You keep offering your opinion. It does not trump God's word.
That God is righteous is the bible's opinion.

Of course, it could be that we humans have absolutely NO idea what it could possibly mean to be righteous, though. I mean, there's no telling if Anders Behring Breivik was justified in killing 69 people over politics. Other than the fact that he's not God, apparently :)

Alright, but the question is how the authors of the bible understand and use the term. That I don't know.

the lexicons are the closest resource we have to knowing how people actually used the word.

It's like Pharoah in exodus. God hardened pharoah's heart, not by doing something directly in pharoah's heart, but through the actions of Moses and the miracles God allowed. God hardened Pharoah's heart indirectly. I see torment in hell as being imposed by God, by God completely removing Himself from the one in hell. Meaning His self removal causes torment. God torments by not doing anything. Thoughts? (assuming this is coherent) haha

actually I personally believe that God directly hardened pharoes heart.

Are you really comparing Hitler with God?
What Hitler did is nothing compared to what God will do (is doing) to people. Hitler merely began God's work a little early, it's not like those people didn't deserve to be imprisoned, starved, tortured, gassed and burned.

Close enough for our purposes here.
They're not close enough for any purpose. They're not in any way the same thing, and not used in the bible as the same thing. Those who are saved are given eternal life, they're not put in a state of ever becoming more alive but never actually getting to be alive.

When it comes to understanding the bible we need to know how the words and terms were used at the time it was written, and the context. A dictionary tells us common uses and understanding of words now.

What Hitler did to 6 million Jews was terrible, but probably all but 1% of these rejected Christ, so yes, God will become more terrible than Hitler was, because his eternal torment will be just.

The Jews as a majority will face eternal torture, because they're trying to get to the father directly, not through the son, an eternal mistake. Hitler could only kill their bodies, God will torment their souls for all eternity.

On what grounds is what "God does to people" wrong?

a dictionary yes, not a lexicon. A lexicon like I said is the closest thing we have to the original text.
