv that day. Feel free to watch cherry picked moments from the hundreds of hours of footage and shout 'Hey, Look! There's another few minutes when nothing happened.'

I really find it hard to understand how people can be so gullible. I honestly find it amazing. And depressing, that so many people can led to believe anything this circus of clowns that calls itself a news organisation deems fit to air.
