CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I dunno, I always found it smart to not antagonize anyone who is supposed to be looking out for possible assassins.

Trump is the Secret Services favorite President in the history of the SS (not that Nazi SS, but could be). The agents love him and would lay down their lives to protect him. They would work for free if the losers in Congress would allow it.

While I am sure the Secret Service agents might enjoy the haute cuisine and international business junkets, I am sure they need to be paid to support their families.
In addition, guarding a person who is as polarizing and disliked as Trump, and who is hated even more (if that is possible) in the international community, where his approval ratings might be in the teens, puts all of them in greater danger.
I had a neighbor in the Secret Service for awhile. Like everyone, agents like people who appreciate the work they do and who are thoughtful and considerate. That doesn't seem to describe the president at all.
