That's what I'm trying to say, the reformers can't have a council, they have way more disagreements than ever, that's why we have so many churches that teach different things in different denominations although we have the essential in common.
yes. History.Since the 4th century ??????
I think the lack of evidence presented regarding Jesus telling us to listen to the Bible takes us to my conclusion. It's probably best for you to not jump to conclusions, brother Concrete.
“And so, lastly, does the very name of 'Catholic', which, not without reason, amid so many heresies, the Church has thus retained; so that, though all heretics wish to be called Catholics, yet when a stranger asks where the Catholic Church meets, no heretic will venture to point to his own chapel or house.”-------St. Augustine
Everyone knows this, including the OP. Even you know it when you're being honest with yourself. It's why you labeled yourself an Anglican rather than a Catholic.

you are correct. Prior to the Bible being canonized, there were 100s of letters (claimed to be Divinely Inspired) being read at the Divine Liturgy. The Scriptures didn't start being the Bible and suddenly have 'authority' in the 4th century.

So, we are all still waiting for a scripture passage where Jesus tells us to listen to the Bible.

becasue you refuse to recognize you are backed into a corner. Jesus tells us to listen to the Church. Paul tells us The Church is the pillar of truth. No one in scripture tells us to listen to the bible. You started this, I just finished it.That is an incoherent request on your part since the Bible is made up of "Scripture passages." Of course, you already knew this, right?
do you have a scripture passage where Jesus tells us to listen to the Bible?Jesus was known to have referred his disciples to passages from Holy Scripture when they were quizzing him about something (as they often did).

Oh! Is that all you're trying to get to?? Why didn't you just say so. I agree. The Church is the depository of God's Truth in Christ, and the Bible is an inspired expression from God through His Church.
And?
lol if Luther never protest in the 16th century you'll be buying indulgences for the dead nowconsidering Christ commands us to listen to the Church and never tells us to listen to the Bible, I'd say Catholics and Orthodox got it right and protestants got it gravely wrong.
both are man made doctrines not supported by Scripture of Tradition
foreknowledge is not a calvinistic word, their own is predestination, it's not the same for them. This issue is contentious but it does not have to be. I went to one church on a visit and they did a series 8 weeks on this as they had strongly taken a side. A pastor name Chuck Smith weighed in on this and covered in 8 minutes. He showed for sure we are elect if we are saved. God elects based on foreknowledge and does not violate our free will. So we choose God and that is how we know we are elect. Since we do not know who is elect or not we need to share the gospel with them and give them there chance to make the choice that God already knew they would make or not. God is not willing that any should perish.. This is clear that those who chose poorly will see they had opportunity.
same challenge to you. Show us all where Jesus tells us to listen to the Bible.lol if Luther never protest in the 16th century you'll be buying indulgences for the dead now
