Why are some Christians anti Evolution?

Many, probably even most, Christians are unwilling to move from traditional Christian theology, which they would have to do if they accepted all the implications associated with accepting evolution.

Beyond that I have to speculate. But from conversations with this topic, I think part of the problem is that both Biblical inerrancy and accepting tradition promise to give us unchanging truth. The moment you accept that both the Bible and traditional Christian beliefs are sometimes wrong, everything becomes a judgement call, and based purely upon evidence I think it’s hard to be 100% sure that there’s really a God that cares for us. You also open the door to things like having to accept gay people. It’s pretty clear that for many Christians that is unthinkable.

Humans are a subspecies of ape. We are to this day still apes. Just as we are still mammals, as we are still animals. We never stop being what our ancestors were.

We will never evolve to become birds even if one day we evolve the power of flight, we will still be animals, mammals, apes, humans (all of these, all at the same time)

A bat is an animal, mammal but it flies like a bird. It is not a bird and never will be.
There is no cross over and never will be.

I’d add that because evolution (and the scientific method) does not factor God in to any of it people with very strong personal convictions take it as a personal affront.

They should be more concerned if science did do its thing on god. If science kicked the tires of god and found the rules and limits under which god is and operates. I would think that would annoy the religious folk more.
I think they would prefer to go to their church to hear about god, rather than to read about god in science books.
They ought to see it as a good thing that science doesn't try to define or describe god.

Let's not ignore natural selection and it's logical conclusion , "macroeveloution". This is where the cross over begins. The apes to humans theory.

This isn't a cross over. Humans are still great apes. Great apes are still primates, primates are still mammals. We don't jump into alternative species. We are always the same species as our parents, our offspring are always the same species as us. According to the theory of evolution.
