Amen!

I actually have a high amount of respect for science.

I believe science is something God gives a select group of people (via the Gift of Knowledge) to do His will here on Earth and make our lives better.

Unfortunately, in the spirit of Nimrod, who started out as a "mighty hunter before the LORD", then turned his back on Him and built one of the most evil empires on the face of the earth, I think most scientists today use their spiritual gift against God, not for Him.

They've been duped into believing they are wise at birth; and in so doing, have ended up becoming atheists.

I'm glad you respect science!!! I was confused by "Science Can Take a Hike." :D

Many scientists use their gift for the glory of God and betterment of humankind and his creations, even if that is not their set purpose. Their work in advances of understanding on how the universe and all within it operate are part of stewardship that glorifies God. Sure, there have been nefarious uses of science. There have also been nefarious abuses of the Bible.

One of the most prominent modern scientists is also an evangelical Christian who used science to provide evidence for belief:

If I had the gift to go into science I would. Sadly, I'm just gonna become a lawyer and deal with all those lawyer jokes. :D

It's actually very sad to me that you view things like that. You are missing so much. You and so many others are missing out on something so wonderful. Peace to you.
You might be surprised at how little one misses or regrets the comforting delusions of theology. Reality is so much more beautiful and awe-inspiring than ridiculous iron age fables.

As space-time untwists from the "big bang" it became aware of itself in me, who in my almost instantaneous formation and dispersion have nevertheless had time to begin to comprehend my true self on scales from yotta (10^24) to yocto (10^-24) and beyond.

For an eternal instant, here and now, I dance and sing in the light of my own improbable awareness. To see clearly is so much more wonderful than all your distorted psychedelic hallucinations.

Crystal Cabinet

The world of things entered your infant mind
To populate that crystal cabinet.
Within its walls the strangest partners met,
And things turned thoughts did propagate their kind.
For, once within, corporeal fact could find
A spirit. Fact and you in mutual debt
Built there your little microcosm - which yet
Had hugest tasks to its small self assigned.

Dead men can live there, and converse with stars:
Equator speaks with pole, and night with day;
Spirit dissolves the world's material bars -
A million isolations burn away.
The Universe can live and work and plan,
At last made God within the mind of man.

-- Julian Huxley

Just remember there are 2 kinds of lawyers.

The ones who inspire the jokes and the ones who know all the best lawyer jokes. I'm looking forward to learning some new ones!

And all religions can go back to Hell, where they came from in the first place.

So don't tell me about bridling my tongue when I mention Hell.

You're not just "mentioning" Hell, AV -- you're making proclamations regarding who and/or what is going there.

If you can't understand that you're not Jesus, there's no point in telling you to stop trying to usurp His position.

No one is going to Hell that doesn't deserve to go.

Is that good enough?

Jesus spoke more on Hell than any other writer in the Bible, including Moses.

He also 'did' / followed a religion. You have missed the point.
My picture of the bridled tongue was a clue, but to what was it then a clue about religion?

No, He didn't.
You have missed the point.
Perhaps if you would quit horsing around and get to the point, we could simplify this conversation, eh?

Religion can take a hike.

Just as weight occurs when gravity is resisted, religion occurs when the word of God is resisted.

Christianity is a relationship -- not a religion.

No, He didn't.

If you tell the Bible to take a hike, then I agree.

Perhaps if you would quit horsing around and get to the point, we could simplify this conversation, eh?

I can see that metaphor is wasted on you.

Religion can take a hike.

Just as weight occurs when gravity is resisted, religion occurs when the word of God is resisted.

Christianity is a relationship -- not a religion.

It's a relationship which has doctrines of religious belief and religious practice. It is a religion.
