Yes, I've read the information and data points on both sides of the equation

Actually, there is only one side that has actual data points.

the only witness I know to have been there at the beginning was God

That is something that you believe. It is not something that you know.

Only those with the Spirit of God have any hope of understanding the things of God. So, again for me, I fully understand that others don't see things as I do. The Scriptures seem to clearly paint a picture that shows that mankind, as time passes and we march inexorably to the end that is coming, isn't going to be more and more loving and understanding of the things of God. No! Quite the contrary. Mankind is going to walk in the direction that leads them further and further away from loving and understanding God. I understand this and I believe, based on experiential data of living my life and watching the things that are happening in the world, that such a course is not only inevitable as the Scriptures declare, but is happening today. Now! As we live in this world today, those born with the Spirit of God can clearly see the wickedness and deceitfulness of mankind as a group.

People of a particular religion see "wickedness" and "deceitfullness" in people that aren't part of their elite little club of like-minded believers? Shocker!

I just know that it isn't the truth to explain the how and why I'm here.

Again, you have no such knowledge. What you have are faith based beliefs.

But it's okay to teach our children about Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy, isn't it?

I'm actually somewhat divided about that.

But if you wish to compare your religious beliefs to a toddler's belief in Santa and the Easter bunny... go right ahead.

Some ideas don't deserve anything more then mocking and ridicule.

So you can mock and ridicule those too?

You must spend a lot of time mocking and ridiculing others' beliefs.

The technical term for that is bullying.

Probably because most Muslim-majority nations are theocracies already so they can teach Islamic creationism in schools all they want - i.e. they've already won the battle Christian creationists are fighting in the US.

Try reading the article,....it might just surprise you on the actual reason...

Mocking ideas isn't the same as mocking people.

And if you can't see the difference between the beliefs of an adult vs that of a toddler (who still lacks all the skills to reason about an idea and instead just swallows whatever perceived authorities tell him/her), then I don't think I can help you out here...

You got that backwards.

Oooooh, wow!

You ... how did you put it?
Some ideas don't deserve anything more then mocking and ridicule.
You deservedly mock and ridicule the beliefs ideas, not the person!

Boy, that'll show those ideas won't it!?

I had a bowling ball that I once gave a good talking too!

It didn't help much, but it made me feel better.

Nobody should tolerate religious myth in science classes.
Nobody should teach science fiction, either. Evolution, taught as scientific theory, is bad enough. Evolution taught as fact is science fiction.

The history of mankind is filled with religious violence,.....and we're suffering the effects from it even today....
The history of mankind is filled with violence. Period.
Remember when God told the Israelites to destroy their enemies? Why were they enemies? The Israelites didn't seek people to make war against them. They were enemies because the Israelites were God's people and so the others hated them; much the way non-believers hate God's people today. Godly people do not hate and only got to war in defense. Unfortunately, there are people in the world even today who continue to make war because they are evil. That's not God's fault.

A bowling ball is an object, not an idea.

Ideas can be ridiculous. So can beliefs.
What is the problem?

I'm sure that throughout my life, I have believed all kinds of crazy, ridiculous nonsense. And perhaps I still do.

Evolution is a scientific theory like any other.
It's also a fact, just like gravity is also a fact.

Creatures demonstrably reproduce with modifications.
Those modifications demonstrably get passed on to off spring.
Creatures that are a better fit for the habitat then their peers demonstrably are more successfull at surviving and reproducing.

Your ignorance on the matter, is not an argument against it.

Yes, I agree, its not some imaginary deity's fault, its those people that believe in such a deity thats the problem

Mocking in any way generally wont get a good response. It wont open any minds. It ends in vain strife, or vanity itself (uselessness)

I disagree. Confronting ideas, through ridicule or otherwise, results in discussion and hopefully someone learns something by it.

Keep in mind once more that "mocking/ridiculing ideas" is not the same as mocking/ridiculing the people that believe those ideas.

It's the difference between "that's stupid" and "you're stupid".

No. But I do remember Israelites claiming a god told them to destroy their enemies.

Also kind of hilarious that that is your first sentence after objecting to the statement about history being filled by religious violence.

What irony.

Why were they enemies?

Because they believed differently.

The Israelites didn't seek people to make war against them. They were enemies because the Israelites were God's people and so the others hated them; much the way non-believers hate God's people today.

I don't hate people for the beliefs that they hold.
In fact, the most hate I see for people these days, seems to be religiously motivated.

From the "kuffar hating" jihadists to homophobic christians.

Godly people do not hate and only got to war in defense

lol!

Unfortunately, there are people in the world even today who continue to make war because they are evil. That's not God's fault.

Says the guy who just refered to a story where "godly people" are commanded by this god to go conquer a nation and commit brutal genocide, including toddlers and babies.

Well according to you, some of them need deserve to be mocked and ridiculed.

No problem, really.

If we were at a party, and you were getting on my nervous system, I'd just hand you a book of ideas and ask you to go off in a corner and mock and ridicule them.

(Keep it down though. Others might think you're funny talking to a book.)
