  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was hasty in dismissing your comments, and I apologize. I, personally, do not object to Mr. Bannon's appointment based on his alleged racism and anti-Semitism.

I consider Breitbart bottom-feeding media outlet and Ms. Geller a dangerous lunatic. Bannon's endorsement by those two alone stand to brand him as questionable in my opinion.

This is the Motte-and-Bailey argument. You began by challenging people to refute the arguments of the other posters in this and other threads, who are claiming that Bannon is a racist. That's the bailey. It's a position which, if held, would benefit you greatly.

But it's hard to hold because, as I noted, the evidence for this proposition is scant at best. So when this is pointed out to you, you say merely that you are troubled by his association with Breitbart. That's the motte. It is certainly true that he has been a significant part of Breitbart after the eponymous's Breitbart's passing. No one can arguing with that. And your worries about why this matters are vague and not stated by you, so those can't really be argued against either. Thus, you are secure. But the position is also much less valuable since the only people who will have sympathy for it are those who already despise Breitbart.

The finale, which completes the strategy, is to come out of the motte after things are safer and claim that the bailey has been proven. You haven't quite gotten that far yet, and if you want to put some weight behind your pretensions, you won't.

Even though Steve Bannon himself said that Breitbart was now a platform for the alt right? Andrew Breitbart had many faults imho, but he did not cater to the alt right at all. Bannon is the one who turned that site to a one that served the alt-right.

Keep your eyes open at least.

I've dealt with too many of these people in real life. The head of the klan for the state lives close to me. I've had the unfortunate pleasure of watching the last black man in the town just north of me flee for fear of his life. I've heard the tirades. I've sat in the home of a man with Nazi and confederate flags hung in plain view and listened to his story. They love breitbart and bannon, he's their hero, and Trump their knight in shining armor. They brag about how all the "blacks" are going to get tossed out of the west wing. It's disgusting.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milo_Yiannopoulos

As a "cultural libertarian"[5] and "free speechfundamentalist", he is a vocal critic of feminism,[6] Islam, social justice, political correctness, and other movements and ideologies he claims to be authoritarianor belonging to the "regressive left". Yiannopoulos has been called a spokesperson for the alt-right.[7] He considers himself a reporter of and sympathizer with the movement.[8] He was permanently banned from Twitter in July 2016.[9][10][11]
"spokesperson for the alt-right" - hmm

Even gays can be alt-right. If they are white.
He has outright denied being a spokesman for the alt-right. So much for that.

Openly gay people, especially promiscuous ones who flaunt it like Milo, are also not entirely welcome the way you might think. There's an aversion to things perceived as degenerate and leading toward an erosion of the integrity of the traditional family.

I wonder exactly what Bannon thinks the alt-right is. If he means right-leaning libertarians, trolls, civic nationalists, and others like that rallying around Trump and against the GOP establishment and PC culture, feminism, etc.? Then he's absolutely right, Breitbart is a hub for that. If he means white nationalists and national socialists? Not so much.

It seems to be a forgone conclusion and an agreement among all us here that President Obama is an evil evil man that is cold hearted, that he constantly want to come up with policies that aim to ruin the real middle class in America

not to mention that he is only US president ever that was able to get away with blatant lie and deceit like fake his birth certificate and his diploma from Columbia

he really is an evil evil man

feel free to share your story how evil he is in this thread ;)

Blind Post:

Obama is eviler than Satan.

Sean Hannity last night has Rev Darrell Scott and Dr Robert Jeffress on there talking about the Evangelical vote...and they both said Hillary's political positions are evil. Dr. Robert says her policies "are evil, evil evil!" You know its sad when the Evangelicals have us beat. They are a step ahead of us in this game. Here's our pope praising Sanders character... Who supports abortion... And Catholics actual defend Hillary Clinton who is for infanticide. Sigh...I'm sad at what's been done to our Church.

Before you made the biggest mistake of your life and vote for someone who is arguably the most corrupt politician in America's history there are things you need to consider.

  1. A liberal appointee to the Supreme Court changes everything. With Antonin Scalia gone the next president changes the 4-4 split between conservative and leftist judges. Among things on the liberal agenda if they win are:
    1. Invoking the “Fairness Doctrine which would effectively stifle talk radio. Talk radio, Fox news and a few independent websites are the only alternative to Democrat saturated propaganda. Already there are millions of people who have no idea how many laws Hillary violated because they are not being discussed. Think Pravda.
    2. The Second Amendment will be chipped away, beginning with the outlawing of any weapon with a magazine over 10 rounds. Like your AR15? Either surrender it or become a criminal. Concealed carry? Gone.
    3. Religious liberties will be eliminated. Religious organizations will be forced to provide birth control, support abortions, embrace homosexuality and teach only state approved doctrine.
    4. Once in control, America will fall to one party rule. At that point you are going to have to start a war to get your country back.
  1. Nothing you hear now from the media can be believed. It's do or die time for Hillary. All her sins will be revealed if she loses.

    1. Trump has already said he would appoint a special prosecutor and she would go to jail.

    2. The corruption includes Obama, who sent her emails on the insecure server, Comey who lied under oath to Congress and screwed up the investigation on her behalf, and the attorney general who colluded to cover up the crimes.

    3. Hillary will do anything to win; even commit murder if necessary. In a conversation with her staff she suggested “droning” Julienne Assange. When her comment met with stares of disbelief she said she was kidding. Those who have crossed her have seen that cold blooded stare that so many have described. Hillary is evil.
  2. If everything they claim about Trump is true, what's the consequence?

    1. Trump will bring conservative justices to the Supreme court, but he doesn't have the political clout to survive if charges can be proven true. This is unlike Hillary who actually COULD kill a person on the street and get away with it.

    2. None of the claims make sense. There were NO complaints about Trump prior to the last few weeks and suddenly they come out of the woodwork just before an election. This doesn't bother you? Bill Cosby and Bill Clinton, both predators, have a LONG history of complaints. Not so with Trump. One of the women is complaining he kissed her. SERIOUSLY????

    3. Trump will enforce existing laws. Illegal immigration is already illegal, yet there are cities where enforcing the law is prohibited. In Arizona Sheriff Joe Arapio is under suspension because he won't stop enforcing the law. A nation that doesn't enforce its laws is lawless. A nation that doesn't enforce its borders is not a nation.

    4. If Trump is a bad president there IS a remedy. We can vote him out in four years. If Hillary gets into office America as we know it will be radically changed and the feckless fools in the GOP won't be able to stop it. America cannot afford to turn the seat of power over to that evil woman. She MUST be stopped, and at this point only Trump can stop her. He wasn't my choice for president, but now he's the only choice for America.
Welcome to the new standard, they're evil because I don't like them, therefore I don't like them because they're evil.....I don't need to wait and see what they do.
Indeed.

All the white supremacists I see always seem to cite breitbart and be regulars there. At absolute minimum it is their meeting place and nexus.
It's the least 'compromised' relatively mainstream right-wing news source, in the view of quite a few. It still has issues, just fewer. So yeah, they're part of the audience, and they troll the heck out of the comment sections, but it's not really their nexus. They have other sites and avenues for that.

This is absolutely false.

The article where the term "renegade jew" was used was written by David Horowitz, a Jew, who was attacking Bill Kristol for not backing the pro Israel candidate in the election.

Your post is a lie, I hope you will retract it now that you know the truth.

Nothing I posted is a lie. In fact, everything I posted was truth. Post-fact world though. I get it.

The person in charge could have asked them not to use "renegade Jew" because there was no reason for it to be there. Nor was there a reason to say that there's nothing like a Polish, Jewish elite person scorned.

He just wrote the handbook for Breitbart.com on the alt right.

Your post was a lie and I proved it. You accused Breitbart of anti-semitism for a quote from one Jew about the status of another Jew. It had nothing to do with racism or anti semitism. It had to do with political opinion with regards to the state of Israel.

Probably because it grabs attention. If just putting "Jew" in the title sends people into an apoplectic frenzy crying about anti-semitism, it's sure to get plenty of people looking at it.

Dog whistles do that. Only it usually isn't for the Left. ;)

The thing I love about Trump Nation is that they are honestly loyal to Trump and the Ideals for which he stands. They can find ever possible explanation as to why folks who are the darlings of racists and white supremacists are, themselves unfairly linked to these people. But Hillary Clinton is just guilty of something...it's just not entirely certain what the thing is.

Evidence is SO important to find a way to get Steve Bannon off from his unfortunate audience, but when it comes to "Lock Her Up", evidence has no value. They just know Hillary is a bad apple.

Is that supposed to mean something?

Brietbart writes for a specific audience. They know their audience and they court that audience with the things that audience likes to read.

That's an echo chamber.

But of course we all know that Brietbart in it's Steve Bannon incarnation as the darling of the alt-right isn't really so bad. It's not like he's Julius Streicher or anything! Yet.

Hillary posted classified government emails on a private email account. AGAINST THE LAW

Hillary ignored dozens of request from the Libyan diplomatic delegation for more security which led to the deaths of four Americans. INCOMPETENT

Hillary lied to America about the cause of the attacks in Benghazi in order to cover for her incompetence. UNETHICAL

Breitbart is a conservative web site. Salon is a liberal web site.

So?

So why didn't the FBI bring charges against her?

Hillary ignored dozens of request from the Libyan diplomatic delegation for more security which led to the deaths of four Americans. INCOMPETENT

But Jason Chavitz himself said the GOP gladly cut funding for more security at diplomatic outposts.

Hillary lied to America about the cause of the attacks in Benghazi in order to cover for her incompetence. UNETHICAL

What Hillary did after Benghazi was VERY MUCH LIKE what REAGAN did after the Barracks bombing in Beirut. But of course when Reagan downplayed the attacks in Beirut (after his administration put the men in harms way without a real ability to defend themselves) the Right didn't seem to even notice.

Benghazi was very much like Beirut. But the Right doesn't have enough people who remember more than 8 years ago, so it's all good!

As I said: evidence doesn't matter when indicting Hillary. That's why SHE'S NOT IN FRONT OF ANY COURTS.

But Trump is facing more than 70 Lawsuits Against him. His team of lawyers is already trying to figure out how to keep him from having to go into court during his first few months in office.

Too bad the GOP got SCOTUS to rule in regards to Bill Clinton that lawsuits against the President can't be put off for an entire 4 year term. I bet they wish they'd have played a longer game now.

LOL.
